The Fall of Wonderland [Inactive]

"I need your opinion on a matter." Alice says slowly, beckoning Chloe to join her by the castle's balcony. "Rabbit has finally gotten some of those petty surface dwellers down here... I'm tossing up between what I should test them with. More than likely they will attract that damned Cat and that insufferable Caterpillar, they can never mind any of their own stupid business, huh?" She rambles on for a few moments, Chloe was basically the only one who she would ever speak her mind to, she coulden't quite place it, but there was just something about her that made her so trustworthy, though having a Jaberwocky form was always a great benefit as well. "Hmm... Yes, anyway, what do you think? Perhaps I could send more card-soldiers? Oh, what about the Bandersnatch?" Alice's mind raced with the possibilities, though the imagery of them being ripped apart was quite exciting for her, she realized that perhaps she could take out two birds with one stone if the surface dwellers gathered the last scraps of Wonderland that didn't bend to her whim.

(OOC: Sorry for not posting for the last few days, my appendix randomly ruptured on me so I was pretty catatonic for the last few days, but they gave me a computer finally so I can respond to posts again ^_^ )
 
Chloe smiled. Strange it may be, but she loved listening to Alice. She loved getting to voice her opinions even more. Chloe sat on the balcony, legs dangling over the side. "What if, instead of just playing with the surface dwellers physically, we play with them mentally as well?" She suggested, biting her lip. It was only half an idea but she hoped Alice liked it.
 
Curiosity got the best of the Mad Hatter, so she decided to head over to where the voices were coming from. On the way there, she spotted a puddle of murky water on the forest floor. "Oh look, my tea seems to be ready!" she said while scooping some of it up into a leave she had picked up a while ago. Every few steps she'd take a sip of the infested water, and each time she'd cringe at the taste. "Delicious," she whispered.


The voices were getting louder as she got closer. Strange, she thought. If they were going to attack me, they would have done it by now. They know the Queen would have their heads if they- Oh wait, silly me~ the new Queen wouldn't just chop off their heads, her punishments make death seem like the easy way out... Still nothing came out to get her. She frowned. Looks like she would have to make her own grand entrance. "I thought I told you all to keep it down over here! I bet you soldiers are trying to do your job with capturing me and all, but at least let me find my food in-" She stopped mid-sentence when she saw the strange group in the middle of the forest. Her frown crept up into a crooked grin that rivaled the Cheshire's. "Ah, what a surprise. If it isn't my good o' friends Cheshire, Absolem, Dee and Dum." she cooed, looking to each of them. "And you even brought some surface dwellers with you as well? My, oh my, my day just keeps getting better and better by the second!" Katerina took another sip out of the leave, cringing at the taste again. "Would anyone care for some tea?" she asked, holding up the leave to everyone.
 
Dee apologized to Absolem for his sister's behavior. She was hard to predict most times and one of those times was now. She had caught sight of Cheshire sitting upon one of the Surface dwellers' shoulders and raced towards them arms outstretched, dead set on suffocating Cheshire with a hug. Dee tried to restrain her but because he wasn't physically capable of stopping an excited Dum, he let her go and followed behind interested in speaking to William.


"Hello there. My name is Tweedledee. I am sorry our queen has ordered you to be brought here, it is truly a terrible thing." He sympathized. With the entrance of the Hatter, Dee turned and waved to her. He saw the murky tea she was drinking and internally shuddered. Probably not even tea. He thought.
 
William looked over as a girl holding a leaf, together with what seemed to be her "tea" walked out from the bushes. It seemed as she was from here as well, more and more people or creatures, were gathering here. He didn't like how so many of them gathered here, but wouldn't leave the rest of the group. Survival was best in a group, they could support each other and cover each other's weaknesses.


"I pass, maybe another time," William said and smiled to the girl, as she seemed harmless. She had the advantage of being in the bushes, if she wanted to attack, she would have.


