The Battlefront

As you breech the crest of a wide plateau the full majesty of the FableWood war camp comes into view. Everywhere preparations for battle are well underway. The thick smell of leather, hot iron and horses fills your nose as the brightly-coloured war tents rise to tower over you. Every manner of creature walks the passageways between the tents. From wolves and rams to unicorns, gryphons and dragons. Fawns polish their armour while centaurs duel in the sparring rings. Giants sharpen swords the size of small trees while rocs circle the skies above. Countless humans work too, for these creatures all are threatened by Caraboss and they will all fight to the death to protect their beloved world. As you move further into the camp one tent sets itself above the rest; a massive red thing, circular, with gold trim and the emblem of a book and sun painted on the door, and on a flag flying proudly in the wind. This is the war council room, where new recruits have been told to go to meet the leaders of the armies and obtain their instructions. FableWood welcomes you, brave warriors.

To look at the day, one would never have guessed that a dark army marched. You would need to close your eyes and imagine the seething forces that crawled their way to the Northern edge of the Far Plains for here, in the war camp of the good people of FableWood there was only bright sunlight and rowdy bustle. Everyone had a task and was busy fulfilling it, whether it was fetching more coal for the forge fires, piling leathers for weapon hilts, or weaving cloth for fresh bandages the entire camp worked as one to prepare for the coming battle.

A little ways out, beside the archery range a cool summer breeze played through the sweet grass and the flowers, making the grassland dance…and then a part of it erupted in flame.

Watch your aim!” Kallin called, switching his tall oak staff to the other gloved hand. His dark, misty visage and careful yellow eyes regarded his sparring partner critically.

Like I was actually going to have Spark hit you with a fireball.” Leia’s retort was bright and full of humor.

It’ll take a lot more than that little puff to hurt me.” Kallin shot back, “and I doubt Caraboss’ minions are going to give you a do-over.

Leia grinned and tried again, the fire spirit sprinted at her side, rushing forward on her mental command and rolling into a great wheel of fire. Kallin summoned an icy mist to meet it but it was not enough, he had to dive out of the way with a yell as the spirit barreled past him, leaving a path blackened daisies in its wake.

Good! You’re little wisp is getting stronger.” Kallin said from his new place in the grass. Spark uncoiled and snorted, a noise that sounded like a crackling fire, he had the general appearance of a ferret made entirely of flame. On the side of the training area Leia’s other three spirits, earth, water and air lounged peacefully in the sun.

They had been there for a few days now, waiting on the forces still trickling into the camp. In those few short days Kallin had seen every manner of creature. It certainly stretched his imagination.

He looked up and Leia was standing over him, offering him a hand. He took it and got to his feet, taking another look about the field to see if he could spot the others.

Inside the war council tent everything was painted in a stuffy, red light as the sun did its best to shine through the canopy. Brenna and Princess Briar were already present, staring grimly at the large map which was sprawled over the wide rings of the ancient oak tree table that dominated the furnishings of the space. Ward watched as one of the scouts repositioned the tiny figures that symbolized Caraboss’ army.

She’s broken up her forces here, likely to try and sent the lighter units through the marsh and hit us on a flank first, test our defences. We saw her coming though.” The scout said proudly.

The two women looked to the prince to see if he would recommend a course of action. He returned their gazes uncomfortably.

Flighted forces.” Brenna said after a short pause. “Take a platoon of archers on the great bats. Drive them to the worst parts of the swamp. The witch needs to know that there are no holes in our perimeter.

Ward’s shoulders relaxed visibly. His mother was the general, she was the strategist, the one with the experience, Ward? Ward was just trying not to look stupid. He was ill-suited to a crown, he thought.

Briar smiled at him sympathetically and at that point Ward would have given anything for her to give him an order. He wished only to be a simple ambassador again, taking instructions instead of handing them out.

As the scout saluted them and took her leave Ward played idly with the ring on his finger, thinking of the promise he had made to his love. He didn’t see the worried expressions pass between Brenna and Briar.

Ward,” his mother began gently, “I know you will be leaving soon and, well, Briar and I have discussed the matter of your protection.

Protection?” Ward's voice was soft but the question was apparent, he was genuinely puzzled.

A body guard.

He frowned slightly, “Since becoming a guardian for the humans I have dealt with almost everything FableWood can send forth. I do not need a guard…mother.” The word was still strange on his tongue, after a life of never knowing her it was still taking him time to adjust to the fact that he now had real parents.

Nevertheless, I’d like you to humour us, and take her with you.” At that point the horn outside the door sounded and they all looked up.

Ah, time to meet the newcomers to the camp.” Briar said, the tent flap parted and sunlight gleamed off the gold breastplate of her armour. Her beautiful red hair had been cut to a boyish bob to better fit in her helmet.

Too much fighting, Ward thought, Princess Briar would never have had to cut her hair if there was less of it…and for what seemed like the thousandth time that morning he wished for earlier days, and his heart ached for Elena.

The blistering heat of the sun was nothing Arianne was unfamiliar with. She had held many sermons despite her young age - it did not matter whether it was a hailstorm, a sunny weather or a downpour: her words would always find their way into the hearts of those in need. And there were a lot of those people indeed. These were dire times, times no people in FableWood should have seen. The pain and anguish was not something a world of magic and fantasy should experience - but the little girl knew that the world was not black and white. Ever since she joined forces with Prince Ward back few months ago she knew that everything happened with purpose - no matter how dark it was. The heart of humans knew no bounds but that was true for both good and evil. And evil indeed was what they faced now.

The Sister of Light led a small group of priests and friars behind her. It was quite a sight for the eleven years old girl to lead these holy people but all of them agreed that she should do it. The small wisps of light still circled around the head of Arianne, their soothing, happy aura encircled the girl and her followers. Her trusty staff served as a primary tool for combat - but it was also a stalwart companion whenever she needed to travel.

A heavy burden weighed the shoulders of the young girl - but she took this responsibility seriously. She knew not exactly where she got this tenacity from - from one of her allies, no doubt. But this meant that she needed to be the bringer of hope for everyone - even if she knew not exactly what that meant.

" My lady, look! " said one of the friars, raising his hand " The camp is right there! "

" Indeed, Latosius. " Arianne nodded with a smile " It seems they are waiting... and preparing. "

" War is imminent, my lady. " Latosius spoke with worry in his voice " The people of FableWood need guidance... your guidance. "

" Our guidance, Latosius. " Arianne smiled, looking at him " I may be a vessel attuned to the light but you - all of you - are honor-bound servants of the Gods. If we are to bring salvation and hope to the people... we must do it together. "

The older friar nodded, impressed by the wisdom of the young girl... as they finally entered the camp.

A bird in the blue sky captivated the attention of Arianne as they entered. She smiled as she looked up, thinking about Nyr. The dread raven who share her devotion to the moon was now far from here, searching for her kin in lands unknown. She wished her luck and missed her... but despite her longing desire to see her again she could do nothing. The darkness will not wait for them - and thus she can not wait either. If there was anything she could do to contribute to the war effort then she needed to act now.

The group of priests marched through the camp silently, eyes staring at them with hope and curiosity. Many whispered as they spotted the young girl serving as envoy but they said nothing aside from praising the Gods for their mercy. Arianne smiled as she pushed onward to the major camp site where everyone seemed to gather. Upon spotting the biggest of the war tents Arianne raised her staff, commanding her followers to halt. Immediately silence befell the small group of priests as the little girl stepped forward.

" Hail to you, good people of FableWood. " she spoke ardently with joy and warmness in her voice " We, the Faith of the First Moon, the order of light and hope have come to you to tell you: the light and the Gods are with us all. Together, we shall surely stand the tide of darkness... and vanquish it with faith, devotion and unbreakable will. "

She looked around with her warm smile, her wisps spreading out, playing with some people.

" Everyone who feels the need to experience God's grace is welcome to join our sermon later - for now the priests of the order shall seek out those who are willing to pray or have any illnesses they need to be treated. Light guide you all, my friends. "

With a nod she pointed at Latosius who ordered the small group to disperse, allowing the priests to join with the people in need. Arianne waited until the friar walked with her and approached the big tent. Spotting Briar and Ward she smiled and bowed.

" Your Majesties... " she said with a respectful tone " I am honored to be in your presence. It has been too long. I hope you all fare well. "

The sky had always been her home and haven. If ever trouble settled in her mind, she would take to the endless expanse of blue for comfort and reassurance. She had always thought she knew the heavens like the back of her hand, saw all there was to be seen in the few years she was free, but she couln't have been more wrong.

Weeks before, Ember had been summoned and was told of a change in her appointment among the Guardians of Princess Briar. To her dismay, she was to travel to a place known as the Whispering Isles where she would serve under the recently returned heir, His Majesty, Prince Ward. Her mood had been dampened at such news and not the thought of returning to her birth place could cheer the young firebird up.

She'd taken the flight alone with the stars as her guide home, leaving Her Highness and her people a few days before they did. With low spirits, she flew nights on end, streaking across the sky like a comet. However, any dismay or dissapointment that had weighed down her shoulders seemed to disappear, forgotten as the Whispering Isles came into view. A mass of beautiful islands suspended in the azure sky, bathed in the golden rays of the sun. It was then that she felt the thrum in her blood and realized just how excited she was to return home and start the next stage of her life.

Now Ember stood outside the tent flap into which only a few moments ago Her Highness had walked. As instructed, she waited without a word of complaint and with as much patience as she could muster. Silently she stood, observing all those who lurked around the tent with her striking, and notably suspicious, blue eyes. Her mind driven by utter boredom, wandered to the thought of the Prince who she was supposed to guard and protect just on the otherside of the red tent flap. She had yet to see him, but she could just barely catch a hanful of words uttered in a male... Strangely familiar voice. i wonder, what is he like?

Upon hearing voices approach the entrance of the tent, Ember quickly stepped away just as the tent flap was folded back. Though she was curious to peer into the darkness in search of the face she did not know of, another voice drew her attention. Her girl's and a young one at that.

