Personality: A kind, yet soft spoken young girl, Yumi spends most of her time safely indoors. She has a naturally sweet disposition, but is also relatively sheltered. Due to her being raised by a single parent, she's knowledgeable in cooking and other household tasks.

Background Information: Yumi is the half-breed spawn of a kitsune mother and a human father. According to her mother's stories, it was a night filled with passion and adventure that led to her birth. In any case, Yumi was born, and from there led a relatively standard life. She was born with a rather weak constitution, which led her to pursue indoor activities when she wasn't visiting the hospital. Considering their financial situation, it was decided that it would be best if Yumi attended a boarding school after receiving Surnaturel's invitation.


She now sets forth on a new adventure, with the clothes on her bag and her closest friend: her pet rock.

Powers: Charlotte's curse confines her to the mirror dimension, and as such can see and be seen through any reflective surface, and is capable of manifesting by pulling herself out of the mirror, but only up to her waist. Owns a post of paint that never runs dry, a pack of cigarettes that never empties, and a mime costume that never dirties or tears, all side-effects of existing in the mirror dimension. She, too, does not appear to age or require sustenance, for similar reasons.


Finally, she's a skilled mime, capable of low-level mime magic.


Weapon of Choice: The ability to fire beams of intense heat from her fingers; psychological warfare.


Personality: Charlotte has always been a prankster at heart, and her curse has done little to change this. She also holds a firm belief in existentialist philosophy.

Background Information: Charlotte was a normal girl in a normal household in a normal town in a small fiefdom, daughter of a glassblower who was always interested in mirrors. She had talent for it, and soon entered into the School of the Voiceless Dragon, advancing through the thirty-six chambers of mimehood over four years of rigorous mime training.


Things were looking up until one day Charlotte pranked a traveling gypsy, who then cursed her- trapping Charlotte on the other side of the mirror. In hopes of breaking the curse, her father signed her on at the Surnaturel Academy.

Quick Edit: If the status of Peter being a Sentient Rock, incapable of communication is what is bothering you. I could possibly add some sort of Gargoyle Form (Transformation) that lasts for a brief period of time, if that would make it better for you.

Demon Wolf Form

While on all four legs, he stands at about one and a half times his human height. His body, with the exception of the tails, is about the same length as he is tall.


Powers


Kael has a small handful of powers. His greatest power is, as he calls it, the inferno of crimson darkness. This power is a blazing red flame that can steal the light of all else and use it to brighten its own flames. The brighter the flame gets, the darker everything else becomes, and the hotter the flame is.


His flames are strong enough to steal the light of any other normal flames, as well as can take any source of light away, the exception being the sun, as there's too much light for the flame to absorb. The flames are however, strong enough to absorb enough light to take the inside of a mansion's lights and steal them, leaving everything but the flames pitch-black.


Kael has a high level of physical strength and speed that he can tap into. This strength and speed can get unbelievably high, but tapping into it can damage his body, and the damage gets worse as he taps into more. Currently, he's able to tap into enough to raise his speed to half that of a bullet, and his strength to half that of a train hitting you at full speed. Doing so can put him in the hospital for anywhere between three weeks and four years though.


Kael can also transform into his demon wolf form and back at will. While in that form, he retains every one of his other powers. While in this form, he's unable to communicate with other humans, but can communicate just fine with other demonic creatures, as well as other wolves, both normal and those that are able to transform between human and wolf like Kael is capable of.


Kael's last power is wind. He doesn't have control of wind as an invisible weapon that can attack anything around him, but he can use it as a defensive system, as well as a few other things. The wind is able to take shape around his body like a suit of invisible armor that thinly layers against his skin. This armor doesn't stop things from really coming in contact with him, but it does slow things down a little, thus absorbing some of the damage he would normally take.


The wind can also be used as an enhancement to his physical attacks. When he punches or kicks, he can layer high-speed wind around his hand or foot. This doesn't really make his hit any stronger or weaker, but it does cause the hit target to go flying a bit easier and faster, and in turn, farther.


Weapon of Choice


Kail's only weapons are his fists, and the two rings hanging from his belt that are actually sharp as a sword and fast as the wind and flames behind him.


Personality


Kael is an overconfident fool. He's intelligent, but he's always overestimating himself, and underestimating others. He's quite friendly if you get past his pride, but that's something nobody's been able to do, not even his own sister.


Kael's always seen acting serious, and is almost never seen without some kind of high preparation for anything. He'll never take the opinions and ways of others and throw them out, but he'll always defend his own ways and opinions far too much to accept those ways and opinions of others.