Then the girl from the twins walked over to him, grabbing the Chesire off his shoulders and squeezing it. William was never a fan of close contact, it was a good thing it was the cat and not him. The boy tried to stop him, but seemed to easily give up as he might be the one who had most of his sanity between any of the other persons he had met so far. The boy introduced himself as Tweedledee, what a long and unusual name. Then again, nothing here was ordinary, why would their names be?


"Hello, since you are apologizing on your Queen's behalf, I take it you are not too fond of the Queen's actions?" William said, avoiding answering back with his name, as he liked keeping information about himself to himself, but he didn't brush away coldly
 
Cheshire chuckled at William's reply; he was growing fond of the boy, as he answered back and held a certain charm, not unlike Alice, before she became a power hungry dictator.


"Yes, our Queen is quite special, and you're spot on, everyone is mad here, but since you're here that makes you mad to~"


Laughing once again Cheshire noticed the Mad Hatter barge out of the brush well look at what the cat dragged in, assuming a cat that can go invisible like myself dragged the Mad Hatter here in her former glory.


The Mad Hatter did look like she'd seen better days, offering filthy, 'tea' from a makeshift tea cup and her appearance was rather ghastly, her black hair was a rat's nest and her already pale skin looked like a white sheet.. Even though Cheshire was 'acquaintances' with the Mad Hatter there was nothing he could do for her, after all he was a cat, a cat that could teleport, go invisible, and grin ear to ear but nevertheless something else had to happen in order for her become the Mad Hatter again. Cheshire wasn't going to pretend defeating the queen would solve all the problems, but it would certainly help as she was the catalyst, and maybe it would snap the Mad Hatter back to her former madness.


Deep in thought Cheshire didn't notice Dum come up to him and squeeze the life out of him.


"My dear Dum, I appreciate the thought but…cat's like their personal space."


Disappearing from her arms her arms he reappeared this time on the Mad Hatters right shoulder.


"Why I'm glad you're here my dear, we were just about to start a lovely tea party, of course we'll use another brand of tea, but thank you for your offer, by the way, what do you think of the newcomers? They seem like rebellious folks, especially that William bloke; I bet he could handle a scrap with the queen." He informed her.
 
"Hmm..." Alice responds to Chloe, savoring the image of one of the surface dwellers suffering some from mental attack. "Oh, that would be rather ghastly. But how? Perhaps I could cast a nice little illusion that would horrify them, or..." She falls silent for a moment, running through multiple scenarios in her head, until one particular idea attracts her attention and she snaps her fingers as though she experienced a moment of brilliance. "Got it! What about... no, wait, that would likely cause them to rip their own heads off. Can't have that." She says as she crosss her arms over, staring intently at the ground before giving a little shrug. "I suppose we could let the Hellions loose on them."





Hellions were rather terrible tricksters of Alice's own creations. One of her first, actually, when her insanity was most fresh, but not quite so sickening. The Hellions looked like spectral mice, rather innocent and harmless looking at a glance, but they had the ability to mimic the voice of anyone or anything they could hear, and so have been the cause of many heartbreaks and broken friendships since their creation. They are perhaps one of Alice's most simple creations, but can cause alot of trouble nonetheless.
 
Not exactly what I had in mind, but it still works! Chloe nodded, her smile brighter than ever. "Since there are a pack of them, I think weakening them mentally before their slaughter would be entertaining, to say the least!" She stood, dusting her bottom half. "But we also have the element of betrayal that could be toyed with. What if, under our influence.. One of them slaughtered the rest?" She paused for a moment, feeling suddenly nauseous. Her smile faded into a frown. "No.. Nevermind.. I'm not sure that would work." Chloe looked at her feet, feeling like a failure.

Absolem licked his lips. How unfortunate. Alice had the upper hand here, for she knew of the presence of the Occasionally, he would cough out smoke, which would float into letters.


"They should B coming soon, I suppose," he mumbled, "The frumious Bandersnatch. Or the Jubjub bird. Jabberwock, hm, not likely. She hasn't the Snark, not quite... Perhaps the Hellions. Ah, yes. There we R. We shall C you better, perhaps, if U didn't Cm yourself at all. Recite 'How Doth the Busy Little Bee.'"
 