At her momentary distraction, a group of what Ember assumed to be religious people had approached them. Mentally scolding herself for losing focus, she stood rigid at the side with one hand rested on the hilt of her rapier and a sharp eye on the head of the group. She didn't care if they were priests or if they were criminals. To Ember, none were to be trusted.

As the sun shone brightly through the few scattered clouds above, the clash of metal against metal and adrenaline-filled shouts could be heard ringing throughout the camp.

Beyond the archery range, animalistic grunts, snarls, and even roars could be heard amongst the clashing metal and ringing of fighting.

Walking down the middle of the various sparring rings was a werecat, standing on her hind legs and walking with one paw in the other behind her back. Her poise was one of confidence and demanding of respect, as her leathery armor hid most of her scarred and battle-hardened body. Her left ear was mostly gone, shredded remains all that were left as a reminder that it once was there. A jagged scar ran down her face, too, leaving a permanently intense neutral expression. Her eyes shot from side to side, as she occasionally paused to watch the sparring matches. At her side was her faithful second-in-command werewolf, his left foot replaced with that of a mechanical one that was in the shape and style of a werewolf's foot in wolf form, though it had the unique capability of becoming a human foot if he were to shift forms.

Pausing at one particular sparring match, which was between a werecoyote and a werefox, Luness critically eyed the two, who darted left and right, landing a few glancing blows here and there. The two had similar agility, though the werefox was more nimble and kept getting too close to the werecoyote for her to react in time.

Narrowing her eyes slightly, Luness then let out a short snarl before the two suddenly stopped their sparring and slowly stood up before facing Luness. The snarl was a simple signal to anyone she was watching for them to stop and listen. Advice from their general was nothing anyone wanted to miss and the punishment for not heeding her words was not ideal. While she wasn't cruel to those underneath her authority, Luness dealt out punishments as she saw fit in order to keep the werebeasts respectful and obedient. Being part animal meant listening wasn't typically anyone's forté here.

"You two need to watch your weaknesses. Make them your strengths," Luness said, as she nimbly bounded over the fence that made the sparring ring.

The werecoyote's eyes widened slightly, as she listened to Luness address her personally, "You cannot let the enemy gain an advantage over you simply because they're too close. Don't be afraid to bite them or even act feral in the moment. This is war. People will die. And you will too if you're not willing to do any and everything to defend those around and to defend yourself."

The werecoyote nodded with a slightly frantic expression, as the mention of death seemed to worry her. Problem was, nobody could fear death going into this war. Else, they could be the reason that those around them fall without aid.

Glancing to the werefox now, Luness added, "While you've had little difficulty fighting Aquarasia, you must be aware that there will be enemies out there more around your size and possibly even more nimble than you. Don't rely so heavily on your speed and agility. Don't always do the same thing over and over again. Trip up your enemy. Literally. Or maybe even have someone bigger than you throw you at the enemy. Teamwork is of essence here, too. Not just fighting on your own."

The sparring area for the werebeasts had quickly grown quiet, as those around Luness had paused to listen to her advice.

Once Luness finished speaking and nodded at the two before her, she turned on her heels and leapt back over the fencing to rejoin her second-in-command, Falarion. The werewolf towered over Luness, a staggering 6'8" when he was in his werewolf form and his muscle mass was considerably bigger in comparison. Much like the werecoyote, Luness had a tendency to rely more on her speed and agility as a werelynx, or werecat in general.

Nodding at her while those around them returned to their sparring, Falarion said in an even tone, "Nice speech there, Alpha. Luckily, most of these guys have, at least, some fighting experience as opposed to being fresh meat. I worry more for our herbivores, though. We do have a few werehorses and wererabbits. I'm not as concerned for the werehorses, as most have already agreed to letting others ride them into battle, which will give them added protection. But those wererabbits can only do so much and will definitely need extra defense with them."

Noting this, Luness remained stoic in her stance, as she stood still in the middle of the sparring. Slowly looking at those around her, Luness' right ear twitched at the mention of the wererabbits and she let out a small sigh in response. It would be difficult to defend such small creatures. They'd learned much in the month they'd been training here, but there was only so much they could do depending on who was attacking them.

"I'll see what I can do, Lieutenant. Perhaps we can keep them near the most agile of our warriors. They'd be the quickest ones to react in defense of the wererabbits."

Falarion gave Luness a curt nod and replied, "Roger. I'll get out the news of this update right away, Alpha."

As Falarion walked away, Luness' ear twitched again, as she looked away from her encampment site in time to see a flare of fire in the distance. Leia and Kallin, dueling once more, no doubt.

Stepping away from the werebeasts for now, Luness let her arms drop to her side casually, as she entered the field beyond, soon spotting Kallin standing with Leia not too far off.

Approaching the pair, Luness awkwardly didn't wave, as she wasn't entirely sure what to do until she was close enough to speak to them.

With a nod at Leia, Luness then looked to Kallin and asked, "How's the dueling going here?"

The corner of her mouth twitched, as she noted the few strands of grass clinging to Kallin's robe. Clearly, Leia had just caught him by surprise somehow.

Hearing a distant horn sounding, Luness knew that meant the newcomers were arriving at the camp finally.

Glancing between the two before her, Luness added, "Should we go meet the newcomers?"

In the middle of the campgrounds, a shadow could be seen darting from tent to tent, though the figure was not at ground level. If one were to look up, they would see a human girl flying with seemingly ease, her shimmering wings flapping harmoniously.

Leandra grinned in delight, as her takeoff hadn't been great, but now she was flying over the camp without a cinch. Her wings felt more like muscles nowadays, as she hardly had to think about it once she was airborne.

Curving almost entirely vertical, Leandra turned as sharply as she could before shakily leveling out once more. Her expression was momentarily one of fear before she relaxed once more into the motion. Flying was certainly harder than it looked. Even more so when one didn't grow up with their wings. It was far from second nature for Leandra.

With her wings guiding her through the air for now, Leandra glided overhead and let her mind wander for the moment.

So much had happened since they left the desert behind and began preparing for all-out war with Caraboss and her forces. Leandra had practiced flying throughout that time, finding that her best bet for taking off smoothly was to do it from high places...which meant she had a new tendency to casually climb to the roof of whatever was closest to her.

Leandra had also worked on her healing powers, aiding those who sparred by healing their wounds and sending them off to spar once more. Leandra now could heal more people in one go and didn't get nearly as exhausted as she did before. Though, she hadn't healed any mortal wounds as of lately. Those always exhausted her almost immediately.

Suddenly, a horn sounding nearby startled Leandra out of her thoughts and one of her wings dipped in a sudden wind current she hadn't seen coming. With a startled scream, Leandra was earthbound and lost all control just as she went crashing headfirst into someone who had been standing at the front of an important-looking tent.

After crashing to the ground on top of the woman, Leandra's eyes widened and she scrambled to her feet, her wings accidentally slapping the woman a few times in the moment. Scrambling back from the woman, and not noticing the religious group now behind her nor Princess Briar standing only a few feet away, Leandra looked at the serious woman with a terrified expression before stammering, "I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that, I swear! My blasted wings still don't want to listen to me all the time."

Leandra's wings had folded against her back at this point and now wilted in size, as she could only imagine the fury she was about to get from this all too serious-looking woman.

Despite her fear, though, Leandra cautiously brought one of her hands up and over her shoulder to grasp the top-end of her curved staff, just in case she needed to deftly defend herself from the woman's fury.

----Outside of the camp----

--Raldbthald--

A good distance away from the camp and its patrols lay a cave. Now there was nothing special about this cave, infact it was the most plain looking one in the area. It had nothing, no ores, no beautiful sights but what it did have however was a giant maze of tunnels, stretching out across the whole Fablewood and someone or something was flying through them, quickly making its way to the surface.

This thing was Raldbthald, a necromancer who sealed his soul into a body of metal and was now flying with the help of his electrical magic towards the exit of the cave. He had memorized the map of these tunnels, which his minions had dug out many years ago and with confidence and ease swung his serpentine body around turns and slowly made his way towards the surface.

Raldbthald wouldn't usually leave the safety of his castle as he wasn't the adventurous type but this was a special occasion. Raldbthald had heard that some humans from another dimension came to fablewood some years ago. This made him ponder: if people could come from earth to fablewood, people from fablewood could come to earth. He wanted to do this but for some time couldn't identify who was a human from fablewood and who was from earth and his research got nowhere.

But then some lone wolf in black and red armour had come across his castle and thought that he could take it, the fool got slaughtered faster than he could say "cheese". Really, Raldbthald would have forgotten about this incident if it wasn't from something he discovered within him. From closer inspection of his soul Raldbthald discovered that it had not originated in fablewood but from somewhere else. With the soul raldbthald managed to make a spell to see who was from earth and who was not to help him in his task.

With the spell he snuck into many villages and kidnapped earthlings. With their souls he managed to open a small hole the size of a fist into earths dimension for some brief minutes and Raldbthald couldn't believe it! Birds of metal were soaring above the clouds and houses as tall as mountains stretched into the sky! He lusted to go into this dimension, to be able to do research without having it vaporized when it reached a certain level like in fablewood, but no matter how many souls he poured into the process he couldn't open a bigger hole. He eventually realized what he needed, samples.

Raldbthald needed as many samples as possible from some earthlings and now, a merry band of adventurers was leaving the safety of their armies, cities and bodyguards to trek through unpopulated wilderness to find some magic artifact. Raldbthald couldn't think of a better time to strike.

Unfortunately it couldn't be as easy as: summon all my minions on them in the middle of the forest and kill them, no he had to get samples of their memories and even parts of their souls for the dimension spell to open a bigger hole and last longer. He had read in a dark tome that a soul or memory was more powerful when used by someone the person who lost the soul liked, and one didn't exactly give their soul to some 6m tall metal naga who had chained you to a wall in a dungeon.

Raldbthald had evaluated all of his choices and decided that if he was going to get the best samples, he had to get close to the adventurers and for that he already had a plan, but first he had to get to the surface.

