Realistic or Modern The Dead among us

Phillip watched as Sage passed by his room through the crack he had left open in his door. I guess she had enough as he did. Did Troye actually let that girl in ? That thought kept coming across Phillip's mind, it rattled him. He got up from his bed, and looked down the hall at Sage's room, the door shut. He didn't know whether she wanted to be left alone, or if it was just because. He paused for a moment, unsure if he wanted to disturb her or not, he did.

He shuffled down the hall where her room, everyone was downstairs now so he didn't have to worry about a certain someone opening their door when he was trying to talk to Sage. his temper was still inside him, as he was about to knock on the door, he stopped himself, noticing how hard it would've been. He loosened up the fits he had formed and lightly tapped on the center of the wooden door. It was like morning all over again, except he was pissed off and there was a stranger downstairs, who proving to be very untrustworthy already. "Knock knock," he said.

Sage was laying on her bed thinking when Philip came. "Come in" she said as she scooted herself up on the bed, hugging her knees to her chest.

Alex beamed at the sight of Emi "This is my wife Eva." he said gesturing to Eva, "This is Emi" he said smiling at Eva.

Emi nodded shyly at the girl, "I heard you dicussing with another person in our grouo about her... I'm glad you found her" she smiled genuinely and went back inside the house. Being outside kind of scared her.

Eva smiled at thr girl, "so whos is she with?" Eva asked Alex after Emi went inside, "surely a small fragile girl like that couldn't survive on her h0own, unless you helped her." Eva smiled at Alex.

"She was with her sister Jessica, but the group managed to get seperated, so she's with me now." He said quietly as he watched Emi walk back to her room.

A frown touched Eva's lips "do you think Jessica is alive?" She asked Alex quietly and looked around, "actually, nevermind" she shook her head, "I found you... so she'll find her sister." She smiled softly at Alex

Rylee let out a scoff as Troye was suddenly becoming angry with her. "First you said I can have my gun back and now you changed your mind when I complied?" She stared at him in disbelief, feeling herself growing extremely angry, but she quickly calmed herself down. He was right, there were five of them and one of her, and she'd probably have done the same thing for she was not as trusting as these people were. The other few groups she was in allowed her into the group without question, which is why they didn't last as long.

"Fine." Was the only word she said as she took the gun in her hand and placed it carefully on the floor. She slowly got up, not trying to alarm anyone to think she was going to do something, and removed the pocket knife from her back pocket, also placing it on the floor beside the gun. Though she did it hesitantly, not liking to give her protection up, but she did as she was told. Her face held a very cold look as she took a seat, her hands folded in her lap as she sat rigidly.

"I'm here because I need a place to stay the night and this place seemed safe," she said in a hard tone, "Like I said before and excuse me for my language, but my jeep shat the fucking bed and I hadn't had any rest in a couple of damn days, so I'm pretty tired." And she added, completely ignoring the woman's, who stood beside Troye, silent message. "And seeing how you guys really are now, I'm glad I didn't go knocking on the front door or you'd shoot my damn head off."

As Rylee felt like she left off some steam with her little rant, she felt herself relax just a bit and said with a genuine yet hard tone lingering in her voice, "But I like that. Groups that just let anyone around them and let their guard down for a second, they don't last as long."

"She's with Troye. I know she's alive." Alex said smiling confidently at Eva. "There's a lot more people you haven't met yet, but they're with Troye so it may be a while."

Troye picked up Rylee's weapons. Calming down he said "Where's your jeep?" Troye passed Rylee's weapons to Jessica.

"Okay" she smiled and took his hand. The cold barrier she built during the apocalypse slowly started breaking as she stood there holding his hand. "Alex... I'm sorry, about the fight. I love you so much" she said quietly and looked at him.

Emi stood at the stairs, watching Alex and Eva, witnessing how much they love eachother. A small smile touched her lips. She would never find love like that in the apocalypse.

"Don't be sweetheart.. I love you too." Alex said combing Eva's hair back gently. He had missed her so much, and he was glad to finally have her back.

Eva leaned her cheek against his hand and kissed the palm of it. She looked back at him and smiled, but yawned. She hadn't slept in days, and she was exhausted.

