Futuristic The Experiments

Tasteless

Boink Bean

Monday, July 16th.

10:55Am.

Axle stood at the exit of the cargo plane, His younger sibling Vina at his side. Axle wore jet black jeans with a dark gray shirt that clung to his muscles in ways not many shirts could. His black leather belt glistening often as the stainless steel of his blades caught the lighting in the plane. Attached to his belt was a thick black pistol holster, to which a pistol was indeed tucked tightly inside.

Vina had her arms tightly behind her back in a respectful position as she stood beside her older, and far higher ranked sibling. Her glassy, aqua eyes seemed unfocused and not as if they belonged to her, as usual. She wore tightly fitted black jeans and a black tanktop that exposed the few tattoos that were branded into her porcelain skin. Her blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders like white silk. Her belt was also equipped with blades, some smaller, yet just a sharp as Axle's. She also had a rather large blade strapped to her right thigh, and a pistol holster attached to her belt.

The plane trembled lightly, and the windows along the sides, just above the seated teen experiments slid open with ease, lighting up the white inside of the plane.

Axle stood firmly as the plane made it's decent back toward the ground, rather quickly as it usually does. He inhales deeply, feeling the plane tremble more as it's wheels touch the smooth pavement of the landing pad just outside the housing center for the experiments. The plane eventually came to a stop, and the tight seatbelts that were around the teens was automatically released. Axle, nor Vina had spoken to the teenagers for the thirty-five minute flight. The majority didn't want to be here, and Axle couldn't blame them.

The exit to the cargo plane slowly opened up, allowing the bright morning light to pour into the large aircraft. Axle stood in place, before clearing his throat. "I am Axle, I am your mentor, and more importantly, your leader. You all may stand, and follow my sibling and I in an orderly-line." His voice was tough, deep, and held an intense power. His dark eyes flicked to every teenager inside the aircraft, before turning around and walking down the steps quickly, Vina following behind him.

Saul had been seated beside some teenage girl with brown, braided hair. Once the tight seatbelt released his hips he sighed heavily, his stomach stung lightly from the leather's tight grip. He looked up as Axle, their 'leader' began to speak. Axle was much larger, and clearly older than any of them. Once Axle turned, Saul stood up accompanied by the majority of the teens as everyone fell into line and began to follow the older siblings out of the cargo plane and into what seemed like a new world.

Lily walked behind the others, so she was in the very back of the line. She kept her blue eyes and and remained silent as a few others talked quietly.

Alex was tired. Extremely tired. Planes were like rocking chairs, except sometimes they rocked a bit too violently. He blinked once, and then the plane opened. He could actually keep his eyes open for a bit, due to this release of an amazing amount of light compared to the windows. He resisted the urge to walk out of the plane and bask in the sun. He sighed, then looked at the person who was standing up with an expectant expression.

He quietly laughed to himself as he listened to his new leader. The whole thing was oddly interesting. Other people could do things similar to what he could do, and that alone was enough to pique his interest. That and the fact that Alex and Axle's names were comprised of the same letters. He stood up, and walked in something of a line, wobbling out of place at times and possibly going to far ahead. He glanced around at everyone else in a moment of curiousness. What could they do? Better than him, at least. He noticed the weapons on his leader's belt. He noticed Axle's sibling also had a few weapons. What were they expecting? Wacky waving arm inflatable tube giraffes? A penguin juggling dynamite? He laughed to himself again, imagining a juggling penguin. He had almost forgotten he was actually walking in a straight, orderly line.

Brandon and Chase were seated next to each other in the back of the plane, or the front depending on how you looked at it. Both of them actually enjoyed flying, but they simultaneously gripped the edge of their seats as the plane rattled on its quick descent. When the plane landed, Chase was the first one to relax and he bumped Brandon, silently telling him it was over. Brandon turned and glared at him before bumping him back. They both paused their bumping fight and watched as the man named Axle as he made his speech. Chase got up as soon as the speech was over and rolled his shoulders and stretched. Brandon got up and rolled his shoulders too, which made a cracking noise. Chase looked back at him, wrinkling his nose in disgust. Brandon shrugged and smirked before stepping into line behind Chase. They followed the other teens outside and winced as their eyes met the morning light.