After five more minutes of flying through the tunnels, he finally reached the surface. If he had his original body he would have covered his eyes as the sun was shining right onto him." I guess that's just another one of the many joys about being a magical metal litch" he sighed as he stopped hovering and leaned on his glaive, enjoying the view of the vast grasslands. ' Oh how long has it been since i went outside of my castle. What, two or three years? To bad a necromancer doesn't get to enjoy the simpler parts of life such as this as often, what with all the experimenting and all.' Raldbthald thought, still looking out onto the grasslands, relaxing.

After marveling at the view some more he composed himself and put his mind back to the mission. Now, he knew that the forces of good had set up a camp some distance from here but he couldn't just waltz into the camp and demand a place within the group of the adventurers for a lot of reasons. Many of those reasons were somehow connected to the fact that he didn't exactly look like a "good guy" or that he wasn't sure what their stance on necromancy was. The main reason though was that if he did infact go into the camp and demand a place with the adventurers and the generals did accept it, the adventurers would most likely feel like he was forced onto them and he couldn't have that.

He needed the trust between him and the group to be built faster and to do that, THEY had to accept HIM. To do this he had a plan but for that he needed the armies to fight and people to die, he could easily collect the corpses from afar with his magic but he couldn't attack any army himself. Only a madman would attempt that and luckily he still had most of his sanity intact.

He sent out a faint signal of electric energy to sense who was where and luck seemed to be on his side because he could feel some of the forces of evil making their way through a nearby swamp, the force was moderatly large so they would probably get spotted and the army of good would send out someone to deal with them.

"Perfect" resounded from the place on Raldbthald's grey,metal mask where the mouth would have been and he began to make his way toward the swamp, trying to avoid detection by both the armies of good and evil.

It was a hot day, Ian was sweltering in the heat."Gods, to think it would be cooler here than the real world." He scoffed, finding a shady spot by a tree. He quickly walked over to it, resting.

He decided to summon his four trusty mini golems. He dug his hand in the earth and out came four mini golems. It took a while for the golems to comprehend where they were before they jumped on him."Oh you guys! I told you, act professional!" He scolded them, pushing them off him. He stood up, looking at them sternly."Now, single file line behind me." He ordered. The golems clumsily ran behind their master,"Now, march!" Ian started to walk towards the entrance to the camp. He smiled confidently, looking around him at the various creatures gathered here.

Towards the eastern side of the plateau the tents of the war band claimed under the banner of Fablewoods forces, changed from a hodge podge of different colors and styles to a small patch of singular color and style. Emerald green tents, each about 6 feet tall and enough room to shelter several fully grown man during the nights, covered a small section of the eastern boarder before the wide expanse of the forest the loomed over them. The people entering and exiting the tents all shared a similar style as well as their temporary housings, green armor with gold accents around the major pieces, each with a insignia of their own of a circle with a large Z in the middle. There were human sized soldiers, some much shorter, some that didn't look human at all, and many animal like beings, all supporting the insignia clad in emerald.

Through the hustle and bustle of this part of the camp, a short and stout little figure was bustling past with an air of the utmost importance.

"Excuse me....pardon me.......please let me through!"

The bronze colored figure gleamed in the light, his small rounded midsection making him look rather stocky compared to many of the soldiers. While he wasn't clad in green armor like many of the others he still bore the same insignia over his heart, if he actually had one, over his uper left torso. The small round cap on his head, that matched the rest of his mechanical body bounced as he did over every stone and bump along the pathway to a tent that was slightly larger than the see of green.

The figure stuck his head inside, his bronzed mustache dropping to see the inside was empty.

"General?? For the love of Ozma, where has that great hairy beast gone to."

The tent backed up to the very border of the forest, and as the figure crossed the room, he noticed the back flap of the tent was open. He sighed, hesitantly pushing through it to stare at the forest line. The green orbs of his eyes flicked across the tree lines for a moment before they landed on a glow of green that was making its way through the forest.

The sound of branches snapping and bushes being shoved aside made the little bronze man shake a bit, the rattling of his helmet atop his head evident of that. But after a few seconds the glow disappeared and a large figure stepped from the trees. Clad in armor made of leather around the midsection, and gold plates around the legs, arms and shoulders, the great leonine head poked out of the shadows wearing a weary smile. His large white mane looked neat from braids that kept the hair from his face. His one good eye, fixated on the little portly figure and he smiled.

"Tik tok, it is good to see you. Did the skeezers make it in on time?"

The figure known as Tik Tok seemed to visibly relax a bit as he mad his way closer to the towering figure.

"Aye sir, they did. The arrived only twenty minutes ago. I pointed them to their workshop, far away from the flat heads, as requested."

Leo nodded as he continued past the little bronze man and headed for his tent. Tik Tok followed right behind into the tent. Leo made his way over to a small table and lifted a piece of parchment from it. A list of all of the Ozites he had been able to convince to lend aid to Fablewood's call. Tik Tok made his way over to Leo's side as he checked off the name on the list named "Skeezers".

"Did you have any luck in the forest then?"

Leo set the paper down and sighed.

"Unfortunately not. The creatures of this forest are far to interested in staying out of this war. Even if it could mean the death of their forest. I may try again. But I doubt it will do much good."

It was then that a horn rang out over the camp and Leo's ear perked up. He picked up the page once more and handed it to Tik Tok as he headed for the door.

"We are scheduled to receive at least two more bands of Winkies before night fall. See to it that they get to the tent with the others will you my friend?"

The little bronze figure took the page and saluted Leo as he disappeared out of the tent. Leo made his way towards the large red tent where he had been told the newcomers would be arriving. It was good to know that there was reinforcements still on their way. They surely needed all the help they could get. As he walked, the flutter of wings from a passing bird made his good eye dart sideways. He knew what he wanted to see, wasn't going to be there. But he couldn't help think of the raven, his raven, and her mission that had taken her away from him. He returned his attention forward, trying to focus on his new responsibilities as General for Oz's forces in the war, and the possibility of new humans arriving today.

Otto

The sounds of metal on metal resounded through the sleeping little wolf's dreams. Though the symphony came from claws on metal, Otto's dreams were filed with the images of pots and pans dancing with sizzling bacon in them. He rolled onto his back and smiled. The small little shady spot he had found inside one of the old barrels behind his tent was the perfect place for him to take a nap in. Though it would not shelter him forever.

When the sounds of the training grounds stopped, Otto's eye opened slightly. He lifted his head quickly and tilted his ear to the side as he heard a voice speak up. From outside the barrel the sounds of claws raking the sides turned into flesh on wood and the thick moppy head of black hair peered out of the barrel slowly. He was perched on the back right corner of the tent that his half sister had been calling home, not wanting to stray to far from the only family he had in this world. His barrel was cozy when he was smaller, but in his human form it was a bit tighter.

He watched as the grounds before the tents of werebeast came to a halt and he leaned his head a little further out to see what was going on. Luness, was marching back and forth before a couple of werebeast talking to them. It sounded rather boring, and Otto leaned an arm over the side and then his head in his hand as he watched.

Not very good with swords or strategies, Otto tended to stay out of the way of the other fighters. He could fight, but he tended to do it "his way" as opposed to the others. Besides that, he hadn't learned to fully control his beast form over the last month of being stuck at this camp. Luness had been patient with him, spending what little free time she had to help her half brother quickly learn how to control his shifted form. But so far it had only resulted in one attempt that was semi successful, and many more attempts with slashed tents.

Lost in thought, Otto nearly missed the return of the fighting noises and the disappearance of his sister. He perked up quickly, looking around and then leaned over the side of the barrel a ways to see where she had gone. The barrel tilted further and further until it finally succumbed to gravity and fel over to its side. Otto shifted quickly back into the barrel as it began to move on its side rolling down the ever so slight hill towards the sparring grounds with increasing speed. The little wolf spun around and around, the shouts and growls of the trainees in an uproar as the barrel interupted the training. IT finally came to a stop when the barrel bounced of a little wererabbit and smashed into the side of the bear it had been sparring with.

Otto's head was swirling around and around, and for a moment he thought he was surrounded by bears. He put a paw to his head and shook it liberally. He winced and looked up to the bear as it merged into one.

"Heh, sorry bout that!"

The bear snarled at the little wolf and before he had a chance to grab Otto by the neck, the little wolf was running full sprint away from the training grounds. He looked back, tongue hanging out of his smiling face as he padded through the camp. He turned back to look forward and dropped to his belly, sliding on the grass as he dodges a table and chairs filled with people eating at them. Shouts of "Hey watch it!" and "Watch where you're going!" could be heard, but still Otto ran. His eyes flicking from one side to the other, following the all to familiar scent of Luness. As he drew closer, two more scents became more prominent and Otto's smile widened. He pushed himself to go a bit faster ducking under a bush that he was sure was the final barrier between his friends and him. It was. The sound of a horn drew his attention away for a second and when he returned to looking where he was going once more, he was running through the middle of the archery range headed for the other side where he could see Lea, Kallin, and Luness.

"GUUUUYSSSS!!DIdyouhearthehornIthinkitstimetogoseethenewrecruitsWHOA!!!"

Otto, trying his best to stop as he skid across the wet grass, slid on his paws as he passed the three people until he went into a full somersault tumble and disappeared into another bush. He shifted, poking his human head out of the bush with bits of leaves and twigs sticking out of his thick hair, still wearing the same smile he always did.

Rays of sunlight beat down upon the tranquil forest setting. Chirps of birds and rustling leaves filled the air with sound. Peaceful days were coming to an end soon but basking in them for one more day would not hurt would it? The shimmering green aura that was nature were spread all around and caressed the ground. With just a glance a passer by would never notice the figure looming in plain sight. Moss, vines, bushes, and even some animal nests covered the stone body of a slumbering beast. It's face dormant of emotion and life, it lay there consumed by earth over the hundreds of years. What was a simple fun exploration into a world unknown turned into a time consuming slumber for just the right time for it to awaken once more. Perhaps it was destiny that it played out like this. The ever looming threat of evil was coming to take what it thought was right. A shadow of dark magic flew across the ground looking for something. For a helpless creature that it may consume and grow in power for the up coming war. As it passed over the sleeping rock, it became stunned. It slowly started to get pulled towards the body as a faint glow of sickly green started to pulse for the first time in 500 years. It desperately clawed at anything it could to resist its fate but it was a helpless act. This evil energy was just the kick start the living rock needed to awaken. Through the power that brought it life, so did it awaken him. The beady eyes started to flicker as the living dark magic was sucked into the center of its chest. The sickly green glow of the soul crystal swirled with dark purple energy. The eyes switched between green, blue, purple, yellow, red.