The Hatter returned the wave to Dee and then shrugged at the man that had passed on drinking her tea. "Suit yourself. More for me then," she said, gulping down the rest of the dirty liquid. She then crumpled the used leaf in her hands and tossed it back into a bush behind her. "Oh, where are my manners? My name is Katerina Sarac, otherwise known as the Mad Hatter, though I still don't know where I got the name from. Now, this is the part where you introduce yourself to me, boy. Same goes for the rest of you surface dwellers," she said, eyeing the others.


Katerina didn't look the least bit surprised when Cheshire disappeared and reappeared on her shoulder. Her grin widened even more at the mention of a tea party. "Oh goody! Just in time~ And what do I think of this group? Hmm..." She took a quick glance at the the four before turning back to the cat. "An interesting bunch, I'll say. And the one you called Matthew, was it? With those scrawny arms, I'd be surprised if he could get past the guards. But nevertheless, they probably won't last very long, especially if they stay in this forest. And if I were them, I'd get rid of the 'extra baggage'. If that girl doesn't wake up, then she's as good as food for the Jabberwocky. And Cheshire," she started, ripping off the sharpest branch she could find in a nearby tree. "I'd appreciate it if you'd get off my shoulder. You know, personal space and all." She changed her grip on the stick and thrust the pointed end towards Cheshire's head.


The Mad Hatter's smile faded when she heard mumbling coming from Absolem. "The Hellions? What is this nonsense you speak of, Caterpillar? The Hellions don't inhabit this forest." She tightened her grip on the sharpened stick. If this guy was just messing with their heads, he would pay the price, but if he wasn't...then things were about to take a turn for the worst.
 
Taking the sight of her equally stretched grin Cheshire listened to her opinions. His tail twitched when she called William by the wrong name and told him that basically her hopes weren't high for this bunch. A little annoyed at how quick the Mad Hatter was to judge and how she looked at things from a narrowed point of view, Cheshire rolled his eyes but nonetheless kept grinning, after all what kind of grinning cat would he be if he lost his grin? The answer to that would be...nothing! Because there's no such thing as a cat without a grin, what a inconceivable idea! Honestly, sometimes I give myself chills.


Chuckling to himself Cheshire turned back to the Hatter. "My dear, pure brawn would just squash the cake, but agility would slice it into fine pieces, I'm sure William will make it far, as for the others well...just look at the girl you called 'extra baggage' though I guess I shouldn't play favorites, after all the tables can always turn, no matter what side you're on."


Still unmoving, even when the Hatter brandished a stick at him Cheshire laughed before jumping off her shoulder and going back to William's shoulder, teleporting of course.


Cheshire's grin didn't drop when Absolem spoke, but it didn't widen either. His opinion on him wasn't high, as he was very self conceited however he did take his words to heart, after all a case of broken prophecy is better than no prophecy at all....or is it the other way around? I guess it depends on the type of person.


"I would flee while you still can, unless you're deaf of course," Cheshire informed William, with a slight cackle towards the end.
 
William listened to the cat's advise, and nodded as he looked over to the others. It was definitely high time to leave, it seemed as someone or something was coming. It wasn't a good idea to stay in the beginning as the one who brought them here in the beginning had to know where she or he left them, if he was alone he would have started to move a long time ago.


"I'll take your tea another time, my dear Katerina," William said and bowed politely to the lady as she was clearly not at her full five, but it had probably something to do with this crazy forest, the cat said it himself. Everyone was mad here, especially him that started to gain trust in a talking cat.


"I'll take my leave then, we better get moving before they come. These creatures known as Hellions for the rest of these who are not from where we obviously are," William said and started to walk north from where they had woken up, at a good pace so the rest of the group could see where he was going.
 
Pitter patter, pitter patter.





