The Ebzomix Virus

Elyssa watches curiously as Sam writes on her sister's hand, her eyes still slightly drooping from the tiredness she feels. Jessica then quirks a curious eyebrow to Sam, wondering where exactly that question had come from... It was quite a strange one, as it's become a fairly common thing... Mostly anyone you may see on t he street, on the off chance you do see someone on the street, they're in need of clothing. However, she decides to take the question seriously as she nods. "She does... She's had these for nearly a year now... She's starting to outgrow them." She frowns, knowing she'd soon have to find clothes for the both of them... Chances were that she eventually would just give Elyssa her own shirt to wear, and she would simply button up her jacket to act as a top. The pants her sister wore still had a while to go, but the shirt... it was getting tight, and she could tell the young girl was getting uncomfortable in it.

Sam's lips quirk up a bit more as she reaches down and offers her hand to the younger child, then nods her head toward the stairs. Sam would help them out with clothes, like they helped her with food. Yes, this is how she'd repay them, she also really wanted to see the younger girl happy, for some reason. Actually, she knew why she wanted to see the little girl happy, but she'd never admit to it. Truth was, it would remind her so much of the child she herself used to travel with after her parents died and it was just her and Liam.

Elyssa looks at Sam's hand wearily, her eyebrows knitting together in concern and confusion...Why was this stranger trying to take her somewhere? She turns and looks up at Jessica, her expression showing question which the older sister recognizes quickly. She then puts on an encouraging expression and signs, "Go ahead, baby girl. I'll be right behind you, alright?" In truth, even she was quite nervous to allow Sam to take her sister upstairs... She'd somehow snuck up there and hid herself all night, so who knows what else Jessica may have overlooked? Though, at the same time, she had a strange, sneaking feeling that she could trust this girl... Like there was already some sort of connection between her and Elyssa, which was quite strange, considering the 12 year old girl didn't connect nor bond with anyone but Jessica... That's the only reason she allows this. To observe, in wonder.

Elyssa slowly reaches up and takes Sam's hand, a soft smile garcing her expression at how warm the girl's hand is, before following behind her to go, where she assumed, was up the stairs.

Sam carefully leads the girl's up the stairs and gestures to the latter/stairs that were still down from where she came down earlier. Sam looks down at Elyssa and bends down to get on her level then sprawls out slowly on her palm a simply sentence. Close your eyes. Sam was so excited she was trembling, her other hand closing tightly on the bar of food in her other hand, it effectively smashing it, but she could careless, this moment was the most important to her.

Jessica blinks several times in disbelief. "Holy shit..." The 21 year old didn't curse often, as she's always been quite respectful and found such words to be rather vulgar and unnecessary, but as she saw the ladder sitting before her... So abruptly mocking her, that she was so lucky it was an uninfected human rather than a zombie, that was the only phrase which could escape her lips.

Thankfully, though, Elyssa was unable to hear her sister's wording slip. She does feel her cheeks heat up and gives an apologetic look to Sam, watching as her younger sister does as was instructed as she closes her eyes, a soft smile pulling her lips upward in anticipation for whatever was to come... She could practically feel the excitement radiating off of Sam, and it just made her that much moreso.

Sam looks back at Jessica and winks, then scoops up Elyssa and carries her up the latter/steps. Once up, she waits for Jessica to follow so that they can all share this moment, even if it was one that 3 years ago would have been so simplistic. Sam sets Elyssa down, but keeps holding her hand as she looks at all the boxes with the words, "Children's Clothes" printed on them in thick sharpie.

Jessica fallows up right after Sam and Elyssa, not wanting them out of her sight. The moment she gets up to the attic, though, her eyes roam over all the boxes and furniture. "Whoa.." She smiles as she sees the box, then points to it while looking at Sam, "Is that why you asked? You stayed up here last night, and remembered the box was here?" She almost grins, amazed that all this could still be here after the house had been abandoned for so long...

