Realistic or Modern The Best Years In Grandview High

Aaron Harper

VyXjIhL.jpg

"Oh. Well....alright. It looked for a minute like you were about to get jumped." Aaron gave her a small smile. Like he was some kind of knight in shining armor.

"Umm...if you're heading toward the kitchen, I'm going there too. I need another drink too and my buddy who came with me is nowhere to be found. I don't have any other friends here so I think I need to be drunk to deal with...all of this. Actually, I don't really have a lot of friends at all but...you know...I'm working on that." Aaron was babbling on, as he usually did when he was nervous, while his face tinted red with slight embarrassment. He had never met Sora before and only knew who she was because he had asked someone who had a class with her. Aaron was bound to notice a new student, especially when she ended up being a cute Asian girl. Also, he had no clue how to talk to girls. At all.

"Uhh...I'm not really sure what wheat tea is but if you find something stronger, you should definitely have at it. Or we can share. I mean, if you want to, of course. Sorry....am I bothering you?"
He had definitely noticed her hesitation when he had approached her and he felt like he was making a fool of himself. Maybe I should just shut up and go the kitchen on my own. His friend might be out on the patio smoking a joint without him like a jackass. That's what Aaron really needed....some good herb.

Soso wasn't just infuriated, she was irked. Holly's movements, expressions, the tone in her voice. Just everything about her made her angrier, and when she threatened to leave, Soso felt relief. Though, Soso wanted to be alone, she didn't actually want to be. She stood there, contemplating: should she follow or should she stay? Both were questionable actions. "Ugh.. fuck," she rubbed her temples, looking around for someone to hang out with, but low and behold, she was damned with the only person at the party who actually kind of wanted to hang. Soso rolled her eyes at herself, immediately regretting her decision as she tried to catch up to Holly. "Wait up," Soso demanded as she walked a bit faster. This better be worth it. Soso made her way past several people, shoving them aside, determination on her face.

Hog felt her eyes on him, but it never bothered him. She wasn't checking him out or judging, Kiara just seemed to have been observing. When she spoke about a promise, he nodded. This place seemed special to her and he wasn't going to ruin things for her; she was, after all, a potential not-so-shitty friend. "Yeah.. I'll keep it a secret. Trust me," Hog, for a short moment, got lost in his thought; his facial expression becoming plain as he stared off. Only when she spoke again, Hog snapped back, "sounds good. It's better than being alone or with people who don't want to-- ahem." He stopped himself from rambling, nodding along as she gave him an interesting factoid about this place. It was nice to be one of the few people to encounter such a place. It was refreshing. "I think you chose the right person, then. Makes me feel special," he laughed, looking back up at the stars. There was another silence, but it was broken once again by her soft mumbling. Hog couldn't quite understand what she had said, but decided to let it slide. He did the same thing anyways. But, here's the difference, Kiara actually asked about what he'd said. He had to think of a reply fast, something that wouldn't make her feel awkward, "I.. uh. I said I was hungry?" After he'd spoken, Hog looked away, facepalming as he questioned his own answer. Was that really the best he could have thought of?

Sora looked at Aaron, then shook her head. "No...y...you're not bothering me. And when I say wheat tea, I am talking about beer...it's too weak. I usually drink harder vodka." She looks away. "And I'm going home...I...I'm not really enjoying this party. I still don't know why I was invited...I've barely been here a few days, if that..."

Kiara grinned widely, nodding at his answer as she sighed in relief. Looking up at the stars, she felt as if she could almost touch them as she reached a hand to the sky. "Connect the stars." She told Hog, as she looked around, seeing if there was anything she can connect together. "I see. . . a rabbit, perhaps?" She asked, tilting her head slightly to the side, glad that there wasn't any ant piles around her or Hog. She was grateful for Hog's honesty and even much more so when he said he felt special. Giggling slight, Kiara nodded her head, "Of course, you're special." She said, not realizing she said it before it was too late, "I mean. . ." she tried explaining herself as she hurried to say something, "everyone's special. But, like. . . I see you as someone who's going to be a good friend. . at least to me." She coughed nervously, figetting with her hand as she tried to change topics quickly. However, hearing Hog's response to what she couldn't hear was different than she thought. Blinking she laughed loudly, not believing that he said he was hungry, "Did you drink? Having the late night munchies? What are you craving?" She said as she sat up and looked over at him. "We can always go and get something! Or, I have a friend who's really an amazing cook. If she's up, I can ask her. Or." She thought as she contemplated, "I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich?" Kiara smiled, feeling quite proud.

