For Beta-Golem's they awake fully formed life before they were gifted a human soul is lost to them all they remember is the name of the soul that was placed in them as it is embedded in their body somewhere, because betas are objects of magic and can only be made with powerful magic they have an easy understanding of most nature magic, although they don't know any high level spells most of their magic involves mostly innocent spells and tricks.
Class: Golem: Carries the burden and objects of their master, like a pack mule but stronger and faster.

Personality: Uriel is very bland as they don't truly know why or what they are, Uriel itself is filled with flaws and questions but lacks the ability and knowhow to seek the answers. While Uriel is very inquisitive they still have the mind of a child and often times act as one being very immature despite its appearance. As it stands now Uriel is dependent on other people for shelter and to learn how to act around other people. Despite all of this Uriel stays very friendly around humans as it sees no difference between itself and a human, elves and other races scare it often times causing Uriel to run away in fear.

Personality
: Selra has been blunt for most of her life. She is compassionate to a good cause but is not hesitant to call out a bad move. However she values how a plan will work over the feelings of others. Always quick to point out stuff that could go horribly wrong with some plans.
Bio: Selra comes from a long line of folk heroes. And ever since her childhood she always wanted to live up to her heroic bloodline. But at the age of 17 in her blind search she volunteered to be a member of the country of Tyrin, her homeland. While the act of the vicious training was but a small obstacle her faith was shaken when a small child was found in a village. Her commander ordered her to kill the child due to him being a mageling. When she hesitated her own life was threatened and she in an act of desperation slew the child

After this heinous act she left the military thanks to some underworld connections. For a solid year she was reminded of the life she had ended. Seeing couples who give birth to magelings and trying to hide them. But always terrified to help.

After a while Selra had calmed down claiming a home in the country for herself. And slowly what was a life of solitude turned into becoming a protector of a village that grew around her house. The people of the village loved Selra claiming her to be a gift from the long absent gods.

Come her 19th birthday her village had an odd visitor. An Elf hiding a mageling child. Selra was at first unwilling to help until the Empires black hand wing arrived at the village, Now in search of the elf and child. And with the slaughter of a family Selra now having enough of her empire rushed into battle and killed the three Black hands. And from then became a figurehead to a rebel group called the Blades of the Silver Dragon. And now armed and alone she heads to Riviana. Hoping to find more of the magic her empire banned. And hopefully be able to come back to Tyrin and bring back her home that her bloodline

Abyss blade: A relic from Tyrins age of magic. Rumour has it the blade was made in a realm with no light. It takes on the form of a greatsword that is entirely black. However the act of holding the blade is enough to drive those of weak will to insanity as it is rumoured that the blade holds the souls of those who die by it's hand.
Plate armor.
A standard greatswoed for when the Abyss blade becomes to much for her to wield.
Items & Personal Belongings: A ring, and a few holy symbols.
Skills & Abilities:
Is able to rally people to her cause
Had 4 years of military training and as such has knowledge of military tactics and general combat knowledge.
Spells & Magic: (Magical. Spells and magical abilities that the character has)
Selra can only cast magic thanks to her blade. Along with this because of a ritual Selra performed the blade can return to her with only a flick of her wrist.
Spells: Chromatic orb- Creates and orb which can take on most known elements. However Selra can't control the element of the orb so it is left to chance.
Blight: A touch spell which can deal heavy damage to organic lifeforms.
Weaknesses: (Weak sides of a character. Fears, inabilities, inexperience, emotional issues, mental issues, etc. Only ones that could be said to negatively affect the character) Due to the Abyss blade Selra has become much more unpredictable. And at times even turn her feral should she not focus on controlling her blade.
Along with this outside of combat she has a strong aversion to kids. As they are a painful reminder to her of what she had done.
Her biggest fear is allowing the Abyss blade to win the mental battle she had has been having with it for the past two years.

A primer on Tyrin
Tyrin is empire who has all but shunned magic. And from this action their gods have abandoned them. In Tyrin magic is a crime that is worse then any murder. The moment anyone is found to have magic the empire itself will send everything they have to kill that person. And anyone who speaks against them will be slaughtered with no remorse. Travelers have referred to Tyrin as "Hell on earth" the wildlife has all but disappeared except for some species. The forest only contain dead trees. And the land itself is barren. A prophecy tells of a mage with a special sword being the downfall of the empire and with magic the land could once more be lush and as bountiful as it was in the age of magic.

