Fantasy The Cofee Pot Café (closed)

"That's what makes it fun." whispered the twins, slyly. The two went back to their customers and whispered something to them. The group of girls they had been entertaining with their brotherly love looked at the pug warlord warily.

@Garnet

Yong nodded his head in appreciation "You have my gratitude Barkeeper" he took a sip of his drink, The Warlord's eyes popped open as the beverage ran down his throat "Barkeeper this Sake is simply heavenly. I demand to know it's brand!" he was oblivous to the twins scheming though he did dislike them by appearance alone.

@Garnet

Hostess/Gardner Arnaya Edderkop

Ara wandered into the cafe, having finished maintaining the garden's hedges which took a bit longer then usual due to there some unknown reason but it wasn't because she was steering at the prince. no certainly not she wasn't eyeballing the elven prince or waiting for him to come to her and proclaim his undying love for her and demand her to be his queen at the spot, that would be just absurd. she walked over to the Counter. "Freya Darling would it be too much of problem to have some green leaf tea"

Making the Parade Float

'Er,'
said Soma uncertainly, wondering if he should have brought someone else, 'don't let them catch sight of your blades, and tone down the fright, or you'll give the café a bad reputation.

'There! There, and there.'
said Soma through his thoughts, giving her a mental image of eighteen different stalls all over the market. 'Seventy pounds of beef, three baskets of Wilkin Potatoes, three whole pork, fifty chicken drumsticks and whole smoked bacon.'

Freya sighed at the twins.

"Well, whatever you plan on doing, I wish you luck but know that I will not take part in it." She said sternly. She turned to the Pug who had demanded to know the brand of the sake. Glancing at the bottle, Freya mouthed it silently to make sure she could pronounce it right.

"Gayubai. The brand is Gayubai. I'm glad you like it." She smiled politely. Turning to the gardener, she nodded a greeting.

"No problem at all, um...Ara." Freya couldn't remember her full name but it sounded something like that. She put the kettle on and turned back to Ara.

"Say Ara, do you know much about the Parade Float?" She said, trying to strike a conversation while the kettle boils.

Avalin huffed. You could've have told me earlier, why me again? Couldn't you call the stupid errand boys? Avalin pulled in the beast and sheathed her daggers, flicking her black hood up, it changed to a more friendly colour as the rest of her body followed suit. She was changing her forms.

"Not like they know who I am," she muttered to herself as she looked at the owls above her, placing a hand on her head at the flash of images. Cheers for the headache. Looking up she turned to each stall in turn loacting the places and storing them in her mind. "How am I supposed to carry all of this?" uncertainty was in her voice as the woman spoke to herself and dashed forward out of the way of a housewife. "Stall number one!"

Pushing woman out of her way she crawled through and reached the front, the wallet in her hand. "Whole smoked bacon and three whole pork!" she shouted at the man who sighed and dashed about fullfilling her order like he was doing with the others. "Great," she shouted, threw the money and disappeared in the crowd. They were heavy but not too bad. You're owls are carrying this right? God dammit as soon as I'm finished with this job I'm heading home.

"Not all too much i am afraid, though Madam did lend me to it's host to help out with floral arrangement of a number floats." She placed her bottom arms on the counter "Never before have i been requested to sculpt a bear owl." Then the kettle began to screech @Garnet

"That certainly sounds interesting. Though I have never heard of a bear owl before." Freya remarked, taking the kettle off the stove and pouring it into a mug. She pulled open a drawer filled with tea-bags and picked one out that said 'green leaf tea'. Dipping the bag in the mug, she slid the mug to Ara.