This is Masako's reaper form. Anything she can do in this form she can do in her normal form, with the exception of her self-weight manipulation being weaker in human form.


Powers


Masako has various powers. First of all, she has a painful voice. Every word she utters causes harm to all that hear it. The pain of her words is based on how loud her voice is. This pain affects even her, and quite a bit more than others. Just a simple whisper can send her head to a state of pounding. She has absolutely no way of controlling this power, and thus, she can't say a single word without it being harmful.


Masako has another unfortunate power. Simple physical contact between her and somebody else, even just the touching of hair to skin or clothing, even simple clothing touching clothing is enough to activate it. Her power slowly drains the life energy of any she touches, transferring it to her.


This shortens other people's lifespan and increases her own. The power starts off slow and only drains two seconds of lifespan for every half second contact is made, but gets indefinitely stronger the weaker the target is mentally and/or physically. This works perfectly with her voice, and she can't control this power either.


Masako also has the ability to manipulate inanimate objects. She can make them float, tear them apart, and do whatever she will. What she can do is based on the weight and structure of the object, and not usually size. This is the only true power she has that she can control any amount, but when her emotions go too far in any direction, this power takes on its own will based on her emotional status.


While in her reaper form, Masako can move at high speeds by making herself lighter. It's enough that she can seem like floating across water just by pushing off of the ground once, but she's not able to make herself weigh more, and can't go fast enough to be too hard to follow with the eyes. She can jump quite high with this power as well.


This power can also be used in her human form, but at only half, if not less, the usefulness of while in her reaper form.


Weapon of Choice


Masako's preferred weapon is a scythe created from her own soul. This scythe isn't something that needs to be supplied to her, but in order for her to use it, she has to learn to take her own life energy and materialize it. This scythe doesn't really drain her life energy from her. This is a task she's done once before, but an no longer do because she's never actually learned how.


Rather, she just uses the life energy as the basic energy that forms it, then regains that life energy as the scythe stays solid until deconstructed. If interrupted while creating it, she will lose the life energy used to create it, and in turn, losing a small portion of her lifespan.


Personality


Masako is extremely quiet of a girl. She's never seen talking, and very few things can actually get her to talk. She's also very cautious of being around other people, as she can't have anybody even so much as grabbing her sleeve.


Masako's extremely hateful at her own life and will gladly take any chance to kill herself, but every time it comes down to it, she stops herself just before going all the way so she doesn't sadden her brother, who she cares for more than anything else.





Background Information


Kael and Masako were both born to the same parents. Their mother was a demon wolf like Kael, while their father was a reaper, just like Masako is. Both of their parents died while the two of them were fairly young, which left them with nobody to depend on but each other. They learned to survive both on their own and with each other in the world, and before they knew it, living on the streets wasn't all that bad.


Masako hasn't been speaking or in physical contact with anybody for as long as she can remember. She's always been silent and distant from others because of her cursed powers, but so long as she was with her brother that knew her every thought and feeling, it didn't matter to her, because Kael could say anything and everything for her that she would ever want to say to anybody.


They weren't sure how or why they received their invitation to Surnaturel Academy, but seeing as they had nothing better to do, they choose to go. Masako was a little reluctant in her head because of all the people she may end up hurting, but didn't show it outside and just went along with it anyways. Kael was quite pleased with this opportunity, as he'd finally get to test the strength he got from the streets to that of other people.


The two of them have known of their supernatural powers and species for a long time, as they were the first things they'd discovered when on the streets. They were still quite young at the time of discovering these things, so it wasn't really like everything they'd known flipped upsidedown. Rather, they somehow expected these powers to exist for some reasons to this day they still can't understand themselves.


(Edit: The 100% human form of Masako. Pretty much when she lacks any supernatural existence, this is how she looks.)

  • I hold control of strings. I can create and weave strings wherever I wish, allowing for ensnaring, trapping, and controlling various people and objects. My primary use of the strings is to control puppets, which I've been creating since I was a child...










I have six puppets... There's a seventh, though I refuse to tell anybody that seventh... Here's a list of my six puppets. I will include a picture and short description with them here in a moment... First of all though, they all happen to be the preservation of dead bodies... They still hold blood, as well as a heart that beats, though they themselves, are no longer alive... This is what makes them the perfect puppets for me to use...


The way I control them isn't with strings attached on the outside... Rather, they're attached on the inside of their bodies. This gives me control over them without the possibility of strings being cut through or getting tangled. You are... going to keep this secret from everybody I might end up using my powers against, right, Dr. Drakos...?







