"I was going to say bye." She said. "As much as joey does bad stuff, he tries to do good too. He's been through a lot." Diana frowned. "Need help packing?," this was probably the first time Diana hasn't tried to make someone stay.
"They weren't attacking innocents. Despite how misjudged it was they had good intentions" Peter said. "They're not wrong though. As much as I hate to admit it. Joey needs to retire from the mob," He said. "After this is over I'm going to tell him that, It'll probably ruin our relationship, but I have a responsibility."
"I was tryin' to do good. You all make it look so easy." Scout said. "I don't care how much he's been through. Dat doesn't get him an out of jail free card. Oh wait. Yes it does." He said. "I just... how can anyone say morals are a luxury when it's so much easier to just throw good will out the window... I... just... wanted to it to end. I'm surrounded by death all the time. It's my work. It's my life. And I love my job. Mostly because I'm shootin at the bad guys... but... Demy didn' do nothin wrong. So many people that he's killed have done nothin wrong..." He sighed and unpacked. "No... I don't want to leave just yet."
"have you tried talking with Joey?" Diana asked out of curiosity.
"People don't join because they want to... sometimes it's the only option they have." James said "The world is cruel, more cruel than you can imagine. As we speak, five little boys are having their guts cut open for the enjoyment of a sadist, a little girl just saw her parents get shot, and god knows what... If anything, Joey is a necessary evil who made a mistake and forgot to update his men. You look at his thugs as if they are the most impure people on the planet, when the reality is, they are saints in a world of demons. Last week... they stopped three trafficking rings with the help of SHIELD. Joey wants to retire, he needs to retire... but this world won't let him." James sipped his coffee "One of the girls we rescued, her father swore allegiance to Joey... He was at the meth lab just doing his job. And know, we let a loose cannon run free. What should we tell his daughter?"
"I'm not saying there aren't casualties." Peter said. "War has casualties. But you don't fix the world by selling drugs." He said. (So either Fury doesn't know or you think he's a lot less convicted to his country than he is. Aren't drugs considered a threat to national.security?)
(CIA invented Meth and heroin. But if you want, you can have Fury and Joey discuss things.) "Nor do you fix the world by nuking the Japanese, or murdering people." He looked at Peter "You say war has casualties... but I thought you were a hero, not a soldier. Someone who protects the people and brings people to justice, not someone who kills and creates his own justice."
"Oh please like he's interested in talkin' he'd give me the middle finger and then walk away. Or punch me... Or just straight kill me."
Diana shrugs. "I don't know its just a thought."
"I don't kill. I not a soldier. And I don't approve of what they did. Not one bit. They weren't right. But just because what they did was wrong doesn't mean that what the drug cartel's were doing is okay. (Yeah but it wasn't just out there for public use. And it was a lot weaker back then. Besides, Doctors created perscription drugs. Drugs themselves aren't bad. But misuse and unauthorized selling is)
Scout sighed. "I'm sick of dis. All of dat thrashin' about and he didn't turn off the machine dat.would solve the problem."
"This ain't a war Peter... If anything, they should be behind bars. Yet in this world, many people do wrong and get away with it... forget it. We're running out of time." James said "I just think you should distance yourself from Scout... people like that will corrupt you." A strange looking plane emerged from the street and hovered above the roof. A ladder emerged from the door "Shall we? Or will you be taking the Spider elevator?" James said as he grabbed the ladder.
"I never said that me and Scout were friends. Far from it." Peter used a webline to pull himself to the plane.
"He mostly destroyed weapons, things that hurt people but not the one thing that can help people. If you guys didn't use it to keep coming back it could be used to help people. Maddy once told me people get put on list to receive organs" she said
"Not my problem." He said.
James smiled a bit when Peter said that "Then I'm glad you made friends with Joey." He said as he climbed up the ladder. When they reached the top, SHIELD agents were inside loading up on harpoon guns and underwater weapons. "Spiderman, welcome aboard, we're the rescue party." The agent said "Everyone sit down and strap in. We are heading to the pacific now." The pilot said on the intercom as everyone got in their seats. "We're saving quite a few people today." James said as he got in and closed the door.
Diana shrugged. "I know"
Peter elected to stick to the ceiling. Fury came from the front. "Fury? This must be big." "Of.course it's big. While being one of my best agents, Joey's also got vital information that might help end this conflict peacefully. With the help of namore."
"I'll... Talk to Medic about makin' a new one."
"Okay. " she nods. "If you need me just call."
"Right." Scout said.
She walked off.
"This mission is still a rescue operation though." James replied "The plane is not just any... it's a hybrid." The plane shot forward causing a massive jolt to everyone "And fitted with special shock absorbers for a more comfortable flight. We will enter the ocean and save who we can." He began pushing some buttons on his seat "Prepping the ship for pressurization and the wings will dismantle when we reach the destination. When we enter the water, we will use our sonars to locate the Chinese subs, and drill into them from the doors. From there, we send our squads to save who we can. Unfortunately the Chinese intel did not list which sub Joey was on. There were 25 subs. Good news is we have five more planes joining us with SAS and Naval forces."
The massive change in G's wasn't a huge deal for Peter as he kept listening. "You know Joey told me not to come." He told James. Fury laughed. "If he didn't want you there he shouldn't of called you. You are attracted to trouble like Coulson is to Cap."
James chuckled "Probably reverse psychology." He said "Regardless, things are that bad. When we enter the water, be ready... Also here." He tossed Peter a flash drive "Plug that into the usb slot on your... whoops." He said "Um... rear... It's an upgrade for the suit to allow breathing underwater and increases the strength of the suit to allow you to fight as well underwater as you do above it."
Peter sighed. "Of course. Can the nano tech in the suit move the USB to a not so compromising position?" He asked.