The small noises of a dormouse weaving and climbing through the undergrowth echoed in a nearby bramble thicket. The tip of it's petal pink nose hovered above the dirt floor, the distinct smell of a fallen berry wafting through the mouse's nostrils. She poked her soft furry head out of the bush, letting out a squeak of glee as the luscious purple berry came into her sights. Carefully creeping out of the prickly shrub, the mouse swooped the berry into it's small paws, and began munching away until the fruit was gone.


With a bit of purple juice staining the fur around her mouth, the mouse let out a satisfied sigh before skittering back into the undergrowth.


Oh, how I miss the delectable smell of tea and sweet tarts. I wish the Hatter had saved a few crumbs before she went mad. The mouse climbed through a few branches lined with thorns, diving from bush to bush to remain hidden.


~"I'll take my leave then, we better get moving before they come. These creatures known as Hellions for the rest of these who are not from where we obviously are..."


The dormouse skidded to a halt at the sudden voice. Her pink ears flicked back and forth gently as she strained to listen.


"Could that be dear Cheshire? No... It couldn't be. His voice is far more distinct than that." The dormouse murmured in a quiet, high pitched voice. Scrambling after the cause of the sound quickly, the mouse popped her head out of another shrub. Adelina blinked her large brown eyes rapidly, recognizing the familiar figures of Cheshire, the Hatter, Dee and Dum, and even Absolem. But she did not recognize the other members that sat among the group.


Trailing out cautiously, Adelina crept into the open clearing in front of a boy (William), and Cheshire, who seemed to be sitting comfortably on his shoulder. Squeaking a bit in alarm, she rolled out of the way from under the boy's foot, her fragile heart pounding in her rib cage. Before the boy took another step towards her, Adelina shifted into her human form, and stood blocking the boy's way. She stared at him for a moment or two, cocking her head to the side before saying:


"You almost crushed me..."





Two, big circular mouse ears sat atop her head, along with a thin tail that hovered behind her. Her brown, doe-like eyes were beautifully large, and she had short auburn hair that barely reached to her shoulders.


"Hi Cheshire. Is something going on?" The girl asked in a small, innocent tone, flashing a sleepy smile to the cat and the others.

Just when William was about to leave, a person with apparently mouse ears appeared in front of him. He wasn't the least surprised as he stood almost unfazed by the girl's sudden appearance.


"You almost crushed me..." The girl told him before she turned and began talking to Chesire who was still sitting on his shoulder for some reason. Exactly what he needed, more people on their way to the clearing, more attention. At the very least this girl seemed sane. Well that word was soon no longer worth anything in this part of the world.


"I shall be more careful where I step next, it won't repeat itself. I sincerely apologize," William apologized to the mouse girl, as he smiled to her, and began walking past her. He didn't want to stay any longer, something was on its way, and William did not want to be there once they arrived.
 
Still on William's shoulder thought he heard something, a small squeak...once that was awfully familiar. Shrugging it off Cheshire kept still on William's shoulder. That is until a familiar mouse scurried into a human form that consisted of a girl wearing a dress with chocolate brown eyes and mouse like features.


"Adelina my dear! It's been a long time, or has time taken a standstill? Wouldn't be the first time."


Cheshire was fond of the Adelina, which was an oh so obvious irony but since when did Cheshire go by stereotypes? Jumping off of William Cheshire decided to transform into his human form, a form he rarely used, to greet an old friend. His human form was an odd one to say the least, striking pink hair, purple ears and tale, emerald eyes, long fluffy boa, and strange markings covering his torso were some of the few details that made up his human side. Of course his trademark grin was always there, even in his human form. Putting an arm around Adelina proceeded to give her the run down.


"Well it seems Alice started a new game, one that I intend to get involved in. As of right now, I'm guiding a young bloke called William, who I daresay reminds me a lot of our dear Alice, before insanity caught up with her. I feel like just maybe...this one will be able to clip the thorns right off the throne, and give Wonderland a much needed pruning, who knows? Maybe the Mad Hatter might go back to her former glory if this plan works," Cheshire explained to her.
 
