Tales of Azura (1x1)

"I was much the same, save I've been traveling for this for about a month, but as we cannot enter this town I do know of another not three days travel in the forest." She told him, sitting down on the ground. "But we can commune on this more later. For now it is probably best if we make camp before the daylight fades completely." She was almost certain by the way her hair was darkening to look steadily closer to that of the night-sky's blue.

'' Yeah..we should!'' Zed said enthusiastically, he liked how she was nice to him, it was rare anyone was. He looked at her hair changing color, it was really strange but interesting at the same time. He immediately stop staring, he hated when people did that with his horns.

She noticed him staring, and immediately seized the chance to ask something which had been bothering her for a while. "Zedekaiah? Might I inquire as to why you and other mortal races are so interested in our hair and eyes? I understand it is rare, but do not quite understand the fascination."

''Well... I just find it really pretty, so the others probably think so too. Count yourself lucky, it's better then if they stared at it in disgust.'' Zedekiah said pointing at his horns while laughing. ''So where you wanna set camp? I actually know that place not too far, we could rent a room or something.'' he added grinning. It was the small bar with a few rooms on the top, it was spacious and pretty clean. He had passed the previous night there.

"I have no objections to your suggestion." She said, glancing at his horns thoughtfully. She got up from the ground, wiping off her kimono absently. "I do not know why you seem to think your horns are grotsque. They are rather proud-looking, and were placed there by whomever created your race for some reason, much like my wings, tails, and ears."

'' Oh, our creator. Long time has abandon us in these world and vanish.'' Zedekiah said with a thoughtful look. Castanics had a pretty long history if they looked at some history books. But most of them being told to kids too slept, they had lost faith in these suppose creators. Supposedly, they were created by Zuras , but she was sealed off by her some giant named Titus in the war against the giants, they were then offered to Lok, a fellow craftsman. He changed their name, and they served him until his fall. Since that time, the castanics have forged their own destiny, lived by their own dark code of honor, and carved out a place in history. Most castanics have spurned the gods entirely, believing them not to be worth the trouble they cause, and that those who depend upon the gods are too cowardly to seize their own destiny.

Saphire frowned, looking at him from where she stood. "That must be awful." Even though they served Lady Lunara, they never forgot the gift Lord Nocturne had given them, the dark-shaded tails and ears of the kyuubi, or it's meaning. They knew it was always their choice whether to live for their creators, no matter who had created them. And it was the love that went into this message which truly spurred them to serve their Lady, spreading the feeling to the world around them. It was why Saphire, who may have her own problems, was still serving her Lady, even through all she had seen. To not have that... she couldn't even imagine it.d

Zedekiah sighted, he wasn't much of a believer himself, but he was certain something was there to guide us. When he had told his father so, he only looked at him in disgrace and somehow pity, he would always associate him to his human mother, the reason why he was banished once he reached sixteen. Zedekiah walked on dirt road with many carriage and people riding their horses towards the city after their shift or to simply stroll around. He loved seeing so many cheerful people, they walked into the small village named Lumbertown, mostly miners and lumberjacks family lived there, it was quite homie and many markets were here. '' Ok, here we are'' he said stopping in front of a building named Auberge de Ludisse .

Saphire nodded, glad the darker shade of her hair had gotten less stares. She didn't want Zedekiah to be drawn off again. "This is a good village, all the inhabitants seem to be genuinely happy." She told him, nearly humming from all of the positive emotions around her. Ah, it was like being in her homeland again, harmony spreading across her mind and soul. Mayhap she would sing later, in praise of her Lady and the world. Auberge de Ludisse? She thought to herself, wondering what the strange words meant. "So this is the inn and bar."

