Shunsuke glanced up from his book and out the window of the second year classrooms. It would be the ceremony for first years soon. Another round of speeches and this time he would have to play the role of friendly senior to the juniors. Shunsuke glanced up at the clock and heaved a sigh as he pushed off the floor and seat gently with his feet, floating in the air as he left the room. It was the one thing he loved about his powers. Being able to alter gravity let you do all kinds of fun things. It was far more interesting to him that some of the other powers like fire manipulation and more useful in day to day applications. Energy saving too. Shunsuke headed out the classroom door, yawning as he floated down the hallway. It was going to be a long day.

Nina sat delicately, legs crossed and mind almost focused. Over the break, she had done nothing but practice transformation, but her wings were still patchy. Besides that, all the energy she had been putting into them had caused it to become increasingly difficult to summon her guardian. Before now, he usually took form of a bear or wolf, but these days he kept coming as a moth, or butterfly – which was even more irritating, considering he could fly, and she could not. The past few days, she had set aside her frustrations and concentrated solely on summoning.

She opened one eye, watching as others poured out around her. There was no way to focus while all the new folk arrived. If she really wanted to practice, she'd be sitting somewhere else, but no, this was too good an opportunity. This was the time to pick out the weak, the weird, the beautiful, and most importantly, the strong. Those were the ones she would have to break down, or if that failed, learn from. So far, however, there was no one of interest, so she rummaged through her bag to find a book on guardians. She pushed strays out of her face and opened it, furrowing her brows and hoping that somehow these words would allow her to summon as she once had. If she could do it flawlessly at thirteen, she could do it now.

Desperately wanting her companion, she truly sought inner peace. It was important to be able to center herself amidst distractions. She clasped her palms together, took five slow, deep breaths, then slowly opened them before her, attempting to create a barrier between herself and the world while forming the image of Beryx's favorite form in her mind's eye. Her hands trembled slightly, and she resisted the temptation to check and see if he was there yet. A few minutes passed, and she felt a soft nuzzle against her face. She wrapped her arms around a strangely small neck before opening her eyes and realizing he wasn't a bear, but a panther.

“Well!” she laughed, taking his paws and checking them for any irregularities, such as extra toes, which was the most common, “Aren't you handsome?” He purred, an odd sound coming from such a large cat, doing a full three-sixty to complete the examination. Nina frowned, “You seem to be normal, which doesn't seem right... I haven't done this correctly in so long I started to think I never would...”

Optimistically, she had signed up for flying this year; it was the first class of the day and it had gone far worse than she anticipated. She finally stood, bored with bright eyed newcomers and made her way to wait for the ceremony to begin.

Hamlet wandered down the stairwell towards the courtyard to find his brother. The redheaded first year was staring in awe at the academy and grinned excitedly when he saw his brother exit and greet him. Hamlet stood a bit over his brother and examined his class schedule as he grabbed his bag. He twitched when he saw his younger brother had a math class, and he wonder if Marcus, himself knew. Marcus, the first year, looked so bright and excited to be at the academy that Hamlet decided it could wait. The two headed inside to wait for the ceremony. Marcus kept his eyes peeled for the opposite gender, and Hamlet wondered if anyone would cause his brother any trouble. The two were very different people, but it did not stop them from being an oddly happy set of brothers.

Marcus was a bit nervous, which his brother didn't seem to notice. He wasn't sure he was strong enough to be at the academy, and he was almost sure he would fall behind in classes like normal. He wasn't as strong as Hamlet, though he tried so be like his adopted brother. Marcus wondered about being strong enough, while Hamlet furrowed his brow about his lack of pretty much any raw ability. Brains and brawn weren't just going to cut it. He was a second year now, and things were going to start getting practical. Never mind their faults, the two were ready for the year to start, and ready to learn what they could and grow to be Crystal Protectors.

Ciara and Dean were walking the school grounds, both trying to get used to it's demeanor. Ciara, being the easily overwhelmed girl she was known to be at times, fidgeted around in her pockets, while her brother wore an almost uncaring look across his face. The two twins made their way into the room that the ceremony would be held in, looking around at the faces of people. Dean was confident that the school would be easy for him, figuring he had the strength to overcome any obstacles, yet he worried about his sister. She wasn't strong, and her grades usually consisted of C's and B's, meaning she wasn't a genius. In all honesty, Dean didn't know if Ciara was cut out for this school, but he never mentioned anything to her.

