Noelani Princess of the West
Interactions: NeonFlow NeonFlow (Lalo)
Mentions: Kumo
Location: Garden

Noelani smiled and clapped gratefully as his song came to an end. "You are very talented, and certainly have a silver tongue. I like the way you think of royalty too." She giggled. IF only everyone thought that they deserved a break. Not only those around them, but others like her. They were after all still human weren't they? That's at least the way she viewed it. He had a certain charm about him that reminded her of the way her brother could charm a room full of people particularly ladies. Perhaps that's why she found it relaxing, but not endearing. It didn't make her heart skip a beat, or her cheeks flush to hear such niceties like she'd seen ladies do. No it'd always taken a little more than just words to charm or entice her. However that didn't mean she didn't enjoy his presence, and wouldn't mind indulging in it during her stay here.

"A pleasure to meet you as well. You assumed correctly, I just like to jest. I'm Princess Noelani of the western kingdom." She smiled politely. The full introduction was more out of habit than her actually caring about her title. Everyone back home knew that wasn't a big deal to her. "Trust me you are the first to give me a reason to smile today, so it shall stay as gratitude." She chimed. Well it would stay until she finds out who her betrothed is. She had a sinking feeling all the freedom she'd enjoyed until now would now be a distant memory. Not to mention being forced to leave her two brothers as tradition has it to where the brides will live in the husbands domain.

Thinking of her brother, she looked around idly figuring he was bound to show up sooner or later to find her. They are not in their land, and she was sure his overprotective nature will be kicking in soon. "Also I ask for forgiveness in advance if my eldest brother arrives. He can be a bit...much though he means well and is actually rather kind." She giggled lightly as she twirled a few strands of her hair between her fingertips. "Will you be attending the ball this evening?" She asked curiously. It might be nice to have someone she can talk to outside of the drama that was to come.

Lady Ruby
Interaction: ( Reiia silver Reiia silver )Erica
Location: Princess Erica's chambers

Ruby wasn't really one for long distance travel, sadly since this was the first time doing so she just discovered this about herself. Any moment she could get alone was far and few between but cherished. The only saving grace was most people didn't strike up conversation with her. Something about her looking too intimidating, but that just worked in her favor. The only people she concerned herself with were the royal family, and a few close knights to the royals. This was why when they arrived she took her sweet time helping get their belongings out and setting up the horses in the stables. Se just needed a moment of peace to clear her head. Gossip among the servants while never spoken directly to her weren't hard to overhear. Wondering if this will really bring peace? Wondering what it will be like to have foreigners in their mist? wondering what it'll be like for the princesses who will have to leave? That latter was the only concern Ruby had as she would follow princess Erica anywhere she wished if it made her feel more comfortable. Not to mention she wondered what sort of prince would be her match, and if he was even worthy of her.

None of these things were things she could do anything about which is why she tried her best to pushed them from her mind. It didn't take long for one of the servants to let her know where the princess was going to reside, and so Ruby finished up and headed towards her. The castle was captivatingly beautiful. It was nothing like home, but that just make it more interesting. She glanced around in awe, watching those who called this castle home scurried around trying their best to make their guest comfortable. It didn't take long for her to reach Princess Erica's chambers, so she knocked on the door, "M'lady it's me, Lady Ruby. May I enter?" She asked politely.

Otrygg was not a fan of horses. But he could see the appeal. They could carry you and your things great distances, for one, and when fully armored could act like a battering ram as they charge into an enemy formation. Something the Southern Kingdom refused to do, taking to much pride in the speed and mobility of their light cavalry. Not that he saw much of an issue with that, light cavalry had it's place on the battlefield. But sometimes while on the front himself, a lance formation of heavily armored warriors crashing into the enemy's ranks would have been a welcoming sight.

But at long last, they were at the Middle Kingdom Castle, and he could dismount... Or perhaps the eldest of the Southern nobility, Miriam, had other plans for him. Not trusting the castle's staff to take care of the horses and carriage, she had instructed him to see to it. Giving a fairly stiff bow, from riding a horse for several days and not out of disrespect, he acknowledged her order by giving several of his own. "Octavius, Spurious, see to it that our kind driver gets to the proper stables. Floria, I leave you with the horses. Murria, prepare your platoon and escort them to our assigned barrack then have them shadow our royalty. Be seen, not heard, and stay out of their way. Until the vows are exchanged, don't trust anyone. Airin, let us go assess our counterparts." As he spoke, he had dismounted and handed his reigns to Floria, who looked ecstatic about being left in charge of all the horses, the metal crest in the shape of a horse showing her love for the animals.

And so off he and Airin went, on the search for the other knights that were surprisingly no where to be seen. But this was a big castle, and he was sure he was simply not seeing them amidst all the hustle and bustle of all the guests arriving at once.

Lalilu's happy face beamed a tad brighter when hearing the words of the West Princess. "don't have me arrested princess Noelani, but I shall hold you to said gratitude. If by chance I see a frown I shall do my best to remedy it"
A cheeky grin formed as he continued his background strumming.