A faint rumbling came from the forest. Birds flew away from the source of the sound and into the safety of the sky. The soul stone returned to the sickly green but pulsed slightly as the being now woke. Snapping of vines and the crumbling of rock echoed in the now silent forest. Standing just above 9 feet was a hulking stone person. Covered in the elements of the forest, it slowly moved its body. The stony fingers curled and uncurled. The arms waved as to loosen gravel stuck in the cracks that connected the arms to the body. A big stony jaw screeched in a terrible stone on stone rubbing. Wit a mighty yawn, the stone figure stretched.

Name... The figure said confused. It's voice was rather soothing actually. The magic stone that gave it life was the actual source of sound. Naturally it moved its mouth from instinct. The being looked at its shoulder full of moss and brought the club like fingers up to it. Wiping away the fuzzy green from the shoulder reviled the word "TY" with a second portion corroded away.

Name... Ty! He said gleefully. Small chirping from his other shoulder showed newly born birds resting in a nest. Ty looked with a rigid smile at the 3 new borns. My name Ty! What your names? He asked the chirping birds casually as he waited a response. Ty like chirp, tweet, and peep. Do you know where Ty is? He said as he gently took the nest down. Despite his strong like appearance, he was rather good at controlling the brute strength.

He followed the birds sounds in random directions as though he were understanding what they were talking about. Soon, it lead him to the edge of the forest. Tall trees were shorter than deeper in. The light was much more harsh but it was still a pleasant sight.
Ty doesn't understand where we are going. Why bring Ty to empty field? He listened to the calmer tweets of the chicks. Oh, that makes sense. It is a very beautiful sight! He said warmly.

Chère Maman et Papa,

Comment allez-vous? It has been deux mois since I came to this foreign land. But, Mama, Papa, ne vous inquiétez pas, everyone here has been kind to me so far, at least, that is what I believe! I am not in France anymore! But, Mama, did you know that the place I fell down the rabbit hole from is not Wonderland but it was a magical land called Fablewood? Everything here just screams magic, fairy tales, and adventure! But, there is not a day that I miss you and papa. It feels like just yesterday that I stumbled upon here. Right now, I am with Sir Tumnus, a fawn with light brown hair and a goat-tee from the Western Woods, and we are heading towards The Far Plains. Sir Tumnus told me that other people, humans, like me, from our world were brought here by a spell! Can you believe that? A spell! But, what is even more amazing is that he said we were all brought here for a reason. . and that is to help Fablewood regain peace in their lands. It still boggles my mind that I will be part of an actual adventure, more than just my imaginations and writings that I have written in my books and stories that I have read! I am unsure if it is a dream come true, but it is definitely something I am looking forward to, I have always wanted more than this provincial life. Plus, where there is someone in need, we must heed their call, right? At least, that's what you have taught me. Oh! Sir Tumnus is calling for me now, our break is over and it is time for us to pick up on our journey once more. I will write more to you soon, mama, papa.

Amour,

Ariella Elisabeth Hope

P.S. Please don't cry and worry too much! Also, please tell Jacob to not take blame, it is not his fault. It is no one's.

"Little one, are you finished? It's time to go, much to do." Sir Tumnus walked over towards the young, human girl he had stumbled upon a few months prior to now. He had been patrolling the Western Woods near the Far Plain, though it had been closer to the Whispering Isles, and he saw one little human girl, very confused and very lost. But after a few precautionary moments from both him and her, the girl ended up talking up a storm and asking so many questions. To say the least, he was amused, though, a slight headache would occur from time to time hearing the little "birdy" chirp so much. Placing the wood-spiraled binded book with parchment pages inside her messenger back that was made out of soft, brown, leather, Ariella got up from her sitting position underneath the shades of the tree. Wiping off any leaves or dirt on her attire, Ariella adjusted herself and smiled widely, nodding at Sir Tumnus. "Oui, I just finished Sir Tumnus. Oh! "oui" means yes, in French, my native language from where I'm from." Skipping towards the fawn, Ariella stood by his side as she looked over at the other fawns cladded in armor as she waved towards them before looking ahead. As the group moved north to head towards the The Far Plains, Sir Tumnus spoke, his baritoned-voice carrying through the woods as they traveled, "What do you say is the period of this time of day?" He questioned her, testing her knowledge of what she learned so far during her time at Fablewood. Skipping by Sir Tumnus' side, Ariella scrunched her brows in thought as she looked around at her surroundings. Her head moved from side to side before she looked up in the high, sky. Clouds were scarce but there were some scattered in the light, blue, sky. However, the sun was shining down brightly towards the world as she felt the heat slowly burning up slowly. "Is it the afternoon, Sir Tumnus? We woke up at least a good few hours ago and left before the sun even rose and it feels like we've been traveling for a long time." She answered politely before looking towards him in bubbling curiosity. Blinking back his surprise, Sir Tumnus tried to remain expressionless as he looked on ahead, avoiding his birdy's eyes. A low giggle escaped her lips as she realized that it was her win and she triumphantly jumped up and down, clapping her hands together. "I will take your silence as I got it right!" At those words, the other fawns stopped their hooves, giving an indication of a clap as they trotted through the woods.

Shaking his head as he sighed lowly, Sir Tumnus looked back at the jittery human before he narrowed his eyes,
"Birdy, don't be so happy you have gotten something basic down such as time. The natives here would know of this matter since they were born. This is nothing to trifle over, little one." He warned her, scoldingly that there were far better triumphs she should feel rather than just having knowledge of the time of day. At Sir Tumnus' scolding and retort of her behavior, Ariella found herself slightly pouting, "Non, Sir Tumnus. Even if it's something as simple as time, I feel very accomplished, especially when everything is still new to me here." She stated, hoping he'd understand why she felt accomplished over something simple. If anything, she definitely didn't want to be a burden, nor did she want to rely on Sir Tumnus so much over her ignorance. But, that begs the question, what exactly did they need help with and how can she help? What can she do? As Arielle fell lost in thought, Sir Tumnus looked at his own group, making sure no one was lagging behind and that they were on a good pace, wanting to get to their destination as planned and punctual as possible. However, his birdy gave him a lot to think about, especially, with the girl being far away from home and being dropped into a land that wasn't her own. He had taken notice of the girl's weakened muscles, though her foot-work was quite a surprise to notice. Though not strong in upper strength, he had tested the girl's mettle, sparring from time to time, allowing her to get used to the spars of Fablewood. However, as Ariella was brought out of her musings of wonder how she could help, she knew she only had the capability of just protecting herself and one other person, however, that's only if their opponent wasn't something as massive as what saw a few feet in front of her. Looking at the giant in front of her made out of stone, leaves, and other mosses, Ariella gasped softly, "Sir Tumnus, who is that? What kind of creature is he?" She asked, not pointing as she knew it was polite, but nevertheless gaped with her mouth wide-open. Looking in the direction his birdy was looking, Sir Tumnus halted in his steps as he raised a slight hand, allowing the other fawns to pause. "Careful, birdy. We do not know if he's a friend or foe. I-."

But, before he could finish his warnings, Ariella was already walking quickly towards the creature, curiousity peaking at it's finest as she stared in awe. Trying not to scare the giant in front of her as well as the three chirping birds on his shoulders, Ariella slowed down her pace when she was close enough, "U-um, bonjour, hello? My name is Ariella Elisabeth Hope. W-who are you? Aand what are you?" She innocently called out in curiosity towards the stoned-giant as she eyed him, taking in his stature and every detail. Is he real? Or is it my imagination? She still couldn't fathom the belief that there are not only just fawns in Fablewood but creatures of all sorts of walkways, including the one in front of her. But, exactly what was he called? Ariella felt like drawing the creature as she committed his appearance to her memories, taking in the careful details of his being. On the other hand, Sir Tumnus gritted his teeth, narrowing his eyes as he caught up towards his birdy, looking at her with glaring eyes, while the group stayed in the background, careful of any sudden movements and attack. Ariella felt a piercing gaze at her back and knew who it was, but she couldn't really find her attention on Sir Tumnus as she found interest in Mister Stone Leaves that was right in front of her.

Ty stood just at the edge of the Western forest as he gazed out towards the fields. He could swear he hear clangs of metal and shouts in the far distance but he was unsure what to do. What is over there? He pointed with his large club like hand. The birds chirped whether or not he said something but he enjoyed the thought that their sound changed after he spoke. Big metal drum? That sounds funny. Ty wonders if I could play big metal drum. Do you think Ty could if I ask? He spoke to the birds. They chirped and tweeted all the same and his eyes went blue. Oh, yeah, Ty guess that is true. Ty doesn't even have metal sticks to hit drum with. Ty guesses drum is out of the question then. He said a little disheartened. Still he was rather interested in what there was to see over there. He only had fragments of memory for objects. He knew the basics but any skills towards an idea were all lost after the soul transfer. He sulked in the idea while the birds chirps only made him feel a little better. His eyes were phasing between blue and green for a few moments. Oh, you guys. Making Ty feel better with your words! Ty treat you to something! Where Chirp, Tweet, and Peep want to g-...

Ty became very confused for a moment. He cocked his head as he stared at the birds. Bone.. Jar? That makes a strange cup. He said before slowly shaking his head. I thought you all said your names are Chirp, Tweet, and Peep... Now they Ariella, Elizabeth, and Hope? Why Confuse Ty? The birds Peeped before going quiet due to the new presence of people. What do you mean Tweet.. I mean Elizabeth? That makes no sense bringing trees into this now. He said looking at the trees around him. He slowly turned only to meet the presence of a girl, a fawn, and even more behind him. Ty looked at them all with his beady green eyes as they twitched from person to person. He didn't even know what they were but they all looked interesting. Especially the girl without hairy legs like the others. At just over nine feet tall, he towered over them all. He was a little frightened by the glare of the fawn next to the girl but it wasn't strong enough to change the color of his eyes. With the terrible sound of stone rubbing against each other, Ty knelt down before the girl but made sure the nest did not fall. He watched the girl closely but she looked so sweet and non-threatening.