She created a mask to turn herself into a confident teenager to escape reality

--Bio--
Evangeline Night never really knew her parents. The only thing she remembered was her mother giving her a very special pendant that was in the family for generations. She was severely bullied for having ears and a tail of a fox. She hated it. Humans believed that it was only a disease. She had no friends. If she had any, they would all leave her eventually. When she was nine years old, a family was kind enough to take her in. She was excited! She finally had parents, a new home, but all that changed when her new parents found out how she looked, and neglected her. They didn't give her meals, proper clothing, or even a proper bed to sleep in. Eva had to do that all her self. It's been five years, and she couldn't take it anymore. Nothing changed. She was... invisible at home. She kept getting bullied everyday. She ran away from home, covering her ears with a hat. However, people in the streets still gave her skeptical looks.

When she was fifteen, she was spotted by a man that goes by the name "Roy". Roy was such a wonderful man. He gave her shelter, food, and clothing. He didn't care that she was a Kitsune. He only cared that she was a person as well. When she was with Roy, Roy taught her many things like physical defense. He showed her how to fight with katanas and bows. However, she decided to keep the katana, since she took a liking to it. Roy trained her and showed her many different martial art techniques. He showed her Judo, Kenpo, Karate, etc. You name it, he taught it. Roy even let her practice her Kitsune powers.

After two years, Eva wasn't the same milquetoast kid. No, she was a strong leader, making Roy proud. With high defense and magic levels, she decided to use her skills for good.

Aliases: blade wraith, king’s shadow, servant of darkness

Race: (previously human) blade-wraith. A blade-wraith is an extremely rare entity banished from death that is bound into the one goal of finding and retrieving Tiresias’s sword back to his lord/master/king. They are entities that look humanoid but do not show any skin or flesh whatsoever but instead only clothing and armor. These beings are restless and motivated to achieving the goal either willingly or by slitting some necks. They can be killed like any other man or woman but these blade-wraiths have special powers that make them unique. A bladewraith is made when an individual is given a ring of corruption and when the person dies they are bound to do their masters bidding. Once they achieve the goal they are made an even more powerful entity, a bladewraith with a free mind AND no master. Think how hard it would be then to take em out

Class: knight/elite guard

Sexuality: asexual (because he is driven to the one goal and the one goal only.)

High concept: an unkillable (will describe exceptions later ) bladewraith turned from a elite guard that was slain by one of the main characters in lore. That serves one purpose after death to retrieve Tiresias’s sword.

Alignment: Neutral evil (willing to do anything to achieve its goal such as killing but without intent of enjoying others pain)

Relatives: all discarded and killed

Organizations: a servant of the new dark king ( khan) working to get the sword .

Personality: currently because of being bound to that single task he has no real personality other than motivated to achieve the goal at any cost not on his own free will

Bio: Karsh was a child of the capital and mainly liked to stick to the shadows in most of the conflicts that occur in the city life . Despite his want to stick to the shadows the conflict always comes to him and he received the most conflict when there was a position of being in the kings court. He used everyone against eachother in order to rise from the wake of chaos and to gain that position. As the years went by he became a elite guard of the king but sadly tragedy struck when he was slain by our main characters at the confrontation. Khan selected Karsh and the other elite guards to get the sword for him as that is his sole purpose .

They can attach themselves to a new humanoid host, developing attributes and obtaining similarities in powers and skills, becoming the new host's shadow. A shadow without a host will fade into nothingness after a few decades depending on the number of souls used to create the shadow.

They are extremely ignorant, having learned nothing but how to be a servant. Quinn is very curious and wants to see and touch and taste and smell as much as she can to figure out the world. Quinn acts very much like a child more often than not in almost every situation because of their age. They are very quiet, rarely speaking of their own accord. Quinn has a fondness for cute things and children because of their first host's fondness for such things.
Bio: Quinn was created by Lily, a powerful elf sorceress, in a ritual by accident in an attempt to bring Lily's dead child back to life using a unique mixture of light and dark magics. Quinn spent many years in isolation with Lily quite happily despite the apparent failure of the ritual's intended meaning. Lily held in her a hidden sadness that led to Quinn watching their creator die slowly of depression due to the lack of the child Lily always wanted. Quinn, holding the connection to Lily's souls, felt her pain and spent Lily's last days alive by her side in a futile attempt to fill the hole in their creator's life.

