Other The Evil Protagonist Proposal

Proposal

The narrative of your favorite show/game/book is now written with the perspective that the evil character or villain was the protagonist and the good character(s) were the antagonist(s).

Example Questions

1. Does the 'journey' of the story change? If so, how?

2. Do you see the acts of characters differently? For example, do you think something you could not reconcile as good may become easier to swallow because of the story structure? Do your favorite characters change?

3. Are there shows/games/books that demonstrate this structure? If so, what are they and can you explain how it worked?

4. Would you prefer this narrative structure or at least try to read/play/watch it if someone lists a good example of it?

Quick Notes

For the sake of discussion, we'll consider the protagonist to be the leading character(s) that the audience receives the most or at least equal exposure to that make the largest decisions that affect and progress the plot or storyline. The antagonists will be any force or character in opposite to the protagonist.

This thought can be applied to RP, games (tabletop, video, or other), TV shows, movies, manga—whatever comes to mind. If you think it would affect one media a lot different than another, feel free to explore that.