"Adelina my dear! It's been a long time, or has time taken standstill? Wouldn't be the first time."


The familiar chime of Cheshire's voice rang in the girl's ears, causing them to flicker slightly. She watched Cheshire jump down from the boy's shoulders, and trail towards her with his tail waving in the air. In seconds, he stood in front of her, transformed into his human form. Smiling sleepily, she felt an arm curl around her shoulders and the comforting voice of Cheshire once more. Adelina nodded slowly as he informed her of the new happenings, letting out a small adorable yawn as he spoke.


However, the girl's doe-like eyes lit up like a firework when Cheshire finished his last remaining sentence;


"I feel like just maybe... this one will be able to clip the thorns right off the throne, and give Wonderland a much needed pruning, who knows? Maybe the Mad Hatter might go back to her former glory if this plan works..."


An excited squeak escaped her small lips, and she found herself wiggling out of Cheshire's grasp, unable to contain her happiness. Skipping over to William, she stood in front of him and placed her gentle hands on his shoulders, stopping him in his place. A wide smile played across her lips as she stared at him, cocking her head to the side.


"If what Cheshire says is true, maybe there truly is a reason why you are here..." The girl's eyes trailed to the side for a moment, as if in deep thought. Than her eyes lit up again, and she squeaked excitedly.





"That's it! That's why your here! To save Wonderland!" Adelina exclaimed, pulling William into a tight hug and almost twirling him around in a circle. After her small celebration, she finally separated herself from William. Taking his hands in hers, Adelina laughed quietly and leaned in towards him.


"If Cheshire has hope in you, I do too." The girl whispered in a soft voice that was unheard by the others. With a small smile, Adelina let go of his hands and backed away a bit. She could see he was in a hurry. No need to keep him waiting any longer.





"Let's go. If what Absolem speaks of is true, we should hurry." Adelina nodded in Cheshire's direction, beginning to trail up the hill and flicking her long tail from side to side.

The Hatter smirked when Cheshire was defending William. "You make it sound like the boy has a fighting chance. I guess if he is more than just a pretty face then maybe, just maybe, if the stars are aligned just right and he plays his cards right, he could at least...make it out of the forest alive. I still have low hopes for the others though." She huffed when the cat dodged her makeshift weapon. She didn't think it would hit him, but it was worth a shot.


Katerina flinched slightly at the mention of the Hellions again. "If what the Caterpillar says is right, then the Queen has officially started the game, and she has already made the first move. Those ghastly little beasts drive me insane. Well, even more than-" All of a sudden, a fragile young woman, otherwise known as the Dormouse, appeared in front of the scrawny surface dweller. Katerina ran up to the woman and grabbed her by the shoulders to make sure she was real. It wouldn't be the first time the Hatter had seen an illusion of the girl. "My sweet Adelina! It is been so long! How has my favorite Dormouse been lately? Have you kept the house warm while I have been gone?" The last time she saw the girl was right before she was captured by Alice. She could vaguely remember the tea parties they had together, but none of that mattered to her, at least, not at the moment.


The Mad Hatter laughed hysterically, almost maniacally at the mention of the surface dwellers being the 'Saviors of Wonderland'. When she finally calmed down, she wiped a tear from her eye and faced Adelina. "I beg to differ, my darling. Alice must be getting bored of her old playtoys, so she sent out her lackeys to go get new ones. That's their only purpose for being here: as entertainment for our dear Queen, just like the rest of us. And she's gonna have one hell of a time with these poor souls." She sped up her pace so she was a few meters ahead of the group.
 
The fragile woman let out a squeak of surprise as Katerina grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders. She blinked rapidly, a smile pulling at the corner of her lips at the familiar voice of the Hatter. But a sharp pang of hurt hit straight through her tiny heart as she saw the condition of Katerina. Her black hair was knotted in several places, along with visible patches of brown dirt that littered among her pale complexion. The memories of the Hatter being taken away by Alice flooded back to the Dormouse in horrific images. She stared off into space for a moment or two, and than suddenly shook her head out of the daze as Katerina spoke.





