"Wow it looks good in here to" she said
"I worked hard." He pulled a cake out of the oven. "I had the oven on warm so that it'd be fresh." He said placing it on the counter. It was a French vanilla chocolate cake that had the words. "Happy Birthday Karma." In blue icing.

"Go ahead." He said. "I made them for you anyway."
Happily, she took the pan of brownies and moved towards the door. Once she was in the hallway she turned around to say goodbye to Jackson who was in the doorway. She hesitated for half a second before reaching up and placing a small kiss on his cheek. "I'll see you later." She said almost like a promise.

"See you." He said watching her go back to her apartment. When she was out of sight he closed his own door and laid on his couch. "Ah... Doesn't get better than this."

Sarya made it back to her apartment where she sat on the couch thinking. What are you doing girl? You know what happens to people that get close to you. Maybe it will be different this time. She hoped. Do you really want to risk it? Did she want to risk it? She would have to figure that out soon. She drifted into an uncomfortable sleep there on the couch.

,"looks good" she smiled
"Thanks." He said. "Oh. I didn't have more than one candle." He said placing a candle in the cake and lighting it.

The next day he woke up and yawned. He began to cook some toast.

Sarya woke up more tired than she had been when she had fallen asleep. The question still plagued her. Did she want to risk it all? She needed to think. She quickly got dressed and went to the park. She was glad he had shown her somewhere to swim. swimming always helped to clear her head. She shed her clothes and dove in. She transformed and swam a few laps before drifting to lie on the bottom and think.

He had also gone to the park unaware that she was there. He was going to clean the lake like he said.

Sharya had been lying there for what felt like hours. Her eyes had drifted close as some point. She felt the water near her left side move and she sat up alarmed.

Jackson hadn't noticed her. He hadn't changed his lags to a tail but his feet were fine and his hands were webbed. He was grabbing trash and turning it into harmless dirt.

In the murky waters she couldn't make out how was near her but it was definitely human. She let out a small shriek as a warning to leave her alone, narrowly missing the person.

Jackson jumped. He used his Nanites to make the area around her more clear to see who attacked though it worked both ways and she could see who she almost attacked.

The waters cleared and she saw who the person was. She swam to him quickly. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" She asked frantically.
