Before Blitz could jump in the shadow Kage closed the shadow hole with a laugh. "Nu-uh beefstick" she said, standing with crossed arms and a smirk. "I'm not leaving"

Zachary wondered what awaited him on the other side, whatever it was, he would be ready for it.

 

[VanRIPPED]

Blitz was so pissed, probably popped another vein, but he stayed calm. Inside the shadow realm the ground was completely black, some pools of black liquid that moved on its own accord here and there. The sky was a dark purple, black mist swirling everywhere. Whispers filled the realm, some violent and some calling for help or trying to sound soothing. There were dead black trees here and there, the branches moved like arms for there was no wind. It was muggy, not cold but humid and moist. Everything moved as Zachary set foot in there, the trees bending toward him and whispers aimed at him. He's alive. Not shadow.

Zachary had trouble seeing in this darkness, he made a fireball in his hand, which should provide them enough light to get around "This place is quite eerie, to say the least" the voices gave him the chills, he was never a fan of these kinds of situations, he looked at Blitz "Any ideas where we're going?"

 

[VanRIPPED]

As he lit the fireball the surrounding shadows shied away, shrinking back into the blackness. Their white eyes watched the two closely, some being human shaped and some being creature. In the distance there was shadows of small cabins or some sort that Blitz pointed to. "Lets make our vay zer, perhaps zer is somesing zer" he suggested.

"These shadows cannot handle light, good to know" Zachary looked toward the cabins "Fine, I guess" as they were walking Zachary tried sparking up a conversation "So, how long have you been Kage's mentor?"

 

[VanRIPPED]

The shadows followed where the light didnt illuminate behind them, still whispering. Dont hurt us. Can you help me escape? Where did you come from? She killed me. Blitz shrugged, staying quiet for a minute before looking back at the shadow's white eyes. He felt at least uncomfortable, his glowing red eyes reflecting in some pools of black. "I vould have started mentoring her vight ven she vuz born... I vus zer"

Lydia was refreshed by the run.It was hard to run with the sling but she managed.They ran over by a little hut housetyp thing."Whats that?" Lydia asked.

Zachary felt so damn uncomfortable, he was leaving all these voices behind, he wanted to help them, but he knew he couldn't, he knew this could all be a trap. "That explains why you two know each other so well..." Zachary sighed as he pulled out a little stone tablet, he held this with him at all times to summon Stonebeak, a rock eagle about the size of your handpalm, this time however he just wrote something on it


"In case she can hear us here, I'll just write this message down, that shadow kept fighting while controlling Kage's body, it is the reason she's in this position. And now, it's told me it's not going to give Kage the control back to her, I just played along, but I can't let that happen, and I'm sure, you, her mentor can't either, just wanted to give you a quick heads-up"

 

[VanRIPPED]

Blitz nodded as he read it. He didnt like this shadow at all and he wasnt going to let it control Kage. The voices hissed, pleading and begging for help. Blitz looked at the shadow trailing after them from the side, watching them closely. "Vunce she has your shadow and kills you with it, you become part of zis realm" Blitz muttered, half talking to himself and to Zachary. "But as seen, zer can be empty shadows vis no souls" He sighed. As they passed a tree its branches leaned down, catching Zachary's arm.

Zachary jumped up in fright, however he was now going to test his theory, he made the fireball bigger, convering a much wider area, including the tree, he wasn't going to let a tree bring him down after they just got here

 

[VanRIPPED]

The shadows screamed in pain, backing away. The tree let off a sizzling sound and a earsplitting screech came from it. Black liquid dripped from the burnt shadows as well as the tree. Stop! It burns! Please leave! You arent shadow! Stop killing us! The whispers got louder and louder as the fire got brighter to scare the tree's branches off.

 

[DramonFire]

"Stop approaching us then!" Zachary growled, he knew this could be futile but at least he tried. "Blitz, let's continue, this place gives me the shivers" he wasn't scared, everything just made him uncomfortable and nervous, the voices, the begging shadows, the trees.