With Lily's dying breath she told Quinn to keep the book that held the forbidden knowledge that created Quinn and make sure it didn't fall into the wrong hands. Quinn, seeing their creator lying dead, left the protection of their home for the first time ever after 2 years and found themselves in the snowy city Lathbora Viran. With great, but sadly futile, determination, Quinn set off, moving through the shadows to look for the child Lily never had the chance to have. Over the next two years Quinn moved from city to city across the lands, targeting children with dark hair or blue eyes similar to how Lily's lost child looked, singing hypnotically beautiful lullabies to put children into a sleep deep enough for Quinn to attempt to link themselves to children in the middle of the night.

As a result, few but enough children began dying for rumors of The Bedtime Killer to scatter across both the elven and human lands. Quinn's singing being one of the biggest indicators and fears talked about in the stories of The Bedtime Killer.

  • Siren's Song: Quinn's songs and harmonizing can lure single individuals at a time, lowering their guard and drawing them towards her or putting them into a deep peaceful slumber. The older the target, the greater able the target can resist if they are aware of the spell.

While he radiates masculinity and power, he does display more delicate and subtle traits too. He, despite what first appearances may hold, isn't really big headed or snobbish - he often acts out of charity or to help people out. He is respecting of women as he wants women to love him for who he is. So far, he has not found a woman that he finds attractive, as he prefers beauty of the mind and soul over the beauty of the body (not that he would refuse a beautiful woman, of course). He does flatter and flirt a lot, yes, but it doesn't tend to be very serious. He is also surprisingly intellectual and while he couldn't rub shoulders with the smartest and wisest of mages, he knows how to open a book and interpret its meaning - no matter how complex. In any case, he could probably convince someone to help him anyhow.

In short, a surprisingly pleasant man.

Backstory: Zafiro was born under fortunate circumstances. He was born to a wealthy and successful family, with all the amenities that a king would enjoy. While his mother died due to sickness while Zafiro was very young, he was fortunate enough to be so young as to not remember any of it. Despite his father's grief, he worked diligently to take care of his son with the wealth he had built up from his years of magical research and thaumaturgy advances. While his father was a master in his field, however, in his older years he could not explore as many places as he could and as a result his latter theories could not be proven, or he himself could not disprove them while others could. As a result, he became known across the field as a doddering old fool who was losing it in his latter years. With one final sigh, Zafiro's father hung up his hat as his latest theory of the origins of elemental magic was simply labelled as 'a lunatic's ramblings'.

This upset Zafiro, as he knew that he was still as sane as any other man his age. Therefore, one night, he took his father's sword, a small portion of wealth and his father's latest research notes and left a note saying that he will prove everyone wrong for him. Within just a few years, his research was already proving to be accurate as he managed to track down what the ancient books referred to as 'the embodiment of water magic' - a beautiful water Primordial named Deja. Zafiro found the water woman fascinating, but not as fascinating as the water woman found him - she had never seen a human male before. The pair got to talking, first starting off with confirmation of theories and other more academic questioning, but soon got into more...private conversation. Zafiro soon worked out what Deja wanted and politely shut her down, simply stating that 'it could never work between a human and a Primordial'. Deja agreed, to which Zafiro felt guilty, but as he left she gave him one last gift - the gift of water mastery.

Now, with his father's name clear once again, he journeys to find the other three Primordials to...well, he hasn't figured it out yet. He is, however, enjoying some time off...at least, that's what he intended. Who knows what will really happen!

PHYSICAL
Weapons & Armor: Under his illustrious uniform he wears a special mail made from the scales of a quicksilver dragon. Not only do the scales look beautiful in the light, further amplifying his own beauty, the armour provides Zafiro with a comfortable, unrestricting suit of average defense with a nice bonus that is helps provide resistance against magic in general - useful when you want to get close to the mage of the group to stop them attacking everyone. However, the armour itself also cannot be enchanted or magically buffed in any way.

