Richard lent up against a wall watching people walk in and out of the gala currently taking place. He was curious about this whole dating program and why people even bothered with it. The only good he could see come out of it was a simple hook up and that was bout it, not this whole love deal people seemed to have in their head.

Orthrus could sense the surprise at his question, but he liked learning about her. Tyra's answer was a common theme for the day, most unable to admit that they may be lonely and looking for love, or otherwise. "Well, you'll get plenty of the same from most here. A lot of these folks were invited and joined out of a sense of duty, so most don't know how they would answer that question. Others, well they wanted to be here knowin' what they were lookin' for." He smiled a small smile at her then, knowing the feeling of the rest of the people here - members of staff looking in as all these people found potential partners.

Orthrus would never have admitted he was curious about the while love thing - he'd never had the time for it, or the need for it before. However, standing here today, watching all the couples form, he felt a twang of jealousy that even he couldn't see coming. His day just continued to be filled with surprises.

Tyra continued looking around the room, "well there certainly seems to be a lot going on" she half chuckled as she pointed to the young woman who had just fainted. "does this kind of thing happen often or is this a one off event?" she asked curiously, it certainly seemed to have drawn a lot of interest and many different species some of which Tyra didn't even know of, she realised she was talking more to her current companion than she had anyone in a long time, like he was an old friend who she could laugh and joke with, this both concerned and intrigued her

Xander noticed the young man over by the door, he didn't seem to be getting involved, Xander sighed and headed over to the young man "forgive me friend but lurking in the background is sure to get you notced" he said his ear flicking curiously "any reason you are lurking in the background, or just trying to stay out of the way" Xander was unsure why he had struck a conversation with the man but he figured it would be better to look out for potential partners with a friend than on his own

Richard looked over in the Fox's direction curious as to why he had suddenly drawn someones attention, especially since he wasn't apart of the current festivities.

"I didn't come here to get noticed" Rick said casually, "I'm more here out of curiosity as it seems like this is the party of the year, what about you?"

Halexia Halexia

Xander pondered the question for a moment "well truth be known I did come looking for a partner" he scrunched up his nose "but it seems I arrived late to the party and everyone has already found someone" he shrugged nonchalantly the gala was indeed in full swing and everyone seemed to be happy "Im Alexander by the way... but most people call me Xander"

"Richard, though I prefer Rick" He gave Xander a small smile, "Just so you know I don't bat for the other team"

It was an odd thing for Rick to say but he figured he should put that out there before the fox got any ideas.

Xander couldnt help but laugh at the vampires comment "don't worry mate I am straight" he didn't want him to feel uncomfortable "Just figured that you looked as out of place as I" to be honest Xander was glad of the company more than anything else, so far he hadn't had any luck talking to any of the people actually involved in the gala and as previously stated the young vampire looked as out of place as he himself felt, he was the only Kitsune here, not that he minded that, he had got sick of being around his own kind all the time, he felt more out of place with his apparent 'disguise' which didnt disguise much at all

"You cant be out of place at a party you arent invited too" he chuckled turning his full attention to xander. "You look a little awkward and out of place standing around here"

He felt as if in this situation, just standing around, he should have been either drinking some alcholic beverage or smoking some cheap ciggerette from the local shop. He shouldnt be hanging around, that much he knew but as the saying goes, curiousty killed the cat.

Chase’s reaction to her head-pat was a little more effective than expected, so much so that she found herself smiling. He’s a good kid, she thought to herself. It almost felt like his innocent reaction lifted the black fog from her heart, in a similar-yet-not-quite-the-same way as Gabe’s little smiles and caring comments did. She resolved to give Chase praise like this more often; he soaked it up like a dog and it was honestly pretty cute. However, this moment was unfortunately spoiled very soon by a certain other blade-wielding hunter that Fifer liked a whole lot less.