At the mention of attending a ball Lalo made a obvious show of contemplating it.
"hmmmmmmmmm well.... I planned to duck away and visit the kitchen of the middle castle but I say you have given me reason to attend. As I've stated... Its my duty to make sure my princess is content and well, I have also taken upon the challenge to keep your gorgeous smile alive and well during these trying times"
The tone of his voice might seem light hearted and sarcastic but the man couldn't help but smile upon mentioning his princess.

He stopped playing the strings to chuckle. Unable to hide the worry building up to bursting point on his face his hands tap the lute as if it were a drum.
"I'll be honest Noelani, I am quite nervous... I'm worried I won't be invited to said event. I am only the musician hired by eastern royalty. I feel this may be to serious a event for me to simply walk around as if I belong"
Getting it off his chest helped settle his nerves somewhat as he started to strum again.
With a small smirk he thought out loud..
"suppose I shall find my own fun if I'm not allowed inside with the blue
blooded"

Lady Braska of the North
interactions: Morzone Morzone Mentions: Fenris Fenris

Once the servant had guided Braska and Adrian to her quarters the Princess quickly found a seat for herself and ordered the servant girl away. Once the servant had left and the large door had been closed behind her Braska broke her silence "Adrian, I have been disarmed. For the entirety of this trip, I will not be permitted to carry a blade on my hip and so I must entrust my safety in its entirety to a guard for the first time in a very long time. You are to be that guard. You are to be the blade by my side.". With a soft smile Braska arose from her seat and moved swiftly toward the door, it was only a matter of time before Leif showed up and Braska had until then to explore the area without her advisor's well... advice! In other words, she had until Leif found her to get into trouble! Exiting the room at great speed Braska waved back toward Adrian with a hushed chuckle "If you're going to be my personal guard do make sure to keep up".

Once out in the hall, Braska returned to a more graceful pace of stride and along with her newly promoted personal guard made her way through the many halls of the castle toward the great ballroom. As the two travelled Braska spoke with the man about her concerns for the night ahead. "As I've said, I have been stripped of my blade and during the ball tonight I imagine things will become quite heated between the royal couples. Of course, I can also see myself becoming quite irate during the event. Adrian, you are to ensure I do not get myself too worked up. I have quite the temper and It would be most unbecoming of me to showcase that in front of the central court. In the case I tug on your sleeve three times ensure you have an excuse ready to get me out of that ballroom. Oh and Adrian, don't be too uptight. Make sure to enjoy the event at the same time."

Just as Braska finished the two arrived at the ballroom entrance and to Braska's surprise Miriam was stood there before her. A grin almost immediately formed on the Northern Princesses face and a chuckle escaped her "Lady Miriam of the South, I didn't expect you to be the curious type. Honestly, I expected you to be shining your brother's shoes for tonight's ball... that or running away"

After his sister’s standard warning, that he had more or less tuned out, Vern had made his way into the palace. What was she saying? Something about Southern Pride? Like she had to worry about him. It was their hermit of a sister she needed to watch. If it was up to her, she would surely lock herself in the castle’s library rather than attend any kind of event. A maid met him at the entrance, insisting on showing him the way to his room. As much fun as wandering aimlessly around the immense building sounded, he supposed he should at the very least remember the route to get to his room. Vern tried to fill the silence between them with idle chitchat, but as expected, the servant’s responses were kept brief and professional. At that point, it felt more like an interrogation - him asking questions while the maid offered none of her own. How boring. After a quick bow, the maid took her leave.

Vern had only stepped into the room for a few moments, taking a quick glance around, before turning back around and leaving. It seemed all of his things had already arrived and were neatly stored away. It wasn’t like he had brought much with him - only clothing and a few books to keep him occupied. He was sure he would hardly have time to be bored with how much ground he could explore. Where should he go first?

He ventured up to the sixth floor. Dear God were there a lot of stairs. Vern considered himself to be quite fit but even he was tiring towards the end. What was even up there? The room was empty of others, leaving plenty of seats open. Other than the ample sitting room, there didn’t seem to be much else to the space. Well, besides of course the floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the kingdom. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The gardens had every type of vegetation imaginable and he could even see a couple of people mingling, although he couldn’t pick out any distinct features from that high up. He wondered if he should make the hike down there to greet the other guests. However, he wanted to look over the kingdom some more and honestly, the idea of traversing back down all of those steps so soon dissuaded him. For now, he slowly walked the perimeter of the room, taking a look out of each enormous window whilst rolling a coin from his pocket through his fingers.

Hearing a soft knock and the voice floating through the door, Lynette eagerly hopped out of her seat. Finally, she could go out and explore. Braska had mentioned the garden earlier, so it was the first place she had wanted to go! Or maybe the ballroom? She couldn’t wait to see how it was decorated for that evening. That would be the plan. The ballroom and then the garden. Surely, there would be a nice shady spot or gazebo they could sit under and enjoy some tea. Her hand rested on the doorknob, ready to swing it open when another voice reached her. Was that Argenix? She was surprised he hadn’t immediately retreated to somewhere secluded. Although, that might be what his plan had been before spotting Viana.

