The Elder Scrolls: Red Diamond {Rp}

Locklaklazarii

Acolyte of a New God
<p>

It has been 10 years since the death of Emperor at the hands of the listener and the Mede dynasty ended ushering in the Elder Council to take control of the Empire. After defeating the Dragonborn . Hammerfell is now deep within its own civil war between three factions: The Forebears who are Empire loyalists, The Aldmeri Sympathizers fighting to join the Dominion, and the Crowns fighting for an independent Hammerfell. In Skyrim Stormcloak sympathizers are actively hunted and the war with the reachmen rages on once more. The Reachmen had asked help from the orsimer who were reluctant to join until they had been ransacked and a shaky alliance had been born. After this the Thalmor sent an envoy to the alliance promising them their own nations if they join the Dominion, the alliance joined ending the war in the Reach and in the Wrothgar Mountains. While in the West the Thalmor helped the Dunmer grow in strength and power so they could get revenge on the Argonians. Recently when the Dunmer crossed the Veloth and Valus mountains they came across a recently unearthed Dwemer ruin. The ruin of Zinkleft was one of the largest ever seen and within it they found 3 elder scrolls. The scrolls were given to the moth priests who foretold an impending invasion from Oblivion unmatched by any ever seen. The moth priests also told of a band of heroes saving the land by reforging the amulet of kings. The Elder Council sent out a notice to anyone free of a reward of 1 million septims to anyone who would be able to take on this task, which was unspecified. The notice also told them to go to Gideon to receive insrtuctions. You have come here for reasons that are strictly your own and you stand within a city pact to the brim. How many there are you cannot say, but there has to be at least 10 thousand. The stink of other people as well as the Marshes floods the air.

Thud and his crew of Nordic pirates slowly made their way through the small, yet plentiful rivers of Black Marsh. They can smell the smoke and hear the noise of Gideon as they sail past the city. Thousands of people seemed to be there all trying to get the Septim prize for some unspecified quest, Thud had another plan altogether; to find the Eye of Argonia. It was an ancient Argonian king's priceless jewel and the key to his lost city of riches.

Normally, these sort of adventures were beyond Thud, but he met a Dunmeri seeress along his travels who told him of it. "IN THE TWISTING RIVERS LIES THE KEY, AND IN THE KEY LIES THE LOST CITY. AS THE NOTHING BECOMES MORE, SO SHALL THE EYE. AS THE SOMETHING BECOMES LESS, SO SHALL THE CITY. AND A HERO FROM HAEROT WILL SAVE THEM", to the crew unexperienced in the workings of the world most of this made little sense. Even the last part about Haerot had no meaning as it was never a city, town, or place of any kind on Nirn.

While travelling the Inner Sea searching for a clue about the prophecy there was an ash storm and a robed bug appeared in front of him. It had the soothing voice of a woman mixed with the fire of Red Mountain; it was a Telvanni. She spoke directly to Thud, "You have been searching and know not your destination, nor your home. You shall travel to Black Marsh and find the Eye, for the Eye is the Key. In the Eye you will find life and meaning, from Haerot you will go and during nothing you will succeed. I shall take your home away and guide you to the City. When it is time, you shall shed me away and go back to Haerot for your final test,". This woman was Lyrillia Telvanni, an Ash Lord and the Duke of Vvardenfell, leader of the Vvardenfell branch of House Telvanni. Unknown to Thud she cast a spell on him enabling her to see through his eyes and follow his path.

When passing Gideon, a brilliant flash of light appeared in the sky and floated towards the boat, "North you shall go, and during Azura you shall wait, for the Missing appears. When the Missing appears the Being will reflect it; there you will find the Eye. Follow the ways of the land of Nothing and you shall be free," Lyrillia told Thud who only understood the 'North' part. Nevertheless, Thud ignored the dumbstruck crowd of people and went northwards, going along the rivers. He followed the rivers who had hollowed out trees and Argonian shacks at the top to avoid getting lost in the swamp. The air was swarming with bugs, and the constant croaking was driving Thud crazy.

Vorngor walked to the edge of the marsh and awaits the others in his group. He signed up for this thing in the hopes he would meet people whom he could respect. Along with that he had walked his path alone for so long he missed the feeling of companionship. Once he was at the edge of the marsh as instructed he awaited his fellow members of the group.

Aeryn happened to be in town around the time the notice was sent. She had set herself up in a local inn that had been willing to let her set up shop inside, so long as she paid them a small percentage of her earnings. Not one to pass up such an opportunity, Aeryn had set about making weaponry, armour, and tools for those who lived in and around town who had heard of her family name.

