Upon taking the group to the outskirts of Atlanta, away from the infested city Harley decided to break the silence by placing a CD into the armoured car's CD player. As the music started she began to sing along.

She started to sing along to the music while Groot pitched in too, simply saying "I am Groot." somehow in tune to the music. Mirus rolled her eyes but smiled while Max leaned back in his chair, trying to get some sleep while Bishop began to sniff around the interior of the armoured car.

The Knights also decided to hum around to the beat while Darius mumbled some words. Grail, in the passenger seat just sat there quietly, smiling at the group.

Mirus sighed and leaned closer to Grail, whispering in her ear "We need a contingency plan for if things in Washington are tits up." She spoke "I don't want to tell the others, not now."

Isaac fell asleep almost immediately. He never had any time to sleep on the Sprawl. He occasionally mumbled things in his sleep. He said things like Nicole, Markers, or Ishimura. Crane on the other hand was wide awake. He was digging through his backpack and taking stock of his crafting supplies. Next to him layed a large sword that he occasionally fiddled with.

"What've you got?" Harley asked Crane with a smile as the music ended "Anything we can use to blow up some Walkers?"


"Good distraction too." Max added with a nod of his head "Any random bastards 'ill be drawn towards it. Spooks the hell outta Bishop though."

Crane nodded. "I can definitely blow things up." Explained Crane. "I've been able to make elemental homemade grenades. As for a distraction, I could always toss a few homemade firecrackers."

"Firecrackers are boring." Harley frowned


"Interstate eighty-five is blocked up." Mirus explained "Full of those buggers. It's like they're in a queue for One Direction tickets."


"One who?" Max asked


"It's better if you don't know. Early Twenty first century music may have given us Adel but...There's a lot of shit in between."


"Like a needle in a haystack." Max nodded in response "Got ya."


"I am Groot." Groot appeared to agree

Crane frowned at Harley in return. Crane looked out at the road ahead and at the walkers. "There's a lot ways to approach this. We could clear them out, make a distraction, go a different way, or even try to drive through them. What do you guys think we should do?" He asked.

"Clear them out?" Mirus asked "You mean charge at them and get eaten? No thanks. I don't want to become pudding."


"Oh my god." Max muttered, glaring at Harleen. A look of shock was in his eyes "I-I watched you die!"


"I don't think so." Harleen replied, shrugging "I'm pretty sure I would have remembered a space cowboy watching me die. It would have hurt."


"You had a boyfriend called The Joker. You said he was your puddin' until he died." Max explained


At the very mention of his name, Harleen's eyes were filled with anger and hatred, but also what appeared to be sadness. Mirus stopped the car and stepped into the back, sitting next to Harleen.


He's dead now. She began, speaking inside of Harleen's mind in a soft tone He can't hurt you anymore.


What about Lucy?" Harleen asked


Both of you are safe from him. It won't stop the rest of the Multiverse from kicking you up the arse but at least...


There's another him....One I spared... Do you think Max meant he watched another me die?





Mirus paused, taken aback by Harleen's words and turned to Max, checking to see if his story was genuine. Upon learning that he was telling the truth Mirus sighed before she began to speak. "The person you met was another Harleen."


"Shit." Max shook his head "Different Harley, different universe." He muttered to himself "I understand."


"It's Harleen." Harleen snapped


"Sorry if I brought up anything painful."


"You saw someone you thought was dead. You must've felt like that kid in the film where Bruce Willis was dead the whole time." Harleen shrugged, a smile returning to her face.


"I am Groot." Groot butted in


"Oh sorry, did I spoil the ending?" Harleen apologised


"She gave her life to save ours." Max lied, lowering his head.


"I really don't want to hear about it." Harleen stated "I'd rather become the pudding of these hungry zombies."


"Fine." Max sighed "I'd rather not talk about it...It was in case you were curious or somethin'." He turned to Mirus "So Beth, what's the plan?"


"How many firecrackers do you have Crane?" Mirus asked "This is the road we took into Atlanta, now it's crawling with these things."

