Testing Humanity (1x1) [Telios and SaphireTsuki)

[Telios]

Telas slept soundly although his breathing was rough.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

Selena, now finished with the pasta-like meal, walked over to check on Telas, a bag of ice in her hand if he was too hot. She looked worried, and put her hand over his forehead.

 

[Telios]

Telas was hotter than usual, his fever barely going down.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

She frowned, placing a rag over his head and putting the ice on top of it, hoping that it would help a little bit with his pain. "I'm sorry, Telas..."

 

[Telios]

"It's fine..." Telas mumbled in his sleep.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

Surprise caused her to pause in her movements, did he just... answer her? A shake of her head, she must have been going mad, and she returned to the kitchen, putting Telas' meal on a plate and wrapping it up, placing it in the microwave for later, and wrote him a note about it.

 

[Telios]

Telas woke up a while later, sitting up on the couch. He yawned loudly and looked around.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

Selena had finished her meal and was working on something in a book, scribbling away at paper on a nearby desk, head bent over it and light low so as to not wake Telas.

 

[Telios]

Telas stood up and walked over to Selena. "Hey..." He said with a tired smile, standing behind her.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

A tired blink, she hadn't really expected him to wake up so soon. "Hey. How're you feeling? Any better?" He might not be feeling better, but he hoped so. The writing had stopped, page filled with scribbles and diagrams, a textbook laying next to it.

 

[Telios]

"I'm a bit better... I guess..." Telas answered, rubbing the back of his neck with one of his hands. His fever cooled down slightly.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

Selena smiled at him, one hand moving to rub her forehead, "I'm glad. There's some food in the microwave for you, if you're hungry."

 

[Telios]

"Thanks..." Telas headed to the kitchen and started to heat up the food. When it was done, he took it out and started to eat. The fever was normal for him but strangely Selena's warmth hadn't faded away yet...

 

[SaphireTsuki]

Selena almost sighed, but shook her head to prevent it. Now wasn't the time to be obsessed with Teals, she was studying. Another head to her forehead, yup she was quickly growing tired, but she had to finish this. Otherwise she'd not be able to meet Telas' face in the morning.

 

[Telios]

Telas soon finished his meal and walked out after washing the dish. "Need any help...?" He asked as he walked over.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

'No, it's ok. This is just..." How to explain? Well, she had to say the truth, so... "It's just a bit of work I have to do for a class I'm in online." He wasn't in it, so he shouldn't worry about it.

 

[Telios]

"What is it about...? I might be some help for you..." Telas said, offering his help.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

"We're studying the anatomy of other races." A sheepish smile at him, "I don't know much about human anatomy, to be honest, save it's similar to our own. I have to write a paper on the differences..."

 

[Telios]

"I guess I can help you then... We have to learn all of that before college..." Telas took a chair and sat down next to Selena.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

"Ok... umm, I know about the ridges and humans not having them, but... why all the different hair and eye colors?" It had always confused her, to be honest. They were all one people, so why be so different?

 

[Telios]

"That..." It was a long time ago but Telas still remembered this. "We have different genes from each other..."

 

[SaphireTsuki]

"Genes? As in... your basic genetic codes are different?" An interesting thing to note. That their genes, even cosmetically, would differ... "Wow. That's a big difference, alright."

 

[Telios]

"Yup... Hair color... Eyes'... Skin's... Body type..." Telas continued.

 

[SaphireTsuki]

A slight shimmer entered her eyes at that, "So... anything about your bodies can change based on your genes? It must have been wonderful meeting so many different people. I mean, our body types differ too.... but, well, not to the amount of yours." She had taken out a new paper and was writing notes as he continued to talk. If she wanted to be a doctor she had to learn a lot, after all...

 

[Telios]

"Every species is different from each another...." Telas smiled warmly.