Yulani gripped the handle of the seat she was perched upon tightly, ignoring the roaring sensation of nausea which had made itself welcome in her stomach. She disliked planes. STRONGLY. She cautiously glanced at others before sliding down into her seat, willing herself not to be sick.

She looked at the man seated beside her before noticing the stillness of the plane and rejoicing at realizing it had stopped, this was short-lived as the entrance slid open revealing a man who stood directly outside. She listened intently to his instructions before unbuckling her belt and struggling against the urge to fall as she stood.

Axle led the group off the aircraft, his black combat boots clicked heavily against the smooth pavement. The sky was cloud-less and a deep shade of blue. He stopped before the massive building, taller than most buildings within the city. The building was a cream color, with sparkling clean glass windows that are crystal clear.

Axle turns toward the group, and Vina stops beside him. "This is the facility. Your dorms are inside and your dorm partners and room shall be announced after the simulation." He looks to Vina, who's aqua blue eyes brighten slightly as if she was just wakened for a dormant sleep. "The simulations may appear frightening, yet don't be afraid. We are merely recording how your powers function under pressure, and fear." She smiles a gentle, sweet smile.

Axle nods, he glances to his sibling who is awkwardly examining some of the teenagers from a distance. Axle growls softly, he hated what the scientists had done to her. Fusing her with an AI made her basically emotionless.. Axle then looked to the group "please follow, stay close, and try not to get lost." The muscular leader then turned toward the glass sliding doors, stepping toward them causing them to quickly slide open as he enters. Vina enters after him, and the group continues to follow.

Saul nearly bumped into the guy in front of him once the group stopped walking. He listened to the leader talk, then his sibling. Simulation? Sounded kind of painful if you asked him. He shrugged it off, sure that they wouldn't do anything to actually harm the them.

Lily remains silent as shearly follows after two twin boys who looked shockingly similar. She studied them from behind, careful not to step on them or bump into them.

Lani studied her surroundings thoughtfully, admiring the building which towered over her, large and imposing. She glanced at the man who had entitled himself Axle and looked towards the others, cautiously taking in their appearance and facial features for future reference and slipping inside along with the others. It had been a while since she had been in a group this large and she was still adjusting to the sudden way she had been thrown into things. She wondered what the simulation would entail to, feeling a mix of both anxious and excited for what was yet to come.

Luca's knuckles were turning white, tense around the handholds in the airplane. She was gripping for dear life, despite the ride probably not even being really that dangerous; she had never really liked flying that much. It was a relief to feel the wheels hit the runway below. She took a deep breath, loosening her fingers. With a bout of dizziness she stood and forced herself to walk, though her legs felt like jelly, and followed a line of other people outside of the plane. She remained quiet, wringing her hands anxiously the whole time.

Brandon and Chase shared a look as soon as Axle mentioned a simulation and his sister said it would entail pressure and fear. Chase bit his lip and stared at the ground, a thousand different versions of what might happen running through his head. Brandon looked at the other teens, trying to gauge how they were taking it. Although reading people's facial expressions had always been more of Chase's strong point, it wasn't hard to tell that some of them were nervous. Brandon bumped Chase to get him to stop thinking about bad things and both of them began examining their surroundings as the group resumed walking. We will stick together. Brandon said telepathically. Chase nodded, ever so slightly so that no one else would notice.

Alex shivered, imagining the simulation. Would it be like he had imagined? The new terror in his life? Dynamite-juggling penguins. The little devils, they were the reason he was being sucked into this whole experimental facility thing... Maybe. He laughed at his little joke again, then imagined what it would really be like. His face turned grim in a second, and he almost stopped walking. They could subject him to hallucinations. He almost put his hand in his hair, then stopped himself a took a calming breath. No need to worry about seeing things that aren't real. They would never do something like that... Or would they? He wanted to push the whole line down, just to make the two fall down. He almost smacked his head on the glass doors. He patted his cheeks, telling himself to get it together. He looked around at the facility, trying to get his mind off of the clown-trauma he might gain.