Kimiyo​

Kimiyo is my oldest puppet, in terms of having been a puppet. Kimiyo is sixteen, and has light purple hair. Her eyes are blue, it getting a little darker towards the center.


Kimiyo is skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She has great speed with her hands and feet, as well as is quite strong. Most people have limitations as to what they can do due to the existence of pain, though as Kimiyo's now a puppet, she can use the full strength that she couldn't when she was alive.


Kimiyo's weakness is that she's incapable of dodging while fighting close-up, though she usually covers for it with her strength by blocking. The back of her shoulders and her neck are her weakest points. If hit hard enough in that area, her body becomes useless, as that's where the strings in her body were initially wound, unwinding them causing me to lose most control of the girl's body.


Amaya​

Amaya is my newest puppet. She has pure white hair, and and her eyes, a dark blue that can't really be told apart from black. She's fourteen, making her one of the youngest, in addition to being the newest.


Amaya specializes in silent movement and blending in with the surroundings. She's very hard to find in a crowd of around fifteen people or more, even though one would expect somebody that looks like her to stand out. She's the second one that can actually talk, though unlike the first to be able to talk, kept her original voice completely.


Amaya's weakness is that none of her attacks are very strong, meaning that she's only good for support attacking. Just like the others, she has a weak point of which can unwind her strings and make her body immobile. This point is the back of her head, which when hit hard, like the rest, can unwind her strings.


Kiriyu​

Kiriyu is my third newest puppet. She's seventeen, and like Kimiyo, has purple hair and blue eyes, though her hair is a lot darker then Kimiyo's.


Kiriyu is, like Kimiyo, skilled in hand-to-hand combat, though rather than strong, she's fast on her hands, and quite skilled in acrobatic movements. She can pull off just about any kind of flip, as well as can bend her body in ways a normal person can't, thanks to her human limitations caused by pain to no longer exist.


Kiriyu's weakness is the center of her lower back. Her stomach is protected by strings through it in a light defensive barrier, making it so that hitting the stomach can't unwind her strings. Hitting the back hard enough though, and she can be rendered useless, as the strings that are wound through her body may be knocked out of place. Please note that this may or may not be possible with her sides.


Makoto​

Makoto's my second newest puppet. She was the first one to be able to talk. Her natural voice was a bit different, though unless the person she speaks to can tell the voice isn't hers, then she can be used to fool anybody, even her own family, that she's really herself and alive, especially having a beating heart like all six of these special puppets.


Makoto specializes in deception. She's often the one that plays initial distraction to confuse the opponent as to what's even going to happen. She often uses a scythe, which she'll some times pass to the others in the middle of fighting, to allow even more confusion from what's happening with the scythe. She's quite a tricky girl, and is also extremely good at escaping.


Makoto's weakness is that when she's all alone, her tricks are useless, as there's nobody to come in and suddenly take over when she fakes a hit. This makes for her to resort to her regular combat with her scythe, which she's still pretty good at, though isn't as good as the skills the other five puppets possess when her scythe skills are transferred to the respective form of the other puppets' skills. Her weak point is her right arm, which is where her strings are wound at. Given it's the arm she uses her scythe in, it makes it difficult to go after in the sense she protects the arm.


Makoto is, despite being my second newest, the strongest of my puppets in terms of skill, as she can produce more combat skills than the rest. She would be my second or third strongest, in terms of actual battle performance.


Asuna​

Asuna's my third oldest puppet, in terms of having been a puppet. She has black hair, as well as blue eyes that are similar to Kimiyo and Kiriyu. She's around fifteen or sixteen years old.


Asuna is skilled in defensive combat. She can block almost any kind of attack. She can mimic enemy movements within a sixth of a second of the action being performed, allowing for practical mirroring of the opponent. She's always the one taking hits for the others when they can't avoid it, or block it like Kimiyo can.


Asuna's weakness is her inability to actually strike at the opponent without some kind of distraction that makes it guaranteed to hit. All she can do in one-on-one is mimic the enemy's actions to make the fight last on until either she gets her strings unwound, or the opponent gets tired out. The point to hit her hard at to unwind her strings is her upper left arm, though that usually requires two people in order to do due to her mimicking.

Kotori is my second oldest puppet, in terms of having had as a puppet. She's around fourteen or fifteen, and has red hair. Her right eye is blue, while her left is red with a pink heart in the center. My second favorite.


Kotori is skilled in speedy combat. She moves extremely fast, using small, concealed weapons such as throwing knives and needles to her advantage. They usually have strings attached to allow for extra control of the field, as well as multiple use of the same weapon.