Ty is named Ty. He said pointing at his shoulder. Ty doesn't know what Ty. Ty like to see things though. Ariella, Elizabeth, and Hope have been helping Ty find things to see! They even lead Ty to the edge of the forest where Ty can here the big metal drums in the distance. Ty scanned everyone near him. The other folk seemed rather put off by him but the girl before him seemed very interested. Ty doesn't know what you are either. What are you called? He said as he slowly put his finger out before her. He guided it to her hair and poked at it. Um... Hair! Ty knows about hair though! Lot's of things have hair! Even Ty! He said as he retracted his finger and stroked the moss on him.

Upon Princess Briar taking her leave from the tent, the firebird bowed slightly with respect and remained as such for a few seconds before straightening up to full height. Ember's eyes had been narrowed and fixed with underlying suspicion on the fair face of the person whom she assumed was the priestess. The way the young lady adressed Her Highness Princess Briar suggested that they had known each other before, but during the years she trained in Branbern, she had not seen her face and therefore, the priestess was a stranger to her.

Though she stood guarded with her left hand rested on the hilt of her rapier which lay against her right hip, her mind was elsewhere. She was ready to unsheath the blade lest anything dangerous or unexpected were to happen, but at the same time, the corner of her eye detected the movement of a fair-haired person exiting the tent. With curiosity getting the best of her, she turned to look at the man but she couldn't quite get a good look at him when a something - or someone - came screaming and crashing down on her. There was a split second between Ember hearing the falling maiden to her being hit by Leandra with all the force gravity thrown at her.

To describe the crash as painful was quite an understatement. Ember had been knocked down onto the earthy ground flat on her back with her red-brown hair fanning out around her. She lay there for a second, as red hot pain radiated from her head and back with the wind completely knocked out of her. Bright blue eyes opened and almost immediately focused on the face of Leandra with the eerie sharpness of an eagle watching its prey. So, this was the creature that decided to fall out of the sky above her? (No offense to Leandra xD ) The intensity of her gaze increased by ten fold as she scrutinized the girl with a barely noticeable, underlying blaze of annoyance and slight anger in her eyes.

It would've seemed like Ember was about to say something, but years of training had drilled into her the skill of holding her tongue and pushing down her temper, as an outburst would not be necessary, especially in the presence of Her Highness. Swallowing her anger, the female took on the expression of utter disregard as she slowly sat up, wincing slightly at the pain pulsating from her spine. With a wave of her hand, she seemed to dismiss the girl's apologies before saying in a curt, finite voice, "It is fine."

It wasn't since it fricken hurt, but they did not have to know.

Kallin's heart never failed to do a small backflip when he heard Luness' voice, he brushed himself off self-consciously before standing at attention and firing off an exaggerated salute. He was teasing her. He had watched her many a time drill the were beasts and in truth he admired the authority and control she wielded.

"Yes ma'am! The recruit is learning how to control her fire rat ma'am!" Leia elbowed him and he tried not to laugh. Leia had become like a sister to him, just as Otto felt like a little brother. Slowly, Kallin seemed to be building a family, and he liked the thought.

At mention of the new comers to the camp Kallin nodded. "We should at least go and make sure they know which way to hold a sword."

He gestured suavely for Leia and Luness to precede him and together they made their way to the large red carousel tent that rose above all others.

It was just then that Otto came barreling onto the scene and promptly vanished head first into a row of bushes. Kallin had to jump back a step.

"Whoa there, the fire's out buddy." He said, happily hauling the young man to his feet. "Come on, let's go meet these new soldiers."

Ward followed his mother and Briar out the entrance to the tent. The sun was brilliant in the sky and he shielded his eyes, trying to let them adjust. Suddenly a scream put him on full alert and his head shot up to see a figure plummeting out of the sky.

"Oh! Leandra! Look out!" He rushed forward, attempting to put himself between Leandra and the young woman who happened to be standing just by the war tent entrance. In the flash he saw her he thought he recognized her face, and then suddenly everything was a mass of feathers and limbs as Ward went down too, failing utterly in his attempt to intercept the young human.

Ward rolled backward, sitting on the dewy grass and listening to Leandra apologize profusely for the transgression. The entire scene had shocked him out of his melancholy completely and as he surveyed the chaos, and the shocked expressions on nearby faces a smile spread widely on his own.

He began to laugh, a bright, ringing sound that filled him with joy he had almost forgotten how to feel.

"That was quite the landing!" His golden eyes were shining as he rose to his feet and moved to help both girls up.

"Please do forgive Leandra," He told the young woman, hearing her angered reply as he reached for her hand. Suddenly he paused as he caught a good look at her face.

"You...I know you."

"Ward! Are you all right?" Brenna's voice was laced with concern but he nodded, a small smile still playing on his face. "No one is hurt badly I don't think. Are you injured Leanrda? How are your wings? And...my lady?" He did not know her name, but he had passed her in the halls of Branbern more than once. They had not spoken much at all, he only knew her as another of Briar's many servants.

Briar sighed with relief. "Ward, Leandra, I'd like you to meet Ember. A phoenix, and one who will be your protector Ward, until the war is done."

"A pleasure." Ward said formally, still not convinced he required a guard. "Are you certain you are not hurt?"

@Dominaiscna @Lioness075

Briar, on seeing no real damage had been done turned her attention to the man marching dutifully toward the tent. Behind him trailed several clumsy earth men that to her, looked endearingly comical. Then her gaze turned to the young girl and her entourage and she smiled warmly. She had heard a good deal about the young girl from Ward and the others, but had not met her yet.

"The crown of Branbern greets you." She said loudly, so all could hear. "Welcome good sir, and lady Arianne."

Ward dipped his head in acknowledgement to Arianne. It was good to see her again.

@Naloth @DawnAntalios

Kallin arrived just as Leandra was disentangling herself from Ember and he gave her the best amused look he could given that he didn't have eyebrows in this form.

"You know Feathers, that's probably not the best way to go about making friends."

((@forgefan none of my characters are at the swamp, and if I add any more npcs to my roster I'm gonna go nuts ^^ can you please bring your character to the camp?))

Ember, who had a hand gently rubbing her lower back, looked up at the approach of the man who had exited the tent. She saw his hand first, reaching towards hers, and backed away slightly before her eyes travelled up to his face and properly regarded him for the first time with widening eyes fill with growing recognition.

"You...!"

She recognized his face almost immediately. His fair hair and golden eyes... No, she should've recognized him much earlier when she heard his voice through the tent flap. The man before her whose name she did not know..she had seen him so many times within the castle grounds and had assumed he served under Princess Briar...so what was he doing there in the presence of the Her Highness and Queen Brenna?

It was then that Princess Briar addressed him casually as Ward, a name which happened to sound very familiar to her. Joining the dots, all thoughts of the earlier accident evaporated as Ember rose to her feet only to fall to one knee in respect with head bowed to the Prince. She did not understand how he was the Crown Prince of the Whispering Isles...what with him working under Princess Briar within Branbern... Had Her Highness known all along? Had he only found out of his lineage only recently?

Some how, she could not quite believe it... Even as she stole a glance at the young man's face, she couldn't see him as a newly crowned prince. But, upon reminding herself that opinion was not of any importance, her gaze returned to the floor.

"Your Majesty..." She spoke quietly with both hands rested on the hilt of her rapier, "I am fine."

----Raldbthald----

His trip to the swamp couldn't have been more of a success. When he got there, the so called army of darkness had already been slaughtered and lay face down into the mud, ripe for picking like a fresh fruit. The corpses were mostly humans and wargs so they weren't hard to resurrect, and in order to increase their defenses he melted their armour to their skin with a fire spell. The whole process was tiring for him so he plopped down onto the muddy ground to relax and to think of his next move.

'Well, now that I have the zombies and the next part of my plan doesn't come into play for quite some time, what should i do?' He didn't really know, it was not usual of him to miss an oversight such at this. 'But even the greatest make mistakes' he thought, irritated with himself.

'Well, later on I might encounter one of the armies aand since i haven't got anything better to do than to stand around and do nothing, I might as well go visit the army camp, maybe i could even manage to raid their graveyard for more corpses while i am there!'. Since the camp of the good army was closest Raldbthald decided to visit it instead of the evil camp. " Never liked evil looking woods anyways". he said as a matter of fact and embarked himself toward the entrance of the camp. " hope the guards wont ask too many questions."

Arianne looked at the crashing sight of the almost-majestic Leandra. She needed to shield her eyes for a moment, not wanting to see the damage it would cause for the bodyguard-looking girl looked very serious... very resolute. While she was not afraid of her she knew it would be unwise to anger such an adamant guardian and thus she just chuckled when they got up.

" Some things never gets old. " she said.

" You know these people, my lady? " Latosius asked.

" Some of them, yes. " the girl said " The enigmatic bodyguard was unknown to me and I only heard about her majesty in tales... but Leandra... and especially Ward... well, they I have met. "

She chuckled, thanking Briar for her hearty welcome.

" It is an honor, your Majesty, I longed for this meeting since a very long time. I originally came to search for Ward but... " she smiled " It seems that our Prince is in very good hands. "

She turned to her follower.

" Latosius, would you mind leaving us for now? The Faith needs your help, I am sure. "

The friar was uncertain at first but nodded as he silently backed away. She then turned to everyone nearby, eyeing at Ember, first of all. The guardian seemed to be very resolute, her resolve unyielding - her faith unwavering. She walked up to her with a smile on her expression.

" Greetings, Lady Ember. " Arianne bowed respectfully, clutching her staff " I am Priestess Arianne. It is always a heart-warming sight to see someone new being as devoted to the crown... but as Ward's friend I might wish to advise you not to fall to your knees in front of his... majesty. " this word made her chuckle " He... is not too fond of such formalities, as beautiful as they are. Well, the last time he wasn't anyway. "

That being said she turned to Ward and Leandra with a gleeful smile.