Sam nods vigorously then writes on Elyssa's palm: Open your eyes. Sam could not WAIT to see how happy Elyssa would be when she saw the clothes taken out, when she could put on clean clothes that actually fit. This would be one of the few moments that would make the darkness in Sam's heart falter for only a moment. A child's happiness in the damned would was very precious and not something you see often at all.

Elyssa recognizes the letters written on her palm and opens her eyes rather slowly. She sees boxes everywhere and a soft gasp escapes her lips when she sees the one labeled "Children's Clothes". She starts bouncing on her heels, her eyes wide as she turns to Jessica and points to the box, making an almost whimpering sound as her excitement and anticipation grows. Jessica giggles softly as she kneels down and signs to her sister, "Ask Sam, and I'm sure she'll help you find something nice!" The girl nods, then turns to look up at Sam. She then takes her hand, and writes on it: 'Can you help me find clothes?'

Sam nods then lets go of the girl's hand and walks over to the boxes, picking up the top one, the muscles in her arms flexing and aching slightly, but she ignores it as she easily picks the box up and sets it down in front of Elyssa. After that, she pulls her combat knife off the holster on her hip and cuts the tape off the box and opens it. The first thing Sam notices is jeans and LOTS of pink clothes which made her exhale a small laugh, though it would only sound like a breath.

Elyssa walks over curiously, peering into the box with a wide grin. Pink had always been the girl's favorite color, though Jessica hadn't been able to find decent clothes for the younger girl in such a fashion as would be appropriate... All she could get were drab, weakly colored greys, blacks, and whites from the occasional travelling merchant along the way. She chuckles softly as she hears Elyssa gasp in happiness, her eyes lighting up further as she picks up a long pink shirt, the sleeves slightly ruffled. The shirt, however, was long enough to be almost a dress. Though, never would Jessica allow her sister to wear something so short without jeans underneath.

Sam picks up a light blue jacket that would most likely be big on Elyssa, but she'd need it later when the winter came. Sam passing back to Jessica, not seeming to notice the patters of unicorns and cupcakes on the jacket. She knew Jesssica would keep up with the jacket, and give it to Elyssa when the time came. Sam looks up at Elyssa, her face being utterly lit up which brought a small soft smile to her face. The moment was utterly perfect. The little girl could have whatever was in this box, and they could take more when she'd grow up so that her clothes would always fit.

Jessica smiles gratefully, watching to make sure Elyssa was absorbed in all the clothes as she speaks to Sam. "This means a lot... I really had no idea what I was going to do to give her clothes, it's hard to find these days, you know?"

Sam nods knowingly. She really did know how hard it was to find clothes, for kids at least, her on the other hand, well she was done growing and she knew that. Sam looks back at Jessica and stands up then looks to the little bar in her hand, her stomach growling loudly and aching horribly. She slowly opens the wrapping on the bar, her stomach instantly growling louder as she smelled the sweet smell of fruit and various other things. It was magical. In the past three years, she'd never smelled anything this good other than roasting raccoon. Slowly she rips off a piece of the soft bar and puts it in her mouth, the flavor instantly exploding across her taste buds. Sam instantly bites down on her lower lip to keep herself from moaning and crying from how amazing this really tasted.

Jessica smiles softly as Sam eats the bar, then walks over and kneels down beside Elyssa. "Finding lots of nice stuff you'd like?" The question was signed rather slowly, as she didn't want to overwhelm her sister's senses with how overwhelmed and elated her mind already was. However, the girl doesn't seem to mind as she nods vigorously then quickly signs back, "Yes! I want this, and this!" She then turns to the side and holds up the pink shirt/dress, and a pair of dark blue leggings. Jessica chuckles at the choice and nods, "Looks good. Want to go behind those boxes over there and change?" The younger girl nods, then rushes behind a stack of boxes which were almost twice her height; stacked almost to the ceiling.

Sam eats the rest of the bar, her hunger being sated for the next few weeks for now. Her eyes land on Jessica and she smiles ever so slightly. They were going to be just fine now and Sam had repaid her debt to Jessica and Elyssa and now it was time for her to go. Sam softly walks over to Jessica and taps her shoulder, trying to get her attention.
