Hey guys, me and @Veelen are wanting to do a folklore based fantasy/historical RP/hosted project and just wanted to know if people would be interested in this?
It'd be a mix of folklore from across the globe, which we have and are dedicating a crap ton of time researching it as we plan on it being a pretty big project, with extensive self made lore for that purpose, we plan on creating our own map and history for this too and don't mind taking suggestions whilst we’re still in this stage of development
Basically we don't want this to fizzle out so we’re looking for longterm commitments and at the very least one paragraph per post but we’re not going to go crazy about grammar and stuff just as long as it's readable it's all good.
You'd be playing as a Mage from either of the fractions (Aestiva or Obscurum), we plan on accepting probably 4 of each fraction, we have more detailed lore for both factions but that’ll get posted when we have interest.
There are a rare few across the entire globe that are born under the right circumstance and are ‘blessed’ by one of the gods. If you’re lucky then you’ll be blessed by the God of Light, born with abilities of great magic, with great gifts in restoration, often aiding fertility problems, Minor diseases and injuries, blessings for harvest and protection for children and travellers, those born with Light Magic are known as Aestiva. They are generally well loved and accepted in society.
Those born under the God of Darkness, known as Obscurum are not so fortunate, they are seen as dangerous, even when trained. They take their mana from nature and living creatures before themselves, untrained Obscurum can be deadly to their surroundings with accidental magic. However Obscurum will still help people although more with love spells, revenge curses, dealing with creatures, magically charged artifacts. Obscurum have more options however in specialisation.
Basically the gods refuse the offerings at the harvest and everything starts going downhill, crops are dying off overnight, cattle vanishing and reappearing mutilated, plagues...etc. Those born with Magic are summoned to a council and told they need to fix it, seeing as they are closest with the Gods. And it would go from there.
