" Sorry your highness but it's a habit on mind staying on my guard. " Noctis replied. " I've been dealing with an evil empire back in my world. Said empire took my kingdom and my father from me. Even ,my bethroned and childhood friend. As royalty yourself ,if something similar happened to you,you might feel the same way,am I right? As for the Inkling, there is no way we're gonna hand over a friend!"

Inkling

With Bowser staring the group down like a hungry pack of Salmonids, Agent Three had to force themself to maintain composure. They defeated DJ Octavio, saved Cuttlefish and Eight from becoming purée, and stopped Tartar from ending the world, one overgrown turtle who just so happened to have totally beat them wasn’t going to scare them! At least, that’s what she told herself. Thankfully, that seething rage had simmered once Joker finally began explaining their side of the story, albeit with some sass sneaked in alongside it. He did as well of a job as anyone could, the rundown was brief but got to the point nonetheless. The inkling nodded in agreement. their way of saying ‘Yep, that’s the truth’.

With that it’d come as no surprise when she’d glare at Bowser boiling down the situation to them being the unreasonable ones for saving her from an army. But still, she took a deep breath. He wanted to hear the sleepy Koopa’s side of the story, at least that meant he was taking their explanation into consideration? And hey, with a jerk like Bowser being his boss maybe the Koopa wouldn’t try to suck up-

She’d catch a glimpse at the private’s cocky smirk and knew they were all done for.

Every single word that came out of that brown headed turd’s mouth was nothing but total slander! Every smasher and their mom knew she couldn’t speak English, much less insult him in any comprehensible way. And, by the Great Zapfish, Bowser looked like he actually fell for that load of junk! Heck, if he really wants her to insult them then she’ll go ahead and spit out some real insults for him to cry home about!

She wouldn’t even be able to hear the rest of the Goomba’s lies as she'd stare down the Goomba as he whispered into the King’s ear, pure fury filling her eyes. Glancing up to make sure that the king’s eyes weren’t on her, Agent pointed her finger right at the little turd and uttered some of the most vile insults within the Inkling language towards him. Thankfully due to the language barrier Bowser and Private Goomba wouldn’t actually be able to understand a single word, and even if they did it’d require far too much context regarding Inkling society to properly translate. But to give the most basic of translations, what Three said was something akin to “#$@%* Dudes Be #$@%* Sleepin” (She’d have to personally thank Pearl for that one later).

Her little intimidation act would be stopped short once Bowser finally pulled away from the little turd in pajamas as his eyes landed on her. She’d audibly gulp as he looked about ready to tear the entire group to pieces, only to suddenly switch to bursting out in laughter. Entirely unsure of what to do or think, Three found herself suddenly stress laughing along out of panic only to frantically stop as Bowser seemed to actually find what the Goomba claimed she’d said to be genuinely hilarious.

Trying to hide their own total surprise, Three gave a strained smile and thumbs up towards the laughing Bowser as they internally screamed. Well, looks like that actually had saved her in the long run. Did that mean she should thank the Private? Agent Three glanced in his direction once more, this time with an expression of utter bafflement. Wow, maybe she really should feel bad for these guys if their boss took that much joy from their continuous suffering. Not at the current moment however, as the King smoothly transitioned back into his collected composure. As frightening as that entire situation was, at least Bowser seemed to have finally come to a decision.

“-if you can just hand over the inkling to me right now, I'll let the rest of you off, scott-free. As far as anyone's concerned, we didn't see you.”

Oh. Well that seemed like a fair enough deal.

Wait a second…

There was no way he was trying to use her as a bargaining chip! Heck, by the sound of it he literally was trying to straight up but her! Gawking at the sheer absurdity, Agent Three quite clearly had enough of these situations. If Bowser was going to be like that then they’d much rather go back to dying in a blaze of glory.

That was the plan until Agent Three went to grab for her Splattershot only to accidentally glance back at the ongoing forest fire in the process. The smell of smoke was thick and heavy in her nose as she took in the wreckage littered around her. Enough to snap them out of it, Three put back her weapon, remembering that this wasn’t just about them. And…as much as she despised the fact, maybe they could use this to their advantage.

It seemed the others were quick to respond to the offer, the black haired guy hanging out with Cloud quickly protesting, mentioning his own kingdom back home. As terrible of a thing to do as it was, Inkling quickly grabbed his hand and whispered a quick “Shhhh!” before he could test Bowser’s patience any further. And before anyone else could put in their own two cents, Agent Three addressed Bowser directly.

Placing her hand on her chin, Three gave the most convincing expression of genuine consideration, mumbling to herself

“Meewah… devski?”

Shaking her head, she’d look up to Bowser, point to the others, and mime a talking motion with her two hands. Hopefully he’d get the clue that she wanted an impromptu team meeting as she wouldn’t wait for the beast’s approval before wrangling everyone in.

First things first, since she was the one being bargained for Agent Three thought it made the most sense that she’d give her opinion first foremost. However, with the language barrier, she’d need to get creative. Grabbing a nearby stick, they poked into the soil and began drawing something, squinting with intense focus. It’d take a minute or two but soon enough she’d proudly present it to the team

[Image description: A plan drawn in the dirt by Agent Three. Agent Three describes the group giving her over to Bowser, but instead of the cash payment, they request that Bowser put out the forest fire. Then Three depicts Bowser walking away with a kidnapped Three, only for the inkling to squid jump away to safety with Bowser looking on in surprise. The final image is Three reunited with the others. In the middle there is a word written in the inkling language]

———

“Woomy!”