" Well if I were to stay true to myself I would throw my staff down and hug the world out of you guys... Prince Ward, Lady Leandra. " she chuckled " But alas, duty binds us to remain focused... and composed. It has been too long... I am sorry that we need to meet under such circumstances. "

She noticed Kallin entering now as well, dipping her head towards him with a warm smile. The dark mage's presence filled her with the usual unease, but probably that was because her light wisps started to fear the chaotic energies of the powerful spellcaster. Arianne herself was not worried, she knew who Kallin was - and actually liked the gloomy wizard.

Upon him entering her wisps really did panic and flew towards Leandra and Ember. Knowing Leandra more three wisps decided to encircle her, embracing the girl happily - while two of them decided to curiously inspect Ember, looking at her with happiness and mischievous smile.

" Guys! Stop it! " Arianne poked the ground with her staff " Stop bothering Leandra and the noble knight! "

Of course her spirits were now too happy and curious to stop so they just ignored their mistress. Arianne sighed - sometimes during these days she herself felt like a mother looking out for the most hyper kids on earth.

" Please, accept my apologies. " she said towards everyone " They are just happy to see you people. "

Ian looked at each of his golems, he had named each, based on their single personality, which was hard to tell. To the untrained eye, they all look the same, but taking a closer look, you will see that they have different hue's of colors.

The one sitting quietly and picking flowers was Ryna, she has the most pinkish hue out of all of them having greeb eyes, but she's also the most commanding oit of the four. Next, was Rocko, the shy one, he has a light brown shade and blue eyes, he tends to stay in the back of the group and look around. Then, was Nut, the outgoing one, he has the darkest shade out of the four having blue eyes, but he is also the most hyped up one, even for doing simple tasks. And finally, was Ozzy, the bravest, he has the lightest shade of grey, having piercing brown eyes and a fixed killer look on his face. He is the exact replica of Ian, that is, personality wise.

Upon, hearing the introduction, Ian started slowly walking over, his golems trailing after him."Thank you, good sir?" Ian bowed back rather awkwardly, unsure of who the man was. He walked over to the man, introducing himself." I am Ian Kovalsky, I recently came to thjs world, but I would love to help on the war." He replied as formal as he can, he glanced over at the golems and waved his hand at the to stand next to him."Right guys?" He looked at his golems with a warning look. He softened up a little has they clumsily scrambled to stand next to their master, looking professional.

Watching Kallin's exaggerated salute, Luness was already rolling her eyes in amusement before he'd even verbally responded. The corner of her mouth twitched slightly in response before she said in a sarcastic tone that she'd picked up on not too long ago, "Oh, good to know, my fellow soldier."

Shaking her head in amusement, Luness was about to say more when she smelled a rapidly approaching scent that she knew all too well. Moments later, Luness casually took a step back just in time to watch Otto barrel by while shouting way too fast for anyone to understand him.

Raising an eyebrow at this, Luness then glanced back at Kallin to give him a curt nod at the mention of meeting the newcomers. At the very least, if one of them couldn't fight then hopefully they could heal. Or perhaps make some good grub.

Lightly laughing at Otto's antics, Luness then took him from Kallin's grasp and almost immediately had the poor werewolf stuck in a headlock, instantly giving him a noogie.

After she had her fun for a couple seconds, Luness let go off Otto and crossed her arms over her chest in feigned disappointment.

"I wonder, Otto...where have you been all day?"

Luness was already fully aware of Otto's hiding place in that barrel near her tent, though she was not aware that it was no longer present there.

Hearing laughter breaking the overly awkward silence from the initial crash landing, Leandra felt her face turning red almost immediately, her wings somehow drooping even lower. She felt a sudden compulsive desire to wrap herself in her wings and pretend that if she couldn't see anyone then that meant she was invisible.

Definitely not the ideal way to meet anyone.

Once the woman opened her eyes and glared at Leandra, the poor girl all but found herself paralyzed in place. Crap, crap, crap, crap....was all that she could think, as she imagined the woman shish-kebabing her for this whole ordeal. She looked like she knew a thing or two about fighting with that fancy sword of hers, too.

Once the woman's expression shifted to one that was less murderous and she said that it was fine in a tone that suggested otherwise, Leandra felt her paralysis begin to fade, though she still couldn't help herself.

"Sorry...again."

Feeling a sudden strong desire to face palm, Leandra looked to Ward when he told the woman to forgive her, though Leandra doubted the woman would do so. As long as she wasn't shish-kebabed for all of this...

Glaring at Ward in a more teasing manner than anything else, Leandra then responded to his landing comment, "I would love to have seen your crash landings when you were growing up, Birdbrain."

While Leandra had a military past in the human world, she'd grown distant from that experience with her time in FableWood. Now she was less inclined to be professional, more so than ever before so it would seem. With that in mind, Leandra didn't even think twice in addressing Ward as "Birdbrain", a nickname she'd given him not long after they'd started training together. Ward was helping her nearly everyday in learning how to better control her flight, though her landings were less than...desirable.

Leandra was oblivious to the two knowing one another, as she took the moment of distraction between them as a moment for her to check herself. She hadn't even considered her own injuries until Ward mentioned it.

Trying to grab one of her stubborn wings only set the stage for another laughable moment, as Leandra reached for a wing only for it to flare out and away from her. With a huff of annoyance, Leandra quickly gave up before she made even more of a fool of herself before this new woman, who was soon introduced as Ember and a phoenix.

Ignoring her stubborn wing, which naturally folded back against her back once she stopped grabbing for it, Leandra nodded at Ember and then felt a sudden desire to pelt the woman with questions. After all, Leandra had never met a phoenix before.

Leandra went comically rigid when she heard Kallin's voice teasing her not far away. Scowling at him, Leandra walked up to him, wary of Luness who wasn't far away, and then promptly responded, "Can it, Mage." With a smirk, Leandra poked at Kallin's hood before saying in an all-too teasing tone, "Can you blush in this form?"

Before waiting for Kallin's response, Leandra quickly added, "Because at least I don't blush every time I see a certain someone." With a grin at this, Leandra then turned on her heels and walked back over to Ward and Ember just in time for Ember to drop to her knees and address Ward in an overly formal manner.

Snorting at this, Leandra then elbowed Ward in the side before saying in an overly joking tone, "Your Majesty, your royal bodyguard awaits your commands."

Knowing all too well, much like Arianne, that Ward could care less for formalities, Leandra could only wait for his reaction, only for Arianne's wisps to be suddenly frightened by Kallin and Luness' presence.