 

[VanRIPPED]

Your the only live people here ever, wont you let us out? The shadows kept going, following just further away. Blitz was starting to get the feeling something was going to attack them. As they walked by a black pool an arm reached out from it, covered in the black liquid, and grabbed the closest person to the pool and started dragging them in.

"That's it!" Zachary slammed his hand on the ground, however nothing happened "Wha... My summoning doesn't work here?" he was perplexed, but he didn't have time, the fireball split into mutiple ones who grew evenly as big as the original did, providing an area of light around them, nothing could ambush them this time. Zachary was panting lightly, these required more force to maintain than they did in the real world. "This realm isn't linked to the Aetherus, I can't summon anything here, good to know that, this would've been much worse if I figured this out later."

 

[VanRIPPED]

The shadow growled, the black liquid burning off so it went back under but came back up all the way. It looked like a thing of horrors, it has normal sized human arms then smaller arms on its chest that wasnt that human. Its head resembled an angler fish, the light in its head ending with a hand on it and huge bulbous eyes with sharp teeth poking out from its bottom jaw. Torn fins were all over its back and a long fish tail flicked but it had legs too. It hissed, three tongues making themselves known. Using the thick black liquid it protected itself from the light until it burned off then went under and back up again. It grabbed at Zachary again with its clawlike hands.

"I dunno, someone's home, maybe?" Alice wondered, catching her breath.


"let's check it out!" Alex said, continuing his jog over to the hut, as though he had just started his run. Alice shook her head, and followed him, knowing she couldn't stop him.

 

[DramonFire]

Zachary wasn't fully recovered, however that didn't stop him, 3 fireballs surrounded the angler fish, they started to spin rapidly, and while still spinning clashed into the angler fish, giving them power of momentum alongside the burning.

The thing screamed in pain, starting to melt away when another one grabbed its leg and pulled it into the water with hiss at Zachary and dove back under. Blitz watched the pool, his eyes now disturbed. "Zat sing looked like somesing Kage described in vun of her nightmares as a kid" He growled.

Zachary pondered "That makes sence, we're inside her shadow realm, aren't we?" he quickly made sure that all blind spots were covered by light-emmiting fireballs as he quickly got away from the pook "We should hurry to those cottages, I don't want another one of those things trying to eat me"

 

[VanRIPPED]

Blitz nodded, walking toward where the cabins were. He was bothered by this whole realm, everything inside it and its... He didnt know how to describe it and he wasnt about to tell Zachary what he felt about this place.

 

[DramonFire]

"Hey, about that thing earlier, has she ever described these surroundings to you?" Zachary was curious about this realm, it made him think about Aetherus, even though he's never been there before, he knew there were souls there too, he wasn't sure however if it was against their will or not like it was around here, it still gave him the chills, even though they have been here a while. He slightly increased his pace, he wanted to finish this as soon as was phisically possible

"A lot of zem look like... Like her muzer. Of course, it vuz an accident ven her muzer passed on. Zoe it vus Kage's fault, I cant tell you how many times zeh girl has v'oken up from a nightmare about killing her muzer" Blitz said, flinching a little.

Zachary eyes closed as he looked down, he didn't expect Kage to have lived such a hard life up untill now, he could see now why she could be so unfriendly and mischievious. "That's... horrible" he couldn't pick words to describe his feelings right now, sadness, anger, compassion, the feeling of having no control over the situation... He clenched his fist, he was more determined to save her now, he still felt guilt about the fight and his brother, but that wasn't the main point why he did it anymore, he would do it for Kage now. His pace increased again, he was almost running toward the pitch-black cabins.

Blitz had to pick up the pace to keep up with him, his eyes straight ahead and still cold. As they got closer a big animal looking thing roared from atop a cabin. It sported big batty wings that were covered in fur, the body covered in the same dusty fur and his powerful arms and legs with a long tail and smashed into the cabin it was on. A long narrow head with red eyes instead of white shown at them, black liquid dripping from its mouth. A set of spikes were on its shoulders and had long fangs that reached down well beyond its bottom jaw. Its claws made score marks in the shadowy wood of the cabin.