He rose a brow at her statement. A rabbit? All he could see were a few stars that were just clumped together. "I see stars, that's all, really," he spoke up, trying to envision something. Nada. Maybe all his creativity only existed when there was music. He began to ponder, furrowing his brows as he thought some more. This interaction was nice, no crazy shit that would get in the way of his thoughts. No negativity. Hog looked at Kiara when she spoke again, talking about how he was special. It was nice, since not many people would have ever even said that about him in the first place. He smiled at her rambling explanation and nodded in agreement, "well, you're not wrong about that." Their conversation carried on, the excitable pair already close as if they'd been friends for a while. "You make a 'mean' grilled cheese, eh? I, uh, think I'd have to be the judge of that," he inhaled deeply, sitting up as he continued to speak, "I could go for a grilled cheese, anyways."

Aydin:

Aydin finished his drink and went back inside to the kitchen. There were a few choices available for a drink, He grabbed a can of beer from the fridge and popped it open before taking a drink. He had spent longer outside than he thought. Sighing to himself he finished his beer quickly deciding to head home instead of hanging around. It had been at Kiara's insistence that he come to this party anyway. Typing out a quick text he sent it off to Kiara explaining that he was going to head home for the night.

Thankfully he did not live too far away so he could walk the distance. He had been receiving texts from an unknown number claiming that it was someone at school who had a crush on him, the texter claimed that they could not come forward because 1) he was a guy, 2) he was too nervous. Shaking his head Aydin sighed, he was curious, flattered and a little scared at the prospect of someone finding out about his Sexuality, hell even Kiara did not know and she was one of Aydin's closest friends.

Unlocking his door, he stumbled inside and went straight to bed before passing out from a mix of alcohol and tiredness.

Devin sighed, as he walked into the large yet rather old school. A Electric Vapor (Cigarette) to his lips, as he looked toward his Worn Dr. Martens, for he wasn't dressed to impress anyone, The boy sighed as he ran a hand through his long black hair, eying his Tattoos as he fixed his slouching school bag, looking back toward the doors, watching as Rain hit the clear glass, "Awh, today will be rather lovely.." He whispered to himself, a small smirk tugging at his lips, before he quietly turned to begin making his way down toward his locker, "D-122" Devin muttered to himself, making his way groggily through the halls, a cup of tea in his hands as he continued on walking.

Alice scrunched her nose, her pastel pink wig covered her innocent wide eyes, as she looked over the tiles, intently, her small rose colored lips clasped closed. As she looked up, yet again only briefly, for she had a task, and that task was was finding her locker. "F-133." The small girl whispered, as she looked up, Couldn't be to hard to find, The small girl grinned a bit to herself, as she adjusted her violin strap, fixing her lovely Dress cascaded behind her, brushing against her tight covered thighs as she swiftly cascaded through the halls, her Violin strapped protectively to her back, she wouldn't dare let another soul get near her beloved musical instrument,

Kai blinked his eyes, as he looked back up to see the school up ahead, "Almost there.." He whispered, a rather worn Acoustic Guitar swung lazily behind him as he fixed hissweater. His hair was currently Dreaded chewing his lower lip. The shy, Homeless hippie walked barefoot into the large school, his hands slightly dirty, due to the fact he had no actual home, and he picked coins off the ground, a lot. He sighed, as he looked back and fourth only briefly, "I must find a bathroom." Kai whispered to himself.

"Dude, I'm just saying that if we actually get the monkey.-" Ashton was quickly cut off by his dear friend,
Beau. "We are not doing it, Simply no, we'll end up in Prison." The boy said through his harsh Scottish accent, "Only if we get caught." Ashton grinned, chewing his lower lip. "I swear to god, you're retarded." Beau muttered as the two boys awkwardly entered the school, "We have but one goal, finding Cole and Kai." Beau smirked, "Sounds dandy!" Ashton exclaimed.

