Testing Faith [Closed]

Cian smirked at Nadine when she bared her fangs. “Oh did I make pet mad?” He mocked her, shoving his hands in his pockets.

“Poor little kitty cat should learn how to control her temper. Though, it would certainly make for more fun in the bed… So never mind about that. Just keep being the feisty little pet you are and keep me entertained.” He said with a smirk before his eyes flickered past her to the other young woman.

When Nadine was brought into a hug he wondered just who the other woman was. Was this the one who’d been on the phone with her before when he left her? What was she doing here now? How in the world did she get there so fast?

‘Must be another little vampire in this town.’ He thought watching as Mika fussed over Nadine.

Mika winced. “Sorry Nadine. Hugging you again probably wasn’t the best idea.” She said with a sheepish grin.

“I saw two of them actually.” Cian interrupted. “They were walking to the hotel room. I caused a few distractions that would run them around but I’m sure they’re smart enough to have gotten past it. If anything…” He sniffed the air for a few seconds. “They’ll be walking past us in maybe five minutes tops. So hiding pet here would be the best bet if you don’t want to be attacked again.”

His eyes then flicked over to Michael and a growl ripped from his throat when he saw the bag of salt. Mika’s eyes flew over to Cian, darkening as she snarled at the demon. She hissed at Nadine when the vampire pulled away but said nothing, staying still. She rolled her eyes at Mike’s use of wording and grit her teeth when he spoke of being with her.

She glared back at Nadine, not wanting to lost this fight. “He was for the demon which I assume is him.” Mika explained, pointing at Cian who had taken interest in a couple a few meters away. He was whispering under his breath, sending persuasive words into the young man’s mind to cause just a bit of chaos. He stopped when he heard Mika and grinned. “You got that right pretty kitty.”

Mika growled. “That is not my name! You will refrain from calling me as you please.” She then turned to Nadine, “I swear, once we get rid of those damned hunters I’m killing him. Regardless of it you want me to or not.” She then glanced back at Mike. “Sorry you had to hear the sin I’m going to do but there’s no way you’re stopping it."

Nadine glanced to Cian when he mentioned seeing two of them, and creating some distractions. She gave a nod, pleased with that, before she let her attention return to Mika and this man with the salt. “Yes, this is the demon,” Nadine confirmed, and took another step back, closer to the demon, “And I’m afraid if that is your intent, then I will be moving out, and you can go handle the hunters in the meanwhile.”

Nadine had no intention of letting Mika or Cian be killed—and honestly she wasn’t even sure who to bet on.

Mike sighed, “We could just send him back to hell,” he looked over Nadine once, “There’s no contract in place. There’s nothing holding Cian here.” Which meant it wouldn’t be difficult for him to exorcise the demon. Not as difficult as if the demon were actually bound in contract to someone. “There’s no need for murder.”

“What’s your name?” Nadine asked him.

“Michael Fierro.”

“Try that and I’ll find out every piece of information on you to make you suffer.”

Michael blinked, surprised, finding that was not the reaction he wanted. “Nadine, there are other ways—”

But Nadine started to walk off, not wanting to encounter more hunters, and not interested in dealing with Mika when all she was going to do was act like a child and not even consider what a boon a demon could be. She made a motion for Cian, though she supposed the Father was right on one thing—there wasn’t anything holding Cian here, if no official contract was in place. ‘Which would, technically speaking, mean I needn’t go on to hell with him.’ Apparently, a contract was something immediately noticeable, for one that knew how to look, as she suspected this Michael knew how to look or else Mika wouldn’t have gone to him.

Mika growled at the affirmation of the very handsome man being the very reason they would have a stain in their relationship.

“What the hell Nadine?” Mika hissed. “Seriously? You would much rather live with a demon who most likely isn’t going to do a damn thing for you than with your best friend for how long? I’m pretty sure I know what I mean when I say you shouldn’t be near him.”

“She’s very stubborn,” Cian said to Nadine, his eyes never leaving Mika. “And feisty. Just like you. Except you’re a little more badass in a way.”

“Shut it.” Mika snapped at the demon who grinned, putting his arms up in ‘surrender’ just like Michael had done.