Dean leaned against the wall of the school, wondering when someone would come and give them instructions, while his sister just stood there awkwardly at his side. Ciara had an earbud in one ear, listening to music so that it would ease her nerves. In boredom, Ciara leaned her head against her brother's shoulder, waiting for something interesting to happen. Dean didn't seem to mind the contact of his sister, and he knew no one could possibly think they were in a relationship, as they had practically the exact same face. He gave a sigh, sharing in his sisters boredom as well.

Ling just finished her Art class, and now are dying to eat something. The class is dismissed and she quickly left for the cafetaria. She's carrying a backpack full of art supplies and several history book. She noticed that there is a lot of unfamiliar faces around, most probably the first years.

As Ling walked through the hallway, she's wondering whther she could befriend them. Most likely no.

Mai's bright yellow eyes sparkled with excitement as she stepped through the large metal gates of the school, a large suitcase in her hand and a duffle bag on her shoulder. It was beautiful and grand, just as she imagined it to be. Students of all ages dotted the grounds, some were newcomers, clutching their bags just like she did, while others practiced their powers, passing energy balls and growing plants in mere seconds. Some were even flying. "Coooooool," she whistled, already hyped for the upcoming school year.

Mayumi began to walk, ever so often glancing at the school map she held in her hand. "Female dorms.. female dorms.." Mai muttered, glancing about the school grounds for the building in question. Distracted by her search, she ended up planting her face into a sturdy back. "Oomf!" she fell back, rubbing her nose." Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going," Mai apologized to the red-headed boy she hit with her face. A quick glance told her he was a first year, just like her.

Cal was in absolutely awe when he stepped into the grounds. A little intimidated? Yes. Enthusiastic? Of course! He wouldn't be his mother's son if he wasn't. Although he was a bit offput to know how for real this "Crystal Academy" actually was. Students left and right were doing the most uninmaginable and awesome things, which did put Cal wondering if his powers could really compare.

Either way, he chose to tread forward towards the school, his determination threatned by that bubbly, shaky feeling of nervousness on his stomach. He tried to digest it though as he entered the Academy and went the same direction a lot of students were going until they all reached the hall where the Ceremony would most likely take place. He sat down on one the many chairs and looked around to see all sorts of first years: Shy, extroverts, isolated, cool-looking, friendly... Anyway, all girls and boys he would eventually warm up to. Some more than others, he hoped...

Alessandra stood at the opening of the gate that lead into the Courtyard of Swarovski Academy, suitcases in hand and a content grin across her pale skinned face. Her grey blue eyes scanned across the scene before her looking for any familiar faces which unfortunately she was to no avail. There seemed to be a lot of new faces she didn't recognize. Una grande cerimonia di domani she thought to herself. There was going to be a big ceremony tomorrow for all the incoming students.

She remembered her first year at the academy. Her excitement and her anxiousness. It's been a long time since then and she was happy to finally get past those awkward years of being new and not really knowing what she was doing.

Enthusiastically she sauntered across the courtyard to the large doors that opened up into the academy. She needed to go and check in and find which dorm she would be staying in and the classes she would be taking. She was eager to find out who would be dorming with this year. Hopefully she wouldn't have to put up with anyone she hated for an entire school year.

She walked over to the dorm office and came up to a short line of students also waiting in line to do the same as her. Once she waited in the line, she received her dorm number and key. She also received a little white paper with the name of her dormmate. Which she didn't recognize. Well, at least she was good at making new friends.

Next she was on her way to put together and get her schedule. She picked out her five different classes
Once she had her schedule picked up she headed to pick up her books from the library for those classes. Once walking into the library she was greeted by yet another line. This one was longer than the last two. So she stepped into the line and claimed her spot where she patiently waited.

Shunsuke glanced at the students that were starting to fill the hallways as he floated pass them, book tucked safely under his arm, crystal held tightly in his other hand, tucked away in the pocket of his pants. Another glance outside the window told him that there were a lot of first years, a lot of new students in addition to already numerous second and third years. "Oh boy." Shunsuke huffed when he was greeted by a long line upon entering the library to return the book he had just finished earlier in the morning and collect the ones he needed for class. He floated over to the back of the line a small smile slipping onto his face when he found himself staring at the back of a familiar figure. "Hey Alessandra." He greeted as he hovered behind her. At least he wouldn't be rereading his book while waiting. "Excited for the second year?"

Alessandra was patiently waiting in the line to receive her books, she then heard a familiar voice and decided to turn around to face it. It was Shunsuke, another second year. She had spoke with him before in some of her classes. He was always the person she could ask for notes if she had been sick a day. She greeted him with a friendly grin. "Ciao! Shunsuke! How was your summer?" she spoke with her Italian accent that made it slightly difficult for her to say the boys name. Her accent made her say some words funny, but most people just thought it was cute.