Watching the wisps rush to her side, Leandra giggled and exclaimed, "Aww, they're so cute! And kinda...fluffy. Kinda." Looking sideways at Ward, Leandra then added, "Maybe not as fluffy as Ward when he's a gryphon."

~~~~~
Arriving at the scene not too long after Kallin had, Luness listened to him tease Leandra, who quickly approached before telling Kallin to "can it", whatever that meant.
Luness planned to ignore most of Leandra's teasing, as the girl seemed to be as bouncy and lighthearted as ever, which Luness didn't really want to get involved in, but she went rigid when blushing was mentioned. More so because it was mentioned as a reaction to seeing a certain someone.
Eyes wide, Luness glanced sideways at Kallin for his reaction, as Leandra wandered off, her wings bouncing a bit against her back.
Not a moment too soon after this, Arianne's wisps suddenly bolted from her side to greet Leandra and Ember, giving Luness and Kallin a brief moment alone unless Otto decided to do something. Which would probably be something along the lines of chasing a wisp.
Awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck, which was kind of hard to do in her leather armor, Luness glanced over at Ward in time to see Ember drop to her knees before the prince. Raising an eyebrow at this, Luness could only imagine Ward's reaction.
Though, her thoughts weren't only of Ward and so Luness quickly returned her gaze to Kallin while her right ear flickered a bit to show her temporarily concealed amusement.
"So...about Leandra's comment..."
As it were, Luness had gained a sense of humor over the past month and instead of taking offense to what Leandra had said like she would before, Luness furthered the joke.
"Do you really blush every time you see me, 'Mage'?"
With a subtle grin, Luness crossed her arms over her chest and waited for Kallin to respond.
Otto smiled as Kalin helped him climb out of the tangled mess of twigs and leaves and he began to brush himself off. He liked Kallin very much. Since Otto had joined with the others, Kallin had been a great friend to Otto and seemed to have the patience of a saint for Otto's antics. What's more, he made Luness happy, evident by the glow she always got after spending time with him. This made him like the mage even more.
Otto was about to shift back and bound towards where he had heard the horn call, but was swiftly taken by an arm around his neck. In the ritualist fashion of Luness' outward affect towards him, she began to rake her knuckles against his skull and hair as Otto squirmed and fidgeted to get loose.
"NO NO NO NO NO! Lune let me go!!"
Finally, whether it was his squirming or her good will, she released him and he stumbled sideways a bit before looking up at Luness to answer her. He thought back to his barrel and what had become of it after slamming into the bear, which made him sigh in sadness.
"Doesn't matter now. Poor barrel."
As if someone had flipped a switch, Otto perked up, shifted to his wolf form and began bounding around the group as they began walking towards the great big red tent.
"Just means I gotta find another good spot!!"
Otto continued bounding this way and that as they made their way towards the war tent. When they got to the clearing before it, Otto stuck his head out between Leia's legs at the sight before him and his jaw dropped in his goofy canine smile. It was quite the sight to see, a mass of feathers and people as Leandra untangled herself from Ward and a girl Otto had never seen before.
Infact, there were several people here Otto had never seen before. One of which was surrounded by tiny little creatures that made Otto's eyes go wide. He zipped across the open ground, a little black blur to most, that ended when he approached what looked to be tiny walking piles of rocks that surrounded a new mans knees. Otto stepped carefully towards the tiny creatures and began to sniff at the air around them trying to figure out what exactly it was.
Leo
Leo continued to make his way through camp heading for the large red war tent that was the central hub for the entire war effort. So many different races had come from all over Fablewood to help with the battle against Carabosse's growing forces. It made Leo proud to count himself as one of the many, but at the same time made his heart ache for the reason behind the war. The darkness had been spreading so much as of late, that it wouldn't be long before the fighting was right on their doorstep.
His melancholy attitude was disrupted by a short cry that he thought sounded alot like Ward. His pace quickened as he rounded a tent and came upon the scene before him of feathers and limbs sprawled on the ground. He relaxed, as the owner of the feathers became clear to him after a short second. Leandra and Wards voices rose to him like a beam of sunshine, warming him with the air of friendship and familiarity. He glanced around as more and more voices rose that only brightened him even more. Kallin, Arianne, Luness, and Otto all watching the scene before them and engaged with one another as they watched the scene before them.
There were unfamiliar voices as well. One came from a very strong looking woman, face like stone and saying very little. What Leo did catch was Princess Briar introducing her as Wards protector. Interesting, he thought to himself, So what he had heard about Elena was true. This was concerning.
The second voice he picked up on was that of a man, and his eye quickly fell to him. He was a rather ordinary looking man, though he had the tell tell sign of a human not in his natural environment still. As he motioned around him, Leo watched as tiny little creatures gathered around him making Leo chuckle slightly.
Leo's gaze returned to the group as a whole and he seemed to notably relax a little bit. With the responsibility over the Ozite forces, and the daily adventures into the neighboring forest, he had not been able to see his friends much. Being around them once more set his heart at ease. Without thinking, Leo folded his arms over his chest, letting his right hand fall on the emerald amulet that attached itself to the base of his left pauldron. The amulet that had been returned to him back in the whispering isles after being reunited with his master Bruin. From time to time he would feel a small warmth from the jewel, usually at times like this when his mind felt particularly at ease.
Ian still had his gaze on Ward, uncompletely forgotten about his golems. Meanwhile, the squad of golems took off, it has been rare for their master to forget about them, but they always took full advantage of that. They motioned towards a black wolf. Ryna waved her rock hand, motioning for the others to surround him. She grunted, trying to speak."I'm Ryna." She casually walked up to it and gave him flowers that she picked earlier. "Who are you?" She asked, looking up at Otto.
The three boys snickered seeing their leader struggling. She shot them a warning glance, picking up a small rock and throwing it at Nut. The rock it him hard, making him fall backwards. The rest quieted, not wanting to get the same punishment as Nut. Instead of staying, waiting for Ryna to finish conversating, Ozzy and Rocko made for a adventure.
They quickly sneaked away from Ryna's hawk eyes and made for the huge red tent, it looked like a mountain to them, a big red one. Ozzy started climbing it first, motioning for Rocko to come along, Rocko shook his head, as to say no and walked over to his master, Ian who was still waiting. Ozzy climbed to the top and looked over at the brilliant sky, this was the way of life. Poor Nut, everybody left without him, and he didn't know what to do, he walked around looking for someone to play with. He found a lion guy nearby and tugged his fur."
Can you play with me?" He asked, a big stony smile on his face.
Takeo was currently in his favorite place in the whole camp, and that was the stables. He had just finished practicing combat on the back of a horse and was in the middle of putter the steed back in his stable. "Gods why can't it be easier to ride a horse and attack someone on the ground?" He said with a light laugh as he took the saddle off the chestnut horse. "Granted I'm getting a lot better, but still you saw me fall of you at least twice. I need to practice my aim and got to get a better grip. All in all though I don't think that practice round was bad." Once he lead the horse to its spot he got the food and water needed to feed it. "You did good, rest up now buddy." Once he said this he turned on his heel and started to walk out of the stables though stopped in his steps when he heard a crash. "What the?"
Running out he headed to where the ruckus was however when he saw Leandra on the ground he put two and two together. A light snicker left him and he shook his head. "This is why I keep my feet on the earth or stay as close to it as possible. Less likely to crash into the ground." He said in a hum though unless you had good hearing he was just talking to himself. Takeo was honestly a bit impressed with the woman, as there was no way in any earth or fablewood he would even attempt to fly. Even if he had his own pair of wings. The idea of going into the air used to be fun to him... Then... Then he climbed a Rok which decided to fly only to crash land with him still on it. Not that fun and ever since he has been the last person that wanted to fly for any reason. Not that he would admit it of course, but after all the excuses he made to avoid going into the air over the past month, some might be able to figure it out if they paid attention.
Letting a light sigh leave him Takeo looked around, he had been busy the entire day and several days prior for other reasons. Soon his eyes landed on a very familiar lion and placing his hands in his pocket he walked over to him. "Glad to see you keep coming out of the forest in one piece." Takeo said as he stood next to Leo looking at him with a rather dorky kind of smile. Takeo had familiarized himself with almost everyone he had met on his journey, though there was still times he wasn't certain how to greet them. "Wait, I'm suppose to salute you aren't I general? I keep messing up on these military manners. Should have seen this one guy who got mad at me for saying a casual hi and a wave. Rather than a sir and a salute." After he said this he heard the sound of a small voice asking for someone to play with him. Looking behind him Takeo raised a brow at the small golem. "Uhh.. Friend of yours?" He asked Leo as he looked back at the lion.
Kibito was running back and froths helping every way he could around the camp. Doing any and every small job he could get his hands onto as he was trying his best to be helpful. Whether it be making new bandages, cooking some small meals, getting near by herbs for the food, or simply playing a few songs to lift anyone's mood he was more than happy to help out. He had rather grown onto the group but he still kept his distance from a lot of the people as he was mainly worried of getting in the way. He was thrilled to help, especially if it meant his help could make the bad lady go away then he was all for it.
Though, he was getting a bit restless. As much as he loved helping, he still had a goal and that was to find his brother. He had searched high and low even went through a dessert to find him. But so far there was no luck. It was rather depressing for him so he decided to take a break from the search, a month has passed since then. And he was now getting anxious to go out in the world once more to look. But at the same time he didn't want to just leave....and he didn't really have the courage to go to a higher rank and ask if he could go back on his search.
The turmoil was quite a bit for him and he knew he needed to figure out what to do soon. A light sigh left his lips as he finally finished making several new bandages. Now standing up he picked up his rather big pearl and started to walk off to see if there was anything else he could do. However before he got far his eyes landed on something he saw which made him heavily curious. Hugging his pearl close he went over and approached several small, rock things that he saw were talking to Otto. Well one was talking, two others ran off and soon so did another. Feeling curiosity take over him he walked over to the one that went to a man he hadn't seen before.
Gulping as he approached he gave a very meek smile. "U-Um h-h-hello." He said softly to the man before pointing at the golem. "What's that? I-I'm s-sorry if I-I'm su-suppose to know already. B-But I h-haven't seen th-things l-like them before." He looked as nervous as he sounded and honestly he was ready to bolt at a moments notice. He wasn't sure who this person was but he was really hoping he was a good guy since he was in the campe afterall
Ember remained on one knee for a moment longer before taking heed of Adrianne's advice and wordlessly rising to her full height again. In comparison to most of the people gathered there, she ranked among the taller ones with her slender yet lean build.
Her eyes stayed lowered, glancing at the small spirits with the slightest raise of her eyebrows before she lifted her gaze to the people around her. Fixing on the Priestess with a questioning look. She had never met many priests and priestesses in her lifetime and, certainly, not one so young. Recalling that only moments before, the young girl had addressed her as a lady and a knight, Ember replied in a voice devoid of any threat, anger or annoyance.
"Priestess Arianne,"
she started, meeting the girl's gaze with her own, "Though I am honoured, you need not give me such high a title. I am merely Ember, a girl with nothing to her name."
Turning her attention to Prince Ward, the firebird gave him and Leandra a slightly curious look at the mention of "Gryphon." She had not been told much about His Majesty so, until further informing, she would have to slowly piece together bits of knowledge about him herself. At the moment, she had to assume that he could turn into a gryphon. Whether by power or by race, she had yet to find out.