At the point of the call to the marshes, Aeryn had been finishing up the greatsword that one of her customers had requested. Immediately, she thanked those at the inn who had housed her, collected up her things, and went out to find the customer. She handed over the sword and headed towards the marshes. Behind her, she dragged a small cart with some of her smithing equipment upon it. Standing silently next to another who had already arrived at the marshes, she waited for the remainder of the group to arrive.

As the crew sailed north, the tall trees obscured their vision of the sun. The winding rivers twisted and turned until the crew was completely lost. They panicked and stopped going until Thud brought the prophecy back up again. Calming his crew down, they started slowly moving again. This time fear was in their hearts and they knew they were lost save heartless Thud. He looked at the shallow streams hoping to see a glimmer of something against the sunlight but found nothing.

The Boar's Tusk docked down at a small Argonian called Tei which had no solid ground and was a string of wooden buildings on stilts over the marshes. At the town's inn, Thud met an Argonian girl and the two of them switched heads. Furious at the horrendous act, the Argonians of Tei chased down the crew of the Boar's Tusk, forcing them back into the waterways.

Vorngor turned to the women and asked,

"What is your name girl?"

He wanted to know the names of his group for if any of them died he would remember them. Along with that he wanted to pass the time so conversation was in order.

@Kaera

Kelkemmeriil Larethor arrives at the meeting location seeing and hearing the rudeness of the warrior, he sat on a Large, White Shire Stallion. As he looked down unto the warrior he spoke to him in a very polite ans sort of posh sounding accent, "Now warrior is that any way to talk to a lady?". Kelkemmeriil attempted to make eye contact with the tall warrior who had been so rude.

RIARA

This heat, it's worse when you're not used to even remotely warm weather. Luckily the arcane arts have granted me powerful magic, ice is at the palms of my hands. I don't really have to worry about the heat too much. But sometimes I wish things could go back to the way they were, I can bear this heat. But couldn't they have set this, this "contest." Somewhere else? Oh well, I'll just have to deal for now.

Riara has made a makeshift home on a nearby hilltop. Made of ice of course, it's not massive, but it's good enough to keep her cool. Although it stands out, she's hidden behind a couple of rocks, out of the open.

She has grown away from communities. A growing bitterness is close, thousands of years of living has also made Riara attuned to more knowledge, but it has also made her less empathetic. But that story is for another day.

She puts on her hooded, ripped, and raggedy robes. Straps on her ancient Falmer bow, And slides down the hillside. Arriving at the edge of the marsh, hood still over her head. She sits on a nearby rock. And awaits the rest of the group, putting ice close to her every so often to cool herself off.

Kelkemmeriil Larethor saw the odd mage sit down in the corner of his eye but did not mind it. He got off of his horse and made it level to the warrior who was his height which was curious because he did not have the build of an Altmer. 'Kelkemmeriil Larethor," the Altmer wizard gave a polite bow to the warrior, "and whom might I be speaking to?" he inquired at the end of the bow.

@TheBlackSwordsman

Aeryn bowed to the gentleman on the white horse. "You're kind sire, more kind than some." She stood up straight, looking up at both men. She noticed that she was a way shorter than them, and probably less armed. She had on her back her sword, and on her belt was her dagger. That was all the weapons she used, and she wouldn't use any other. "Aeryn Falstaf at your service." Also upon her back, over the top of the sheath of her sword, was a small backpack in which she carried her few belongings - a set of light armour and a cloak. "I'm a blacksmith. If you need anything, do inform me and I shall do my best."

Vorngor Kla-Deoth nodded to the girl and walked over to the Mage sitting on the rock,

"What is your name girl? Haven't seen a snow elf for a very long time."

@Unbound

Kelkemmeriil Larethor looked at Aeryn and bowed once more "Pleased to meet you Aeryn. I would be pleased to call upon you and your services if I have need of them" he gave her a charming smile. He then looked at Vorngor who he could only assume was an odd orc by his name and was pleased so far by the overwhelming abount of mer that were on his 'team'. He looked to the Orsimer who had just asked the question to the Falmer and spoke "I'm surprised that an Orsimer would have even seen an un-corrupted Falmer at all." He watched attentively at the exchange currently unraveling.

Vorngor turned his head to him and said,

"I am no Orc and I have seen many Un-corrupted snow elves in my day."

He turned back to the Mage,

"Your name please."

@Unbound

"If you are not kin of Malacath then how did you get the name -Vorngor-?" he put a heavy emphases on the name noting how his reaction seems to infer the Orsimer is a similar age to that of himself. Kelkemmeriil still stood at a very stiff pose and even readied himself for a physical retaliation in case it were to occur. He was actually quite interested as he only knew of two different types of people who used such a name a Vorngor.