"Well of course! I'm very excited actually. What classes are you taking?" she spoke trying to make friendly conversation. Perhaps they would have a class together. The likeliness was quite high that they would. Her crystal power sometimes surprised people, such a sociable girl wielding the power of darkness. It fit her much more than most would think, but she always found it amusing whenever someone found out what crystal she was and was surprised that she wasn't like the other dark crystal possessors.

"You can always call me Shun if it's too hard for you to pronounce my name you know." Shunsuke told Alessandra with a smile when she greeted him. She was always bubbly and full of life, it had surprised him in his first year to know that she belonged to the pool of dark crystal wielders. He had expected her to be a light crystal wielder of sound crystal wielder, anything but a dark crystal wielder. "Flying, crystal history, crystal control, crystal combat training and space class. Same as last year." He shrugged his shoulders. The other classes weren't really for him. He only really cared for crystals, the rest didn't pique his interest at all. "So am I going to have you knocking on my room door or looking me up for notes again this year?" He asked jokingly as he recalled last year. She was one of the people in his level he didn't mind dealing with. Easy to talk to, easy to get along with.

Alessandra giggled at bit when he noticed her trouble pronouncing his name. "I can speak to you in four different languages, but yet one name seems to defeat me. So, I'll take you up on that one." she said with a smile. European languages were much easier for her, those deriving from Asia were always tricky for her. She had a knack for languages although. She wanted to eventually be able to communicate across the world without a translator. "Ah, yes, I'm taking many of the same. " she spoke to him.

She smiled again when he remember her borrowing his notes. "
If you would stop taking such good notes, I wouldn't ask to borrow them! Take it as a compliment!" she joked with him. The line was becoming smaller and Alessandra and Shunsuke were inching closer. "So what's on your agenda after this?" she asked simply being inquisitive. She knew she eventually had to go to her dorm to meet her new roommate, but she was also getting a bit hungry. It was a long flight from Italia and she hadn't eaten since she gotten off the plane.

Shunsuke decided to let himself loose for a while longer and grinned. "I know. I'm a note taking god. But it's so tiring having everyone worship me for notes." He told her playfully as they neared the librarian. "Maybe collect my keys and schedule or eat. I came to school dead early but I spent all of the morning before everyone else came reading instead of collecting my schedules and stuff. Now I have to suffer long waits in lines." He hadn't gone overseas, hadn't actually done much over the holidays. Everyone went back home and he just hung around wherever. No long flights or car rides for him so he'd been the first one in this morning.

(Disregard my last post! Sorry for any confusion, I rewrote a few things! :P )

Belial narrowly dodged the throngs of people hastily walking around, finding old friends and making new ones. Voices resonated all throughout the halls, some friendly and some much less so. He would chart out shortcuts and solitary pathways at a later time, now he had to focus on making it to the ceremony for the first years. He peered into the hall of the ceremony, desperate to find an available seat or at least a kind looking face. He took a seat next to a brown haired young man. Maybe he would be the least bit bearable. Should I say something? What if he was saving this seat... Belial parted his lips to speak, but quickly thought against it, instead clearing his throat audibly in hopes of catching the attention of the brunet.

Lazy eyes swept past the incoming first years with a seemingly cool disinterest. After arriving a day earlier with the other second years, Ezra quickly found himself bored after unpacking. And with classes on hold until the students' arrival, what else was he to do besides scope out the fresh meat?

On one side, upperclassmen played mock battles with the obvious goal of showing off their powers to their juniors. On the other, younger bodies carrying too-stuffed luggage wandered in, some faces apprehensive and others excited, but all strode past with an panicked hop in their step. The sight brought memories of his own first day floating towards the front of his mind--his own anxious thoughts of the people he would meet and the classes he would take, how different it would all be from schooling in town, how magic would then become a part of his everyday life. He saw his past self mirrored in the new students and gave his head a forceful shake to rid his mind of the past; Ezra refused to be burdened with memories on this day.

He focused instead on the faces of those wandering past, some familiar and most new: an Asian boy in the same year as Ezra, Shun-something-or-other, talking cheerfully with another second-year girl whose name Ezra did not know; another second year girl caught Ezra's eyes as she talk with a panther (the sight sent a brow rising on his forehead--there were some things in this school he doubted he would ever get used to); two brothers--one Ezra knew as Hamlet who was also in his second year--greeted each other and scampered off towards the first years' ceremony; wandering twins, lost and confused; a bubbly Asian girl; a flamboyant-looking male who seemed ready to burst with excitement or trepidation, or maybe both; and a snobbish first year girl who seemed intent on making sure everyone knew she stood at the top of the food chain.