She hesitated only for a moment, wondering if anything more would be said, before opening the door. “Viana,” she beamed at the servant, “I’m happy you made it!” Her gaze quickly went towards her brother nearby. “Argenix, did you see the rooms? They’re amazing! It’s so much larger than mine at home.” Her room was by no means small, and it would feel bigger if not for the collection of canvases she insisted on keeping stacked in the corner, no matter how many times servants offered to move them out of the way for her. She absolutely hated having them in some storage room on the other side of the building. This way, she could grab one and be on her way - it was much more efficient! Sure, it may be ‘cluttered’ or ‘a mess’ or whatever others wanted to call it. So what if she always lost her favorite brushes because she never put it back where it was supposed to go? It added character.

“Will you be coming with us to explore?” Lynette asked, hopeful. It wasn’t often that she got to spend time with either of her siblings, so she wanted to make the most of this trip. They were both always so busy but it wasn’t something they could help. With all of the responsibilities they both held, it was surprising they ever got any time to themselves.

Ella was glad for the support with her endeavors regarding Alek, after all she was deeply and passionately in love with him. Of course that should be obvious in her mind, she didn’t go around having babies was just anybody. There was just something about the support from Kumo that made her feel a lot better, almost like she was getting somewhere with him finally. She really wished that Kumo would be happy with whoever he had to marry, she knew that he probably would go along with it for the sake of the kingdom.

Ella opened her eyes widely when all of a sudden they were greeted by Firmin, she was surprised at how ungraceful he seemed to appear in front of them. She smiled though and nodded her head towards him, making sure that she was not at all rude. The baby kept fussing, but suddenly she just stopped crying and stared at the other person. Ella was quite shocked, she was expecting her to be a lot more fussy and to pretty much disregard anybody who came nearby. She reached her hand up a little bit, rubbing her small head that had a small baby On it.

“My word, I should’ve had you come distract her a while ago….” She let out a giggled, wondering where he had been that he looked so disheveled. Granted it was on that the baby was paying attention to somebody without him really interacting with her much. “As much as I am enjoying this, I am going to go look for Alek, so that I can get him to help me a little bit.” She began to turn to walk off, but instead she stopped for a moment and looked over at Kumo. “Thank you, for letting me talk about my feelings…”

She began to head back towards the servant quarters, at least where she thought the servant quarters were. As she began to walk up towards the quarters, she was too happy to see them near the stairs. “Oh good! I am so glad to see you two!” At that moment Jace stopped crying and was reaching her small arms out towards her father. “I was hoping maybe you could take her for a little bit, in fact I was wondering—” she was going to ask that spend some time with them, but she quickly changed her mind.

“Here! She can be such a daddy’s girl anyways!” She handed her to Alek and tried her best to smile but it was so difficult right now. “I suspect she’s teething, so she probably will get upset again…. Where you two off to anyways?”

Erica was not in the mood to spend time with anybody and that even meant her lady in waiting. But she did wonder at that time where the woman was, she could definitely use some tea at this time and the other servant had not brought her any. She was growing increasingly irritated, but she remained quiet and instead as she sat there reading, she was seething and even a little bit of smoke could be seen coming from where she sat. Erica didn’t want to act spoiled, it was more that she was accustomed to being more organized with her time, on top of the fact that they were all going to have to marry people they did to.

“You may enter….” Erica spoke dryly and waited for Ruby to enter, she knew that it wasn’t Ruby’s fault that all this was happening so she had to bite her tongue for a moment. “Ruby…. I have asked a servant for tea quite some time ago, they never returned with it….. Now, you know how I get when I don’t have my tea! Please, see to it that somebody brings me tea!” She began to rub the front of her head, her voice was rather quiet but people could still tell she was upset.

“I do apologize Ruby, you do not deserve my attitude…. This whole engagement situation has got me riled up and they don’t like it!” She tried to speak from her heart, which the only person she really would speak to like that was Ruby. “Anyways, it would come my nerves to have some chamomile tea…. I would also greatly appreciate it…” A soft half smile appeared on her face, at this time Ruby was one of the only people to ever see it is Erica didn’t smile much.

Hana was not one would just leave her ailing sibling, especially not her twin. They were not as InSync like other twins, mostly because they were fraternal twins. Still, they had a very rare bond and could often tell when one was having trouble. She felt that that he was having nerves, but she could understand it. It wasn’t easy for her either, after all she had so much love in her heart for a man who was nothing to everyone else in the kingdom. To her he was everything, the air that she breathed and the very beat of her heart.

She wondered how much Brother knew about the situation, she wondered if she could talk about it freely and if the two of them could actually have a talk about it. She wanted to, but she worried about the safety of Lalo if he chose to tell, they could be in a lot of trouble. She stayed by his side for just a moment, smiling when he was being playful with her and she held onto his hand tightly. “I am so glad Brother! I was ever so worried about you, if something happened to you I--“ she quickly shook her head, knowing that she was probably being dramatic at this time. “Well, nevermind about that!”