As soon as everyone got a good look at the drawing, Agent Three quickly erased the evidence and cleaned the dirt from their hands. They’d give a small shrug, as if unsure in the plan’s validity herself but, seeing as there weren’t many options, they would be fully willing to try it. That is, unless someone had any better ideas.

" Wait, what arw you d..." Noctis asked Agent 3 in confusion. That is until he noticec her drawing on the dirt. The prince nodded to her before playing along.
" Are you sure you want to surender?!" He asked. " There is no turning back! Who knows what Bowser can do to you!" He then looked at Joker and nodded to him, mentioning him to play along.

Paula decided to play along with Inkling’s plan for now hoping it would end up working out and they wouldn't end up burnt to a crisp. If all else fails she has her powers by her side. All she could do is wait for the deal on both their ends to move forward. She can’t help but look in awe at Arsene; it reminds her of a demon in her story books. He looked really cool. It felt different than anything she’d seen on her travels for sure. Paula had definitely seen things on her mission like mushrooms whose spores can make a person feel strange. The end results are dangerous. She looked at Inkling hoping she knew what’s she’s doing. “ Bowser doesn’t seem like he’ll go easy on you, are you sure about surrendering yourself?” She cast a worried look at Inkling.

Samus watched silently as the mother Urasing rose to her paws, before setting off to meet with her cubs nearby. She couldn't help but give a warm smile at their family reunion, content that she did the right thing. Even with her injuries, the huntress was sure that the bear would make a full recovery. Silently, she watched the family look back at them both before running off into the woods.

With that said and done, Samus motioned Pikachu to come with her back to the ship. Though she was initially taken back to find the pokemon climb upon her armor and settle behind her helmet between her two bulbous shoulder pauldrons. As Pikachu bounded to Samus' power suit and nuzzled against her helmet, she could clearly make out the bounty hunter's green eyes from just beyond the visor. It was as if they provided a window into the warm soul that resided within the armor's cold exterior. Samus' expression softened as she gently patted Pikachu's head, feeling the faint electrical sparks buzz through her armor. They weren't nearly strong enough to cause anything stronger than a tingle, let alone cause any suit interferences, but it would be wise not to be within the path of a strong thunderbolt attack.

"Good to see you again." she said comfortingly petting the pokemon's soft fur, as they continued walking to her ship.

The trip back wouldn't take too long, nor did they encounter any resistance during it. A few species of poke-fauna could be seen or heard, but they kept to the deeper into the woods. None seemed to pose an immediate threat. But once they arrived, Samus' expression tensed as she witnessed her bright purple ship being looted by a group of flying men! It seemed like they'd only recently gotten here, with bits and pieces of the haul showing signs of being ripped apart. This was certainly not going to stand by her! Firing a warning shot at them, hoping they would scatter, the bounty hunter prepared herself as they stood their ground and made THEIR assault on them with rude vulgar expressions!

Her arm cannon flares to life - plasma surging through it - as it began shooting a number of homing missiles towards the approaching fiends, whilst quickly making her advance on her ship in the process. She felt like she had to be quick and careful not to get hit, less she wanted bits and pieces of her power suit to being ripped off too. And she knew all too well about starting back from scratch~

Pokey shoved a handful of potato chips into his mouth as the computer showed on screen Sora who made work of those primids earlier. Finishing his snack, he crumpled the empty bag. There was no point in staying here longer. He got up to find a way out of the facility. The 14 year old boy tried getting information from the computer. It seemed like someone didn’t want him to know too much. Pokey tried approaching the one way he believes is the exit. And the primids tried scaling the wall after Sora, or Pokey thinks that’s the case from his perspective. However, his sudden appearance created confusion among the remaining horde then they tried to have a go at him. He grins, fortunately for him he had the sense of stealing Giygas’s psychic power.

Giygas broke his own mind and the idiot couldn’t handle his own psychic power; he met his end at the hands of Ness and his merry band of friends. The boy would put this power to use,” I don’t have time for you, you morons! PSI Rockin Gamma!!” He shot a wave of psychokinesis energy at the primids who were reduced to nothing. He smirks, shifting his backpack onto his other shoulder. It's time to go now. Lucky for Pokey, his spider mech can jump to higher distances. He utilizes that feature of the spider mech getting him over the gap with no trouble.

He pressed a button it changed into a wristwatch it proved convenient for him. When Pokey started walking forward, he noticed Sora stuck at a fork in the hallway. A boy and his pet rat from the looks of it. He seemed unimpressed by Sora’s choice of clothing; the latter looked like he wore clown shoes. If he weren’t in such a rush he would probably give Sora some fashion tips. “ You two have room for one more person?” Pokey would proudly boast he's a useful companion to Sora and Pichu; he knows one of the deadliest psychic powers only Ness and Giygas know and a couple of healing spells as well as status effect ones.

Pichu

Dropping the hair from his mouth, Pichu couldn’t help but feel guilty for how his own panic so heavily contrasted with Sora’s genuine joy. Here the boy was so happy to see a friend meanwhile Pichu was screaming into his ear and pulling out his hair. While it may certainly be for understandable reasons, Pichu still was allowed to feel bad for it.

Letting out an apologetic “Pi…” the Pokémon curled up against Sora’s neck, nuzzling it with his cheek.

