Tetsugaya High:Beating the Ranks

Lu Chu felt very awkward, it wasn't helping the fact that they would occasionally brush shoulders or she could hear him quietly muttering to himself. He probably thought that she was boring or jerk and was just helping her because he felt complied to since he and her bumped into one another.

The teacher soon walked in and began lecturing, the senior class quickly began to take down their notes. But, some of the students were quietly whispering about how they horridly embarrassed a scholarship student. For many of the wealthier students, they found their favorite past time to be torturing the scholarship and poor students.

Lilly looked her shoulder at Chin Ho and smirked before flipping her hair over her shoulder and returned to her conversation with Fang Hua, who was giggling happily while Mika was smiling and paying close attention.

Once they reached Lu Chu's homeroom. Leo smiled.

"Well, looks like this is where I leave you....." He said.

Jessica eyed a group of kids talking about Avery, Leo, and Levi. She sent them dark glares. Upon feeling someone staring at him. One of the guys in the group turned around and upon seeing Jessica's ice cold glare he turned around and hushed his friends. Jessica smirked and returned her attention to her teacher.

Chin Ho continued to watch Lilly with curiosity until suddenly, his eyes went wide.

"OH! Oh! Oh....."

" Thanks ", Lu Chu whispered as she took her books and gave him a shy smile with her cheeks flushed a bright, scarlet color. She hesitantly, but quickly, pecked him on the cheek before scurrying into her class.

While teaching about hierarchy, a student piped up. " Back then, wasn't the punishment of lying about your ranking death or imprisonment? ", she asked. The teacher replied, " In some societies. But, in others it was humiliation, damnation, and the burden to hold the disappointment and shame on the shoulders of the descendants ".

" Hey, did you guys hear? ", Hyorin asked with wide eyes, " Veronica Dewford lied about her ranking. I feel terrible for her because she kept saying that she was a Royal, but was actually a commoner. Half of the school just bullied her right now and she transferred out just this morning ". Fang Hua, Lilly, and Mika looked surprised by the news, they liked Veronica since she was always so nice.

Levi's eyes went wide. His face reddened as he hurried to his homeroom. Once there he sat in the back with Krystal, Jessica, Avery, and Levi. Levi raised an eyebrow at Leo.

"What's up with your face?" He asked. Leo raised an eyebrow at Levi.

"What do you mean?" Avery have Leo and wide smirk but Leo ignored her. Levi looked from his brother to Avery.

"What is going on?" He asked Avery. Avery shook her head.

"Ask your brother."

" Veronica Dewford would count as one to be damned ", a student stated, " She not only lied about her ranking, but had the audacity to lie to our faces and even the teachers about it. She lied on her registry to the academy. I bare no remorse for her being kicked out and bullied ". The teacher frowned, " Now, Veronica Dewford is not a good example for she is modern and we do not give out such punishments, Mr. Valdez ", she told him, but Jamie Valdez only smirked and gave a high five to his best friend, Dominique Lorenzo.

Jessica glared at the two. How could people be so materialistic. She was about to give them a piece of her mind when Krystal laid a hand on her shoulder. She whispered to her.

"Don't Jess, they're not worth it." Jessica huffed.

"They're ignorant, stuck up, spoiled, ass holes.....Ugggh people like them make me sick." She growled.

" Either way, she lied to not only us but her own friends ", another girl added on, " Who does that anyway? Lie because you want something and think you deserve it so you just choose to make up some sort of fib so that people like you? That's low ". The teacher hushed the students as they began to rant and argue. Lu Xun, Tai, Jung Hwa, and Ai Min just watched from their spots in the class, they wouldn't interfere yet.

Smirking, Lilly looked over her shoulder, ignoring the blush on her cheeks. ' Finally, the idiot gets it ', she thought to herself with an eye roll before looking back at Fang Hua and Mika who were giggling about something with Lau, Lou, and Hyorin.

Jessica growled hearing them go on and on about this poor girl who just wanted to fit in. If Krystal wasn't holding her back she would have had their asses handed to them. Avery looked down at her lap as the people were talking about this Veronica girl. Boy did that story sound familiar.

Chin Ho blushed. Well how was he going to confront Lilly now?

" Enough ", the teacher ordered, " As punishment, you all will be required to write about how your family's companies came to be and it will be presented. Then we'll see what dirty secrets you all have. Keep in mind that the school holds records of your family business that was attached along with yourselves ". The class erupted into snickering and groans, while others were already straight ahead in their work.

Their teacher walked in and began a lecture that everyone was taking notes on. He went on about how some companies arrange marriages between the offspring of big owners in order to earn more company and gain more power.

Jessica sighed.

"Idiots..." She mumbled under her breath. Krystal rolled her eyes.