He also owns a beautiful sword, brutish in nature yet elegant and intricate in its own way, named the Eversword. Originally his father's, the sword was rune enchanted, which glow green in combat, to be completely unfazed by any sort of magic that could alter it, like telekinesis, heat metal, magnetism or anything like that while also being indestructible. The blade itself is made from a very rare steel made from meteoric iron, giving it a strange sheen like no other sword has, with the hilt itself being made of an otherworldly astral silver, used by beings from the Astral Plane such as githyanki and so on. The sword itself, including the enchantment, is easily worth a good 50,000-100,000 gold pieces from a collector's point of view. Zafiro believes it to be so beautiful that no scabbard in the world could match its beauty and as a result he usually keeps it on display on his belt - which he has no worries about as it glows green and makes even the most adept of thieves clumsy as sh*t if they touch it (the effect of which is provided by the githyanki silver hilt).


Items & Personal Belongings: He owns several coin pouches, more likely to be filled with gold or even platinum pieces than coppers or silvers - heck, he even has a pouch dedicated to gemstones as they are a way of carrying hundreds of gold pieces worth easily. He is rich, in other words. However, he also owns a tatty old journal, of his dad, that contains odd ramblings about theories of magic and the like, and is often seen with books cross checking the information from it. Of course, he also owns the standard backpack of adventurers.

Skills & Abilities: He is fairly adept at swordplay, not at a master level but definitely better than the average bandit, but his real skill is in charisma - it's how he makes so much money these days. He is an expert in the fields of barter, talking to women (and men if he really has to) and can adapt his own personality to suit another's to make quick friends. He also knows everything there needs to be known about water magic, even if he cannot apply the knowledge himself.

Spells & Magic: Zafiro has basic elemental manipulation (as of writing this, he has just water) and as a result can control it, produce it and even reflect it in an area around him. He cannot change the properties of the element (at least, not at the time of writing this) but can manipulate it as he pleases.

Weaknesses: He can sometimes underestimate foes a bit and is somewhat weakened if the foe is a man. I think you can work out why.

Cealia: An arrogant and prideful women. Caelia hates the idea of being aided by anything outside of other dragons. And along with this constantly quarrels with the other personalities claiming to be the best of all of them. Avarisa has red pupils when Caelia is in control
Nyx: An inhumanely cruel personality. Even those who assist Avarisa are only seen as food or piles of pus to Nyx. And is the one to drag Avarisa into combat. She has openly expressed the urge to kill the other personalities. Verde in particular. Avarisas eyes are pure black when Nyx is in control.
Weiss: The strategic one of the five. It is argued her and Azure are the ones who hold the five together. Weiss is never one to rush into a fight. She has respect for those who fight with her. However she seems to have a small issue of playing dirty. Claiming victory is a worthy cause no matter the price. Avarisas eyes have grey pupils when Weiss is in control
Esolke: The wisest of the five and the obvious mediator. If Esolke is awake and in charge most people claim her to be almost like an old officer of an army. She knows how to break up fights and even keep the others in check. And has even shown to be Avarisa's most influential. With Avarisa conversing with Esolke whenever Esolke is awake. Avarisas pupils are Blue whenever Esolke is in control.

Bio: Very little is known about Avarisa. The few things that are known are that she is Nagas sister and that both her and Naga do not originate from the world that Rivianna lies in. Avarisa unlike her sister knows the answer but she refuses to tell for the sake of the Draconians and her sister. Even giving the Half Dragons the name Draconians. She is now a wanderer trying to find a place to call home and settle down. That or piece her past together

Poison cloud: Avarisa can spew poison from her mouth. If not deadly she can use it as a way to limit vision.
Lightning bolt: A self explanatory spell as Avarisa only need point and will the energy to surge forward

Shadows are stronger the more evil that was in the soul before it was taken. Shadows retain memories of the past, but despise all of it like it was all a bad dream, and lose almost all sense of morality and honour. Old Shadows often learn the ability to move using shadows and darkness, and some can even absorb the magical energy from others. They crave powerful magical energy, and will not stop until they have absorbed it to make themselves stronger.

Backstory: Nearly four hundred years ago a powerful fire mage by the name of Dillon lived. He was wise, kind with a fun sense of humour and wit, and often assisted others with whatever he could. Not only would he use his powers to create fires in hearths in winter or calm wildfires that threatened forests, but he used his abilities to defend villages from a myriad of evil creatures. His red cape was a sight for all sore eyes.

