"I'm Mayumi, but you can just call me Mai," she chirped, grinned back at the other first year. The guy seemed friendly enough, considering it's her first impression of him. Maybe she's found herself a new buddy. "Oh, shoot," remembering the reason she was so urgent in the first place, the girl glanced at her watch.
About a half-hour until the ceremony. I'd better find the dorms quick so I can put down my stuff... but I have no idea where it is, she thought to herself, pink lips turned down in a small frown.

Mayumi turned back to the boy in front of her. "Um, you wouldn't happen to know where the female dorms are, would you? I'm kinda lost," her lips turned up in a sheepish smile, slightly embarrassed by her lack of direction.

(I'm testing out different formats. Don't mind the changes)

Cal was suprised at how frigid the boy was after his light handshake and nervous voice. To be honest - but with all due respect for privacy - with such polite manners, he wanted to stick to the guy so that he could break the ice throughout the year. Don't blame him, Cal just couldn't help but wish to know him better than a regular school acquaintance.

"Hey, where are you from? I'm from Portugal, but I'm also french. Not to brag or anything I mean, it's just a fact..." Cal chuckled, with small fear that this boy might be detesting the company. He did pull out a book in the meantime that fell onto the ground. Out of good manners, the portuguese picked it up instead, lending it to Belial.

"I look forward to studying with you too, Belial." he smiled. "I've never heard of such a title. What is it about?"

@Gakuren (I feel like I'm molesting Belial, I am so sorry xD Oh, I'm London time. And you?)

Horrified, Belial snatched up the book and stowed it away. "It's nothing!! I-it's...My sister's...!!" His mind was racing for a justification for the obscure romance novel. Too bad a fabricated sister was the best he could come up with. "I'm just holding on to it for her for a while, is all.." He looked away, face burning with embarrassment. "A-ah...Portuguese and French? That's an interesting combination." He was desperate to change the topic. He hasn't even started his first day and he was already a mess. "I've never been to Portugal, but France is nice, I suppose." When would this damn ceremony start? In the few minutes he's socialized with another person, he's already shown evidence of what a huge recluse he was. "What were you listening to just now?"

@Purpleyedmiss (Lol, you're fine! I'm on US Eastern time zone. It's like 9:13 pm here at the moment :P )

Given his reaction, Cal doubted it was he was just holding onto his sister's book as a family favor. But seeing how that hardly mattered, he took Belial's change of subject easily.

"Actually, it's very common. You see, a lot portuguese know french better than english since it's similar word wise, so it's easy for us to understand each other. Also, our cultures are alike! We both love music, food and wine.... You get the idea." He answered, rambling about. "Oh, Portugal is beautiful. No matter how many times I visit other countries, it will always bring me back. You're british by your accent right? You should come to Lisbon someday, most english people love the place."

Cal hoped he wasn't stealing the conversation so much, and wished Belial was enjoying it, yet either way, they were just passing the time until the ceremony started. At the question of what music he was listenining to, he became more nervous and laughed to pass it off.

"Oh, uh, just this upcoming australian pop singer, nothing out of the ordinary..."

A glance at the older girl left her taught expression noted in Ezra's mind. She seemed her own kind of annoyed and certainly not because of Ciara. A tick itched his mind and his eyebrow twitched; a subtle spitfire, he supposed she was, and then turned his attention to dramatic panther at their feet. Her snuggle comment drew a humorless chuckle from his throat, as did the first year's prim apology.

"Don't worry about it," he replied, his tone light and kind, disguising still his irritation with her. As he spoke, he rubbed the back of his head with left hand in a mock show of embarrassment. "I remember the excitement of my first year, so I get you must be anxious for it all to start!"

"Go to your left, and when you reach that giant porcelain statue, take a right. You'll find the dorms there," Aschen interrupted, "But if you were a bit more responsible and looked for the dorms before you talked to anyone else, you wouldn't have needed directions."

Great. I'm gonna be stuck here with a bunch of idiots... Of all the academies they could have sent me to, it had to be here? It's just like home but flowing with dolts!

The more she thought about all these people, the more it irritated her, and her eyes slowly began transitioning from blue to orange. The air around her grew hot, though none of her body motions suggested she was the cause of the rise in heat.

Mai swiveled her head at the sound of a sharp voice behind her. The girl speaking looked like some spoiled rich young miss, all dolled up in expensive clothing with her pretty lips turned down in a haughty frown. The bags in her hand suggested she was a first year like herself.

Her brow twitched at the stranger's tone, a miniscule flash of electricity pulsed through her fingers in slight annoyance.
'Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning,' she mused. "Uh, thanks," she replied. Even if she was rude about it, the girl helped her out and for that Mayumi gave her thanks. Mai pulled at her collar. For some reason, the air seemed to be getting hotter with each passing second. "Er, well then I'm gonna go. I'll see you around, mister....?" She looked to the red haired boy in question, "sorry, I never got your name."