Kotori's weakness is her small body. It's easy to knock her down if you can keep up and get a hit. Her stomach, is her weakest point. While the puppets may be impossible to just break through due to their being preserved human bodies, hitting Kotori's stomach hard enough can unwind my strings and leave the body motionless, as it's the location of which the strings initially wound to keep control.




Yuri's seventh puppet is actually something very unexpected. Yuri herself is the seventh puppet. She only uses herself when absolutely necessary. She has all of the skills the other six puppets have, making for her to be proficient in every aspect of combat. Her entire body's wound with strings on the inside like the other puppets, except for they don't have a point of centering that can easily be knocked out. There is one spot on her that can be used to stop her without killing, and that's the very core of her strings; stabbing through it will completely, though only temporarily, disable all use of her powers.


There are actually four cores. One in each of her knees, and one in each palm of her hands.


Taking out one core makes her body get damaged faster through using her powers. On top of that, her powers become a little less under her control, making for the strings to sometimes move puppets on their own, as well as potential strings shooting out of her body on occasion in a defensively offensive manner.


Taking out two of her cores means further damaging of her body. She'll lose control of more use of her strings, causing some puppets to act of their own 'will'. The puppets that move on their own from her powers no longer under her conscious control become more powerful, as they have no restriction to their actions such as Yuri's conscious mind having to process what the target does before moving her puppets, or hesitation to try and kill or harm something.


Taking out three cores is where she goes out of it. She'll lose conscious limitations on her actions. This also puts heavy strain on her body, meaning she may cough up blood a lot, and even have random bleeding. This is when she truly has no control over herself.


Taking out all four cores is the worst, yet best thing that can be done to her. She'll temporarily lose all use of her powers, thus rendering her lower body immobile like it normally is. This though, won't have any extra harm towards her body. Rather, the damage caused by her use of powers will actually start to heal, as the cause of her body being unable to heal from the damage is the strings being wound through her body, unwinding allowing for healing.


One temporary of her powers occurs, she returns to a personality that was long lost since the day those closest to her died. She'll know of all the things she's done, but will feel as though they weren't her own doing, but rather, her powers. She'll become a sweet and caring girl, who one would find incapable of harming others.





Sub-Level?: (I will assign this)


Did they go crazy?: Yuri has gone crazy, though it wasn't because of her powers, becoming an experiment, or anything. She's been crazy ever since the day she, Nana, Maya, and Sera were attacked. Nana was brutally murdered right before Kurome's eyes, Maya was shot in the chest, and Sera was beaten half-dead. This caused Kurome's powers to first come to light. She used her strings for the first time, stretching the bodies of the two that attacked them with the most pain ever felt by human. She'd then proceeded to kill one by weaving the strings in their body and crushing their heart, while the other, was torn in pieces.


Sera died just shortly after from blood loss, and Yuri, who couldn't accept these facts, created puppets that looked exactly like the three close to her, controlling them with her powers and thinking that they're real. She can even hear their voices and holds conversations with them, though she always writes down her words on paper, rather than speaking. She does speak to her puppets when she's convinced that she's alone with them. She uses her powers to control various puppets as well, though none of them are as well-made as those three, as the miscellaneous puppets have no addition other than the body, the joints can be seen, and other details that completely show they're puppets.


Quick Personality: Yuri is a quiet girl, who never speaks. She seems friendly by her appearance, as she always has a gentle smile upon her face, but she's actually one to harm others. She can be creepy (as shown in the appearance picture), and is rather insane; no, traumatized beyond mental repair. She'll act fine and normal around you so long as you stay away from her three favorite puppets, and keep from calling them puppets. There's one exception to her never speaking, and that's when you anger her enough that she'll yell at you, which can only come from trying to get near her sister's puppet, or insulting her puppets.


Looks Description:


Yuri has white hair. She's always seen in a wheelchair, with the same white dress. Her eyes are a light blue, her skin matching the blue with the level of white coloring to it.

Nickname: Yu, Pacifist Yu, Yu of the Draw

Species: Human


Appearance: A young chinese man, plain and average looking, fit but not overly athletic, who stands at 5 feet 6 and has short black hair and wairs a pair of round glasses. Rather than dressing in eye-catching traditional chinese clothing he wears black slacks, a long-sleeved white shirt and black dress shoes.


Personality: A calm, positive person who is always in a good mood, friendly to anyone he meets. A strict pacifist who never uses his fists in anger, perhaps his most negative personality trait is his firm, unshakeable belief in the greatness of kung fu above all and his excessive praise towards the Wudang Sect.