For a second, Ember pondered how she would speak to him which included in what tone, register and diction. Considering the advice from those who appeared to be friends of His Majesty and how they behaved around him, she attempted to be more casual.
"It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintence, Prince...Ward," Ember started rather awkwardley, unaccustomed to addressing Royalty in such a casual manner. "Though I am young and inexperienced... I pray you will accept me as your Guardian and Protector."
Hearing the sound of banging drums and a trumpet, Ariella jumped slightly as her gaze shifted from Mister Stone Leaves towards the plains ahead. Turning her body to straightly to look ahead, Ariella gasped softly, looking at the far and wide plains. Just beyond there, adventure was waiting for her and Sir Tumnus. She couldn't wait to explore and see what else Fablewood had to offer. However, feeling a glare turning sharper, Ariella felt shivers tingling up and down her back and arms as she slowly turned around to take a look at Sir Tumnus. Seeing his darkened expression as he slowly made his way towards her, he harshly whispered, "You are not suppose to run off like that! What did I tell you? He could have harmed you and you would have lost your life! I told you many times, little one, stay by my side and don't wander off!" As Sir Tumnus was scolding her, Ariella shrank slightly whenever his voice raised a littler higher with each sentence he spoke, but more than that, seeing his angered yet worried expression made her feel a little at unease with herself. She didn't like people worrying or fussing over her, it did make her feel welcomed and accepted, plus. . cared for, but she just didn't want Sir Tumnus worrying over her when there's more important matters he has to think about. And that was the Battle that she had overheard him speaking to his troops about. It worried her to know that the fight for peace in Fablewood would require. . violence and the sorts, but how could she aid them when she had no experience? Maybe there was something more she could do since she didn't want to be a burden. However, she did remember in many fables there were battles that needed to be fought and won. But during the time of the battle, how were they able to remain determined and headstrong? It was one of the main reasons why Arielle absolutely loved the stories she read of the heroes and heroines. They were courageous and brave, perhaps not at first, but as time passed on. Maybe she was the same way. "I'm sorry, Sir Tumnus. . I didn't mean to . . it's just I saw Mister Stone Leaves here and he was quite the sight to see! I couldn't believe my eyes and wanted to take a closer look to make sure I'm not dreaming. He doesn't seem like he'd harm me, if he wanted to he could've but he didn't." Ariella tried to convince him, letting him know that it would had been okay and at the same time her curiosity wasn't something to be tamed. Sir Tumnus only sighed in response, feeling himself getting older by the minute being around this human child.
Soon, Ariella's attention went back towards Ty and the birds, hearing them tweeting for a while before realizing she and Sir Tumnus had been around, Ariella hope she hadn't scared the birds nor the creature in front of her. However, hearing their conversation, Ariella could slightly understand what was going on from how Ty responds. As Ty spoke in third person, Ariella couldn't help but find it absolutely adorable to hear! He reminded her of a big teddybear, cuddleable, and very friendly. Perhaps like the Iron Giant, though mixed with the sweetness of a baby's mind and action. Giggling softly, Ariella smiled brightly as she beamed when Ty responded to her in a friendly manner. Hearing the stones creaking together made her ears tingle and slightly ache, but she ignored it as Ty knelt down before her. Ariella extended a hand,
"Hi, Ty! It is nice to meet you. You like to see things? What kind of things? Is it out there? Oh! And you shake my hand, it is a way of greeting someone, well, where I am from." Soon, Ariella pointed towards the Far Plains once more, to ask if the Plains is what he was looking at. However, at the mention of her name being called individually, Ariella giggled once more before shaking her head. "I think you mixed us up, Ty. I am a human, see?" At the words "human", Ariella stood between Ty and Sir Tumnus, showing him that she doesn't have hooves like Sir Tumnus and her skin isn't so rocky. "I am called Ariella, you called the birds by my name. I think they had their own, but I am unsure of what they are called, Ty. You are Ty and I am Ariella. I do not know what you are called. . but you are not a dark monster, at least. . that is what I think. " She said softly and patiently, hoping Ty could understand what she meant, but seeing the confusion on the giant's face, Ariella shrugged her shoulders, laughing light-heartedly. He seemed sweet, especially seeing how he was being careful to not let the bird's nest fall from his shoulder.
Seeing that Ty knew about hair, Ariella looked up as he showed her the mosses and watched his stubby-like giant fingers caress them. Nodding as she gave him a thumbs up, Ariella grinned,
"Yes! Your hair is beautifully green, Ty." At sudden cough, Ariella looked behind, seeing Sir Tumnus signaling that they must move on. Feeling sadden, Ariella looked back towards Ty, "Ty. . . I have to go now. . there is somewhere I must be and it is across the Plains." Sighing, Ariella approached Ty a little more before she gently placed her small hand on Ty's large thumb and hugged him. "I will miss you. I wanted to talk to you more. Especially since I want to show you more things as well, because you like seeing." As she stepped back and Sir Tumnus and the rest of the fawns were approaching, they walked ahead first leaving Ariella to say good-bye and leave Ty behind. However, as she took a step, she paused before an idea popped into her head, "Wait! That is it! Ty, would you like to come with us? The more the merrier and there is a lot of things you can see!" She suggested, jumping up and down on her toes only to hear a slight hiss from Sir Tumnus. "Please? Can he come with us? All of Fablewood's good creatures are coming, right? I do not see why Ty can not come, I see that he is good." Ariella persisted, wanting to bring Ty with her, her new found friend, he could also bring his three birds if he wished! Ignoring Sir Tumnus' protest as he ended up giving up on telling her that Ty can not, he defeatedly said, "Fine, little one, but we make haste. We are late." Nodding gleefully, Ariella went over and laid a hand on Ty's thumb's once more, seeing that his thumbs were literally almost a hand bigger than her own hands. "Come on, Ty ! You can come with us! We are heading to the camp at Northern Edge of the Far Plains." She said cheerfully as she let go of his thumb and walked in front of him, humming as she went. "This is so exciting! I wonder what else is out there for us, what do you think, Ty? What do you want to see? Maybe more creatures?"
As Sir Tumnus and the fawns led the way, Ariella followed behind, hoping Ty would also come with them to the camp as well. They passed through more forest of the Western Woods and soon made it out and towards the Far Plains of the Northern Edge. Ariella could hear loud noises up ahead as they were nearing the meeting site. Soon, they arrived and they were a few feet away as Ariella could see the many different tents, the set-up, the many, amazing, fairy tale creatures, and much more! The sun was beating down upon her as she took a deep breathe, trying to stop her erratic heartbeat from falling out of her chest. As they approached the camp, Ariella's eyes widenened in amazement at her surroundings, not sure where to look first.
"Ty! Ty! We are here! Sir Tumnus! We are here!" She yelled out in front of her and behind her, showing her enthusiastic excitement.
Ty stared at the girl for a moment as she seemed rather pleased that he had responded in a calm manner. With her extended hand, Ty looked at his own. He clasped his pointer finger and thumb onto hers and shook it slowly. The shake would go a little too low or high but he was happy enough with this action to change his eyes yellow for a moment. Human talk fast. It makes Ty think more. Ty not sure what Ty wants to see. Ty hasn't seen anything yet since Ty just woke up in tower... Ty swore Ty was less green though. Ty is confused though by you. You said Ty called Birds: By, My, and Name. Ty called them Chirp, Tweet, and Peep before they wanted to be called Ariellia, Elizabeth, and hope. Ty does find it funny you are named after Ariellia! Ty stood tall once more as he cast a shadow upon the folk of the land. Ty not sure what Ariellia mean by Dark Monster. Ty is stone though. He however was taken back by the fawn's facial expression and haste to get somewhere. It made him uncomfortable.
O-Oh... His eyes turned a dark blue. Ty guess Ty will see human Ariellia some other time then. Maybe then Ty can be shown things by Arillia. He watched as Ariellia and the fawns started to depart. His arms hung out in front of him as he turned his heads to the birds. Ty doesn't understand. Why Chrip, Elizabeth, and name not have places to go like Ariellia? Chirp, Elizabeth, and name just hang out on shoulder like it is nothing. The small peeps and chirps came from them again as they started yelling towards a tree. He looked up to see two birds glaring at the beast. Oh! I thought you wanted to go to plains. That makes more sense. He took the nest from his shoulder and extended it towards the branch for it to rest on. I guess Ty will see Ariellia, Tweet, and Hope later. He said as he started to stomp off somewhere. He was stopped shortly into his walk. He saw Ariella jumping up and down rather happily like she was given a present. He started giggling as he tried to mimic the movements of her. Ty can follow human Ariella! Ty doesn't know what a camp is but it sounds fun!
He made his way out of the forest as he slowly trailed behind Ariella and the fawns. The soft earth of the fields slowed him down more than normal but he still managed to get around. The noises grew louder as he approached with the group. It must have been a sight for the camp seeing a human escorted by fawns with a hulking stone golem behind them. Though Ty didn't know of his nature, he better hope the camp doesn't have dark magic detectors all around. If they did, they would sound off sooner or later due to what binds him to the body. Ty find camp interesting. It is very loud! Much louder than forest area.
Ward read the recognition and then confusion in Ember's eyes but before he could react she knelt before him.
"Please," he said, feeling more than a little awkward. "I want no formalities at all." He glanced at Leandra and grinned. "At this point, even 'Birdbrain' is preferable!"
When Leandra mentioned his first flights he waved his hand in a mock-important gesture. "But I've always landed perfectly." A lie, but a visible one. It was a good tell his spirits had been lifted.
Ward summoned a soft green glow to his hand. He had seen Ember rub her back discretely, but her pain didn't escape his notice. He took her hand, his healing ability making the pain evaporate.
"Just call me Ward...I'm not used to being a prince."
Leandra's teasing comment about his new bodyguard made him shoot her a playful glare. "Just you remember who is teaching you to fly."
Ember's request had caught him off guard. She was requesting to be his protector? In his mind he had been formulating an argument for his mother, even for Briar on why he did not need protecting, but hearing her tone, she seemed eager to prove herself, perhaps even a little critical of herself. Ward found himself struggling to deny her.
"I...I would be honored." He sounded resigned but there was a calm smile on his face.
Kallin just laughed at the winged human girl. "Nope! Can't read a single emotion on my face." He took her teasing in stride, unfazed, or at least pretending to be. When the attention shifted off him he heard Luness' question and turned to her. He may not have been able to blush, but his stammering more than gave him away.
"What? Well, I..." He coughed, "Hey! What are those!" Kallin caught sight of the golems, standing in a line behind the new comer.
"Fascinating, I haven't seen this type of animation magic before."
As Leia caught sight of Leo she broke into a broad grin. "Hey Leo! Hi Takeo!" She said happily, adding Takeo into the greeting as she caught sight of him. "How goes the riding practice?" She chuckled at his one-man debate about how to address their mutual friend. "I dunno if we need to go adding "general" to your name, we're still friends, formalities are for other people."
Then her eyes fell down to the little golem tugging on Leo's fur. "Awwww! He's adorable!" Leia knelt beside the golem while her spirits watched from behind her. "Hey little guy!"
The guards at the northern entrance to the camp looked uneasy as the strange metal, half-serpent man appeared before them.
"Halt! State your business here." One of them said, their spears were lowered. For all intents and purposes the man looked very much like one of Caraboss' minions. They felt right to be suspicious.
@forgefan
It was then Briar caught Ward's eye and nodded to him. It was time for him to select the ones who would accompany him on the first leg of their quest.
Ward excused himself politely from Ember's side and stepped in front of the red tent entrance.
"Good warriors of Fablewood, first of all I thank you for making the journey here, and agreeing to fight at our side. As you know the dark armies are marching, and we must find out how to defeat the witch who leads them...and we must do it soon. I will be taking a small team with me to uncover more about the artifact we have in our possession. I ask you now, who will come with me?"
Kallin had spoken with Ward and Briar before. He would be staying. His magic would be invaluable in keeping Caraboss' forces at bay and his knowledge on the arcane would help them predict how Caraboss would use her own magical forces. In addition, Luness would be staying with her pack, who would be here. That for him, was reason enough.