'' Yup! The one and only! Don't mind the owner..she's a bit of a weirdo..tehee'' Zed said walking in the the building. They could see a few drunk man in the far end making a lot of noise while they played cards, another part was a bit gloomier and dark but he always ignored that part. He walked to the counter and some chubby woman with a big dress and heavy makeup welcomed them. ''Oh Zeddy Bear! My husband had told me you were here yesterday and i felt so bad i couldn't see you!'' she said with a heavy accent and pulling him in a tight hug, burying his face in her imposing chest. She was pretty old and the owner of the Inn. It was THE place of the town, no one could bypass it. Finally releasing him, Zed catched on his breath '' Hi Ludisse, glad to see ya again!'' he said a bit exhausted by the hug. Ludisse looked at the young girl next to hi, ''Oh and who that might be?'' she asked winking at Zed. He blushed a bit, '' Just a new friend of mine, her name is Saphire.''

Saphire walked up, eyes twinkling at the kind lady. "My name is Saphire Tsuki, of the TsukiJin, Ms. It is a pleasure to meet you." She curtsied a bit, something she had learned was a respectful way of greeting another. Much like the bows of her home, she supposed. "This is a wonderful establishment, Ms." Yes, aside from one jangle the whole area flowed with harmony.

Ms. Ludisse looked at the younger girl in great interest. At some point she touched her hair, she knew this kind of people. ''Oh how rare to see a TsukiJin, especially in such Areas.'' She said excitedly, '' Then I must give you the best comfort!'' she rummaged in a drawer and grabbed a key and gave it to Zed, '' Now go go, seek comfort in the best room in this Inn!'' she said pushing both towards the stairs, she winked at Zed in a suggestive way, '' It's in the house big boy!'' she said grinning and walking back behind the counter shouting at some drunk man who started making too much noise. Zedekiah looked at the key,'' Huh..but we only got one key!?'' he said looking back at the woman, but was gone from their view.

Saphire, surprised to be pushed forward so suddenly, reacted instinctually, wings flapping out from behind her back and ears flicking up. Of course, being unable to fly she didn't do much else. "Uhh... Ms.?" When she mentioned getting comfort Saphire sighed. Obviously there was no way she was going to listen. As soon as the pressure on her back had receded she hid her ears and wings, blushing slightly at loosing control like that. "Uhh... so. One room, is it?"

Zedekiah rubbed the back of his head, '' Yeah...but ill sleep on the floor.'' he said walking towards the designated room. He wasn't just going to sleep on a bed next to a girl he just met and would never take advantage of such. He opened the room quietly and opened the light, it was pretty much a room filled with quite expensive furnitures and a king size bed. Zed sighted and saw a one place sofa on the corner of the room. Guess I'll be sleeping there. he thought.

Saphire stared at the room, not used to this amount of extravagance. "This... is a lot of..." She didn't even know the names for all of the things in the room. At least, not in their language. So, slowly, carefully, she walked in on it. "Things." The lame way she finished the sentence nearly caused her to wince. "I... must admit, I've never been in a room as filled as this." A quick glance at the bed told her that yes, it did look really soft, and no she did not want to sleep in it. She'd never wake up in the morning if she did, it was so comfortable-looking. So, instead, she said "I do not mind sleeping on the floor." It was what she was used to. Their customs of sleeping on a separate bed baffled her, even if she did appreciate not feeling her feathers catching in the wood at times.

'' Oh no, I really don't mind sleeping on the floor or whatever. Just take the bed, ill wake you up tomorrow. What kind of man would I be if i just took the most comfortable place.'' Zedekiah said giving a reassuring look. He would never let any girl sleep on the floor and him on a soft bed. He took out his weapons and placed it on one of the table and took out most of his clothes except his pants and boots. '' I'll go take a shower if you don't mind, or do you prefer going first?'' he asked.

She shrugged, taking off her quiver and bow, placing them on a table next to his own. "If you wish to shower first, then please do. I'll just be here." She waved at what appeared to be a window, before taking off her katana and belt. "I feel as though I might enjoy the view from over there. Do not be alarmed if you hear singing, it is merely me enjoying the night." Yes, it was so rare for there to be a calm night like this. There was so much evil to cleanse in the world, and she did not like resting when there was yet more to do.