"Clearing them out isn't that bad where I come from." Said Crane. He looked in his backpack. "Firecrackers are extremely easy to make and I get 8 firecrackers every time I make them. I got tons of them." Crane looked out at the road. "I can move fast. I'll get as many as I can to follow me then I can toss a few firecrackers to keep them busy. How does that sound?" He asked.

I got tons of them." Crane looked out at the road. "I can move fast. I'll get as many as I can to follow me then I can toss a few firecrackers to keep them busy. How does that sound?" He asked.

"How fast are you on a scale of one to ten?" Mirus asked curiously "One being a pensioner in the three hundred meters sprint, five being a dog chasing a rabbit down a hill and ten being a lawyer with a jetpack chasing an ambulance."


"I reckon I'ma six." Harley smiled


"So a regular lawyer chasing an ambulance?" Mirus asked "No. I don't want you being the bait."


"I reckon we're a seven." Max shrugged, gesturing to his robotic legs and to Bishop "Two lawyers chasing an ambulance on a horse full'a steroids." He chuckled, smirking.

Shiki was in a very peculiar situation. He was initially fighting some ghouls, togheter with Arcuied, in Tokyo, and all of a sudden a rift through space had opened. One thing led to another and now he was in a different city, not in Japan, which was full of zombies. He was confused, but he had no time to think. He had to get away from the zombies, which in truth weren't very different from ghouls.


''I sure hope Arcuied is ok'' he thought to himself, as he moved at supersonic speeds and slashed zombies left and right, in the process. As he ran away from the zombies and eventually lost sight of them, Shiki slowed down and eventually started to walk. However he saw an armoured car in the distance. He ran yet again, using the special movement technique of the Nanaya. He slowed down once he was alonside the moving vehicle and knocked on the window. He kept his speed at the same level as that of the car. ''Excuse me. I'd like some indications'' he said. A human who could keep up with a car was not normal. But after looking inside the vehicle Shiki could see that the people inside weren't what you'd call ordinary, especially Groot, so he didn't think they'd be that surprised.

Syeron helped Revan to his feet and attempted to reassure him again "Whatever they're planning we can kick their asses." She smiled "All it took to defeat Sideous was a change of heart."


On another side of the planet, the Knights of Camelot were beginning to withdraw. Ser Dougan took one final look at the scattered corpses of the Ultron Sentinels and sighed deeply.


"It's not over, is it?" Ser Ismay asked her


"This is yes, but I know that we will only encounter even larger threats as this war against darkness continues."

"I am Groot." Groot replied to the stranger


"Who are you?" Mirus asked suspiciously "How did you get here?"

Shiki looked at Groot with a confused look on his face. ''Umm...Pleased to meet you, Groot''. ''This tree sure is straightforwad'' he thought to himself. Shiki became more serious when Mirus asked about him. The woman was clearly suspicious of him, but it was understandable.


''I am Shiki Tohno, and I have no idea how I got here'' he said, calmly. He could feel the intent to kill from Max. ''I mean no harm. I merely wish to know where I am, and what is going on'' he added. He thought of himself as lucky. He at least found people who spoke Japanese, unaware of the fact that from their perspective, Shiki was speaking English.

Max kept his revolvers close to him "How did you get here?" He asked again in a stern tone "I'm willing to answer your questions after you answer ours. I'll ask again. How did you get here?"


"I'd say you do as the cowboy says, even if it was Beth who asked the question." Harley butted in


As Max questioned Shiki, Mirus tapped into his mind to see if his words were genuine. (I'll let you decide what she sees)

''Listen. I was fighting ghouls with my lov-...with someone, somewhere in Tokyo. Then a rift through space appeared, which engulfed me and now I am here. Nothing more, nothing less'' said Shiki, calmly. He could have moved at supersonic speeds and 'kill' the guy's guns before he could even attempt to use them, but he chose not to. He had no reason to be hostile. If Max wanted to shoot then Shiki would just dodge.