That wouldn’t last for very long as the Pokémon was nearly flung off of Sora as he clung onto the boy’s hoodie for dear life, the blaster wielding Primid eager to break up the moment between the two. Instincts quickly kicked in for the Pokémon as a crackle of electricity danced across it’s pink cheeks, thankfully away from Sora’s neck. Yet it wouldn’t matter in the slightest as he could barely force out a sparkle of electricity, much less anything that’d be able to deal with the enemy in any capacity. Thankfully Sora quickly picked up on Pichu’s slack, slinging a Blizzard spell at the Primid’s feet, freezing the creature solid. Despite the boy’s brief confusion, he’d snicker at the Primid-popsicle, to which Pichu would join in on, lifting his spirits just the slightest bit higher. But there wasn’t any time to dawdle as a flurry of Primids seemed to be pouring out from the halls so with Sora’s word, the two set off in the direction Pichu had pointed.

As Pichu held on, he’d feel Sora’s gaze fall over him, the worry clear on his face. He really didn’t look all that great did he?

Pichu tried to reassure the boy, wagging his tail and chirping out a “Pichu!” upon hearing Sora promise to get the two of them out of here.

A tantalizing hope, and Sora’s actions spoke even louder than his words. Pichu cheered the key blade wielded on as he mowed down the horde of enemies before them just by throwing his weapon into the crowd. Pichu stared on with wide eyes as the Keyblade reappeared in Sora’s grip and the two made their way through the newly crafted path. It wouldn’t take long for the Primids to recover as the chase continued on.

As Sora ran, Pichu's cheeks continued to crackle with static, the little Pokémon deep in concentration. Not having to run on his own meant he could recover his energy at a slightly faster rate, each shock becoming slightly bigger the more Pichu tried. By the looks of it Pichu would soon very well likely recover enough electricity to at least attack with it, all the more encouragement for the Pokémon to keep trying.

In his focus Pichu would fail to notice the sharp left turn Sora took, nearly causing the two of them to take a nose dive right into a bottomless pit. At the very last second Sora had managed to step back, saving them from such a fate.

“Chu…” The Pokémon sighed in relief. That was far too close for his liking, maybe he shouldn’t worry about his electricity output and instead focus on the pressing matter of making sure Sora doesn’t lead them to their doom. A wise decision but, with the sounds of Primid horde coming closer and closer, it seemed like they were trapped between either facing the horde or falling into the pit.

Ready to fight them off, Pichu turned to face the opposite direction, the sparks coming from his cheeks audibly crackling. But before he could jump into the fight Sora suddenly jumped towards the pit, Pichu just barely able to hang on for dear life. Expecting to fall to his demise, he’d cry out a terrified “PICHUUUU” Only to find that they weren’t actually falling at all.

Seeing glitter dance below Sora’s floating legs, Pichu realized he had totally forgotten about the boy’s ability to glide in the air, and boy was he sure happy about that. Overcoming the sheer terror felt moments prior, Pichu found the energy to spring back onto his hind legs and twirl, cheering out “Pichu Pi-Pichu!” at the falling Primids while the two made their landing on the other side.

Once they made their way to the fork in the road, Pichu sprung up onto Sora’s head after he’d asked if the Pokémon knew the way out. At the higher vantage point, Pichu sniffed the air for any sign of the exit’s location. He’d been using a combination of his natural instincts as well as the memory of his kidnapping to form a sort of internal map in his brain which had been working rather well for him so far. After a few moments his nose wiggled and Pichu’s head suddenly jerked to the left.

“Pichu Pichu!”

It seemed that Pichu had finally figured out the right path to take.
—-
1668227827169.png

His work done, Pichu crawled back onto Sora’s shoulder only to notice something huge and spider-like coming at them from behind.

Warning Sora with a “Pi!” He’d get into a pouncing position, only to falter upon seeing that it was just some child walking towards them.

He looked around Sora’s age, maybe a year or so younger. But, contrary to the inviting feelings that the keyblade wielder exuded, Pichu found that the boy gave the exact opposite of energies. He didn’t even know how to describe it other than something about him just felt far too…strange for this to be any sort of normal kid. If Lucario were here then he’d surely mention something about a ‘peculiar aura’.

As much as he really didn’t want to be anywhere near the stranger, even Pichu had the basic moral capacity to not leave a child in the middle of a monster infested facility.

“Pi…”

Wagging his tail in a come hither motion, Pichu reluctantly allowed the boy join the group without protest.

With that out of their way the Pokémon once more shouted out a quick “Pichu!” and pointed towards the left hallway. As soon as they got out of here, the sooner they could ditch the kid and his awful vibes.

Taking Bowser's nerd insult with ease, Joker gave a light shrug of his shoulders, though bit back the snarky remark that he wanted to say. Angering the king more than he already had was probably a bad idea, and the phantom thief was more than aware of it. Taking shot at him would likely be for the worse, thus he needed to keep himself in check for the moment until he could tell how things were going to play out. As Bowser continued on, a light laugh couldn't help but rise from his throat. He did have a point. Ren did have a knack for sticking his nose in business where it likely didn't belong, but if he didn't then who would? Someone had to be willing to take such risks, and that someone had been him. It was simply apart of who he was. If he hadn't stuck his nose into the business of others, he likely wouldn't be standing here now. He would have been nothing more than an average teen going about his life by normal means.

Quieting himself down, Joker shifted his weight as he tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants and listened to Bowser go on. Hearing his reaction to his previous words, the thief was more than prepared for all negotiations to end then and there. Mentally, he was prepared for the Koopa King to lash out on him physically on the spot, but to his surprise nothing ever came. Instead, more insults flew his way. His words hardly fazed the likes of Ren, though. After dealing with the insults of his peers for nearly eight months, he had become numb to such. Besides, slimy thief was hardly on the level of what Goro spat at him. Pushing the thought of his past to the back of his mind, the teen gave a curt nod at Bowser's words. "Completely understandable. Us thieves are masters of deceit after all. I implore you to get the other side."