"Just a couple of blocks down," Rylee answered, watching as her weapons were being passed between Troye and Jessica,"Take a right when you leave the gates and just keep going straight." She bit her tongue to keep her from starting a conversation for she shouldn't get too comfortable with these strangers, the leader of the group was going to send her on her way once her jeep was fixed. Or just send her out regardlessly. She didn't care much, though about the whole vehicle and confiscated weapon situation, it still worried her a bit about how she would defend herself and such in this apocalypse.

"Do you plan on restoring it, or just finding a new vehicle?" Troye said switching to neutral conversation. Troye looked back at Jessica who seemed a little anxious. This girl was making everyone nervous. Troye was trying his hardest to have a little hope in Rylee, but she was a little to much of a smart ass way too soon. Then again, Troye was the king of being a smart ass. " You know what, its whatever." Troye said grabbing Rylee's weapons back from Jessica. He slid them back to her in one swift motion. "And just know if you choose to stick with us, you have to earn your keep." Troye said before walking into the dining room of the house.

Alex sat on the couch with Eva going oveer the events that had happened that lead him to where he was now. He talked about the whole group < he talked about his drunken nights with Troye, and he talked about missing her through it all.

Rain decided since everyone was being mean to Rylee shed be nice so she walked over to her and sat down."hi."she said awkwardly messing with her nails.

Evas eyes glistened with tears as Troye talked about it all, "you're a great man Troye..." she said quietly, placing a pdck on his lips then laying her head on his thigh, closing her eyes and just starting to fall asleep. "I missed you" she mumbled

"Well with all these undead roaming about, I don't think it would be safe to even try to repair it. It's probably seen its final days anyway. I'll just find a new vehicle or just head off on foot," she said. If there was one thing on Rylee's mind, it was to always be on the move. She didn't like staying in one place for too long, especially given with her past.

Rylee raised her eyebrows as Troye slid back her weapons. "Of course." She picked up her weapons, pocketing the pocketknife and placing her gun into her bag. Then a girl sat down beside her, who just gave off an awkward vibe. The room was either as tense as hell or awkward.

"Hello..." She said a bit tensely and she would have said her name, but she didn't know anyone's name. "I probably shouldn't ask, but what are your names?"

Rain looked at the girl surprised most didnt talk back and it usually made it quiet she looked up at the girl and smiled."I'm Rain."she said.

Phillip walked in, he sat on the opposite side of the bed as Sage. He was staring at his feet for a few moments before he spat it out, but it was more like an inaudible mumble rather than a sentence "I love you too." Sage looked puzzled, she obviously didn't comprehend what he had just said. Phillip cleared his throat, and twiddled with hi thumbs before looking up at Sage, "I love you too." This time it was clear. Clear, and soft, and friendly, and most importantly, it was genuine.

His cheeks grew red, and he looked down again. He had never said that before, only to his parents. It felt amazing to get it off his chest, and it felt amazing to him that he actually felt in love with someone. Before Phillip used to just treat girls as more of a pastime, but Sage changed all of this. No longer would he ever see a girl the same way again, and he didn't need to. Sage was all he needed.

Sage blushed a bit after realizing what Philip was saying. "I thought you forgot." she said looking down. She was happy he said it back. She had never said she loved a guy before except for those in her family, and she was glad she wasn't denied for it. "Thanks? I guess?" she said laughing. She was unsure of what she was supposed to say now, so she scooted closer to Philip, and for the first time, she kissed him first.

Her awkward response to the statement was cute. Before he could smile back at her she had kissed him. So this was what being kissed first felt like, it as different he had to admit, and he enjoyed it. Phillip kissed back and then they soon returned to where they were before the girl had came into the house. He didn't want to rush things but all he could think about while kissing her neck was the temptation. It was driving him insane.

Rylee gave a half smile before it returned to her natural slight frown. Smiling wasn't her forte, even before the apocalypse it hadn't been. She was a bit taken aback that someone was actually being nice to her because of the smart ass, cold impression she gave off, even if it was a teenage girl.

"Cool name," she said, though in the back of her mind there was something telling her not to get close, and if she did, that would mean trust, and trust in others was something she didn't have. Though she did have to play nice since this was one of the few safe places this broken down city had to offer.

Sage laid back on the bed, enjoying every bit of what was happening. She loved Philips touch, and she never wanted it to end. Things were going slow right now, and she liked it. If things started to go to fast they would simply slow down. She knew it was the apocalypse, and things aren't guaranteed anymore, but she knew she still would take things slow, as she would if the world was normal.