"My sweet Adelina! It is been so long! How has my favorite Dormouse been lately? Have you kept the house warm while I have been gone?"


The girl's smiled dropped off her face at mention of the old house, and she glanced at the ground below as if embarrassed.


"I thought maybe you had heard already, Hatter.." Adelina entwined her fingers together, and looked back towards the Katarina with a look of desperation on her soft face.


"Alice's guards took over the entire part of the forest. The last thing I saw was a guard throwing a bucket of fire over the house. I was forced to leave it behind in ruins... I'm s-sorry, Katerina! I wanted to stay and fight, but you know how weak I am." The girl almost looked ashamed. Her mouse ears drooped until they were pressed against her head, and Adelina stared at her feet.


However, the Hatter's mad laughter didn't make the Dormouse feel much better. A red shade tainted the girl's cheeks until her face was as red as a rose.


"I beg to differ, my darling. Alice must be getting bored of her old playtoys, so she sent out her lackeys to go get new ones. That's their only purpose for being here: as entertainment for our dear Queen, just like the rest of us. And she's gonna have one hell of a time with these poor souls."


Adelina shuddered at the thought, trying to push the hellish thoughts out of her fragile mind. The thought of William or the other group members being tortured crushed her poor heart. Alice would not get away with this...

Alice pouted her lips for a moment seeing Chloe looking timidly at her feet, she sometimes forgot that her pet was such a fragile creature, despite her terrific other form. "What are you talking about, thats an excellent idea! In fact..." Alice clicks her fingers again, though this time a series of sparks shoot out from her hand and play in the air for a moment before dissipating, leaving only a rotting smell in its wake. "I think the Hellions will like the idea as well, should be fun to see, which one murders the others." She lets out a little cackle as she claps her hands in excitement, skipping happily back into her throne room and taking a seat.


Deep in the forest where the group had gathered, a high-pitched scream echos through the area for a split second before going silent again. A few moments later, a few of the Hellions seemingly crawl out of the ground, blazing red eyes were the first to be seen, then patchy spectral fur, a sniffling snout, and finally long clawed feet. The first to pull itself from the earth stands on its hind feet, smelling the air for a moment before darting into the undergrowth, its squad following swiftly behind, ready to reign havoc.


Alice picks up her book again, flicking to a seemingly random page and staring at it intently. Shortly after, the ink on the page rearranges itself, giving a live-feed image of exactly what the Hellions were seeing. This was how Alice was able to enjoy her games without being there in the flesh, though sometimes she did like seeing certain things in person. "Lets take bets. I bet you a juicy meal and a cup of tea that the Hatter is the first to snap." She calls out.


 
Relieved that Alice had liked her idea after all, Chloe joined in on the laughter. She started pondering which of her old friends would be first to give in. No, they weren't your friends. They would have saved you. Alice is the only one who truly cares. "I think the Hatter has already snapped, there's no more of her left to break. My bet is on that mouse, and once the mouse goes the cat will surely crack." She said, with an odd look of determination on her face.
 
A loud, piercing scream cut through the air, causing the entire group to go silent. Adelina's ears pressed against her head in fear, and she hid her small frame behind Katerina's back.


"T-t-that scream... What did it come from?" The mouse girl whispered in a voice softer than her usual tone. Her doe-like eyes flicked around the area frantically, the tiny heart trapped in her rib cage beginning to race. As a dormouse, there isn't much she can do to protect the others, and even herself. The only thing Adelina was good at was staying hidden, or completely fleeing from the situation. But this was the first time in a long while the mouse had spoken to an actual being. Why would she leave now?


The girl's round ears flicked back and forth, the sound of rustling bushes and claws kicking up dirt echoing from straight ahead. Of course, only Adelina and Cheshire would be able to hear the noise because of their animal-like traits. Glancing over at Cheshire, the mouse began slowly backing away towards the hill.


