The Hatter's grip tightened on Adelina's shoulders when the girl told her about her house. Her eyes glazed over as she imagined her house being destroyed by the card soldiers and her territory being taken over. The more she thought about it, the tighter her grip became on the poor girl's shoulders. "...Yes, yes. I suppose you couldn't do much considering you are just a Dormouse. But..." She finally came back to reality and released her grip from the Dormouse's shoulders. "It gives me yet another reason to bash Alice's head in and dance around in her blood." The Mad Hatter's crooked smile reappeared at the thought of killing Alice and putting an end to her reign for good.
Her happiness didn't last long, however. A loud, piecing screech echoed throughout the forest. In an instant, Adelina was right behind her, cowering in fear. Katerina thought she could feel Adelina's heart about to burst through her ribcage. The Hatter automatically grabbed the girl's hand, maybe to reassure the girl that they were going to get out of this situation in one piece, or to keep herself from losing her nerve. Even she wasn't quite sure.
The Hatter's eyes widened in fear when the Dormouse said the Hellions were coming.. "...I don't know about the rest of you all, but I'm not about to stick around and be victim to some of Alice's stupid creatures." She quickened her pace so that she was caught up with William. "At least you have the common sense not to try to fight those blasted creatures. Then again, if you did go after them, it would be your funeral and my perfect distraction to get away. So technically it is win-win either way."