She began to get up but often enough she did not let go of his hand in that moment, she wanted him to know that she was there for him no matter what. Suddenly her normally playful smile and happy demeanor faded and moment. “Of course, I won’t let you go in there by yourself! You never have to be alone, even if we are worlds apart I will come to you if you need me…..” She quickly turned towards him, flashing him a serious smile this time. “I shall see you in the garden before tonight then!”

She gave his hand a quick little kiss before she began to leave, stopping and looking at the knight with a smile. “If you intend on following me, I would hurry up!” She said with a giggle before running out of the room and looking for her beloved. She had no idea where he could possibly be at that moment, best guess she could have was the garden. So that’s where she intended on going, on top of that she hadn’t explored down there yet.

She quickly hurried to the garden area, running in and she yelled. “Lalo!” In that moment taking notice to a girl nearby, she wasn’t jealous though she trusted Lalo, instead she looked absolutely ecstatic. “Pardon the intrusion, it’s nice to see somebody else around here…. My name is Hana! What’s your name?” She loved meeting new people, even if it was people they were supposed to be at war with, of course she wasn’t sure she was a royal or not. At that moment she took her shoes off, as she climbed the small brick fountain and balanced herself up there.

A small group of servant women and even some males, swooning and fangirling over something. No one could tell right away who was or what was going on. Honestly, the way they were going on you would think that it was one of the Royals, but it wasn’t. It was just Jett of the East, he was a great knight and handsome as could be. He was also very arrogant, confidence just radiating from him which would probably either annoy people or cause them to join the group. “Yes, you all are lovely! And I love all my adoring fans, but I must get back to the Prince!”

People often said they also love how protective he was an loyal to the Prince he was, something that he himself did not really understand. While most people would protect somebody as a job, he was really torn with his feelings for Kota. He tried to make sure they didn’t show, because he really didn’t want to get into trouble. Love was a difficult thing for jett, mostly because he had been in love once before and that turned absolutely sour. After that he just became a bit of a playboy, letting people admire but not get really close to him.

He came up the stairs just as Hana was coming down, the two hardly would talk to one another but his job was in protecting her. He quickly made his way towards Kota’s room and rushed in as quickly as he could. His adoring fans were right behind him, but he quickly slammed the door on them so he could care for the Prince without them swooning. “I heard you are ill, your Majesty…. Is there anything I can do?” He bowed down and stayed there, he has been accustomed to staying in that position for long periods of time.

“Would you like some tea?” He looked up with his eyes just glowing with admiration for the young prince, but when he realized how eager he probably looked he turned his head downwards. “Get together Jett, you mustn’t be so eager…. That is how people find out about your true feelings! What feelings? You know, the ones that are deep inside? The ones that you don’t want anybody to know about!” The inner dialogue, was causing him to shake just a little bit\, but he didn’t get to his feet at all and remained in the bowing position.

Alek gladly took Jace as she was handed to him. “I’m sure we can get the baby something cold to gnaw on.” He said, partially cooing to Jace and partially reassuring Ella.

“We’re not heading anywhere in particular.” Orion answered for his brother.

“We were actually looking for Prince Kumo.” Aleksander said bouncing the drooling baby on his shoulder. “So don’t worry about Jacey~poo for a while, you can go tend to Princess Noelani, Daddy and Uncle have got her. Say ‘Bye-Bye’ to mommy!” He took her little hand and made a waving motion as they walked off in search of Prince Kumo again.

They found him near the royals quarters. “Prince Kumo.” They both said with an air of nonchalance, after all they had to at least act professional. “Is there anything we can do for you?” Orion asked. They also noticed Firmin by the prince.

“How are you today Firmin?” They asked simultaneously just to be a little creepy.

The trip had been blessedly uneventful which certainly served to keep Leif in high spirits as he took note of the well built roads which hardly seemed affected by the recent downpour. Some of the northern routes would have certainly turned into a mess of muddy ruts, slowing commerce to a crawl. Perhaps Braska would be able to leverage some of her influence with local militia's to help fortify the roads before the next spring. Speaking of which, she was a far more restless spirit who's temper was bound to be frayed after spending days cooped up in a carriage. “Merciful gods, grant Adrian the strength to keep the peace.” He muttered, before turning his attention to the rapidly growing vista of the middle kingdoms castle.

By the time his carriage had stopped within the lavish castle grounds Leif had managed to hide both his growing concern and awe at the displayed wealth. With a few clipped words he instructed the men to make the necessary arrangements before rushing off to locate the eldest daughter of the north. The one to cross his path was of vastly different stature but no less impressive. Dipping into a formal bow he intoned, “Lord Commander, what an unexpected pleasure. I trust you and your men have had a pleasant trip? Perhaps this is a welcome break from the heat, say do you ever miss the howl of northern winds and sight of snow covered peaks?” Leif leveled a measuring gaze at the veteran warrior, hoping to gain some spark of insight on his stance to the northern kingdoms he once called home. Better to determine potential allies and enemies before tonight's feast.

