Our world changed when the mightiest superhero, Superman, flew across the sky. He was our saviorβprotector of the cosmos, and the greatest American citizen. Under his leadership, Superman formed the Justice League, a coalition of the most powerful and dignified superhumans dedicated to safeguarding Earth. He brought together notable heroes such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and others who each brought their unique strengths to the collective effort. They have faced enemies from within and beyond our planet, standing as the ultimate line of defense against chaos and destruction. Over the years, they have done their rightful duty, not only serving the citizens of the United States of America but the world as a whole. Unfortunately, in the year 2023, our world was thrown into a state of unprecedented turmoil when Superman was met with a tragic demise at the hands of the monstrous Kryptonian, Doomsday. With Superman's absence came a gaping void in Earth's defenses, leaving the Justice League with an overwhelming struggle to hold against the tide of villainous forces that came washing in when the news of the death of their greatest champion rang throughout the cosmos.
Amid the chaos that ensued caused by the downfall of the Man of Steel, one narcissistic and shrewd government official seized the opportunity to exploit the US government and commission the immediate assemblage of what she calls Task Force Xβan unorthodox solution to the trying times our world was facing. Amanda Waller, the director of A.R.G.U.S., spent the past few years searching this planet for the worst of the worst. And like everything she does, she successfully found them. Metahumans who possess extraordinary powers, abilities, and skills. These are not your typical good-guy heroes who choose to save the day out of the kindness of their hearts. They are villains, criminals, con artists, and downright malicious people who are a threat to society. She believes this team of very bad people can do some good, like fight the next war or defeat the next Superman. Task Force X is being run covertly, non-attributed. Strictly need to know. And if they get caught, the government will throw them under the bus. The next war will be fought with these metahumans. Because God knows that Amanda is not the only one kicking up rocks looking for them.
This team is on standby to be deployed on high-stake operations that the Justice League cannot handle themselves. Led by the fiercely determined Rick Flag and monitored closely by Waller, the team will be forced through perilous terrain and face nightmarish adversaries. Each mission is built to test their resolve, forcing them to confront not only external threats but also their treacherous natures. The real question here is: will these delinquents be able to follow orders that will put their lives in danger? To save the world from those of their own nature? With controlled nano-tech bombs implanted in their necks and promised time off their sentences, only time will tell if Amanda Waller is a true visionary or a fraudulent, corrupt psycho who puts her needs before others.

Amanda Waller is a powerful political figure whose ruthless attitude has made her one of the most feared and respected people in the U.S. government. She is the director of A.R.G.U.S., a United States government organization, and she has ties to several espionage and law enforcement agencies. After the death of Superman, Waller decided to recruit a group of metahumans to complete high-risk missions named Task Force X. She retrieved these metahumans from Belle Reve, a prison facility used to contain metahuman criminals located in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, near St. Roch.

Richard Rogers Flag, Jr. is a U.S. Army colonel, special operations forces specialist, and the field leader of the A.R.G.U.S.-affiliated black ops team, Task Force X. Amanda Waller recruited Flag to be the leader of Task Force X due to him being an extremely skilled and experienced leader, with Waller even referring to him as "the finest special forces officer that the USA has ever produced."

Belle Reve is a prison facility used to contain metahuman criminals located in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, near St. Roch. It was chosen by Amanda Waller to serve as the headquarters of Task Force X. Belle Reve has been renovated by dozens of construction teams and has had high-tech security equipment installed to ensure that no single individual or company could compromise Belle Reve. Furthermore, the prison's function as a facility for metahuman criminals conveniently justified its highly advanced equipment and high-security profile.

The Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans, commonly known as A.R.G.U.S., is a United States government organization directed by Amanda Waller. A.R.G.U.S. is known to collaborate with the CIA and FBI in some instances and uses people with superpowers or otherwise impressive skills to make their ends, protect the country, and handle major threats.
The Team

Task Force X is a government-sanctioned expendable black-ops unit founded by Amanda Waller that enlists incarcerated supervillains to undertake high-risk, covert missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences. Normally, the team is only used when all the more conventional methods fail. Participants in Task Force X operations are promised reduced prison sentences should they succeed in their missions, but they are also implanted with nano-tech bombs in their necks as a precautionary measure to kill any member who tries to abandon the mission.

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read through my roleplay and for hopefully showing interest. Recently, with new superhero media such as The Boys and the announcement of the new Suicide Squad game, I have been craving a superhero-type role play. But with a twist. Solely focused on villains instead of the good guys. So, I took the time to create this role-play for not only me but for all DC/Marvel fans. Just to let it be known, you do not need to have any knowledge of these universes to join this role-play because I have pulled all the lore and summed it up into a Discord server for you all. Once again, thank you for reading and please make sure to also carefully read my rules!
rule one.
This role-play will have a Discord server to go along with it. Please make sure to have Discord before joining or do not join if you don't have one. I spent a lot of time working on the Discord server and it has all the lore and information you need to know. All rules and guidelines of RPN apply in the role-play, the Discord, and any threads I create for this role-play. Please abide by them and do not break any of them.
rule two.
This roleplay is 18+ due to the nature of this roleplay. There will be a dark and dangerous theme since it is based on villains and crimes. OC ages will range from 20 years old to 30 years old. Romance is condoned but will fade to black if it gets sexual. If you are of age but do not condone this type of content, do not join at all.
rule three.
This role-play is not first come, first serve. It will be application-based. You will know if your character is accepted when you receive a formal PM from me here on RpN with the link for the Discord server.
rule four.
This roleplay is also labeled semi-lit to literate. A few mistakes here or there are fine since we all make them but please, do not let it be in every single post. Please be able to post at least two to three paragraphs per post and per character. While writer's block is totally understandable, try to aim for two paragraphs but absolutely no one-liners or one-paragraph posts.