Ezra heaved a sigh between parted lips and clamped teeth. Another dull year lay ahead of him, it seemed.

"When is the stupid ceremony going to start anyway?" Ciara finally snapped, raising her head from her brother's shoulder. On both of their backs were large backpacks, filled with both clothes and school supplies, as they hadn't stopped to get dorms yet. "Patience. I swear you lack it sometimes." Dean replied. Ciara's nervousness was getting to her, and when it did she got very antsy and annoyed. "Can we just go and meet people?" She moaned. "I'd like to see you try, I mean you can't even talk to a spider without being nervous. But do me a favor and annoy whoever you meet instead of me." Dean replied, only being rude because he was secretly nervous as well. Even if they were close siblings, every sibling bickers, it's a known fact.

Ciara ran a hand through her hair, and made her way to one of the only people in the area that wasn't talking to someone. He was a teenager who was more than likely her age with shaggy brown hair. Since her brother wasn't with her, she was kind of nervous and pretty shy. Yet she still approached him, her British accent making her sound almost afraid, "Hello. I'm Ciara.."

Nina’s eyes continued to roam as she made her way through the courtyard. With Beryx at her side, she felt more comfortable, though perhaps talking with an animal should make her feel strange. She hardly recognized anyone considering most of break was spent with her nose in a book. There was one whose powers had mildly impressed her last year - of course, that was the only way anyone stood out to her. Pyrite, if she recalled correctly. He looked like he was brooding. There was a girl with him, dark hair and a shy aura about her. Nina’s lips twitched into a smile.

Beryx had a tendency to decide when and with whom she would interact with, and while she was debating, he had made his way to the pair. Groaning, Nina trudged over to the meddling guardian, and apologized, mostly to the female since he was rolling at her feet.

“You’re not a dog, damn it,” she snapped, “I’m sorry, I’d just dismiss him but then he throws a hissy fit next time,” she tilted her head uncomfortably, realizing this was the time she was supposed to introduce herself, “I’m Nina,” she said, not entirely sure if her half hearted smile looked natural.

"Oh my gosh! He's like a cat that acts like a puppy! He's a puppycat!" Ciara exclaimed, dropping to her knees to look at the panther. In fact she didn't even care that it was a predator. She attempted to rub the creature's fur, before realizing how childish she was acting, and standing up.

"I'm Ciara. And it's alright, I like animals." The first year pulled several strands out of her hair, before returning a smile. After a while of thinking about the creature and how he got there, she finally had to ask Nina.

"How'd you get one of those? Were we aloud to bring pets?" It was now perfectly clear that Ciara was new, but of course she had a good reason as to be asking her question.

"Hello," came a shy voice in Ezra's ears. "I'm Ciara..."

The girl's timid tones knocked the second year from his lazy observations. His eyes snapped towards the younger girl and a kind grin spread across his lips. He opened his mouth with the intent to reply, but his voice stopped short as the panther from before sidled up the girl before him. Ezra cocked his head back and blinked, his surprise evident on his face.

The sound of crunched grass at his side then stole his attention, his eyes falling upon the second year girl who owned the beast.

"You're not a dog, damn it," he heard her snap. "I'm sorry, I'd just dismiss him, but then he throws a hissy fit next time." Her words sent a prickling irritation across Ezra's mind;
As if that's a proper excuse, he thought. "I'm Nina."

Ah, so Nina was her name. He had seen her around the grounds, as he had many others, but whatever spark of interest he held for her was far too dim to incite introductions--but such was the case for just about everyone at this school.

"No, it's no prob--"

"Oh my gosh!" squealed the first year at his side. "He's like a cat that acts like a puppy! He's a puppy cat!" As Ciara fell to the ground with the intent to coddle the creature only to stand right back up with hardly a pat, Ezra let his teeth fall together and his own introduction fade away.

"I'm Ciara. It's alright, I like animals." He noted the nervous tug of her hair with lazy disinterest and wondered if they would notice if he walked away. "How'd you get one of those? Were we allowed to bring pets?"

"Not exactly," he chimed in, his annoyance well masked by the usual charming facade. "Some crystals grant summoning powers and he," Ezra gestured towards the playful cat, "happens to be a summoned guardian. Pretty cool, huh?" He finished with a quick, light laugh, his grin wide and seemingly genuine.