Once Mirius would have entered Shiki's mind, the first thing to come up would be his recent memories, the most recent being his fight with the ghouls, together with his girlfriend, Arcueid Brunestud. Mirius would experience first hand how Shiki views the world without his glasses, with numerous dots and lines, which look like cracks, everywhere, and how easy it is for him to cut through, or kill something. She'd get to see for the first time how fragile the world really is. Unfortunately the human mind was not made in such a way that it could perceive death without being gifted with great pain (headaches). If Shiki wouldn't have been a strong willed individual he would have gone insane by then. Other than that, withing his mind there were two great zones which where divided by the rest. One was engulfed in some sort of pink energy and represented everything that he thinks and feels regarding his beloved Arcuied. The other zone was filled with darkness, but something was still visible. A pair of blue, glowing eyes, which were like those of Shiki Tohno, but different in what they expressed. They were the eyes of a cold, merciless and sadistic assassin, the eyes of Shiki Nanaya. Nanaya actually stared at the representation of Mirius within Shiki's mind. ''No peaking'' he said on an ice-cold tone as he emited bloodlust.

Inside of Shiki's mind the representation of Mirus, still disguised as "Beth" took a single step away from Nanaya "Multiple personality, am I right?" She asked, folding her arms "I won't peek, if you really tell me what you're really doing here." She conjured an armchair for herself out of thin air and sat down, folding her left leg over her right "Something tells me you're a lot more than just a lost puppy."


Outside of Shiki's mind Max loosened the grip on his revolver and nodded before stepping out of the car with Bishop at his side. The dog approached Shiki and started to sniff him as Max folded his arms sternly, leaning back against the armoured car "He's only testing ya. Sometimes when I'm not sure about someone, my gut tells me to let Bishop 'ere be the judge." He explained with a cocky grin "If you're an asshole, he'll bark at ya. Simple enough. If that happens..." Max gestured to his revolver tucked into his belt "You better get outta here unless you want me to shoot your dick off of course." He chuckled


Bishop sniffed Shiki's legs and started to wag his tail, for the dog did not pick up upon Nanaya. It stepped away from Shiki and walked back towards Max who knelt down to scratch behind his ears. "Righy then." Max smiled, looking back up at Shiki "I'll be keepin' my eye on you but you're free to travel with us. Bishop ain't sure about you a hundred percent, but he don't see you as an asshole."


Harley studied Shiki as she too stepped out of the car "A bit well dressed for the apocalypse?" She asked "Yep. That's what's happened here. The world went a bit mad."

''Didn't the one outside already explain? Or better yet, didn't you already check it, before reaching this place?'' asked Shiki, on a mocking tone. He came out of the darkness, without taking his eyes off Mirus. He looked exactly like Shiki Tohno, but his facial expression was very different. He suddenly appeared right next to Mirus and ''cut'' her throat with a knife. ''Aw, if this was the physical world you would have died so quickly'' he said, while smiling sadistically. ''Hey, I cannot tell you more about the other one. But if you want to figure me out so badly, I'll let you have a taste'' he added, as he showed Mirus a few memories of Nanaya: how his clan got slaughtered, the corpses and blood on the ground, his proefficiency in killing, his inhuman physical skills, how he choped Arcuied in many pieces, and finally how it's like to see death, through the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. ''Did you like it?'' he asked, in a suave and calm manner, as if he was trying to seduce her. Suddenly, Nanaya felt restricted and was forced to retreat in the darkness. This was caused by Shiki Tohno's influence. Despite this, Shiki Tohno didn't realise that Mirus was within his mind. The only way he could have would have been if Mirus tried to communicate directly with him through telepathy.


''Apocalypse? Is that all there is to this Apocalypse? Zombies?'' asked Shiki, surprised. That might not have seemed as a normal human reaction, but Shiki couldn't help it. Compared to what he went through with Nero, Roa, or the Night of Wallachia, this wasn't so bad. He at least became more relaxed. ''Arcueid is probably fine. Something of this level wouldn't even kill her boredom'' he thought to himself, unaware of the fact that Mirus was reading his mind.
