Becuase the Jedi Order had become an arrogant shell of what they once were." Tanis said. "Seems everyone knows the events of the Great Empire Rebellion."
"Wait... but wasn't the Jedi Order completely wiped out shortly before the rise of the empire allowing Chancellor Palpatine to acquire supreme status and become emperor of the Galaxy and inevitably send out imperial death squads which hunted down nearly any and all jedi to the farthest reaches of the galaxy? If I'm not mistaken, the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine was destroyed and all of the Jedi were killed by the time of the Galactic Empire and as it is the Jedi temple led by Luke Skywalker was destroyed by Kylo Ren and the padawans were either killed or converted into the Knights of Ren to assist with the endless slaughter of those who follow the light side of the force." He said as he winced in pain.
"All of these events. These were thousands of years ago." Tanis said. "Things changed. The Sith and Jedi were reborn and died ten times over before I was born. The Grey order built a temple on Dantooine in the outer rim." Tanis said. (Tanis' time is actually way way after the evemts of the movies)

(I would say using an OC is, in my opinion, better than using just the characters at least then there's some semblance of originality involved)

Roxie's eyes widen before running over and picking Wisp up. Several of the clones started to bleed out from their wounds.
Eric had continued to follow the Jedi. "Okay so he's a real Jedi after all and not just some crazy dude. " his phone beeped and looked at the message he got. " well guess I have to go. Have fun with the demon."
"Not fully but we should still test it on you at least once and you can tell me if it is uncomfortable or anything you wish for me to add" Allyson said zoning out for a moment.
Erika nodded agreeingly "Hmmmmm. I shall test it as the body does need to feel comfortable." she said.
"AAAAAaaaaghhh ding ding ding! We got a fucking winner!" Daiko said as he stepped back gripping his chest (The pain subsides after a while. It takes a few days for physical contact to not affect him.)
"Well I'll just be off. I'm sorry that my being here is painful to you." He said.
"Never transform like that again." She said.
Eric laughed as he walked off.
"Hang on. You called this man a demon. Why?" Tanis asked. "Surely past all that profanity and rudeness he can't be all bad."
" the guy literally is a demon." He said. "He doesnt look human if you haven't noticed."
" I mean it okay " she said.
"Neither are Twi'leks and they aren't demons." He said. (Now I just need to bring Link back and I'll be done for awhile)
