  • Name: Wilfred McMillan

    Gender: Male

Occupation/Area of Study: Professor of Paleontology

    Appearance:

    PfLkK17.jpg

Brief Information: McMillan belongs to a family originating from Ireland. He is the first generation to be born as American in Providence, RI in the year 1879. McMillan's Father and Grandfather were both explorers often focusing on expeditions in Africa. The Estate McMillan grew up in were often filled with ancient artifacts and what initially sparked McMillan's interest in Archaeology.

While attending college at Miskatonic University (that his father was affiliated with), he came to know William R. Chambers. A fellow student in the Science Department. The two got along really well and the both eventually left Miskatonic to further their education in the UK. After a few years they both obtain a Doctorate's Degree and parted ways. McMillan continued in his father's footsteps in conducting research in Africa. After being seriously injured from an automobile accident in Egypt, he was unable to continue working on any expeditions.

McMillan returned to his homeland and eventually met his wife Priscilla and becoming a professor at Miskatonic. To his surprise, his old pall William was also a fellow professor there. It would be six years later that McMillan would disappear.

Name: James Thorold

Age:34

Gender:Male

Occupation/Area of Study: A professor in the field of English

Appearance: A tall, thin man with a continental look about him, with dark hair, a tall torso, lengthy arms and dextrous fingers. His attire consists near entirely of jumpers and slacks, looking at home in the university - when outdoors, he dons a longer coat, reaching to knee level, and respectable walking shoes.

Personality: Highly contemplative, deeply thoughtful, and generally detached from the issues of others.

Pillars of Sanity: His absolute and all consuming love of literature - he finds this the one thing that can hold his attention for any lengthy period of time, and so consumes vast quantities of highly thought provoking and sometimes “odd” works.

Logic - this has never failed him, and so he places great trust in his ability to deduce the solution to a problem with thought and fact alone.

Fears: The inability, or failure of his mental capacity to solve the issue at hand.

Proficiency:

Occult - thought not directly affiliated with McMillan, his skills were called upon several times, and he has taken the time to decipher a little of the works that were given to him by McMillan in the helps of furthering the completion of whatever was working on, though the exact nature of his accomplishments remained a secret to him. His works on this gave him a little insight into the workings of several old organizations and cults throughout history.

Listen - perhaps what got him so far in his academic career. His ability to listen and recall the words of the various lecturers he listened to, has been hailed as utterly uncanny.

Endurance (walking and the like) - though he boasts no true physical strength, his ever thinking mind has found solace in wandering. Many of his holidays have revolved around nothing but himself and the wilderness of whatever locale he has chosen to enjoy.

Deficiency:

Physical Strength - being a professor and not exactly the most athletic individual in the world, he lacks any true physical capacity.

Conversation - his social skills are not so much lacking, as they are untrained. Where his diction is good, and his words at the ready, he has little intuition as to how to advance his interactions with others. Even his language skills can often translate into a sense of profound aloofness that manages to annoy many.

History:

Born to a traditionally Christian English family, he grew up in the heart of London where his father worked as an accountant, and his mother a midwife in the local hospital. Both parents worked to instill in him fear of the divine, and a good set of functional work ethics - the logical thought process his father worked to teach him certainly stuck. His mother was an organized woman, and this too played a part in his neat living style, obvious by the state of his well kept bedroom even through his teenage years.

At school, his love for English and language took him to great heights, and though this was not the career path either of his parents favoured, they supported his decisions nonetheless. He found himself studying under a variety of professors, one eventually alighting on his incredible capability to decipher old language and unlock the secrets of foreign tongue. This ability, was eventually realized by an American lecturer, who had arrived from the home university of McMillan, and so once James was of the correct age, he was shipped off to study, and then to research, within the institution.

  • Name: Louis Garrod

    Nickname: Lou

    Age: 29

    Sex: Female

Occupation: Mathematics Professor. She currently teaches College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Analytic Geometry.

    Appearance:

    287b84b97e2f16c80c9073276882ae7e.jpg
With light brown hair and eyes, Louis can draw the eyes of almost any man. She has a long nose yet small and fairly sized lips. Her complexion isn't quite the color of paper, but nearly the color of the island St. Lucia's sand. She doesn't buy into the flapper behavior or the shorter skirts and over-exposure of skin. She is quite conservative. She tends to wear long skirts and matching long sleeve shirts when she's out casually. She likes simple colors like the different shades of brown, blue, and pink. When she's working as a professor, she tends to dress more masculine. She would add a hefty jacket to her attire and wear clothing more loosely fit.

Name: Charles D. Ward

Age: 39?

Gender: Male

Occupation/Area of Study: Professor of Chemistry

Appearance: Though Charles is a man pushing forty, or so his records would have you believe, but his appearance is that of a man in his late twenties. He has black medium length slicked back hair and intense blue eyes that always appear to be looking into the darkness of a man's soul. He has a slim frame and stands tall among most men, and his angular face gives him a menacing look.

Personality: Charles is not a friendly person, but he has his priorities and he'll do anything he must to achieve the ends he desires. He's a harsh teacher, but an honest man - to a point. He has secrets, many of them, and he keeps them close and never opens up. If reached out to for help he'll give it so long as it doesn't put him in danger or cost him anything.