Annabelle pursed her lips, shyly as she closed her big round eyes, taking a rather deep breath fixing the Dress she wore that showed her simply gorgeous Tattoos showing rather boldly, as she looked at her dress, fixing the bag she wore, as she pulled out her folded schedule, looking over it, for her Locker number, before grinning only slightly, "B-138." She whispered, a bit as she watched the plain halls slowly fill, Chewing her lower lip, running a hand through her red hair.

Kiara Reign

Kiara kept her attention on him, her eyes gazing on him innocently as she took in his company. She was drawn to his hair, seeing the different hairstyle and personality that made him who he was. He seemed to be a rebel, perhaps, someone who she'd normally not see in the hallways or in the artist's home, then again, stereotypical cliques and whatnot never really bothered her. Kiara was the type to talk to whoever she wanted to, even if it was out of the social norms. So, even if Hogs wasn't in her same clique, it didn't deter her away from wanting to get to know the male. In fact, he was much more approachable than many people in the same clique as her anyways. Nevertheless, her gaze was still on his neon green mohawk that just screamed out, "forget all about the rules and stereotypes, I do what I want to do", but even so, Kiara felt like despite his rather rebellious and "trouble" look and vibe he gives off, like a "bad-ass", Kiara didn't judge him, not one bit. She found an adrenaline rush for breaking away from the "norm" and just doing whatever she wanted. No one was there to judge them, just him and her, talking as if they've been friends since day one. Kiara felt. . .free, in a sense.

Hearing Hog's response, she rolled her eyes playfully and shoved against him.
"That's because you're not imagining it!" She said, deliberately not saying "hog", despite it being his nickname, she felt it was weird to call him by such a name. However, she was more than pleased to know that Hog had accepted her compliment about him being special . . although it made her nervous and blush madly for ever saying those words. She didn't know what caused her to say those things, but it felt. . right. "Hog. . when I find something creative and something that fits you, you're getting another nickname from me. Just sayin' , okay? No ands and buts. Referring to a new and potential friend as some sort of 'pig' makes me think of the those pink and muddy animals. And my, good, sir, you're far from. . well. . pink and muddy looking." She teased lightly, laughing at the image that popped into her head.

Grinning at Hog's acceptance of wanting to try her mean grilled cheese sandwich, Kiara gently got off the ground and patted her jeans and pants from the grass.
"You're on! Don't say I told you so. Once you take one bite, you'll never be able to stop!" She warned him, her eyes litting up. "But also . . don't say I poisoned you either." Kiara said playfully, grinning like a cheshire cat as she began to skip away from the field only to feel a vibration in her pocket. Looking at who it could be that texted her, she gasped softly, reading the name: Aydin. Frowning slightly as she read the message, Kiara hadn't know he had decided to come to the party, if he had, she would have came straight to him and not make him feel a lonely and she wouldn't have been a lost puppy. Then again . . if she wasn't lost she wouldn't have met Hog. But. . she did just take away the girl she bumped into's friend away for night. Walking back over to Hog, Kiara titled her head, "Hey, Hogs?" She asked him, looking in his eyes, "Do you want to check up on your friend as well? Perhaps she's cooled down?" Kiara wondered, if she could get Aydin to wake up or not but nevertheless, wanted to know if Hog wanted to bring his partner with him, seeing that they looked like a couple or so.

"It seemed my friend Aydin was there at the party, but I didn't hear my phone going off from the noise and he's gone straight to bed after drinking so much. I feel horrible for not knowing he was there." She sighed softly, taking a deep breathe, until a light bulb hit her. "How about. . if you want, and if she , your friend wants, we can go and not only make some grilled cheese but bake some sweets? Aydin likes sweets, if I remember correctly!" She grinned widely, her slight upset expression fading away as she tugged on Hog's arm, "How about it? Would that make up for me being a bad friend and leaving Aydin stranded at that forsaken party?" Hoping it was okay with Hog, and waiting for his reply, Kiara sent Aydin a quick text.