Lani glanced at the two boys, absorbing their emotions and tilting her slightly. It wasn't often she was able to receive any sort of inkling of fear or anxiety where she was from. Most chose to suppress it and were wise in doing so as feelings such as that led to imminent death. She once more wondered how terrible this simulation would be.

Max stepped off the plane. Standing on the staircase he looked down at the group emotionless and enthusiastically. He looked back at the plane, placing his hand on the hull. He couldn't tell for sure but from what he was picking up from the flight computer they were far from civilization. He placed a hand on his head, it killed, there was so much radio interference in the air. as he stepped down to ground level he gathered around the others, all this talk of simulation had scared the others, but no technology would scare max. He gazed at the others, "Fear, one of the many flaws of man"

Lani carefully approached the man, recognizing him from the person she had been seated with. He had been silent the whole trip and looked somewhat intimidating now. " I take it you're not too impressed with the mentions of an oncoming simulation?" She had doubts about the test they were about to receive however it was nothing that all of them couldn't overcome.

Luca stared hard at the impressive edifice before her. Honestly, she was more anxious for the testing than anything else. Sure, it could be the coolest thing to ever happen to her, but you could really never be too careful. She barely even knew what she was here for, unlike some of the others, who were already utilising their abilities.

Sighing, she stepped forward again, contemplating what it might be like in the brief time before she had to actually find out. Maybe they'll make us run around in little hamster balls and call it a day, she thought to herself, smirking slightly.

Max turned his head slowly. "Impressed? I don't know what they are, I can neither be impressed nor afraid, it would be.... irrational" he paused and exhaled, he knew could be distant and he might be around these people a lot, he extended his hand to the women. "I am Max" he paused. "You may call me Vender". He squinted briefly in pain, this was more interference than he had ever experienced, where ever he was, whatever it was, there was a lot of tech behind it.

Lani regarded him curiously, noing the almost robotical way he spoke before glancing down at his hand and taking it, shaking carefully before glancing towards the others. " It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Vender, I am Yulani although you may call me Lani" she bowed briefly and stood upright, wondering what abilities Vender possessed.

Max turned and gazed back at the facility, "Lani.... Its nice to meet you". He grabbed the "skin" on his left wrist, pulling it back and snapping it like a rubber band. He look at the group of people again. Thought rushed through his mind, he knew what he was capable of, even he couldn't imagine what the others could do. What good could come of putting such people together, under one roof. He turn to a women( @Kasper ) staring a the building in awe. "If I am quietest you are nothing less than the 2nd, You seem fascinated, why?"

Honestly, Alice was probably the only one who got through the plane ride smoothly. She had used her powers to stop anything before it hit her eardrum, meaning the whole ride was completely silent, and she fell right asleep. But.. in turn, she didn't hear a single word of the speech before stepping off of the plane. Some man and his... sister? Daughter? Mother, maybe? She had no clue how they were related, all she knew is that they were the lead. Apparently.

As they were walking towards the building, Alice realized she was likely the worst dressed for a military plane ride. She was already short, and she wore ratty sneakers, shorts, and a big white turtleneck sweater. She didn't care if it made her hotter than ever, but she loved her sweater, so she went with it.

She heard the instructors talk about some sort of simulation. Probably some combat simulation she'd seen in fiction books, where the characters have to go and shoot some holograms until they got out of the fake cityscape. She wasn't thrilled about the idea, being more annoyed by anything. She may have had silence, but the plane ride itself was not the most comfortable thing ever.

She just wanted a nap.

Lani wandered around, scouring the group for anyone who would wish to converse. She spotted a girl in a possibly uncomfortable turtleneck (due to the sheer heat) and waved solemnly, approaching her and managing a quiet "hey!"

She quietly gives her a quick wave, returning her attention to the people in front of her. How long was it gonna be before anything happened here? This was incredibly boring for her. She wasn't really one for conversation, especially in scenarios she wasn't ready for, and this one she definitely wasn't planning for.

But, seeing as someone was talking to her, she decided to just give her a simple, "Hi."