However one day, a bandit raid took something of great importance to him away from him...his wife's life. Blinded by fury and rage, he tried to take them all down. He was not able to, and was forced to flee. He tried again, but again to no avail. His options running thin, he gave himself one final attempt to avenge his lover's soul - he made a pact with a demon. Although a weaker demon than he would've liked, it upheld it's side of the bargain. Using temporary powers given by the demon, Dillon incinerated the bandits with huge meteors from the sky - a feat never seen before by many.

However, when it came to collecting the debt, the demon struggled. Dillon was far more powerful than the demon anticipated, and taking the entire soul was virtually impossible. So, it didn't. It took most of it. It took all the good bits.

At first, the changes were subtle. Dillon got more annoyed at passing strangers, and felt less inclined to help where he was needed. One thing was more noticeable, however, even to him. The stench from his body. Without an entire soul, the body was rotting away with time. Soon, all was left was his cloak, now tinted black with evil, with his black shadow of a soul remaining within it.

Now, all he wants is control and he will stop at nothing to get it. He has been foiled in the past, but he still lives and he is angrier than ever.

PHYSICAL
Weapons & Armor: None on both accounts.

Items & Personal Belongings: On his hat he owns several fire stones - they used to act as his magical focuses, but nowadays they are mainly for show. They are strong, and would probably fetch a good price to fire mages. He also owns a glove that was infused with the spell Mage Hand, but over the years as a shadow the glove became twisted. Now, it acts as a floating third hand for him, able to cast basic spells from it and do other general 'hand' things.

Skills & Abilities: Arcane knowledge, especially about fire and darkness. He has also learned how to pick up on goings on, from his years as a shadow. His cruelty and general appearance often make him intimidating, which he has also learned how to use to great effect.

Spells & Magic: As a once great fire mage, he is able to cast powerful fire spells with ease and knows a variety of other common spells such as Eldritch Blast or Magic Missile. However, that is down to his past more than his present. Ever since his 'transformation' he can absorb the magical essence from others and absorbing magic from powerful creatures can result in his own empowerment. Absorbing the magic from regular people or mages will do little more than recharge his own supply, but absorbing it from more powerful beings such as demons, angels or elemental spirits can result in more powerful attacks, more resilient defences and even, occasionally, new powers entirely. Being literally a shadow, made from dark energy, mundane weapons have no effect on him. He can also fade into the shadows, becoming invisible to sight, and travel by shadows - effectively, he turns into one and hitchhikes off of other shadows. Since he isn't technically an entire soul, most necromantic (and other soul related) spells don't work on him.

Weaknesses: Of course, divine/holy magic isn't exactly good for him and while mundane weapons have no effect, magical weapons or magic still affect him like normal. As a shadow form it is harder to hurt him, but at the same time he is repelled by light and can easily be cornered by such a thing. While he can absorb energy from powerful beings, it is usually temporary - unless he absorbs a really powerful being or two, it will eventually wear off. Another thing - due to the way he searches for energies, if he discovers a being of massive magical potential while he can create a bond to help track them, they will suffer from nightmares/become inexplicably scared if he gets close.

Bio: Doomsday was a peasant boy back in the days. He has been beaten and ended up with a sore leg. He eventually was unable to walk for the past seven weeks. He kept under a tree which is his hiding spot from the village scums. He eventually met a man in the same position as him. His name was Doomsday. He asked why he isn't a soldier. And his response was "I am weak". The young doomsday and the other doomsday slowly get to know each other by day and day. The young doomsday's real name was "Luis". Luis at some point held a shovel so long as he kept staring at his unfazed smile. His corpse was hanging from the pole. It was horrifying. So he headed back home and dug him into the earth. Where he can never reach the surface.

Five years later, Luis went under the guise of Areon Doomsday. He wants to accomplish his dream and make the name spread around town. In becoming a soldier, he greatly rose his position in becoming a knight captain when he turned 25.

After defeating a terrifying sorcerer, he no longer holds his position. He retired at some point, hiding his reasons behind his agreement. Since then he also no longer fought over two years. He apparently lives in a castle of his dreams. A peaceful life.

Weapons & Armor:
  • Doomsday's sword (current): Found in a chest of the former house owner, never knows its functions despite knowing it's a powerful and legendary weapon. His sword has its own magic properties stored within the hilt. With concentration, the tip of the blade is able to rip space apart, used to trap or transport himself into a pocket dimension, a place where one can live for all eternity without aging or drop of thirst and hunger. Some unexplored functions can be possibly explored by the user.