Ara chuckled at Freya's remark "Darling if you've heard one then might as well already seen one, There literally nothing more then a owl's head on top of bear's body, it like a griffon." A look of sudden realization appears on Ara's face "Oh i believe i still have the picture the host handed me for visual aid" she began looking through her apron "Ah there we go" she slid the picture to Freya

"My Father had one stuffed" Ara stated before grabbing her cup

Host Quynn Zelphar

"Quynn Zelphar," the elf said, taking the extended hair. "Nice to meet you Freya." One employee down, many to go. Quynn quickly lost track of the conversation as Greta and a waiter discussed the rowdy guest. He still wasn't quite sure what kind of creature to was but yes, the thing's toe beans looked very interesting...

Quynn was saved from trouble by these amusing thoughts, which distracted him from actually getting involved with the twins' plotting. By the time his mind returned to the present, an even stranger creature was being served by Freya. It part spider, part human, a most intriguing mix in Quynn's opinion.

Not knowing she was an employee, Quynn put on all his charm as he addressed the woman. "Host Quynn Zelphar," he said, extending his hand to her. "And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?"

Still smiling, he turned to Freya. "Did you mention a floating parade?" Having never attended a human parade before, he was quite impressed that their parade floats.

Making the Parade Float

Soma and Avalin were walking back to the café. All their groceries were floating behind them inside enchanted transparent bubble balloons that Soma was pulling leisurely behind him.

He glanced sideways at Avalin and noticed the annoyed expression of his companion. "Good job." said Soma after a while. "We were able to buy everything we needed in less than ten minutes." his face had the bored expression as usual, but his eyes had a light-hearted twinkle to them.

A light blush appeared on Arnaya's cheek due to elf's advances, she placed her hand in his and gave him her name "I am Arnaya Edderkop but call me Ara darling." Ara tried to sound calm and collected but found herself lightly stuttering in the presence of the elf. Ara took sip of her tea to try to calm her nerves "And we were just speaking of what the parade's host had commissioned me to sculpt, such as a bear owl, unicorn and a beholder i had to use some webbing for the last one" @Musical Dragon

Avalin huffed, her clothing darkening as it was before she ploughed into the Housewives of Hell, she saw the familiar Cafe she had been working in for what? Felt like an Eon. Her dark eyes eyed the floating bubbles Soma casted then resided on the man himself, his neutral expression told nothing but his eyes, the windows to his own soul, light-hearted and playful. "It will never be a good job unless I hear the words that I have earned my freedom and my Family's possessions from the Witch. Why others stay here confuse me," Avalin looked at Soma.

"The parade, what else is needed?" she asked in an attempt to change the conversation, very few she spoke to, so it wasn't a suprise if she kept things straight forward and snappy. Avalin was not one to mess around with.

"How far are we with the float?"

"Earned your freedom?" repeated Soma, curious and surprised. " . . . Did Madame take away your freedom?" His expression became serious, though he didn't look like he believed that Madame would actually force someone to work in the café.

@LaDyGrEy

Avalin glared at him. "I'm trapped until I get that amulet back, working for her like a dog at her beck and call," to be honest she wasn't literally trapped but in order to get Family's Amulet back, she had to work and she couldn't just go home without it, so she was stuck, working, working and constantly working.

"The float?" she repeated again to Soma, not wanting to talk about herself, she much preferred the information of others.

"The ladies are sewing costumes and making props, while the men are constructing the float." said Soma, following the change of topic.

They arrived at the closed café where the partially completed float stood in the back meadows under a large purple open tent. The girls were in the main hall making costumes and chatting liesurely.

"Feel free to help where your talents can best serve" said Soma, heading to the kitchens with the grocery balloons. "Roy is in charge of the float, while Hazel is in charge of costumes. I'm in charge of props."

@LaDyGrEy

Avalin raised her brows she couldn't sew and neither did she wish to spend more time with any particular person. Float it is then. Spinning on her heel and heading into the large purple tent, Avalin looked around for her next assignment, perhaps doing something big would help her one step closer. Plus she was good at a drawing. "Roy! Anything you need me to help with?" she asked quickly with a roll of her eyes, talking to others was such a tiring part of life, she much preferred to be alone.

"Helping hand? Or two?" she said meaning her puppet and herself.