Joker had no idea what the other side would present, but all he could do was agree. Hearing the King of Koopas call out for his minion called "Private Goomp" his brow quirked. It couldn't be, could it? Seeing the Goomba he had previously corner run forward, his expression briefly dropped. Of course it was this guy. Ren could only imagine what story he would pose. Would he drag the thief down, and create some story in favor of the troops actions? Was deceit something he was capable of? Joker was unsure, and admittedly, he didn't want to find out, yet he hd no other option. Rubbing his temples, he prepared himself for whatever story the Goomba had to share.

What was said certainly wasn't what Joker had expected, but it caused confusion to wash over his features almost Instantly. This had to be some sick joke. Did this Goomba actually believe Inkling had purposefully insulted them? She couldn't even communicate with most of the cast as is. It really was a misunderstanding after all, even if the thief hadn't known such. Glancing in the girl's direction, he gave her a questioning look, though his attention was immediately drawn back to Bowser as he gasped over whatever Private Goomp was whispering to him.

In that moment, Ren was yet again prepared for the worst, even going as far as to slip a hand from his pocket and hover it over the handle of his pistol, but when Bowser's laugh erupted out, his hand immediately dropped. Eyes wide in surprise, he was unsure how to take this turn of events. Yet again the king's gaze was cast upon him, while he pointed in Agent Three's direction. More insults, although this one was the weakest of the bunch, and this time he couldn't hold himself back from speaking out. "Well good thing I'm not known as Joker in the haha funny sense."

Leaving it at that, the thief recomposed himself, much like Bowser did. As the king continued and brought up the idea of a deal, Ren felt himself relax, although only slightly. It seemed his skills hadn't entirely failed him, though he doubted this result was because of him. Still, he'd take credit for it, or maybe not. As the deal was posed he couldn't help but scoff. Handing over Inkling for freedom seemed less than ideal. Even if he was a thief he had respect for those he fought beside. He'd never turn any of them over for his own safety. If anything, he'd sacrifice himself to assure their safety. That's what he had done in Sae's Palace after all.

Prepared to immediately reject the king's offer, Joker's sour words were kept to himself as Inkling spoke up. His eyes quickly moved to her, unsure of what she was trying at first, but he gestures for the group to join her was clear enough to him. Moving with haste, Ren joined the circle of allies. Seeing Agent Three take the lead as she grabbed a stick and began drawing out a plan, the thief allowed a soft hum of interest to escape his lips. The drawings were simple enough to follow, and they made it clear that she was okay with surrendering herself as long as they bargained for the jungle's fire to be put out. While her escape plan was worrisome, Joker knew he had to put faith in it. "I understand."

While the others seemed to want to take the route of putting on some act, Joker had other plans. He was the one bargaining with the beast after all. Turning on his heels, he moved back towards Bowser. While he knew this was a serious matter, and he was taking it as such, he wore his usual smug smile. Stopping before the king, he tilted his head upward to look him in the eyes.

"Well, I have good news for you," he began, all while placing a hand on his hip. "Inkling agrees to go with you, but..." Pausing, Ren moved his other hand and began to gesture at the flames around them. "In exchange, she would like you to put out this forest fire. It's as simple as that. No tricks, no lies." While the plan personally rubbed him in the wrong way, the thief still presented it firmly. He figured it would raise questions of their own, but all he could do was hope Bowser would accept. Extending a hand out, hoping for a handshake of agreement, Joker spoke one last time, "What do you say? Do we have a deal?"

Seeing the Pit's immediate reaction to Mythra caused Pyra to meekly smile. While it was nice to see the other felt sorry for upsetting her other half, the fire blade knew he hadn't been in the wrong. Mythra simply acted hard upon herself and any mistakes she might make. There was no changing that. She knew that better than anyone else given she had been created by the other as an attempt to keep her own strength concealed. It was hard to accept such a thing, but Pyra hardly let it bother her. She couldn't afford it.

Pushing the thought of it aside, her expression warmed as she gave a small shake of her head in the angel's direction. "You didn't mess up, I promise," she hummed. "Mythra just, well, beats herself up over things like that. Brings up bad memories is the best way I can put it." Getting into it more than that would likely cause Mythra to become more upset and begin telling her to stop. Pyra was more than happy to respect that boundary, thus she quieted down.

The awkward silence that came over the group was not unexpected. The aegis knew all too well about such silences from her journeys with a decently sized group. They always seemed to come after discourse among them. Typically, Azurda would be the first to break it, often offering Rex guidance of some sort, which in turn brought everyone else back around. There was nothing of the sort this time. Instead, the sound of Pit's stomach broke the lingering silence. Raising her brows, a soft giggle escaped Pyra's lips, but before she could be the first to act, she saw Toon Link perk up.

The clap of his hands was enough to draw her fiery eyes in his direction. Upon seeing his face beaming, she couldn't help returning the gesture. Following the two over to the place where their picnic would take place, Pyra sat down across from them, not minding sitting in the sand. Once she was seated, she noticed the Hylian offering soup to them, and respectfully, she gave a nod of her head. "I'd love some."

Hearing Pit kindly reject, and go on to say he had his own food, caused the blade to briefly question if she should have brought something. Mythra, do you recall if we needed to bring food along with us? For a moment, her head was silent and Pyra expected that the other was still too flustered to answer her, but soon enough Mythra's soft grumbles finally cut through. Not that I remember. Besides, we could easily cook once we arrived.

