Depends on how many are willing to fight for you. I'd imagine that someone like Gelsek wouldn't have too many people lining up to help him. Amareus would have his mythic heroes to help him out, I guess.
You can basically use anything or anyone for you army. If you wanna fight solo, that's fine.