Lyrillia was attuned to magic and could feel it ebb and flow in the song that was reality. Near Thud was a tremendous source of primal power so she started playing her harp. Atop Red Mountain she sat as she drifted off and her soul separated from her body. Gliding over the land she located Thud once more and appeared to him as moonlight. During this time of Azura, the Goddess of Dusk and Dawn lent her own motherly wisdom and lit the waters of Black Marsh.

Spotting a skeleton in the water, Thud dived down to inspect it. On its right hand was a Dwemer gauntlet and a bright light was clasped inside of it. Prying the fingers apart Thud touched what was inside and saw blackness. There was pure nothing save for himself and the Eye. Having no clue what to do in this situation, Thud sat down and prayed to Lyrillia with no answer, for he was free of her. Beside him the Eye was set down and it started rolling through the nothingness, leading Thud who could only see its light followed it. After hours in this Tilted Plane he noticed that the light was getting dimmer and farther away from him. Was Time even in this place? Or was this place a reflection of Nirn with a fake new Time of its own?

Great gates appeared before him built from shadows and the Eye guided him through the City. Light shined from the Eye and glimpses of people appeared just outside of Thud's gaze. Walking up the steps of a castle Thud saw a fragile emaciated man sitting on a throne. The man motioned for Thud to come forward and whispered, "Haerot is your guide and you are our savior. Our Lost City has been pure nothing and we have existed outside of time and reality. With your freedom you have given us ours. Your heart however has been stolen and destroyed. In your hands lies your new heart," now the man was walking towards Thud and touched the Eye, his fingers went through Thud's hands and the man pushed the Eye into Thud's chest.

A gulp of water entered Thud's mouth as he woke up, now at the bottom of a lake. Swimming upwards he found a city taken out of time. It was in pristine condition compared to the rest of Argonia and the citizens were young and joyful. He walked back up to the palace and as he looked upon the young king he felt a sharp pain in his chest. Lyrillia manifested behind him and tore his new heart out, throwing it to Red Mountain in an esoteric mimicry of Convention. She had the intent of balancing Nirn once more and fled back to her domain. The king who had been rejuvenated by coming back to Nirn now withered to dust along with the rest of his city's inhabitants. The Lost City was lost once again and a trans-dimensional tragedy had finally ended.

Vorngor walked over to him and sighed saying,"If you are so intent on finding out who I am then I'll tell you."He removes one of his gauntlets revealing his golden skin tone,"I am only half orc and the only orc in me is my name and strength."He put his gauntlet back on and awaited the mans response. He had long since stopped fighting for the Aldmeri Dominion but he knew his name was still prominent in their faction.

@Locklaklazarii

Riara was interrupted mid casting. The blue particles on her palms dissipating along with the light that followed. She slowly lifted her head up, and curiously inspected the fellow, glancing at his arm as he removed his gauntlet.

"Half Orc, half Altmer id assume?" She said swiftly.

"Quite interesting indeed." Kelkemmeriil Larethor said examining the mans hand, what the man said was true his skin tone was that of an Altmer yet brutish in form like that or an Orsimer. He kept mental note of the the mans story for he found it quite interesting. He then made his way over to the mysterious elf mage who was trying to hide herself he laughed quietly at her comment then knelt next to her and asked politely, "Ma'am what is your name?".

@TheBlackSwordsman @Unbound

Riara kept her head down, but removed her ancient Falmer bow from her back, and placed it beside herself.

"Why are names so important?" She asked curiously while she looked up at the Altmer.

@Locklaklazarii

In body and soul Lyrillia fled to Gideon, leaving Thud's heartless corpse on the palace steps. She levitated above the swamps and tried her best to avoid the putrid smell and Argonian hunters. At Gideon, she saw a group of people and ignored them for the most part until she bought some flin at a tavern and looked back at them. One was dressed as a Psijic, so she walked over to him.

@Locklaklazarii

"They help us identify and get your attention, I could just call you Falmer if you'd like." Kelkemmeriil Larethor said this knowing that the Falmer have a general dislike for the name. As he looked at her he saw a Dunmer Female out of the corner of the eye swapping his attention between her and the snow elf, awaiting an answer.

Vorgnor Kla-Deoth put his gauntlet back on and walked with the man to the snow elf. He assumed that the snow elf was a rather strong mage to survive this long. He also assumed this altmer was very intelligent for how he examined his hand. When the snow elf responded with that question he answered, "Because we've all given ours and if we are to succeed as a group we must at the very least know each other by a name."