Locking eyes with Caroline in a steady death-glare, hoping that her “two-faced’-ness would only accentuate the fear Caroline should be feeling as far as she was concerned. But, Fifer knew she was kidding herself. Caroline seemed to have no fear at all. The madwoman had just picked up and carried a loaded gun like it was no big deal when she knew that she was likely to shoot herself somehow. Fifer was pretty sure it had happened before, though, unfortunately (for Fifer anyway, and for Gabe in her opinion) Caroline had somehow not yet shot herself in a lethal area of her body, obviously. Taking a long, deep breath and closing her good eye for a moment, she reopened it and spoke, even if she wasn’t listening. “Least I know how to shoot a gun. And you can bet your ass that if I ever have to fight a fucking dragon again, I’m wearing a fire resistant helmet.” If the other side of her face went from gorgeous to fugly like the other had, she was pretty sure she wouldn’t be able to live anymore, even if it didn’t kill her. The unfortunate incident that destroyed the right side of her face had taken her confidence in her looks right out from under her. She used to think she was the hottest thing on earth, and loved dolling herself up. Karma’s a bitch, though; she learned that the hard way. She wasn’t going to lose what attractive facial features she had left, if she could help it.

Of course, the woman in question decided to simply ignore her. It was infuriating, but in order to keep Gabe from getting the wrong idea about her actions, she bit her tongue. Unfortunately, the urge to give Caroline a good old cussing out intensified to the nth degree as she saw Caroline lock arms with Gabe, utterly ignoring her yet still, of course.

She let Gabe speak to Chase right now as she tried desperately not to lash out at Caroline, fighting with her inner demons and her frustration at Gabe’s lack of response to Caroline’s clinginess. He didn’t seem to be enjoying it, but he didn’t seem keen on letting go either. Half of her wanted to cling onto the other arm, but she was ashamed at such thoughts. She was NOT going to stoop to Caroline’s level. In the end, she decided to walk a bit more briskly in front of everyone until she arrived at the truck, not looking back, not talking until they all got there. Hopefully, in seeing how pissed she clearly was, Gabe would ask her about it later, away from Caroline, and she could spell it all out for him. It seemed as though he had no idea about either her or Caroline’s feelings towards him and, quite frankly, she thought it was ridiculous.

Once they’d all reached the truck (Fifer demanding to drive again of course), she let everyone climb in wherever they saw fit and started going. She focused on driving, which was one of those things that she was always able to zero in on. It gave her a sense of stability. By getting everyone there safely with one working eye (and she indeed drove carefully and expertly despite that, making sure to make ample use of the rear-view mirror and to periodically turn to look over at her blind side), she affirmed within herself that she could do anything. After the injury, at first, no one let her drive. It’s dangerous to tell Fifer she can’t do something though; unless it’s as foolhardy as, say, jumping off a cliff, she WILL try to prove you wrong. And in this case, she succeeded.

The gps in Fifer’s phone ended up taking the four Hunters to bustling downtown london. “Dammit… lotta civilians around… we can’t have any unnecessary casualties people, be damn careful.” While not a people person per se, Fifer had always, secretly but truly, cared deeply for the largely ignorant population of London, unaware of the inhuman dangers that lurked in the shadows.

Coming to a stop in a nearby parking lot, Fifer exited the driver’s seat. Since she’d made sure to keep her gun on her person the whole drive to keep it away from Caroline, she decided to quickly get out and delicately take Gabe’s trusty rifle and hand it to him with the slightest, genuine smirk. She did this for two reasons: one, to ensure that Caroline didn’t 'help' him with something she shouldn’t be handling at all, and two, to drop yet another small hint. If a lady did something courteous for a man like this, when usually the other way around was expected, she usually liked him. She was a little doubtful at this point that he’d get it, though.

“Alright,” Fifer said, “he was last spotted a few blocks down. I suggest we stay loosely together, and try to be as quiet as possible. All I know is, splitting up is NOT an option. Werewolves are fast, stealthy and powerful, and could easily kill any one of us in the blink of a fuckin’ eye if we’re alone, or hell, even with just one other person to cover us.” She added that last part just in case Caroline suggested to split up two and two just so she could be alone with Gabe. Fifer wasn’t taking that chance. In fact, she was one step ahead. “Chase, Caroline, you two do your best work up close so I suggest you take the front of the group.. Gabe and I will cover ya. Sound like a plan?” She smirked internally (her real face still remaining neutral however), knowing that the boys would more than likely agree with her as they always did, leaving a majority vote; and caroline wouldn’t dare disagree with Gabe, she was sure.