She supposed that was true enough. While many hadn't gotten to experience her cooking first hand, those among the roster that had certainly enjoyed it. Her own friends back home enjoyed it after, though Mythra's not so much.

Drawing herself from her telepathic conversation with Mythra, Pyra zoned back in just in time to hear Pit say something about catching everything. At first she was unsure what he was referring to, but as her eyes settled upon the box of food he had opened, her confusion was immediately answered. Seeing the walking carrot wander off down the shore caused the aegis to tilt her head, but chuckle lightly, nonetheless. His food was certainly interesting. Eyeing the cookies he had opened, she couldn't help but be reminded of Mythra's poor cooking. Was Lady Palutena really as bad as Mythra? Maybe it was something beings of light had in common with each other. Either way, she wouldn't stop Pit from enjoying the food he had. Insulting the goddess's cooking would likely only start a problem anyways.

Glancing towards Toon Link, she could tell he felt similarly to her. She couldn't blame him. Smiling politely in his direction, she gave a small gesture towards his soup. "How about the two of us enjoy that soup together while Pit enjoys his lovely meal?" Her words were too kind towards the abomination that the angel had, but that was just how Pyra was- always kind.

"I understand."

Pit did, indeed, understand. Though Pit was an upbeat and friendly type who was always happy to speak to others, he was incredibly tight-lipped when it came to his own history. A brief mention of being a prisoner of war many years ago was typically all he would say about it. This was often followed by a confident smile, a boast about how much stronger he and Lady Palutena have become since then, and a swift change of subject. An especially brave and curious soul may try asking Dark Pit for more details, but holding any lengthy conversation with the sullen angel was a challenge in itself. Pit was proud and stubborn, and getting him to open up and admit to something as simple as having a cold was like pulling teeth. Perhaps he and Mythra had more in common than one would think?

Toon Link opened the bottle of soup and held it out for Pyra to take (ladies first; his grandmother taught him good manners!) but he couldn't help but frown at her unwillingness to intervene. As Pit took out a cookie, the small Hylian realized he had to take matters into his own hands otherwise he'd lose his own appetite! Acting swiftly, Toon Link reached out and slapped the cookie out of Pit's hand. The cookie struck a rock before rolling onto the sand. The rock broke in half.

The two boys stared at the broken rock and shockingly undamaged cookie until a bird call snapped them out of it. A hungry seagull landed in front of the three Smash Brothers. Pit smiled kindly at the bird and tossed it a piece of his sandwich. The gull eyed it a moment, squawked in offense, and flew off. Pit sighed in defeat and stood up. He went inland, muttering something about finding fruit. He'll probably live longer!

Pikachu squeaked in alarm at the sight of the flying ogres and their brazen attack upon her and the bounty hunter. They were surprisingly fast, with most easily out-maneuvering the hover missiles while a few others whacked them away with the large sacks they carried. One flew out of the way of the missile and left the Pluton behind him to be hit. When the smoke cleared, the unfortunate Pluton was covered in soot, but only mildly injured. Durable creatures! A few nearby Pluton laughed, causing their comerade to scowl and shake his fist at them while babbling in a language Pikachu didn't understand.

As Samus rushed toward the ship one of the more fast-acting ogres reached out to her. Pikachu was too worn out to use any electrical attacks, but she still seized her chance to return the favor to her friend by leaping off of her and biting the thief right on its bulbous nose! The Pluton let out a roar of shock and pain, and flailed about in an attempt to get the rat to let go, his bag smacking into any Pluton unfortunate enough to be close by. This was a source of great hilarity for the other monsters and they all broke into laughter, Pokemon and bounty hunter quickly forgotten. Pikachu released the Pluton and ran after Samus as it angrily swung its bag at his laughing companions. The laughter soon turned into angry shouts as the fiends turned on each other, fists flying, bags swinging, and vulgar words and gestures being exchanged.

Feeling Pichu move to his head, Sora let the electric rodent go to work, figuring he would figure it out without any need for his help. Even so, he found it hard to stand by idly. Lifting a hand to his chin, he quietly stroked it in thought as his eyes scanned the area, though it really did him no good. Even if he used his best judgment, it still didn't guarantee he would be able to lead them out. A moment passed, and while Sora had gathered nothing, the sound of Pichu shouting.

"Huh? Did you remember the way?" he asked once the Pokemon was on his shoulder again. However, any time to get confirmation was put on hold as the sound of Pokey's spider machine. Turning quickly, his keyblade manifest in his hand, preparing himself for some kind of enemy. Seeing the mech come over the edge, Sora gritted his teeth, though he relaxed as he watched a kid his age come from it and condense it down into a wristwatch. Tilting his head, he lowered his weapon and watched the other teen move towards them. From the looks of it, he didn't seem to be preparing to attack them, which at least was good. Still, it was strange how he seemed to come out of nowhere though. If he had been following them he would have expected to hear him. He supposed it did matter.

Hearing the boy spoke, Sora's gaze moved towards Pichu, wondering how the rodent felt about letting this stranger join them. At first, he didn't seem to have much of a reaction, but soon enough he saw the small Pokemon wag his tail to signal the other to come with them. That was enough for the teen to vocalize their approval. "Uh, yeah sure. We have room for one more."

With that his focus shifted away from the newcomer, knowing he couldn't let this brief encounter stall them for all too long. It was only a matter of time before more Primids were sent after them and honestly, Sora hardly wanted to find himself swarmed by enemies. While he was confident in himself, he did have some concerns around his own magic, though perhaps the more combat he went through, the more the rustiness would wear off. Eleven months of sleep had done a number on him after all, and he was feeling its effects. He wouldn't verbally admit to such though, especially after promising Pichu he would get the two of them out of this place.