Besides, Otrygg might be able to point Leif toward the northern heirs whereabouts, as finding Lady Braska or at least one of her siblings in the unfamiliar castle had the potential to inadvertently turn into a game of hide and seek. In this specific case however, his sense of duty outweighed any mirth the situation might hold.

Kumo stopped walking again as he turned to face Ella, Firmin beside him, quiet as only the three of them stood in such a spacious corridor. Kumo nodded in agreement as he spoke. “That would probably be for the best. You need a break from little Jace before you lose your sanity.” He laughed to himself, turning his attention to Firmin as Ella began to depart from the pair. Kumo stopped to look back at Ella when she spoke to him, his usual grin breaking across his face as he lifted two thumbs-up while he responded, “Anytime! I’m always here if you need to talk Ella!” Kumo then gave her a small wave of goodbye, before actually turning his focus to Firmin.

Kumo looked ecstatic still, seemingly in an upbeat mood while everyone one else around him was decent or worse. Firmin looked to be leaning towards the side of worse. “Firmin! How are you my fair knight? How did that long journey treat you? If we’re being honest, you don’t look like you’re holding out so well...do you need something?” Kumo’s voice was hinted with a general sense of concern, always being one to worry about the needs of the others around him. “I’m just glad you made it here in one piece. It is a pleasant feeling to have one of my knights around, especially in this foreign environment.” Kumo’s eyes then sparkled as he came up with an idea. “After we figure out where the rest of our clique is, we should grab some food. I would love to indulge in some Middle Kingdom delicacies...I’m sure you would appreciate that Firmin.” Before Kumo could speak again, a pair of identical voices came from his side. Kumo flashed another smile, more Westerners being accounted for, this time however, the twins, Aleksander and Orion.

Kumo flipped to them, noticing that Aleksander was carrying Jace, Ella must have found the two pretty quickly. His mind quickly reverted back to his pledge to Ella to speak to Aleksander, but that would have to wait until a better time. “Hello Aleksander and Orion. It is marvelous to see you two! I hope the journey wasn’t as hard upon you both. I was originally planning to catch up with the rest of our Western family, until I ran into Ella, then Firmin, and now you two. The only two unaccounted for is Noelani and Eliot.” Kumo snickered to himself afterwards, hearing them ask Firmin how he was, knowing especially that Firmin wasn’t at his best right now. Kumo loved both of the twins dearly, they were his closest friends, but he always felt that sense of eeriness whenever they spoke in unison. He awaited Firmin and the twins discussion, slowly slipping into thought about the whereabouts of his younger siblings.

"I've already had some tea. The doctor has given me treatment for the nerves and I feel much more settled now. Thankyou though," Kota smiles as he got out of the bed, standing on slightly shaky legs as his body was still a little tired from being sick in the bushes earlier. He balanced himself easily though, stretching out his legs and getting his bearings back. He moved past Jett to the basin of water on a stand closer to the door
. He splashed some water on his face and then shook the wet ends of his hair out before patting his face dry with a towel.

"I heard there was a garden around and I wanted to greet the rabbits and other locals. If you would like to accompany me, I'd greatly appreciate it," Kota smiled easily. Ruba and Teddy had opted to stay behind as they were tired from the trip.

Lalilu was about to elaborate on making his own fun when a familiar voice called out his name... "Lalo!" Hearing his name come from her lips was probably similar to how his music sounds to others. "princess..?"
Lalo quickly flipped his lute onto his back to turn and face the angelic ball of sunshine that is Princess Hana. The epitome of beauty if you ask Lalo, The eastern princess is what all royalty should aspire to be. Hana is kind and warm with intelligence beyond her age. That wisdom no doubt adds to the graceful elegance behind her every movem-

why you taking your shoes off! This is the western princess you can't let the east seem rude! Is it ok?...
Lalilu couldn't help but lose his focus, Hana was innocent as one could be and that's probably a big part of her charm, and as to why Lalo has kept his hands to himself as a gentleman. A hard task indeed, what with the hidden moments shared between them.

A healthy young man like Lalo believes if circumstances allowed then he probably wouldn't be a gentleman. But now was no time to be smitten or amused, action had to be taken before he was blamed for something.

"My dear princess Hana!"
Lalo picked up the discarded shoes in his left hand before stepping to where his princess was, taking Hana's hand with his right to escort her along the fountain and off to stand in front of the blue haired woman.
"allow me to introduce you to princess Noelani of the western kingdom, we were just enjoying the garden ourselves.. to relieve tension is the goal for royalty in the garden but I must insist for my well being Princess Hana..."
Picking Hana up like he usually does to place gently on the fountain to put her shoes back on. Lalo couldn't help but stifle a giggle... it was usually the opposite.
"You refrain from acting to relieved, less I be blamed for being a bad influence"
Lalo offered his hand to pull Hana back to her feet, his fingers lingered as he pointed out Waboe Falla who had caught up to the runaway princess at said time. Standing at the edge of the garden giving a stinkeye to the bard before turning a corner to most likely watch from somewhere less noticeable.

