Color and shapes started to come into view. Whatever that blinding device was, its effects weren't permanent. When Scratch grabbed her arm he could feel her body twitch fighting off a knee jerk reaction. The last time she was startled she hurdled a book into a wall and it broke through. The time before that, she pushed a teacher out of the way and crushed his rib cage...probably his lungs as well. The nurse had told her that she had almost killed him.
And here she was in a clearing....and god only knows what would happen if she allowed herself to fully respond, to fully just push this kid out of the way. He could go through a tree...have his back snap on a rockish boulder. All it spelled was death. So when he grabbed and her reaction initially was to push and run, she stopped herself.
It was just a stupid little F anyways. It wasn't worth hurting anyone.
As he guided his finger along to find a vein, thunder and lightning cackled, yet...the sky was blue. Scratch wouldn't even see her arm move just see that he no longer held the syringe. She did. "Wait. You heard that. Something's going on at the school. Can you handle another trip?" She looked up at him.