Likes: Martial arts, meditation, peace, a good meal


Dislikes: People who abuse their strength, swindlers, cheaters, those who disrespect the martial way


Powers:


-Wudangquan: A synthesis of the kung fu styles practiced in the taoist monasteries of the Wudang mountain range and the counterpart to Shaolin Kung Fu in the martial world. By fusing techniques and approaches from the Supreme Ultimate Fist, the Eight Trigrams Palm, the Shape-Will Fist and the Open Gate Eight Extremities Fist, Wudangquan forms the ultimate internal martial art, one that focuses on the extreme cultivation and manipulation of Qi in order to strengthen the mind, body and soul to superhuman levels.


Yu Wenyan's style focuses on defense to a degree regarded by some as absurd, foregoing counterattacks in order to ensure complete safety not just for himself but also his opponents, who he refuses to harm. This fully pacifistic approach to martial arts, where he is neither harmed nor causes harm, has earned him the name of Yu of the Draw, as all of his fights end this way. After all, who could say that they've won when their opponent has not been harmed? And who could say that they've lost when no harm has come to them?


-Wu Wei (non-action): An ability (some would say concept) wherein the user enters a state of complete harmony with the Tao and behaves in a wholly natural way, without any attempt at control or exerting his or her own force, engaging in effortless motion. Achieving such a state would allow a martial artist to become truly invincible, able to display abilities where the only defense would be to achieve the same state. Of course, neither Yu nor any human has actually achieved this.


Striving for such a trascendent skill, however, grants martial artists a number of benefits, chief among them being a mind that resembles an impenetrable fortress, immune to outside manipulations such as psionic irruptions or mind altering effects. Other benefits include a certain difficulty in reading the warrior's body language and something of a sixth sense derived from their accumulated fighting experience, a "third eye" which allows them to sense danger and deception of all kinds, not just lies but also illusions or hallucinations.


Weapon of Choice: His own body, is proficient with the chinese straight sword known as a jian but his own ethics prevent him to employing it against an opponent.


Background Information:


The supernatural is not new in China. For ages the Jianghu, also known as the Wulin, the martial community of the country divided in various sects, schools and clans, has remained hidden from the public eye. Their exploits and legendary abilities spread around in tales and oral tradition, the kung fu of the normal people a mere approximation to the level of martial prowess displayed by this old, dysnfunctional society where might is one of the primary values. While the name of Shaolin is known and respected even outside the Jianghu, one must not forget their counterpart of Wudang.


Where Shaolin jumps, dashes and pushes, Wudang slides, turns and pulls. They are two parts of the same whole, equally acknowledged amidst the Wulin. However, where Shaolin has its 36th Chamber, where lay people are trained and inducted into the organization without the need to adhere to its strict Buddhist philosophies, the Taoist Wudang has few known lay disciples. Seeking to change this, Wudang recruited one of those few, the upbeat, pacifistic Yu Wenyan, and gave him the mission to attract laymen disciples to Wudang, enrolling him in a school far away from China.

Powers: Intangibility, kinetic manipulation (Like telekinesis except with force of spirit instead of mind), invisibility, minor flight, being able to automatically teleport into any school’s public girls room at any time, being able to scare anyone


Weapon of Choice: Scaring people


Personality: Hanako likes to have fun, and generally does so by scaring people. She may be an immortal being powered by over 70 years of bitterness and resentment, but she’s actually not exceptionally mean-spirited (Ba-dum tish). She doesn’t want to hurt anybody, but her stated goal is to get everyone in the world to pee themselves at least once in terror because she’s a ghost and that’s what ghosts do. On her off time, she can be found practicing calligraphy, origami, and other maidenly tasks like cooking and sewing. Despite often acting happy and carefree, she’s actually kind of lonely. Scaring people doesn’t make many friends.


Likes: Scaring people, origami, calligraphy, sewing, comedy (Especially manzai), bathrooms


Dislikes: People who are no fun, boredom, most adults


Background Information: Hanako the Toilet Ghost is well-known, especially in Japan, as the spirit of a girl who haunts the ladies bathroom in schools. This is that same Hanako, and when she found out about a supernatural school, she just knew that she had to try scaring people there to take her scaring to a new level.
 
Do you allow people to make teacher characters? Playing as teachers is my favorite part of being in school RPs.
 
I might make an Origins class teacher, then. Do you have a list of teacher initials? I've noted that a lot of the teachers are simple stuff like 'Mr. X" or 'Mr. Z'.