Mika looked back at Michael when he spoke and nodded curtly. “Sending him back works too I guess. I really want him dead though. That way he has no chance of coming back here to bother my land, my people….Well- Not all of the people in here. Those I deem fit will suffer.” She shrugged, glancing back at Mike.

Mika watched Nadine carefully, the scowl on her face seeming to deepen with each word that came out of both her and Mike.

“You touch Michael and there truly will be a problem going on between us Nadine.” Mika spoke, her voice cold as her eyes seemed to flash with anger. “You know he’s right in this!”

She watched Nadine turn away and groaned, stomping her foot on the ground. “Nadine!”

Can stood in place, looking at Nadine with a grin. Was their relationship deteriorating this fast? Because of him? He hadn’t even truly done anything yet! A smirk came to his face as he turned to Michael, giving him a mock salute. “Good luck with that salt. It won’t be used on me. However if you feel the need to try and use it while my back is turned I won’t hesitate to retaliate and I promise you even after death you won’t be making your way up to heaven. Got it bud?” He asked mockingly, widening his eyes just a bit and giving a look as if he were talking to a child.

He then turned to Mika and winked. “Once I’m finished with your friend there, you might be next.” He did a 180 and sauntered over to where Nadine was walking, it only taking a few steps for him to be by her side. He waved a hand in the air. “See you later alligators!”

“Nadine, don’t you dare walk away from this. This conversation is not over!” Mika yelled at her, taking a few steps forward.

Michael was not intimidated by the demon. He knew too well those words were false. The demon couldn’t claim his soul if it was heaven-bound, or even purgatory-bound, as was more likely the case. “You might trick them but you won’t trick me,” he said as the demon’s eyes widened, implying the priest’s lower intelligence.

He wasn’t that easy to intimidate.

Nadine didn’t blame Cian for this, but rather Mika’s unshakeable hatred and grudges. If she had known Michael was a cleric, she might have reconsidered walking away immediately, but that fact was still unknown. As it was, she kept walking even when Mika yelled at her and insisted the conversation wasn’t over.

She just called back, “It was over the second you decided your only option was to get rid of Cian,” through murder or through exorcism. “Besides, there are hunters around. Best not to talk in the open anyway.” She knew Mika wouldn’t let her walk away that easily, and she was heading back towards their home to back their things. Conversation and screaming matches were always easier to carry out indoors.

Under her breath, Nadine spoke to Cian, “And later we’ll have a talk about this unofficial business,” she sounded none too pleased that the demon apparently wasn’t bound to fulfill his duty. She did trust what the stranger had to say, in spite of herself.

Michael walked hesitantly up to Mika’s side, and gave her a look, asking what she wanted to do in this situation.

Cian glanced back at Michael and couldn’t help but grin. “I’m going to enjoy bothering you.” He spoke, licking his teeth and biting them. His eyes trailed over to Mika and he winked, knowing it would bother her. He then turned, following after Nadine casually. He shoved his hands in his pocket, his focus on the two being them now gone.

Nadine fumed but instead of screaming back a Nadine, she took a deep breath. Nadine was right. If there were hunters then there certainly wasn’t any good reason for them to be arguing out in th public like this.

“You want to talk in the house?” Nadine asked softly, a wide smile on her face. “Then we won’t talk now. But I swear to you Nadine, the moment I step into that damn house your ass is mine.”

She turned back to Michael, her eyes cold though she still had the smile on her face. “Let’s go. I’m going to be needing your help with this one. I apologize. It was never supposed to go this far but as you can see she’s a stubborn little bitch.” She sighed. “She’s going to regret it. I know she is. The question here is whether or not I’ll help her out the moment it goes wrong.”

Cian hummed happily, a grin coming to his face at Nadine’s words. “Talk? Oh but pet, I don’t like talks… They get boring. Why not have some fun? At least take me to a club if you want a talk.” He taunted, smirking at her. He did take note of her tone but it didn’t bother him. He doubted that she’d do anything anyway.

Mika stared at the retreating couple with a frown. "Nadine makes me want to hurt her. Doesn't she know what she's doing? She knows what we've been through with things like this. Our history. Yet she's willing to throw it all off for him?!" She vented, not exactly caring that Michael was there. "I can't with this... I really can't." She sighed, running a hand through her hair before glancing at the man standing beside her. "... How much is it going to cost for you to continue with me all the way?"