"T-there coming this way..." Adelina whispered, her small hands beginning to shake in fear.
 
William was completely taken off guard by Adelina's sudden shoulder grab and her sudden happiness, as she let out a small happy squeak. Even more sudden, she pulled him into a tight hug and was about to twirl him around in circles. William didn't have enough time to react to her happy dances, as she grabbed his hands and told him. Once she let go of his hands, William fixed his mask to stay on top of his nose again, as it was a habit to not reveal his identity, but it seemed as the cat already knew his name: "If Chesire has hopes in you, I do too,"


Save Wonderland? Me give this world a pruning? Are they planning for me to take over the throne or something? The only thing I'm planning on doing is get out of here, but there's no need to tell her that. She seems certain that I will save this world. Even less do I believe that Chesire has hopes in me, but he has taken a liking to me. William thought as he tried to catch up on what had happened when Adelina broke out into a sudden happiness.


Katerina, also known as the Mad Hatter, did not seem very fond of him at all. She had no hopes in him whatsoever, but that didn't matter. Hope didn't get him out of here alive, and the game as they continuously called it... that was the true reason for them being here. The Queen had brought them here for a reason, it was time to take action. A scream was heard in the distance, as it clearly shook up Adelina, it scared her, but William thought nothing of it. Nothing except of not being there when the source of the screams came into the clearing.


"I'm not going to stay here until they come. Feel free to join me, or stay behind. The choice is yours to make," William said to the rest of the group of humans that had been brought her with him, as he began walking deeper into the forest.

Cheshire watched the girl embrace William with a mischievous gleam in his eyes. He didn't mean to put that much hope on William but either way, it was done. Now Adelina had complete faith that William would save Wonderland. Now he didn't expect William to kick the queen of the throne and become the ruler, he was actually hoping a democracy would pop up as that was all the rage these days. Then of course the Hatter decided to gush over Adelina and serve her the cold hard truth, which Cheshire had no qualms over it, after all Cheshire wasn't any better at times. After the Hatters and Adelina’s reunion Cheshire hear a noise, which made him hone in on it until he fully understood what it was, he saw Adelina heard it as well.


Hellions huh...honestly I would have thought Alice would have grown tired of those rascals...


Transforming into his cat form again Cheshire went back to William’s shoulder.


"William, it seems we have company, sooner or later you'll have to make a choice, fight or flee, and that choice will have to be decided soon," Cheshire warned him. "Haste makes waste, so I rarely hurry, but I'm afraid you don't have that luxury."
 
"I think I shall be taking my leave, but first-"


William walked away. Absolem scowled.


"No, wait! I have something important to say!"


Absolem coughed wildly as he shrunk until he was exactly three inches tall. His mushroom started floating in a purple smog. He sighed and took a puff from his hookah.


"That's better," he muttered as a caterpillar, "Now they shall not detect me."


This was blatantly not true, for the cloud swirling around him was conspicuous enough for even one of those gossipy Flowers to notice.


"Well, Hellions are obviously not found in the forest," the caterpillar muttered, "But then, neither are surface dwellers."

William looked over to see Chesire go back to his cat form, and once again sitting on his shoulder. The cat seemed to have grown very fond of him indeed, but it didn't hurt to have someone he could somewhat trust, if they only didn't speak in riddles. Absolem complained as William began taking his leave, and turned around to look at him, but he was already gone and then brushed it off, it was important he would have to tell him later.


"William, it seems we have company, sooner or later you'll have to make a choice, fight or flee, and that choice will have to be decided soon. Haste makes waste, so I rarely hurry, but I'm afraid you don't have that luxury." The cat told him as William smirked at the thought of having to decide.


"For now I'll try to avoid fights, but I have more than enough time to relax a little longer. I don't know what these Hellions are, but I would rather not find out. After all, if I don't have that luxury, I'll simply take it," William said and began walking into the forest, hopefully avoiding the creatures who were clearly on their way.