Pichu's shout pulled his focus back in. Seeing the rodent pointing towards the left, Sora gave a firm nod of his head. "Right, let's get moving again." Showing no hesitation, he pushed himself forward once again, immediately taking off in a sprint like he had before. He had no time to be wasting upon walking the halls. The faster they moved, the more likely they'd avoid getting cornered easily. That was all he wanted, and he was sure that sentiment was shared between them, or at least by Pichu. He was sure the other wanted to be reunited with all their friends much like himself. Besides, that was what they had all promised to do. Hopefully, the others weren't having as much trouble as the two of them though.

Putting that thought aside, Sora knew he needed to focus. Thinking about the others would only pull his attention away from the true goal. Allowing himself to listen to the sound of his own footsteps against the metallic flooring, he synced his breathing with them, allowing himself to find an odd sense of composure.

Keeping this sense of calm moving forward, the keyblade wielder watched as the hall quickly opened into a wide room, and on the far side, he could see a large, metal door unlike any of the others they had passed along the way. Faint traces of sunlight filtered in through the door's seams and joy quickly overcame Sora. "Look! It's the exit!" he exclaimed. His feet quickening, knowing escape was so close, but the moment he made it half way across the wide room, the lights went out and the sirens that had previously been blaring came to an abrupt stop as well.

Gritting his teeth, he knew something wasn't right. The sound of metal sliding across another metallic surface began to echo out in the darkness, telling Sora that somewhere around them a wall, or even two had risen to trap them inside. How had they known where they were? Had someone returned to the room full of screens after he had left? It was possible, but even then, did they really have the ability to trap them so easily? Whatever it was, it was clear that the three of them had to fight whether they wanted to or not. What were their enemies though? Eyeing the darkness, the teen could hardly make anything out in it. Even Pokey was too far from him to properly see. "Be on guard! Who knows wh-" he begun, but he would never finish his statement.

From above, Primids appeared. It was almost as if they had come out of thin air. The ambush took Sora by complete surprise, but before one could land on him, he quickly jumped back and lifted his keyblade up in a defensive position. "It's an ambush! Be careful!"

As Bowser awaited for Joker to accept his deal, Noctis would be the first to voice his displeasure; calling upon his experiences and attempt to throw it in his face. The Koopa King couldn't help but roll his eyes before snarling. "Yeah yeah, sad story BUB." he growled dismissively at this vague Cloud Strife-wannabe, "You know how many times I've heard that story cliche? A LOT. And I'm sick of hearing it! So quit yer blubberin' and let's get on with the deal before I change my mind."

The inkling, however, would interfere on Noctis' behalf, grabbing Bowser's curiosity back to the person of interest. Silently, she gave a number of expressions that appeared to be her way in asking for a private group meeting with the others. Thankfully, he understood the notion; and while he produced a suspicious side-eyed glance at that offer, he couldn't help but be fair in this instance. "Alright, fine." Bowser said reluctantly with a wave of his hand, "Ya got five minutes to talk it out. That's it. Make it quick, I don't have all day!"

The mighty Koopa King kept his foot perched upon the tree stump, staring impatiently at them while he awaited for their final offer. His gaze would only be broken by the occasional yawn, or slapping his arm to swat a pesky mosquito buzzing around him. He felt quite confident about this transaction going his way, so much so that anyone trying to tell them their thoughts were immediately shutdown or flat-out ignored by the arrogant king. To him, it would be foolish of them not to go through with it, unless they didn't value their insignificant lives. He believed it was fool-proof. Though he also wondered what they were doing over at their side...

Once they seemed to have gotten their affairs in order, Bowser's attention perked up with a smirk as he leaned towards Joker. "So? Do ya accept?" he optimistically asked, with one of his eyebrows raised in hopeful gleaming. It started off just as he suspected - the inkling was going to go with him. His eyes widened in anticipation, with his smirk quickly turning into a toothy grin. "Excellent!" he said impulsively, "Now hand her~!" Then the phantom thief added the "but", and Bowser's expression immediately revered back to a dulled disappointed look. Of course they just HAD to alter the deal. But what Joker counter-offered was the inclusion of the condition that they put out the forest fire in return for giving the inkling to him; swearing to refrain on any kind of tricks and lies.

That was it? No kind of complicated bartering?

Bowser paused for a long moment as the opposing side gave out a hand for the both to shake on it, his brow furrowed and eyes glaring intensely on Joker. It would seem as if he was running the numbers in his head from their perspective, unsure if he truly wanted to go about it. Why would they care about this random jungle in the middle of this chaotic realm? What kinda tree-loving hippies are they anyways? Then again, the offer could've been a lot more unfair. His throat reverberated a long sigh, before making his decision.

"Deal." The Koopa King said somewhat reluctantly as reached out and shook Ren's hand with a firm grip. His mighty hand was big enough to easily grasp around his head like a mega mushroom. There was a quite commotion coming from his minions in the background, discussing the nature of the deal through hushed whispers and murmurs. As he let go, Bowser snapped his finger for two Hammer Bros to come collect Agent Three. As they walked off towards the Elite Trio, he gave an exasperated sigh before taking a solid look at the rampaging inferno that he had to clean up. "Ugh," he growled unwittingly with the realization of the task before him, "This is QUITE the task.... If only Kamek was here to take care of it~"

And if right on que, the very blue-robed, spectacle-wearing magikoopa that was mentioned came quickly descending from the sky upon his flying broomstick. "Master Bowser!" Kamek cawed as flew up next to his liege, "I hope I am not too late. Has the trouble been throughly dealt with?". Bowser turned to greet him as if he was surprised by his sudden appearance. "Ah! Perfect timing!" the Koopa King exclaimed with his arms extended out, "I need you to do something for me real quick." The magikoopa gave a respectful bow, still hovering upon his broom. "Always at your service, my liege! What would you have me do?" The shelled beast then proceeded to point his pointy-clawed finger at the forest fire around them. "Made a deal with these folks that I can get one of their folk in exchange for extinguishing this here forest fire. I need ya to take care of this, pronto!"