Lalo chuckled "If the eastern knights and the western knights find me singing and dancing with two princesses, without their shoes on? Why... they'd be fighting over whose pike my head will sit yea?"
If he wasn't sure on the laws and punishments if such a thing could happen, but making a joke seems the best. Especially with Waboe keeping watch...
It wouldn't be a beating or a talking to if he did wrong here. It'd be death.

Otrygg had been wandering the castle grounds with Airin, finding nothing of interest. All of the knights were to busy worrying over their respective nobility to be doing much more than stand at attention or parade rest. No real insight gained there. However, there was an unexpected encounter in the form of an apparently Northern knight. They said some pleasantries, but the main sticking point was when he asked about missing the North.

"I left the North when I was only a small boy. Though the last time I visited was at Barosvik, bloody business that. The Butcher was paid his dues that day." The Battle of Barsovik was one of the bloodiest battles in recent history, where the attacking Southern force took the town but at a very steep cost in men, only to have it retaken when Northern reinforcements arrived.

"But that's not something we should be talking about. You seem to know me, but I'm afraid your name escapes me. Must be my old mind."

Otrygg's mentioning the battle of Barsovik was surprising, most northerner's had at least heard of it and few recalled the events fondly. “Pardon my bluntness, but it seems in everyone's best interest that you abstain from any further visits. Old grudges are neither forgiven nor forgotten easily.” Leif noted in a matter of fact way, before nodding in agreement with the warriors assessment to move on from such dreary a topic.

“Hardly a trick of the mind. I simply haven't been able to make a name for myself on the field of battle, but alas perhaps it is for the best that the time for it has come and gone.” the noble allowed a thin smile to split his features as he continued, “Allow me to remedy the situation. Leif of house Volkov, currently serving as adviser to lady Braska. Whom you wouldn't happen to have seen recently?”

Surely a man of Otrygg's station would be familiar with royalty. For better or worse their identities were not as obscure as Leif's own. The sheer size of the castle could make finding anyone a challenging task and the many ornate details had a way of drawing the eye that was entirely unconducive to such efforts. With a glance at Airin the noble added, “Any assistance you or your retinue can offer would be much appreciated.”

Southern Knight of Aldor Weard
Castle, Middle Kingdom

Among the lavish grandways that parted ways from when the Aldor Weard sentinels had dismounted, it seemed that they had a certain catch of respite. The long journey took its toll on most, but not the dogged warriors that donned the crests of the Old Guards. Rather, they were younger than they seemed to be called as such. Even Airin would not dare to compare her youthful peers to that of the Order's finest. Otrygg was the only one deserving of that title, so contemplated Airin. Donning black and red, the woman had made sure to present herself proper for the occasion. Elegant attires were too loose for her liking, let alone its practicality. Protective posture was only as good as one capable with their arms. Before long, the two had stumbled upon a certain man in their wake. Airin studied Otrygg's gestures, then that of their assailant. Strangers seem to know more about Otrygg than she does. When Otrygg made his peace with the northern lands, she was but a bairn on the streets of Trentino. Airin shot a glance at Volkov, then a slight bow with her hand upon her chest.

"We are no stranger to these halls as ye to yer charge's whereabouts, Lord Volkov." Airin addressed with a courteous smile.

"I'm sure we'll ken a way to inform ye when we do, milord. It would not do well ta miss an exalted being on this important day, would it, my Lord Commander?" she added, veering her eyes towards Otrygg.

'Phoenix Princess' Miriam
Eldest Daughter of the South

Uasal Uasal
"Lady Miriam of the South, I didn't expect you to be the curious type. Honestly, I expected you to be shining your brother's shoes for tonight's ball... that or running away" A contemptuous voice suddenly sprang out from the bustle of working servants. Miriam, who had been staring into space imagining the ballroom as it might be come this evening, snapped back to reality. She turned, slowly and deliberately to show whoever it was that was speaking that she wasn't going to react to such simple provocation.

She looked her adversary in the eye. it was a woman, with long, braided silver hair and eyes equally as silver. A Knight stood by her side. He had no weapon, but rather an assortment of empty weapon handles on his hip. Clearly a royal from the northern kingdom. If she recalled correctly there were two northern daughter, just as there was in the south. This girl looked pretty grown up, probably close to her own age. Not the younger daughter then. In that case, this must be Lady Braska of the North. The stories described her ambition as matched only by her ruthlessness. No wonder she was starting fights so quickly.

"You must be Lady Braska, Eldest daughter of the North. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I suppose I should have expected for you to come here before the evening's events. I hope you find yourself in good company." Miriam spoke calmly, decidedly ignoring Braska's derogatory comments. She glanced toward the knight closely following the northern princess, measuring him up. He seemed decent enough, though something about his air seemed unsociable. Or maybe that was just Braska's personality overshadowing the knight.

Lady Braska of the North

Braska was somewhat disappointed when Miriam showed not a single hint of displeasure in reaction to her previous provocation. The Northern Princess didn't know whether or not this was due to the Southern Princess' reputation of being passive or due to the fact the Southern Princess was well raised and educated. Either way, Braska was displeased with the result. There was no pint in further antagonising the Princess and so Braska moved to fold her arms and her gaze shifted to that of the ballroom while Miriam addressed her.