Before they went ahead and started looking for trouble though, she approached Chase and lightly clapped him on the shoulder. “Be careful back here,” she said, sincerity clear in her voice. She then turned towards the other two. “And that goes for everyone,” she said, although she was looking almost directly at Gabe, Caroline mostly catching the nonexistent “gaze” of her blind eye. Speaking of Caroline, Fifer was crossing her fingers on the inside that she wasn’t going to say anything about her calling the shots. Caroline would likely have heard that Fifer tended to take the reigns of just about every mission she went on, no matter who with, and quite frankly she thought Caroline could stuff it if she had a problem with that. “Alright you three, let’s get moving.” With that, the four of them began traversing the back allies, starting with one a few blocks in the general direction the werewolf was last seen heading. So far, there was no one to be seen or heard. It was very quiet…. Too damn quiet, as far as Fifer was concerned.

After listening to Aeryn's introduction an subsequent apology for her crow's actions, Durendal giggled softly. The pair reminded her of herself. She would always scream for more blood, encouraging her adrenaline-pumped masters to kill more than was necessary, which would result in them apologising and putting the blame on their 'cursed weapon' as they liked to call her. "Thy names art beautiful, and I find thy majestic raven's feathers to be equally attractive." She showered both the elf and her ogling partner with genuine compliments, fluttering her wings a little.

But now came the big question, one which Durendal hoped would clear any misunderstandings (on her part) up. "However, and I beg thy forgiveness, but art thou not a dark elf?" She asked as politely as she could, in case she did, in fact, make a mistake. She hoped not, as dark elves were skilled guard-makers (guards were always in need thanks to psychotic, serial killing dragonslayers), meaning there would be lots of bloodshed. Such a civil creature could possibly be one of them, or so she thought.

Yseri was having one heck of a nightmare. Dozens of Vesuria clones surrounded her, carrying various body parts and other objects with sexual connotations, from penises to condoms to dildos, holding them up to her and waving them to get her attention. They were also, both to her further embarrassment and, honestly, slight arousal as well, all wearing various items of skimpy clothing, from provocative two-piece underwear sets, to swimsuits, to straight up lingerie. “What’s this called?” One of them said, holding a strap-on dildo very close to her face. “What’s BDSM?” Another asked. The extremely naive inquiries just kept coming, seeming to come from every direction, even above and below.

Just when Yseri felt as though she’d truly die of embarrassment right then and there, suddenly, the closest clone kissed her. Instantly, she calmed down, and felt with all her being that this was no clone pressing her lips to the Faun’s, but the real Vesuria. In her peripheral vision, she began to notice the clones disappearing one by one, as if the true Vesuria’s kiss revealed her as the same. Yseri closed her Viridian eyes softly, her white hair splayed over her face as the dream-Vesuria pressed her lips further to hers, sending the both of them to the ground. Yseri then thought to herself that all of these embarrassing questions were worth bearing to get closer to Vesuria, along with any other difficulties teh girl may cause her. This kiss made her chest warm, her heart beat faster; it made her feel alive, and was surprisingly vivid. It felt even more real when she opened her eyes again, and swore she was in a different place, and a familiar one. The town hall. Still half-asleep, she decided that, since this was a dream and she was in control, there’d be no harm in kissing back. So, eyelids still half-closed, she leaned into Vesuria and kissed her back.

A few moments into it however, the fog began truly receding. In this moment, Yseri realized, to her horror, that she was wide awake, at the Gala, and memories came flooding back. Memories of the ight s far, all teh way up until she felt so embarrassed she began to lose consciousness. She was kissing the real Vesuria. In real life. Her heart pounding, she hurriedly broke the kiss, her face beet-red of course. She almost wanted to feint again, but as she glanced about and saw a LOT of eyes on her and Vesuria, she began to panic. “E-erm,” Yseri stuttered, shaking. “Th-thank you for.. bringing me back to conciousness, Vesuria… th-that was what you were trying to do, right? A-and please, no more questions for now…. I-if you wish, I can answer them after the Gala at a time where we’re alone… either way.. I very much enjoyed the k- the erm, resuscitation.” She’d have to explain what kissing was later as well. Oh boy… she certainly did have her work cut out for her.