Chin Ho sighed and watched the teacher but his mind was else where. "How am I going to talk to Lilly? What do I say to her? Shit....I didn't think I would get this far....." He thought to himself.

As the students began to write about their wealth and achievements, some students, especially those who weren't that wealthy, were a little stuck on how to present their essays. If they were to be read, then it would be absolute suicide for them, the Monarchs and Nobles would have an endless group of fresh victims.

Lu Xun, Hime, Tai, Ai Min, and Jung Hwa were easily writing their essays, their thoughts being written easily down onto a piece of lined, college ruled paper. It was very simple for them.

Lu Xun being the heir of the Eu Min Group, which is more than already internationally famous and highly requested for trading and business deals. The Eu Min family is practically set for the rest of their lives. It helped that a company, owned also by the Eu Min Group, known as The Sakurai Company, is also internationally famous for opening and owning multiple of high end hospitals, pharmacies, medical centers, as well as also owning hotels, resorts, spas, etc. His family does a little of everything and anything.

Hime is the heiress of the Li Group, which is although not as rich and successful as the Monarchs, her family makes enough to be deemed as Noble blood. Her family specializes in environmental advances, as well as also managing the stability of various economic growths and they deal with also how money is distributed among countries, towns, cities, and villages.

Tai easily could write about the Kaneko Group which is just as famous as the Eu Min Group. His family has trillions of trillions of dollars in bank accounts. He could quit school and still be able to not have to work a single day in his entire life. But, that would make everything way too easy. The Kaneko Group runs secret service, police squads, free runners, etc. It's almost like a ninja warrior elite team.

Ai Min is another Monarch who is set for life. She holds future ownership of the Chinese Badminton team, which she will inherit for her own mother. As well as will inherit the Park Group, from her father's side. As a dedicated and obedient daughter raised in a traditional family, Ai Min knows how to handle people and also how to control a company.

Jung Hwa is the heir of the Ahn Corporation, just like his friends, he is set for life. His family's corporation makes from a billion to a trillion dollars a year, if not monthly. The company handles entertainment such as music, acting, modeling, fashion designing, etc. As well as also handling sport related activities and competitions.

Although Victor isn't insanely rich or even barely rich, he will proudly call himself a pauper and that he works for his mother at her 5 star restaurant. He has no fear, he's content with his life and wouldn't change a single thing about it.

Jessica sighed as she wrote down the history of her family's wealth and all that stuff she didn't care much about at all. Her parents insisted that she take over the corporation but Jessica refused and handed it off to her twin siblings to fight over. Jessica wanted more. She wanted her own success. She didn't want an already successful business. She wanted to come to it on her own. That was exactly what she was going to do.

After about half an hour of writing, the teacher clapped their hands together to signal that it was presenting times. " All right, I want at least four from this supposed category you kids have going on around these days. Four from the Monarchs, four from the Noble, four from the Paupers, and four from the Untouchables! ".

Jessica sighed and sat back in her seat. There was no way she was going up there, and her friends felt the same. None of them were going to go up and talk about useless things such as rank.

Multiple of people spoke up, talking about their families and how they grew up. Some had confessed that they weren't a certain rank, which earned glares from others but respectful looks from some of their classmates. The teacher was proud that some were confessing, but disappointed that not everyone was reading. " All right then, now you will switch papers with someone YOU DO NOT KNOW, so that they can read your paper ", the teacher emphasized Do Not Know. Groans and mutters erupted through the class at the announcement.

Fed up with teaching, the teacher said, " Yeah... I'm tired now. So for the last half hour of class, feel free to talk ". Those were the magic words. Almost instantly the Junior class was talking nonstop and enjoying having a free day thanks to a very lazy teacher.

Jessica dropped her head onto her desk. "You have got to be kidding me." She mumbled to herself. Krystal flicked Jessica's head.

"Sit up you dork." Jessica sighed and sat up. Avery bit her lip and looked around. She did not want anyone to read her paper. It would not go over well...

Ai Min looked over at Avery with a smile. Gracefully, she stood up and walked over to the lip biting girl and held her cursive written paper out in front of her. " Hello, Avery. I know we are friends, but I would like to know you better. Can we switch essays? ", she asked. From the back of the class, Victor had shouted to Avery, " Don't believer her! She and Jung Hwa were gonna switch essays until the teacher said that they couldn't! ". His tone was laced with playfulness.

Avery looked up at Ai Min and blushed lightly.

"Um, sure..." She said, holding out her paper to Ai Min. Her hand writing was far more messier than Ai Min's. Avery took Ai Min's paper and set it on her desk nervously. "Please don't read it aloud...." She thought to herself.

Ai Min's eyes scanned the words scribbled across the lines before she stared at Avery with surprised eyes. But then, she smiled and handed Avery back her paper.