Kamek's agreeable posture stiffened once hearing the supposed deal explained to him. His head cocked towards the group for a moment, as if skeptical of the group's intentions, before turning to face Bowser once more. "A... deal you said?" he asked him with lowly concern, "That they made?"

"No no!"
King Koopa grunted as he began to explain, "I offered the deal that they bring that inkling girl over there to me and I get to let them go, but they added under the condition that the forest fire is taken care of."

Kamek seemed less then bemused by what he was told. Something about this seemed off to him. REAL off even. There was a long uncomfortable pause, before Kamek's shifting eyes rose his hand at the heroes. "Excuse us for a moment." he called out, showing them that they now wanted a private meeting of their own. The two then turned as the minions continued to keep their guard upon the heroes present.

Meanwhile, the robed magikoopa gave a deep breath, as both of his hands touched together. "Master Bowser." he referred to him bluntly, "With all do respect. And I mean ALL do respect, as your formal advisor since you were a wee-prince... I hope you realize that this sounds like an absolutely TERRIBLE deal!"

Bowser seemed genuinely confused by his advisor's worrying, if not already annoyed. "What do you mean, TERRIBLE deal? I got what I asked, and now I'm upholding MY part of the deal."

"Your horribleness, these fighters are NOT to be trusted!"
Kamek screeched under his breath, "You ought to know this! I have the feeling they're gonna take advantage of~"

"Oh quit your complainin' ya old hoot and get on with it!"
Bowser barked hastily, again shutting down any more of his thoughts and warnings afterwards. Only after a long frustrated sigh did Kamek seem to finally submit to his orders with a disgruntled grumble. "Very well... Master Bowser. I certainly hope you know what you're doing."

With that, the magikoopa's wand began to glow a rainbow-colored hue as he took to the air high above the roaring flames. Magic rainbow-colored dust and shapes fell from his scepter as he flew over the enraptured fire as fast as he could fly, being seen entering and leaving against the dark thick smoke clouds. Eventually, within roughly a minute of quick adamant flying, the forest fire began to subside; leaving only smoke and ash to litter the jungle floor and scorched stumps. The tired, ash-ridden Kamek returned to Bowser and rose his wand up in confirmation for both parties to see. "The fires... have been dealt with." he stated through tired breaths as he lain slumped on his broom.

"Very good." Bowser snorted with a satisfied smile, as he glanced back at the heroes. "Well? There ya go! Hope yer all happy. A real pleasure doing business with you lot. Now get lost!"

With the deal concluded and agreed upon, King Koopa proceeded to call back his forces with a sharp whistle, as they all slowly made their way back to camp with the inkling now in their clutches. Bowser would carry their prized captive in his hand, while Kamek flew nearby, surveying the surrounding area in case the heroes decided to make any moves behind their back.

Samus was confident that a single regular missile was enough take out each one of these little flying rascals. It would certainly make her job in managing the rambunctious horde a lot better. Yet when one did hit, she'd find that particular creature still alive and kicking, left only with relatively minor injuries. Blast those cursed things! They seemed to be more durable then they initially let on to be. Nonetheless, it was only a minor set back; one the bounty hunter can still take care with relative ease.

Rushing towards the ship, Samus would see as one of the ogres attempted to nearly grab ahold of her suit. Yet Pikachu would come to life just at the nick of time, jumping off her partner's armor and biting the thing's poor nose. Had it not been for her interference, no doubt a piece of her armor - or worse yet an upgrade - would've been snatched away by the creature's writhing fingers. The others seemed to have gotten a kick out of it, laughing and throwing out intangible insults at the misery their friend was in, only to stop once it was thrown back in their direction and squabble amongst themselves.

They certainly weren't the brightest creatures; something the bounty hunter was sure to take advantage of.

Still running forth, Samus aimed her cannon at the distracted ogres and began preparing a charged shot. It began to glow brightly once more, as hot plasma surged through its compartments just begging to be released. Propelling herself off of a log, the armored warrior leapt into the air with elegant grace and fired at the cluster of enemies. She only hoped that they were all distracted and close enough to be caught within the blast, provided it hit its mark.

Princess Peach

"I do wish you would wait for Master Mario and Master Luigi to accompany you, your highness..." Toadsworth sighed as he fretfully walked beside Princess Peach as she was getting ready to depart for the Smash Realm.

"No," Peach refused, plain and simple, adding, "I... I just need to do this. On my own."

"But--"

"No buts!" The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom protested, and while she didn't like interrupting Toadsworth, she knew she HAD to put her foot down or Toadsworth would just talk her down from it like he usually did if given the chance.

"I still don't see WHY it is so important to you to do this ALONE! And what if that blasted King Koopa is there already!? You will be in a totally new land alone and without Master Mario OR Master Luigi to save you!" Toadsworth kept beckoning.