Host Quynn Zelphar

"Nice to meet you, Ara," Quynn replied with a smile. "Bear owls and unicorns are no easy feat. I'm sure they turned out lovely."

Ara's tea smelled pleasant and Quynn decided he'd probably had enough alcohol for the night. "Might I bother you for some of that tea, Freya? It smells heavenly."

He turned back to Ara. "Tell me more about this parade - I've never attended a human parade before, and the topic intrigues me." Quynn wondered if he could attend this parade - it would be a great learning experience. Human culture was so interesting and varied so much from the elf culture Quynn had grown up in.

"Two!" said Roy, winking at her. "Is that shadow strong, cuz' we do a lot of heavy lifting." he was carrying a beam of log that had been magically sliced in two by one of the employees.

Touch Guest Yong Wong's Paw Pads!

The twins emerged from the garden in fine desert clothes, carrying towels and a pan with hot water.

"Hail, mighty Warlord Yong Wong!" said the twins grandly, bowing deeply. "Allow us, honored guest, to wash and massage your feet."

@billthesomething
the twins sudden appearance caused Yong to spill his drink all over himself so gave the twins a frown and glare. but it quickly transformed into a mighty grin when he registered their request "Now this is proper respect!" he said with hardy laugh "the lower class should know who there better are. I shall grant you this request but on one condition"

@Zer0 "You shall polish my armor you're entrance caused me to spill my drink so it needs polishing" Yong takes off his upper body armor and hands it to the twins "Polish it and then we can talk about washing my feet"

Touch Guest Yong Wong's Paw Pads!

"Yes, sir!" said Ethan and Evan, retreating into the kitchen with the pug warlord's armor.

When they were out of earshot and at the back. "Michael," said Evan calling one of the errand boys who was chopping some wood, "call everyone who's idle and polish this armor."

"Yes!" said Michael. He left the armor carefully in the grass and went off to call the other errand boys and girls who had nothing to do.

"I like that kid." said Ethan, "He doesn't ask any questions."

Michael came back with three people carrying rags and a bottle of Ye Olde Polish and they began cleaning and rubbing it down.

The twins waited, chatting. They didn't join in or they would end up smelling like polish even after they've washed for hands, which isn't very attractive to customers.

"Why do you suppose he wanted us to polish the armor first before washing his feet?" asked Evan, watching the customers in the garden. There was a visiting unicorn who was talking with Madame outside.

Ethan shrugged. "Perhaps it's tradition?" he suggested. Ethan was leaning against the wall and crowd watching too.

"I wonder if they sniff each other's butts as a greeting in their world just like ordinary dogs?" asked Evan seriously.

Ethan chuckled. "That'd be strange, I mean, they're wearing clothes."

"So?"

"Dogs only sniff each other if they're not wearing clothes."

"But ordinary dogs don't wear clothes." said Evan, emphasizing his point with a hand.

"How can they smell each other through their clothes?" argued Ethan back.

"They're dogs, they can smell better."

The errand boys and girls just listened to the twins in silence as the two continued their nonsense conversation very seriously.

@billthesomething

Avalin nodded. "Depends how long you need him for, " she stated, she'd have to switch his state to light so he was solid but that wasn't a problem, she didn't expect everyone to know that. "How's it coming along?" She asked as the girl became rather hot in the tent and removed her cloak, how did they work in here!? Thank Goddess Hel I waiter and bartend.

Hazel overheard Freya and Quinn's conversation and sat with her legs crossed on one of the bar stools beside the elf.

"The Summer Parade is the highlight of the summer festival," said Hazel, smiling at Quynn and the two ladies, "although they say it's the end-of-celebration fireworks competition at night that really draws the tourists.

"All the major schools, big merchant names, major guilds, and the royal family will have a float. We'll be making one ourselves next week . . . the theme is Mad Hatter Tea Party. The three of you should join in the stage performance on the float."