Pillars of Sanity:

  • The past is the past - and no one can change it or know the full truth of it
  • There will always be another - as long as his family persists, so too will the thirst for knowledge.
  • The darkness is where all life comes from - his occult reasoning his lead him to believe this
  • Alchemy can fix anything

Fears: He has an intense fear of death and dying.

Proficiency:

  • Anthropology
  • Biology
  • Disguise
  • History
  • Chemistry
  • Medicine
  • Occult
  • Pharmacy

Deficiency:

  • Social Anxiety?
  • Physically Weak

History:

Professor Ward, supposedly, showed up on campus one winter afternoon with his papers in hand and simply took over the teaching position of Chemistry from the now former teacher. No one is sure why he was given the already filled position but since he's taken it over the class has become one of the harder ones, and more over, one sometimes focusing on the overly esoteric side of the field. Some might even say "alchemical" in nature.

Charles is rumored to be among the teachers and students that meet and discuss the occult, though less frequently then the others. When he is there, and if allowed to talk of the subjects he chooses, he talks of resurrection and immortality. As if they were achievable through his scientific works.

No one is sure as to why Charles has agreed to search for the missing professor, but once more - as much of his life seems to be - it is rumored that professor Ward and professor McMillan may have been studying some dark and dangerous things together.

Vladimir "Vladdy" Vitali Hayes

  • 2ylo95g.jpg

    Age:

35 (Feel free to let me know if this is a little to young)

    Gender:

    Male

    Occupation/Area of Study:

A student working on his degree in Medicine.

    Fears:

Any kind of dog-like creature. Misdiagnosing a patient. Losing his mother.

As a child Vladdy was fortunate to be raised in a well-to-do family. His father was a doctor and his mother was a nurse. Really, with the amount of time they put into working he was lucky to have been concieved at all. More of his life was spent at the hospitals where his father worked than at home. As he aged he has found his scholastic life fairly easy due to his father's occupation.

Following in his father's footsteps he has decided to study medicine to become a doctor. Unbeknownst to his family, he has taken an interest in psychology and studies it when he is on his own. His father and mother definitely would not have approved. They wanted their son to be a grand doctor, well known across the land, finding cures for diseases and such. Psychiatry was a waste of time.

Name: William R. Chambers

Age: 43

Gender: Male

Occupation/Area of Study: Professor of Zoology

Appearance:

P6Eqdvq.jpg

Personality: William is a laid back sort of guy. Unlike others his age, he is very into the times, taking a liking to all the parties and jazz music. If only he were younger and not a teacher, you bet your sweet baby's bottom he'd be out there partying with all the other hip folks. The fact that he is such a lady killer and womanizer, it's a shame a smart man like himself is not married yet. People always compare himself with his life long friend McMillan and despite not liking the comparison, he laughs it off and winks if there is a pretty lady around. But despite all his playing around, William will take the time to be serious. In fact he's very serious about his job, but knows what it's like to be a student just trying to not fail your college course. He'll take his time to get to know his students and help with whatever they struggle with and often offers extra help after the class days end.

Pillars of Sanity:

  • Wilfred McMillan: Believes his close friend is still alive and that he'll do anything for his friend as he knows McMillan would do the same for him. William would even give his life for the man. That's dedication.
  • God: While not overly religious, he does believe there's an old man up there somewhere looking out for everyone.
  • Seeing is believing: Basically, everything around him is the way it should be.
  • Logic: He may not be smart with women's feelings, but he's got a pretty solid understanding of what should be logical

Fears:

  • Heights/Falling
  • Things flying in his face (IE, bugs, all kinds of bugs, dust, leaves, anything that goes in his face that shouldn't be)
  • Getting emotionally intimate with women
  • Senseless Gore and Mutilation (Anything intentionally harming another thing for the fun of it, but he understands the concept of hunting and isn't bothered by that)

Proficiency:

  • Dodging
  • Fast Talking
  • Brawling/Fighting
  • Hiding/Sneak
  • Listen
  • Other Language
  • Shotgun
  • Driving

Deficiency:

  • Spotting things that aren't easy to find
  • Riding
  • Piloting
  • Psychoanalyzing
  • Persuasion
  • Navigation/Tracking (unless tracking an animal)
  • Any sort of medical attention (apply first aid, diagnosing and the like)

History: William was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. He was always the charismatic kid who strives to be everyone's favorite while doing anything he set his mind to. Growing up, he often accompanied his father on business trips to New York City. Once the Bronx Zoo officially opened, it became William's mission to visit the zoo every time they came to New York City. William had such a huge fascination with animals and would eventually go on to adopting quite a bit in his lifetime.

He eventually met Wilfred McMillan at the Miskatonic University. The two started out as bonding over the sports teams at their school, but their friendship grew and the two were ever hardly seen apart. They got coined the nickname "Will and Wil". After finishing up school, the two traveled to England to peruse their Post Graduate education together, but after finishing, his friend parted and joined his father in Africa. That was the last time he'd hear from in for a few years. Though would often see him in the newspapers regarding his expedition. A couple years after he started working at Miskatonic, it would be a great surprise to find out that Wilfred will be working at Miskatonic as well, though unfortunately his poor friend had to walk around with a cane. After Wilfred would disappear, it would be William who would suggest a search party to the people that were close to Wilfred as well.