Vladimir moved quietly through the hallways clutching tightly to the violin case he carried. He slipped into the music room where he hoped that nobody would come this early in the morning. After all, music class wouldn't be for a bit of time. He set down and opened his case and gazed over the instrument that had been his friend for so long. "It's been a while Verona." He smiled as he picked up the instrument and ran his hand along its curvatures. He then took up his position and began to play. The melody was soothing and Vlad closed his eyes to focus. He let his body move as he played. The tempo growing stronger and the music growing louder. Vlad, in his nervousness however, had forgotten to shut the door. The music began to carry down the halls as he continued.

"Don't read into it," Aschen replied, noticing the small current of electricity run through the clumsy girl's fingers. "Guess it's that time of the month for her," she muttered while turning on her heels, smiling at her own little joke. The air in the hallway began to cool down as small crystal-shaped shards of obsidian formed on the walls and even on a few people's heads. I'm amaz--

The girl's thoughts were broken when the sound of an instrument had flowed through the building. She stopped dead in her tracks. Bass...? No, way too high... she creeped closer to the source of the sound, and open door. Cello...? Aschen got even closer. Violin...? she peeked her head through the doorway and saw someone playing the stringed instrument. She was right.

"Yep, violin."

She remained silent as the girl finally walked off, not wishing to engage in pointless dispute. "Jeez, what's got her panties in a twist? She's saltier than the Red Sea" Mai hissed, mood ruined already. She huffed, about to turn and leave when a sound hit her ear. It was a beautiful, melodic sound that flowed like water through the air and surrounded her on all sides. Her tension left and her spirits lifted, calming her nerves and restoring her mood. Mai paused, closing her eyes to enjoy the sweet melody. "Wow.."

Actually I'm not sure if I should tag anyone. I think I ended the interaction with Aschen and I haven't gotten close to Vlad yet xD I'll leave 'em up there just in case tho

Vladimir was lost in the music and didn't even notice the person that entered the room. He continued to move the bow across the strings, the melody changing and growing louder as he felt his joy at being able to express his love for music in a way that words could never properly express. He began to sweat as he felt the lights of a large stage, the energy within the crowd as they listened. As he had done many times before, Vlad began to improvise. This was where the music began to really shine. Vlad began to express his worry, his anxiety and yet his joy and freedom through Verona. His body moved wildly as he played. Then the song reached its final note and Vlad slowly opened his eyes to the ceiling as he always did at the end of concerts. He was exhausted, but it help get rid of those first day jitters. "Thanks Verona." Vlad smiled as he cleaned the sweat off his violin and bow. He loosened the strings so they wouldn't become permanently stretched and packed up the instrument. "Now I think I can actually handle my first day of classes."

It's fine to be honest. He's playing loudly and the school isn't so crowded that you can't hear him playing with the music room door open.

"I'll say," Aschen replied, disregarding the fact that she walked in on someone. She only cared about the person who could play so skillfully. Well, the music more than the person.

"Where did you learn to do that? Could you teach me? Wait, no, you don't have to," she started, "Just know I
will not forget you if you don't," she warned, squinting and pointing at the excellent instrumentalist-- or whatever you call those people.

Sorry this post was so short, and sorry for the new font.

Vlad heard a woman speak and jumped away from the voice. "Don't hit me!" He cried out as he put his arms in front of his face. When she asked him to teach her then suddenly became a bit more aggressive, Vlad didn't know what to do. He opened his mouth, but his gynophobia wouldn't let him move, let alone speak. He stood there dumbfounded as the woman waited for a response from him. "I-I-I-I c-c-can't teach." He managed to say it though not very audibly. He could tell this woman was pretty and that made it harder for him.

Aschen expectantly waited while the guy just sat there, stuttering. "Don't hit me!" Is this kid serious?

"What makes you think I'm going to hit you?! I just want violin lesso--" she was cut off as he finally answered her initial question, "I-I-I-I c-c-can't teach."

"Everyone can teach," she replied with a roll of her eyes. "Also, can you stop stuttering? I'm not
actually going to hurt you. Unless you keep up with that look, of course. That's when you'll have something to be afraid of."

Of course, she still wouldn't have hit him. After all, if she needed someone to boss around every once in a blue moon, this was the perfect person to do it with.

Vlad had to look away from her so that he could talk normally, it was rude, but his gynophobia was extreme. "I can't teach women. Honestly, you're lucky I could even say those words." Vlad pictured he was talking to a male while he spoke so he wouldn't stutter. "I hate to admit this but I have gynophobia." He figured that she was able to understand what he meant. "So women aren't exactly beings I can be near. I definitely can't teach you. I'm sorry." He finally managed to say his part, but then he decided to continue. "But I WOULD at least like to try and be your friend." He said more energetically.

He didn't bother looking at her while he spoke, but at least it didn't take him five minutes to finish his sentence. "I wouldn't mind, but how are you going to be friends with something you're afraid of...?" Don't ask questions, just accept the offer. "Oh, I forgot to ask. What's your name?"