Lani stopped slightly, taking note of the curious colors swirling around the girl. Part of her ability was the sense to absorb and see people's emotions and using it against them to the best of her knowledge, of course she had only once tried this and only out of desperation. This girl had a slight tendril of orange curled around her, she was indifferent almost. Intriguing. " How are you?"

"Um.. well. Tired. I want to go to my room and take a nap, really." She rubs her eyes and laughs quietly. "I didn't really plan for a plane ride and then some sort of unknown simulation." She shrugged, her turtleneck large enough that her sleeves are too long for her arms. She looks like a child, honestly. But at least it can be used as a tactic, seeing as she doesn't need any fancy hand motions or anything for her power to work. She can just look innocent, and soon enough her enemies' ears will be bleeding.

Lani nods, agreeing quietly before turning towards the others. "I don't believe I was either but we all can't expect everything I suppose" she stretches, yawning tiredly. "By the way, cool turtleneck."

"What, me?" Luca said, feigning surprise at being spoken to. "I just don't got very much to comment on. It's best to keep an internal monolog internal, yknow?" She smiled teasingly. In truth, she was actually pretty intimidated and anxious for what may lay ahead, but it was easier to act nonchalant.

The plane ride was rather cold and extremely uncomfortable, especially for someone with finer tastes in traveling. Throughout the whole ride Abbey remained sternly quiet as a result and dared not to open her eyes in fear of seeing "others" like her and striking a conversation about the whole matter. The seatbelts that restrained herself and those alike were unnecessarily tight but she payed no heed to it for she was busy with thought about her unusual predicament. A few days ago she was just leaving her school and her close mates, and then suddenly she found herself being coerced rather forcefully into a program that she knew nothing about and/or the things that they might do to her. She was livid when she heard about the whole idea, remembering her roars of bellowed anger echoing throughout the streets of London that did nothing but enflamed her wrath even more. Finally, with a few calming words from her mother, she reluctantly agreed to the proposal, not knowing that she didn't even had the choice to decline in the first place, and began her journey to the "facility". When her train-of-thought ended rather abruptly from an ushering of light, the feeling of ease from the loosening of the death grip like restraints, and the deep powerful booming orders of a brooding man, she groaned morbidly as she traced her forefingers in pattern like circles on her temples. She got up and glared at the man before her.

She ignored Axle completely thinking to herself "I take no orders from a man." but unconsciously trailed behind like a lost puppy.

He lead the group to a looming glass building that perched ominously over them and then continued his speech about something that pertained dorming arrangements and a simulation that forced a small, albeit exasperated, sigh from the well-dressed lass. Although she didn't quite catch the second tidbit of his address, the second speaker however raised a few alarms within Abbey. Abigail was situated around the back of the whole band of misfit toys so she was unable to project her "thoughts" about the whole situation appropriately. But however, she sought answers in which were largely ungiven by those that "lead" her. She pushed past the crowd, ignoring their small conversations and her abruptness, if any, as she made her way towards the pair. When she finally arrived, she found herself behind the emotionless girl.

She gave the quite large man a gentle but force-full tap "I beg your pardon... frightening... under pressure... and fear? I'm sorry if I have this wrong... but are you testing us in some sort of combative situation?"

Axle and Vina led the group into the building, he was about to turn toward the group again when Vina's aqua blue eyes widened slightly, "you're being approached." Axle looked toward Vina, then felt the tap. He turned around and faced Abbey, looking down at her with rather gentle yet mysterious gaze. He hesitated after she finished her question, and his gaze flicked over her shoulder to the group behind her. He inhaled slightly "The simulation is used for us to see what we need to train you all in. Some do better in fear than they do pressure, and vise-versa."

Vina continues forward and unlocks two massive black doors, before pushing them open. She looks to Axle, "ahem." She smiles gently.

Axle looks toward Vina, then back to Abbey, "i shall explain more once you are all seated and inside." Without another word he turns and begins to lead the group through the massive black doors and into a blank white room that seems to have one hundred chairs seated in rows of ten from the front to the back of the room, and extremely bright lights. "Everyone, please take a seat." He says as he walks toward another door and begins unlocking it.