The ballroom was as magnificent as Braska could remember, colossal in size with beautiful paintings and ornaments dawning the four walls. The servants were busy within preparing for the night ahead, the floor was being scrubbed, walls were being dusted and the musicians stand was being carefully constructed. Every servant within was at the top of their game and each and everyone was working carefully to ensure not a single imperfection would be found during the big event. Tonight was an important night after all, not just for the central kingdom but for all. Although Braska did have to wonder how many couples would actually be happy with their pairings? She herself couldn't really see herself being all too bothered by the arrangement unless it was an Heir who was to take her hand or someone who would actively work again her aims to seize the throne. But then again there had to be many who openly detested the idea of arranged marriage in its entirety and for that reason tonight would most certainly see a few upsets. Perhaps even a few tantrums.

Returning her gaze to the Southern Princess Braska gave her reply alongside a soft smile and chuckle "You know of me? This brings me great joy, I'm happy to see that at least your political education has yet to go to waste. Have you too come to scout the battlefield of your fate?" Shifting her gaze once again back to the ballroom Braska continued "Now that you're here gazing upon the site what say you? Is it a sight of romance or do you feel a part of you slowly dying within?"

"And I good sir will hold you to that." Noelani replied simply. Times like this she wished the kingdoms weren't ever at war, that some peaceful solution could've been reached before now, and without the marriage arrangements by the Queen. Then perhaps she'd have gotten to know people like this man sooner, and been friends. She still very much wanted friendships with the people she met here no matter where they hailed from...but she also knew depending on where she was sent she might go back to never really seeing them. "Oo if that becomes your plan once again please due tell me! I've always had a knack for slipping out of boring events." She giggled knowing how much her own servants and officials hated when she did that. But she was a wild spirit that couldn't be contained.

"Your princess is quite lucky, and I can't wait to meet her. If you cannot attend with your princess, we can always come up with a reason for you to attend with me! Truth be told if it'll be entertaining my countrymen will certainly go along with it. I can be the spoiled princess who can't bare to go too long without my trustee theme music, which only you know how to play." She Laughed before hearing the words 'Lalo' called out which caught the man's attention.

She couldn't help but giggle thinking that it must be some sort of nickname for him. It was adorable. "Nice to meet you too!" She chimed hearing the girl introduce herself followed by Lalo's introduction. She giggled seeing the girl take off her shoes and quickly followed suit, "Now that's what I like to see." She hummed and climbed up. She looked over at Lalo with a grin, "It's fine If any western knights come by they know me well enough to know that no one is a worse influence on me than myself." She laughed. "Ahh how I wish there were some really tall tree's around here to relax in." She wondered if she could find some outside the castle walls.

Eliot
Younger Prince of the West

Eliot opened the trunk which held his belongings and grinned as he haphazardly pulled out a long shaft with a wrapped tip out from under the clothes. He shouldn't have brought his spear, but he couldn't dare think to leave it behind. It was a memento, and to leave it behind just felt wrong, regardless of whether or not. He gently replaced the spear and made sure it was under garments such as lounge wear and underwear, things the servants shouldn't bother to touch. It would have to stay in his room. His weapon would be too noticeable, and he would for sure be in trouble the moment it left his room. He hated the rules, and he hated this entire plan. It was fairly short sighted and hasty, but that was just the two obvious points. What if his spouse loved someone else? It wasn't as though Eliot's lineage was hard to identify by any means. His Coralin features of the aqua hair and ability to manipulate water flow would instantly give away if the child was his, or not.

Being a bastard himself, Eliot was more scared for the potential of a bastard child for the child's sake more than his own reputation. What was the point of saving his face anyways? People had already dragged him through the muck for being a bastard. He had vowed to take responsibility for his new spouse and whatever children they might have, regardless of who they loved or whose child they bore. The thought that terrified him the most was simply a matter of acceptance. He was ready to accept whoever he was wed to, but he knew that didn't entitle them to accept him. Eliot felt his spine tingle thinking about it. It would be easy for his spouse to hate him much the same way his mother's husband did. She could also be as distant as his father or as passive aggressive as his step mother.

Regardless, all of that wouldn't matter likely once the ball rolled around. No, he fully expected to become the entire talk for the rest of the stay here after tonight. He had never met Queen Jade, and he wondered what kind of woman she was. Regardless, he hoped she was decent enough to take what he would say this evening to any form of heart. If not, he would have his answer on exactly what kind of person 'grandmother' was. This feeling had only intensified when he set eyes on the palace. He was curious even more, and that made him want to go through with this stupid idea even more. He didn't doubt it would do very little to change her mind, but if after the fires were done flaring and he could come to some agreement with her on this matter he would be happy.

Eliot decided now would be a good time to get some fresh air and left his room. Descending the stairs was more tedious than tiring, but once he was finally down on ground level he walked outside and into the gardens. After a very short time he heard voices and looked over to where the source was. He smiled when he saw Noelani, and then there were the other two people he didn't know. Of course when he heard the conversation he grinned mischievously.