Vladimir | Location: Music Room | Mood: Calming Down | Tags: @Salt Lord

"That's part of the challenge isn't it?" He smiled. She didn't reject his offer, in fact she basically said yes. "And I'm Vladimir Tepes. You may have heard of me before." He turned to her. His fears kicked in and he took deep breaths to calm them down. He was still afraid, but at least he could speak like he did with his family. "And what might your name be?" He decided that he'd try to be a little brave. "Is it as pretty as you?" He felt fear and had to hold himself back from triggering his invuln state.

"Vladimir..." She had to admit, Vladimir's name made the guy sound a lot braver than he was. "And what might your name be? Is it as pretty as you are?" Aschen giggled at the remark and jokingly ran her fingers through her hair. "Aschen Glas? Not even close." For once, she wasn't angry at something. That was a start.

"By the way, you're taking this extremely well for someone with your condition... what was it called again?"

Vladimir | Location: Music Room | Mood: Happy | Tags: @Salt Lord

"It's called Gynophobia. It's the fear of women. And currently I'm having to use my power to keep my feet from moving." It wasn't a joke. He had increased gravity's effect on his feet and it was impossible for him to move them even an inch. "And it's actually not a bad name. Not something I would've thought of for you, but still good." He smiled. His fear was still telling him to run, but between his power and how she wasn't angry or trying to hit him he was able to stay put.

She looked down and noticed that his feet seemed to be stapled to the ground, just without the blood and staples. "Wow. What's your power?" Aschen was impressed and even slightly jealous that her new acquaintance could staple something to anything with his attributes.

"Not something I would've thought for you, but still good." Hearing this remark, she looked back up at his face. "What did you think of for me?"

Vladimir | Location: Music Room | Mood: Panicked | Tags: @Salt Lord

"I have gravitational manipulation. I can increase any objects gravitational field as well as change the direction. For instance." He pointed to one of the music stands and first reversed it's gravitational field so it would push away from the earth and only the earth. Then he amplified it. The music stand rose and then pulled in the other music stands. It wouldn't be strong enough to pull either of them but soon the other music stands were moving in circles around the one he was controlling. "It's not all that impressive to be honest." He turned his head to her when she asked what he thought it would be. "I thought you'd be more of an Isabella or Rasmera. Something elegant but powerful." He smiled warmly. His fear, at least of her, was starting to ebb away.

The music intensified, magnified by the large, echoing halls of the school. Gorgeous sound bombarded her on all sides, filling her ears and drowning out all other sounds. She could feel the emotions of the music resonating within her own heart: anxiety, fear, joy, and liberation. It rooted her to the spot and sent shivers up her spine.

To her regret, the song came to an end. Mai opened her eyes, realizing she had remained in the same spot the whole entire time. Frantically she checked her watch. Only twenty minutes to the ceremony. "Shoot!" the girl exclaimed. She hurriedly took up her bag and darted down the hallway, past the open door, to the left, beyond the porcelain statue, and to the right. Mayumi burst through the doors of the female dorms. A queue of incoming students stretched from the front desk, and she took her place at the end. All the while, Mai thought of that skilled musician, lingering notes still dancing in her ears.
'I want to meet that person.'

aaahhh I'm sorry I took so long. I've been doing lots of work lately ;A;

A music stand floated off the ground and made its way toward a few others. This was unlike anything Aschen had ever seen. "What do you mean by 'not all that impressive'? It's amazing!" None of my tutors were able to do this! "All I can do is create and shoot fire." She took another look at the stands and rose one of her hands. A glyph formed under the levitating music stand, an a few seconds later when the glyph was next to blinding, it shot a pillar of flame, causing the object to get blasted into the roof and even partially melt.

"It wouldn't have been that powerful if I hadn't charged it up, but with your ability to distort gravity, it doesn't seem like you really need to charge your attacks for power."

"That's probably because my power is very limited." He was impressed with her fire abilities. "Like I said I can only do those two things. The most combat effective version is this." He pointed to one of the chairs and lifted it so that she could get an easy view. He then began drastically increasing the objects own gravitational field. He felt the strain on his mind as the chair began to bend and compress, getting smaller and smaller until it was just a sphere of compressed metal and wood. "Imploding an object." A bit of blood trickled out his nose when he set the chair down. "Unfortunately, that power is very intense on my mind. So is affecting large numbers of objects. So I'm here to get better at it. And hopefully get over my gynophobia."

Aschen could only stare in awe as the chair compressed itself into a ball. "That's scary." She took her eyes off the chair... ball... thing, and finally looked back at the one who caused it. "So I see. Oh, by the way, you should probably clean your nose before we get to the ceremony. Wouldn't wanna go looking like you just-- ohwaittheceremony!" Her words came out as a jumble on speedy nonsense as she ran out of the music room. Oh, I'm such a hypocrite...