Nina’s eyebrows arched.

Panther form got a much better response than bear or wolf, even though he was aggravatingly friendly either way. He didn’t take on his master’s general indifference. Her eyes shifted to Ezra, surprise gone and irritation emanating him like a cheap perfume. She resisted a lazy eye roll and accepted Ciara’s introduction with a nod.

Beryx allowed the rub, even rolling onto his back with tongue lolling out the side of his mouth. Nina stared in distaste - they would have to work on his peaceful demeanor.

“Were we allowed to bring pets?”

Cute, Nina thought, pushing past the fact her guardian had first been called a puppy cat, then a pet. She listened as Ezra explained her own powers, then pursed her lips, wanting to say that he was wrong simply to push a button, but couldn’t. A shrug came instead, “It would be fantastic, if he wasn’t so damn…” she stared down at the two, frowning, “Snuggly.”

A smile formed despite herself, “But if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t meet anyone. I’d be staring off into the distance, waiting to be disappointed,” she laughed darkly, shooting a sidelong glance to the boy before looking at Ciara, “Are you excited for the ceremony?”

Hamlet led Marcus towards the dorms and gave him a mini tour on the way. Unfortunately for Hamlet, Marcus stopped dead to stare. He looked right, and left. A girl with flaming feet caught his eye, a girl with an Italian accent talking in the line to get books made him gawk, two girls doting on a panther were certainly interesting, a girl walking with a huge bag full of books peaked his interest, and before he could be anymore annoyingly obvious, a girl ran right into him. She apologized, and he stared intensely for a moment before showing his big grin. Her yellow eyes turned his face curious. "Hey, no harm done, " he chimed, "What's your name, sweet?"

Hamlet watched the interaction with mild disgust before leaving his brother to go do his own things. If his brother rather goof off with girls, than figure out his living conditions, it was fine by him, but he wasn't going to stick around and help him after the girl learned he was a complete joke. Hamlet sighed and tucked his hands in his pocket. Glancing around at all the students, he couldn't help but wonder if maybe he made a friend or two this year, maybe he could learn some abilities. He noticed a boy standing a bit back from the group with the panther. Maybe friends were a necessity for success.... He approached the dark haired boy, and asked his name. He noticed that the girl petting on the panther looked like a girl version of him.

"Uh?" Taking off the headphones from his ears for a bit, Cal noticed a boy around his age sitting next to him. He seemed nervous, if not a bit out of place with his feathery white hair. In an attempt to meet someone new, and also to make the boy more comfortable, he smiled warmingly.

"Hey. You're new here, right? I'm Afonso Pascal, but since a lot of people can't spell my name, you can just call me Cal." He introduced himself, lending out a hand to the boy. "It's nice to meet another student. What's your name? If you don't mind me asking."

Cal winked, with a tiny grin on his face. Most would say he was pretty straight forward, but otherwise, how would he get along? He had to start somewhere.

@Gakuren (Nah it's okay. I get Belial, I do that a lot in real life as well. No need to apologize. Oh, and nice to meet you! ^^)

"Oh that's so cool!" Ciara beamed, addressing both the boy and Nina. After Nina finished speaking, she replied quickly to Nina by saying, "Yeah, I'm super excited! Sure, I don't really know how it works, but I'm sure things will go smoothly." After speaking, Ciara realized how rude she must have been to cut the boy off, so she turned to him, "I apologize for interrupting you, it was incredibly ill-mannered." Ciara was known by her family to slip into an almost prim and proper attitude when it came to apologies, as she looked up at the boy with pure sincerity.

When Dean noticed a brown haired guy approaching him, he leaned forward, off of his leaning position on the wall. When the stranger asked his name, he let out a quick, "Dean." His eyes were cold, and seemingly void of emotion, yet he figured it was best to at least engage in conversation. "And you are?" Dean asked with a gruff tone to his voice.

Did...He wink at me?? Belial looked down at the boy's hand, unsure if he should make contact. He held it softly and shook it lightly, almost as if he was afraid he would break Cal's hand. "I'm Belial." He swiftly withdrew from the handshake. How forward this boy was... He turned away slightly and mumbled, "I...Look forward to... Learning with you." His parents instructed him to say this to every new student he met. Looks like Cal would be the first to hear it. He flushed lightly and took out a small book. It slipped out of his gloved hands and fell on the floor. The words "Holy Knight's Romantic Twilight" were etched into the leather binding.