  • Wyvern Whistle: With this device allows the user to summon a tamed wyvern. The wyvern must be properly tamed in order to be summoned. If one may die, Doomsday had to tame another wyvern.
  • Talking Orb (or whatever you call it): With this device allows the user to communicate a network from far distances using magic to fuel the sphere. Both hands must be pressed onto the orb to function, either way, one hand may reach a short distance, and it must require another orb for his communicators. (Already have two, there is one at his house just in case)
  • Water: Doomsday usually carries a sack containing water for his travels.

Skills & Abilities:
  • House Husband: Doomsday's talents are doing the house chores; cleaning the house, cleaning windows, and such. Since he left his position as a general he has very good cooking skills who is able to bake cookies and make tarts that are so delicious to the human tongue.
  • Swordsmanship: As a former knight, Doomsday mastered swordsmanship for twenty years.
  • Charm: As a former knight captain, he has charm in companionship and is able to bring a collapsed army to its former state.
  • Language: Doomsday is able to read and speak almost any language.
  • Strength: Doomsday's strength is at the peak of the human race. He is able to hold a log and a giant rock with ease. No heavier than a dragon. This only applies when he's been greatly provoked.
  • Gardener: Doomsday went to a gardening school to learn how to grow vegetables and plants to raise his skill as a servant. Some additional skills are learned as part of the garden.

  • Aura shield medium: a low-tier magic spell to allow the user to create a fragile barrier to medium to powerful attacks. It is strong enough to shield the user from a strong force or an aftermath of an impact.
  • Double Mirror: a mid-tier magic spell to allow the user to produce a doppelganger of himself. The clone may last for a whole day or after a decisive blow by the enemy. In the process, it may vanish without a trace.

He gets mad if his house is greatly ruined and destroyed. Though he is immune to high pressure but weak against annoying pests that disturbs his peace. Bio: Doomsday was a peasant boy back in the days. He has been beaten and ended up with a sore leg. He eventually was unable to walk for the past seven weeks. He kept under a tree which is his hiding spot from the village scums. He eventually met a man in the same position as him. His name was Doomsday. He asked why he isn't a soldier. And his response was "I am weak". The young doomsday and the other doomsday slowly get to know each other by day and day. The young doomsday's real name was "Luis". Luis at some point held a shovel so long as he kept staring at his unfazed smile. His corpse was hanging from the pole. It was horrifying. So he headed back home and dug him into the earth. Where he can never reach the surface.

Five years later, Luis went under the guise of Areon Doomsday. He wants to accomplish his dream and make the name spread around town. In becoming a soldier, he greatly rose his position in becoming a knight captain when he turned 25.

After defeating a terrifying sorcerer, he no longer holds his position. He retired at some point, hiding his reasons behind his agreement. Since then he also no longer fought over two years. He apparently lives in a castle of his dreams. A peaceful life.

Weapons & Armor:
  • Doomsday's sword (current): Found in a chest of the former house owner, never knows its functions despite knowing it's a powerful and legendary weapon. His sword has its own magic stored within the hilt. Due concentration the tip of the blade is able to rip space apart, used to transport himself to many known locations. When it comes intact with an object or a living thing it transports them to a random location. (it is also possible to transport them inside a pocket dimension, a place where magic is defied) Some unexplored functions can be possibly explored by the user.

  • Saint Paul's Chains: This spell enables Jay to bind his opponent with glowing golden chains. Although they can be broken, the chains are still extremely strong.
  • Shroud of Turin: This power allows Jay to summon a large, magical shroud, that serves as an impenetrable shield/wall. The more damage that it takes, the more it strains Jay to keep it up. When he is exhausted, he cannot summon the shield.
  • Saint Sebastian's Arrows: This spell allows Jay to summon a storm of flaming golden arrows. This is one of Jay's strongest attacks, so it exhausts him quickly.
  • Healing Hands of Saint Blaise: This power allows him to heal wounds both severe and light on other people BUT NOT HIMSELF. All it requires is for Jay to use his 'heal-y hands' on said wound.

Nope. I don't know how anyone has managed to do it, but the race ALONE makes it far too OP for this RP. We're not using gods here, and technology isn't advanced enough to be considered Sci Fi