Sighing to herself, she hopped her spam may have been heard by Aydin, but knowing how much he drank, he would have probably been knocked out before he could see it. But, nevertheless, she was determined to make it up to him, even though she knew he was a forgiving person, but still . . . she would never take advantage of him in such a way. She cared for him, even if he had secrets of his own, it was always fun to talk to him. Even without words, they were there for each other, and this time, she'd be there for him, since it seemed the only time he'd drink that much, is if something was wrong. But, hopefully. . . nothing was. As she finished her message, Kiara looked up back at Hogs, taking a deep breathe, hoping Hog would still hang out with her despite the small little scared outburst and ramblings she had done. But. . there it was. . the continuous rapid quickening of her heart.

Aydin
me
Aydin! Omg. I'm so so so sorry! I didn't hear my phone ring from all of the noise!
me
You're home now?
me
If I had known we could have hung out together! I didn't expect you to have gone to the party!
me
Don't be mad at me, please?
me
I'll make up for it, promise. And you know I don't break it!
me
Sweet dreams, Aydin. Text me when you're up?

Aydin:

Aydin groaned as he heard his phone buzz. He opened his eyes blearily and looked at his phone before giving a snort and sending back a quick reply to say it was ok.

Getting up, he scratched his head and made his way down the stairs, Pouring out a glass of water he swallowed 2 pain killers with a mouthful of water before groaning and heading to get ready.

He had not even realized that he had slept through the night.

After showering and getting dressed he sent a quick text out to Kiara about getting breakfast. His stomach growled at the thought of food but he also wanted to speak with her about the texts he had been receiving, they were flattering but he had no idea who the guy was that was texting him. Kiara was the only other person who knew about his sexuality and until school was over it would remain that way unless something changed.

I'm surprised she's sticking around - I'll enjoy it while it lasts...

Why was she really sticking around? Did she genuinely enjoy the company? Hog couldn't point anything out, especially since he wasn't the best at reading people given the complexity. But, even if he couldn't read her or knew exactly what was up, he felt at ease. In between his thoughts, he took short glances at her. Cute smile, dazzling eyes... What? No, she was just - Kiara seemed like the type that wouldn't want to be caught dead around him, judging by looks that is. He shook himself away from his thoughts and cleared his throat, "haha... I guess not." It wasn't a guess, Kiara was completely right. He wasn't seeing anything but a bundle of stars formed together. Hog couldn't even put a finger on it, but he just knew that the lack of imagination was the lack of inspiration.. It wasn't there, not like it used to be.

When she mentioned the name change, he rose a brow; Hog liked his nickname, there weren't many with it and he enjoyed it. To differ from other people and to have a name that would stick was something special, but if she did want something different because of how he didn't fit the description, then so be it. "Yeah? Well, obviously you've never seen me when I'm uber drunk - I do, in fact, get pink and muddy," Hog replied with a slight chuckle, running his hands on the sides of his head, feeling the short hair on his head. As their conversation continued, he simply nodded and shrugged, listening as she continued on about the friends they had left at the party. "Hm?" He had to think about it for a while, then it hit him, he'd forgotten about So-Ra and her hot-headed mess, "oh.. Shit! Uh.. I don't know. She might be hookin' up with someone already. Anger does that."

Hog scratched the back of his head, contemplating on what to do. "I guess I can try to find her while you go and find your friend.. Under one condition," he held a finger up, "we get to hang out more even after this party shitstorm." The young man was unsure of what her reply would be, if she would even want to or not. But, time could only tell and he could only hope that she'd agree.

