"Alright, I've got the other car. Anyone want to take the third, as a backup?"


James hopped up into the one car that he'd filled, and got its key out of his webbing, ready. If the hostile guy was driving the other truck, Kendrick would have to drive the third car if they were taking it, so they'd be spread out, and a single crash would have as little severity as possible. Then again, it would use more fuel, and James could fix the cars anyway.


"And yeah, I've got plenty stocked up. You need one?"

".. I was wondering--.. I know that there's not much to do around here, but--.." He pulled away from her and bowed his head at the ground. ".. If I can find a place--.. Somewhere to hang out, you know--.." He gulped and clenched his hands together in front of him. ".. Would you--.." He sighed. ".. Would you go out with me?" He blurted out, he gave a disappointed sigh and looked away. He was more disappointed with himself - he didn't know why he found it so hard to say it, and that's what he'd upset himself with. He probably made himself look like an idiot. (@Soul OMU)
 
Tom grabs Scarlet and holds her, "She is not in the way. Look. I will never stop loving Jane, or my daughter. Just like you will never stop loving your husband, or your daughter.... But that doesn't mean I can't love you, because I love Eric and Carl. Im not saying I love you right now, I barely know you Scarlet, but I want to get to know you, to start a new life with you..."
 
He laughed in surprise. That went better than he expected. He hugged her tight again and smiled. ".. It's a date." He chuckled before pulling away again and lying down on his bed. ".. It'll be nice to get out and unwind, you know?" He said. One thing he didn't realize was that Carl was eavesdropping. Oh, the gossip. (@Soul OMU)
 
Scarlet says nothing as tightly grips the floor under her, not looking at him. "But I would never mix the two up.. And what if we're not right at all and this is a horrible idea?" She said still trying to find a way out because she's scared of loving and losing again.


Jenna smiles a bit and giggles a bit into her hand. "Of course, anyways so show me around your room?" She said while grinning. (@DrTrollinski, @DrCompton)
 
He frowned a little, "I already told you why I mixed the two up, today was the first time I felt like a normal family, with a wife, and a kid... To me, thats still Jane and Carol. But I know I can't have that again, and I want to start a new life, with you, Carl, and Eric." Tom leaned forward and put his arm around her, " And what if we're right? And we're both happy fort he first time in months? Huh? I know you're scared, shit I am. Im scared every day that I'll lose Carl or Eric... Im already scared that something may happen to you? Why do you think I keep trying to get you and Jenna in the same house as me and the boys? Scarlet nothing is ever a sure bet, certainly not in the fucked up world we're in now, but this is a bet Im willing to make.. But... I cant make it without you."
 
As soon as Carl heard that they were going on a date he jumped in excitement and instantly ran out of the house. He knew Tom and Scarlet were next door so he shot over to the house next door and started hunting around. He ran upstairs and ran into the room they were in with a huge grin on his face. "Daddy! Scarlet! Eric and Jenna at goin' on a date!" He yelled in excitement. (@Soul OMU, @DrCompton)
 
Tom looked at Scarlet, then over at Carl and stood "Oh yeah? Lucky them huh?" He looked back at Scarlet, "Come on Red, Lets go bug your niece and my son." He offered her a hand, "Its better than sitting in here feeling sorry for ourselves huh?"
 
"It doesn't matter." Carl smiled and then hugged her. "You can't stay here alone. We'll all come back and clean it together, but you should come home with me and daddy to see Eric." He snuggled up to her and sighed. "I'm sorry for running away from you, Scarlet..." He sighed. (@Soul OMU, @DrCompton)
 
Scarlet takes a deep breath and hugs him back. "...it's okay Carl... And really... I won't be too long. I promise." She said as she pulled back and moved towards the broken mirror to pick up the pieces.
 
Tom picked Carl up and started to walk out, "Just.. Come over when you want Red." He walked out with Carl and back to the other house, setting Carl down on the porch. He sighed as they walked in, "Lets get back to cleaning Carl."
 
"We'll help her, daddy... I promise..." He smiled and hugged him while sitting in his arms. "Cause that's what family does, remember?" He smiled warmly and put his head down on Tom's shoulder. (@DrCompton)
 
Scarlet starts picking up the pieces of the mirror, sighing softly as she does. "...I wish I knew what to do..." She said softly as she put the pieces in the garbage and ran a hand through her hair before sighing and goes to take a shower before redressing and heading over. (@DrTrollinski, @DrCompton)
 
Tom looked at Scarlet when she came over and nodded. He wasn't sure how to act with her now. Carl and him and been vacuuming the upstairs, "Carl loves vacuuming, I think I have you to thank for that Red." He didn't smile after the joking comment, instead he went back to cleaning.
 
"Scarlet, you haven't seen our house yet! Do you want me to show you everything? If I show you, that means you and Jenna can stay cause Jenna can sleep with Eric." He grinned at her while vacuuming. Tom was holding his hands and guiding him seeing as the vacuum was heavy, but he was doing fine. (@Soul OMU, @DrCompton)