Zedekiah nodded and stepped in the shower. Feeling the warm water patterning his skin always kind of reassured him. After a few minutes of simply enjoying the water, he started washing himself and finally wrapped a towel around him and exited the washroom. He walked out and heard her sing so beautifully, he took his clothes while she wasn't looking at him and changed rapidly in the washroom and then just dropped on the comfortable sofa next to the window. '' You sing really well,'' he said looking at her while making him comfortable for the long painful night.

Saphire had begun to sing a song she loved, "Me gamurushii, jikan no mune ga hashiru nukeru, machi wa savaana. kawaru gawaru, suriell na news, asu ni nareba daremo ga wasureteru. Ikiteiru, ima ikiteru, sounano kao nani wo motometeru? mokagu no youni, nukedasu no you ni, kono chikara wo tameshitakunakunaru!" She thought about the town and world as she sang, of the past and the future. The lyrics were true, and she always felt it would have been nice if they had translated them. She sang on, memories of her training, and of her first combat against any of the Evil.

"Kidtsuzuku koto wa kowakunai, dakedo keshite tsuyokunai. Tada nanimo shinai mama de kuyandari shitakunai! Here we go! Go! Hashiri tsuzukeru, darenimo tomerare wa shinai! mirai no jibuun eto, give a reason for life. Todoketai! At the end of the song, her memories of the difficult training began to fade, the last verse ringing in her mind. When she heard Zedekiah's complement she quickly turned around. "Oh, uh... thank you." She looked down, blushing It was her kind's greatest hope that the world would spread songs, not blood. So of course, hearing that she was good was one of the greatest compliments they could get.

You don't have to read all of that, just thought I would include a bit from the beginning and end.

Zedekiah smiled at her, '' No worries, just stating the truth.'' he said looking at her. He was happy that he had a companion, and she was nice to add up. He leaned on the chair and closed his eyes listening to her sing and slowly drifted into a dreamless sleep.

(ahhaha nice lyrics!)

((Thanks. I'm glad you liked them.))

Saphire, upon finishing one of her later songs, turned to see Zedekiah asleep on a chair. That cannot be comfortable. She stood up and gently moved him to the bed, careful not to wake him up. She didn't like being woken, so doubted he would. Once he was in the bed she covered him with one of the blankets, whispering "Goodnight, Zedekiah," and going to gather two of the other ones, making a makeshift bed in front of the window and sleeping herself.

Zedekiah woke up abruptly because of his own snoring, he didn't understand how come he ended up on the bed. He saw Saphire sleeping on some blanket and he felt horrible, but at the same thought how the bed was so comfortable and soft. He had never slept so well. He stretched and started wearing his usual attire to go see on the TsukiJin Historian from some village. Saphire had talked about him, and they probably had a better chance entering that village then in Velika.

With the sounds of movement from her roommate she Saphire woke up, gently rubbing sleep out of one eye as she sat. " 'morning. I didn't miss breakfast, did I?" It wouldn't be the first time, though she wasn't certain how to feel about it. She straightened her arms, stretching them, as her hair turned a soft flower-blue, and eyes nearly clear. It was always good to have a restful night and morning. Now moving to stand she didn't notice that her kimono was slightly messed up, revealing her form-fitting under-armor. Luckily only one side had slipped, revealing her shoulder and little else.

Zedekiah looked at her blushing but out of respect for her, he looked away and tighten his sword on his back. '' No don't worry, tho we should be leaving early since it's three day trip like you said.'' he said slugging a baggy leather bag on his shoulder. He looked at Zabou who had just jumped from the window and on him giving kisses on his cheek and he did the same to Saphire. Zedekiah laughed a bit and looked at the blue haired girl, '' Oh and Goodmorning to you too. Slept well?'' he added.

((Sorry it took so long. Lots of other RPs to reply to.))

"Yes. It is always pleasant to escape the cold." Really, it was even soft. The houses weren't made of the same materials, but it was just as comfortable. Then again, with their sensitivity any place would have been comfortable in this town. "Good morning, Zabou." He gently rubbed her hand over the monkey's head, careful not to jostle him as she stood. "Yes, this particular historian had a fascination with the history of one town. I had promised his family to visit, and if he has the information we require it wouldn't be too out of the way."