Location: Secret Meadow > The House | Time: 2AM - 5AM | Scenario: Promises & Breakfast

With: Hogs @The Dragon Rider

Mentions: Eva and Dean @JaneXJeff

Kiara hadn't realize how nervous she was when she felt her hands becoming clammy as she heard the beating of her heart echoing through her ear. She didn't want him to think she was ditching him, in fact, if they all hung out together, it would be more than fun. However, seeing that Hog's best friend sort of maybe has a hit list on her for making her day worse and Aydin can sometimes be a little closed off, depending on his mood. But, that didn't mean she wouldn't try to have a small get together with them. Perhaps Eva and Dean would want to join as well. Before she knew it, she was lost in thought once more as she began to take notice of Hog more and more. It wasn't as if she hated his name, but she just felt a little troubled calling him Hogs , but then again, it may be because she isn't fond of pigs since. . . well, at a young age, she fell into a mud pile, tripping into their food bowl, and they ended up eating right off of her. At the same time, the pigs ended up chasing her out of their little field for entering, despite the fact, she wanted to be friends with them cause she adored the color pink and thought their piglets were cute. Who knew they could be so protective of their young ones? Then again, she was too young to comprehend that.

Moving on from those thoughts, Kiara ended up feeling another vibration in her pocket when she looked at the message from Aydin. She felt a weight lift off of her. So, he wasn't mad at her, in fact, it seemed he was used to her forgetful memories and clumsiness that he didn't bother too much about it. However, it didn't change the fact that he drank much more than he usually had, seeing that he knocked out and wanted to get some breakfast. Quickly replying back so that Aydin wasn't waiting on her, she texted him:
"Come over to the house, I'll make some grilled cheese sandwiches, throw in some eggs and bacon, sounds good? Also, I want you to meet a friend later on, perhaps when school starts!" As Kiara texted him, while Hogs was distracted, she couldn't keep the smile off of her face as she hinted at Aydin meeting Hogs. The only thing she could hope was that they get along, then again, she didn't have any doubts about it. Sure he could be a tad quiet at times and only spoke to mostly her, which she didn't mind one bit, she just hoped he'd be comfortable with more people as well, besides her and his teammates. Aydin was considered a jock due to his love for soccer and sports and being on the team at school. Even though he was a bit quiet, the girls absolutely loved him, even if he never battered an eye lash at them. She believed girls have a thing for mysterious quiet types, but sadly, none of the girls were his type, at all, since well, he preferred men. But, that's a secret and Kiara will never break that trust or boundaries, considering, she's quite a secret keeper and will hold onto that secret until she dies.

Hearing Hogs clear his throat, Kiara had already placed her phone back into her pocket as she turned to look at Hogs, giving him her full attention. Laughing slightly, she nodded,
"It's alright, I'm not much of logical thinker, since I focus on the creativity aspect, so, perhaps, you are like that too? If you're not as imaginative , then perhaps you think on facts and stuff?" She said outloud, wondering what type of thinker Hogs was. But, soon enough, when Hogs mentioned why he had the name and further explained it, Kiara shook her head, "Do you get drunk easily? Or are you a hard drinker?" She asked, cuirously, not sure when it was the last time she had alcohol in her system. Shaking her head as Hog said he does get muddy and pink when he's drunk, Kiara smiled, "I think everyone gets pink when they drink, so it's a normal thing. Does pink look good on you? Maybe I'll see it one day?" However, at the mention of So-Ra, she believed her name to be, might have been hooking up with someone to let off some steam, Kiara tilted her head wondering if it was an often occurence for her to do that. Kiara actually. . . never hooked up with someone before, or rather, been in such an intimate relationship with the opposite sex. She just didn't find the right person yet. But, seeing Hogs raise up his hand, towards her, Kiara was curious what his condition was since it seemed they were going to find their friends first before he had something to say. Kiara nodded, tilting her head, "Yes?" She asked, as Hogs responded at what he was getting at. Hearing Hogs wanting to hang out more after tonight, or rather this early morning because of this shit party, Kiara's eyes lit up, grinning widely as she nodded her head excitedly, "Yes! We definitely need to hang out more after this night, since well . . I enjoy your company, a whole lot. Honestly, plus, it's a nice change and refreshing." She said genuinely, admitting that he liked his company. However, at realization of her honesty, Kiara blushed slightly before looking in her bag for a pen. Rummaging through it, she took it out and gently took Hog's hand and wrote down her phone number. As she finished writing it down, she gently let go of his hand and looked up at him. Smiling softly, "Text or call me when you'd like to hang out?"