Straightening herself out and sitting up straight, Yseri took a deep breath. ‘No more hysterics, Yseri’ she told herself. ‘Just keep going like nothing happened.’ Then, she had an idea. “If you wish for a third plate, by all means… look like there’s a fair bit of roast hog left.” Once she was able to gather herself, she’d be fine. She may never be able to live this down but, as horrifyingly embarrassing as this date was, Vesuria couldn’t have possibly done anything she had done to embarass the poor Faun on purpose. Yseri wanted very much to teach the girl, as hard as it would likely be. And even if her naivete never fully subsided for maturity, Yseri still very much could see herself greatly enjoying Vesuria’s company. Her happy-go-lucky nature was refreshing, and even a little contagious in Yseri’s eyes. Besides, Yseri found her deeply attractive and found herself thinking about teaching her all about ‘Venus Flytraps’ someday soon.

"I feel awkward" Xander replied he wasn't really sure of the proper etiquette at these shin digs Hell he was sure he was doing everything all wrong, but he was acting the way he had been bought up to act, trying to keep his manners, be as friendly as possible unless it was necessary to act otherwise "I'm really not used to being around so many people"

"I hear you on that one" Rick said sounding a little bored, "i'm thinking about heading to the cafe just down the road, they have the most amazzzinng ice coffees"

Rick all but lickedhis lips at the thought of a nice ice coffee to wake himeself up from the boredom he had gotten himself into. Coffe wasn't something a typical vampire would drink but he wasnt like the rest of his kind, he was a part of a select few that could breathe and have all the otber benifits it came with it, such as illness, while having a bad allergy to the sun and requirement of blood that most were unwilling to part with. Immortality was something hehad yet to find out about.

Xander looked at Rick confused "but... I thought vampires only drank blood... I thought that was a necessity" Xander thought everything he had heard about vampires was now false aversion to sunlight, and a necessary need for blood, but this vampire was telling him different

"I'm not your typical garden variety vamp" Rick saw the Fox's confused look and sighed, "uss those ears of yours, you will notice a heart beat, handy for getting into places most vamps aren't allowed" he chuckled.

"nice little disguise you have there if it wasn't for the eyes you wouldnt be able to tell you are a vampire" he flicked his ears when it came to the 'disguises' it was kind of a sore subject for the young fox how he wished he was able to finally master the full shift but it was something that, for now, would have to wait and in a way he had kinda got used to his current appearance

"I wear contacts to deal with a simple colour changs, cheaper then those potions people sell" He noticed xander seemed to almost flinch when he mentioned the word disguise but decided it wasnt worth the trouble of asking about it, after all it wasnt any of his business if the fox could change his form.

"contacts, that would do it I guess" Xander chuckled and looked at the vampire "actuallly a coffee sounds great I can always come back here later it may yet get busier later on, lead the way" Xander stood ready to follow the vampire, he looked around at the room once more checking to see if anyone else had arrived

Rick smiled as he pushed himself off the wall and left the area heading down to the cafe and ordering his usual ice coffee of half strength, without the cream or ice cream most places put into cold drinks.

"So, seeing as you are apart of the whole love club thing, what is the appeal about it?" He asked curiously

"hmm" Xander sighed "I think most of us are here to prevent complete extinction, we are trying to stop our races dying out" Xander ordered a hot Latte and sat at the table "I think for most its a sense of duty to find love and procreate as it were"

"Makes sense as most species seem to be dying out" he took a long sip of his drink, "so were you there for love or duty?" He asked curiously

"both I think" Xander said before taking a long sip of his drink "most of my kind are related to me and, contrary to popular belief, Kitsune are not into incestuous relationships"

"Hey, i dont judge" he gave a small joking smile testing the waters, seeing how far he could push xander before he either lashed out or just laughed.

Xander chuckled slightly "people see foxes as jumping on anything they can get hold of, whether they be family or not, actual one tails may be like that but nine tails not so much" he thought for a moment to see if that sounded as right in his head as he had menat to sound "I apologise I have just met you and I am giving you my life story... I'm not usually so forthcoming"