"My oh my, what a scandal that would be. If you plan to sneak my dear sister away along with this young lady, I'm sorry to say that the argument is probably going to most definitely evolve to that," Eliot said with a smile that was doing a pretty bad job at hiding his devilish intentions. He then leaned over to Lalo in an intimidating fashion and said lowly, "The price of tainting a princess's purity is high, and not easily forgiven."

He remained that way to let that sink in, then leaned back and laughed heartily. "Ah, but I'm joking. The only worse influence in all the Western Kingdom is yours truly, the second prince. Otherwise more popularly known as Eliot the Bastard."

His mischievous grin returned again as he said, "If you really don't want to be found out, I'd suggest a more private location. There you could do whatever you wished with two lovely young ladies." He ushered the second two parts with a rather uncomfortably suggestive tone to it then burst out laughing again. Once he calmed down he looked at them and offered his hand to Lalo. "Jesting aside, I do hope we can get along. Might I have your name?"

===================

Lalilu's chuckling smile shrank to a stoic glare as someone approached the designated relaxation area of the garden, complete with fountain for walking on top of. Though the voice and grin suggested this character was one Mr Lelo should stay wary of. As the young man leaned close to the bard Lalo remained standing casually with his thumbs behind his belt so his hands can hang unimpressed by his side.

do not make a joke, do not make a joke... oh the look on his face would be priceless.
Why i tainted both these lovely ladies just a moment ago. But there's only one head to place upon a spear...
Perhaps the kingdoms can take turns with the weapon, like the two princesses did.

A flicker of a smile happened but Lalo noticed The man was laughing so he to gave a laugh to appear like Lalilu the bard paid attention to everyone, and not just beautiful princesses.
The youngest Prince Eliot. Or Eliot the bastard... curious title.
The suggestion of somewhere private was taken as a joke before the bastard could suggest the jesting. Of course a actual bastard may offer his sister to a stranger with a laugh... Lalo had no way of knowing,

"Forgive my manners, Prince the bastard"
Lalo bowed like he would for any royalty, the eastern princes wouldn't shake his hand and they are animal obsessed loving sorts. Towards family anyway... it's obvious to Lalo not to offend royalty by touching or saying something to offend.
Standing up and moving to stand beside Hana he continued...
"my pleasure to meet you. I am Lalilu Lelo. Hired by The eastern kingdom to serve Princess Hana as a servant and Muscian."
Standing stark still beside Hana and making a obvious show of good behaviour in front of Waboe who seemed to be walking over with a twinge of worry in his aged face.
"this beautiful young lady is princess Hana. The eastern kingdoms precious jewel of a daughter..."
As Waboe was now in earshot Lalo went the extra step.

"I understand the appeal of making jokes, but I could never comprehend what someone as lowly as myself would do with such lovely ladies in a moment of private. Prince the bastard"
Kneeling beside his princess, head bowed down to hide any chance of a smirk.
All lies of course. But the time spent in the East has done wonders for Lalo's confidence. He can bend the truth and much worse while keeping sincerity present in his tone.

Waboe wasn't having any of that however, swiftly pulling Lalo by his hair to his feet.
"ah ah ah what are you doing Waboe!!"
Lalo scowl trying not to scream out from the shock. Teach him not to pay attention maybe.

"forgive this one's tongue, he is accustomed to a simpler life and his humour is more foolish"
Waboe bowed his head as he violently forced Lalo to do the same. Quickly directing him away from royalty. Lalo moved with little resistance apart from swatting at Waboe's meaty grip of hair.
Finally letting go once out of the garden.
"You damn near took my scalp!"
"You damn near deserve it"

“How are you today Firmin?” the twins asked in unison.

At this point, Firmin was so out of it that he barely registered either of the twins' presence until they were right in his face. His head jerked upwards to meet their gaze in a somewhat futile attempt to seem attentive. Two young men stood far too close to Firmin for comfort, wearing matching mischievous grins that searched his baggy eyes for a response that wasn't quite there yet.

Think fast. It would only be a few seconds before this silence became awkward. All Firmin had to do was act naturally. His mind worked, turning over possible responses in his head, trying desperately to remember basic rules of courtesy, but in that panicked moment, the only answer he could produce was a loud "YES"

Well, fuck.

Firmin knew at that moment that he was in no condition to be seen in public, starving and sleep-deprived as he was. The next step, then, was to excuse himself to... somewhere. A place where he could lay down and rethink his life, maybe. Shame was already setting in and the panic still lingered in his head... as well as thoughts of a warm feather-bed and a giant roast chicken. Firmin opened his mouth, thinking he had the proper phrasing down, but what came out instead was a mess of stutters.

"E-e-e-excuse me.... I'm going to do...... a roast chicken............."

With that, Firmin shouldered his way past the twins and the prince, with the certainty that he'd lost his sanity, his dignity, his reputation, his sense of direction and purpose, and a partridge in a pear tree.