Peach frowned when introduced to the very REAL possibility Bowser was already there, but this fact would (unfortunately for Toadsworth) only FUEL her ambitions, not deter them. The princess had plenty of pent-up rage and frustration (and a good portion of it stemming from said King of the Koopas) that Bowser was more than welcome to.

"Then... Then..." Peach began, suddenly finding herself reaching for and gripping her ever-trusty frying pan, suddenly begins to wield it like it was a sword, adding, "I'll just give him a smack with this! I've been training, you know!"

"Yes, but, Majesty, at least--"

"I won't be the damsel in distress anymore, Toadsworth... And even IF Mario and Luigi don't make their way to the Smash Realm, I still have friends there! I was the one who suggested we try to reunite last year, after all!"

"Yes, but you and Mario BOTH agreed that the two of you would go toge--"

"I know what I said! It's just---" Peach began, being very unladylike in losing her temper, and quickly remedied her tone, especially when reminding herself she was talking to her beloved Toadsworth, continuing, "Things... Just... Got complicated is all... I need to do this. Not for Mario. Not for Luigi. Not for Daisy... For ME."

"Princess... Mario cares for you... Very much..."

"I know that... It's just--" Peach began, then took a deep breath, "I know how I feel isn't exactly one-sided. I think that's the problem... Even if he WOULD choose me... Would he be happy... Being the KING of Mushroom Kingdom?"

"Oh, Of course the ol' boy would! Why, he'd--"

"He'd say he would. For me. To be with me. But I don't think he really would... Toadsworth, you've seen him galavanting on so many adventures... And that's where he's happiest: Being out there and exploring everything the world has to offer..." Peach sighed, more and more disheartened with every word she spoke, "Yes, he's happy to live near Mushroom Kingdom and be among us as the HERO of Mushroom Kingdom... But that story might change drastically being KING. He'll be stuck in meeting after meeting with me... Obligated to do everything I am... Mario isn't going to be happy cooped up in this castle signing this or that or meeting with some mucky muck nobles day in and day out... He's happiest with his friends and brother adventuring... And being with me... It... It will take that away..."

"You can still go on adventures with Master Mario, Princess..." Toadsworth consoled her and placed a comforting hand on her gloved arm, continuing, "It... Well, it won't be as often as he'd like, I'll admit, but... I believe Mario would be happy just being with you... Cooped up or not..."

"And... If he isn't...?" Peach dared to ask after she inhaled a moment.

"...Then maybe Master Mario... Isn't the one for you..." Toadsworth simply stated, matter-of-factly.

"...That's what I'm afraid of..." The blonde princess hung her head, "And that's why I have to do this. Without him."

"...There really is nothing I can say that will change your mind, is there, Princess?" Toadsworth finally mutters after an uncomfortable moment or two of awkward silence.

"...No. There isn't," Peach hesitantly answers as she knows her decision is hurting the only father figure she's ever had.

She couldn't let that stop her, however.

Not this time.

"...I'm sorry."

She looked down to offer Toadsworth a farewell hug, but gasped as she found tears beginning to stream from his eyes!

"Toadsworth! Oh, please, don't cry! I---!!"

"N-no... No... It isn't that, your highness... I was just thinking how proud your parents would be if they could see the brave and benevolent ruler... and woman... You've become. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey."

Getting misty-eyed herself, the Princess of the Mushroom embraced her father figure one last time before setting off into the distant land where many worlds collided...

"Mmmmm...Wha...?" The pink princess woozily slurred while waking up in the middle of the woods, wiping the embarrassing drool off her face as she shook her head to rush herself awake.

"Geez... I must have dozed off... I only wanted to take a break for a second..." Peach thought to herself while getting up, wiping off dirt from her dress, and walking forward.

She had actually gotten lost almost the moment she entered the realm, which didn't bode well for how the rest of this "trip" would go, Peach was certain, but there was nothing for it now: The best she could do was put one foot in front of the other and hope each step was closer to... Well, she'd settle for anything at this point!

She wasn't sure if her "luck" had run out or not when she heard blasting not too far off in the distance, but beggars weren't exactly choosers!

Lifting up her dress slightly, the Mushroom Princess ran toward the less-than-good-sounding blasts as fast as she could and hoped against hope it was an ally she was heading towards and not an enemy!

Peach's heart was racing as she got closer and closer, until finally---

Oh! There they were, like a sight for sore eyes: Samus and Pikachu! She didn't exactly know what they were fighting, but it was clear they were bad news.

The Mushroom Princess scanned the scene more clearly with her sapphire blue eyes and frowned as she saw those... Whatever they were... AND Samus' blast aimed toward them... It seemed kinda close but there was a chance it might miss if those things caught on soon enough. Funny enough, unless Peach was seeing the course of the blast wrong, they might all get hit with Samus' shot if they were on a path towards the Princess' position...!

"Ah!"
Peach gasped as she got an idea of what to do.

"Yoo-hoo! Over here~!" The pink Princess cried as she suddenly jumped into a more clear view of those ogre-like creatures and began making silly faces to taunt them, hoping that in now targetting HER they'd run straight into the blast---!

Pikachu, back by Samus's side, watched with fascination as the Pluton Flies battled amongst themselves. She didn't know what they were screaming at each other, but it sounded similar to the language she sometimes heard the Kid Icarus fighters use when they wanted to speak to each other privately, or when Crazy Hand, in an act of mischief, turned off the "Gift of Gab" magic that allowed the Smash Brothers to be able to communicate with each other (such a spell was put into place after the Melee tournament, when Roy and Marth joined. The spell isn't perfect, as evidenced by Pokemon and Inkling fighters.) In fact, they sounded a lot like Pit after a haggle attempt went awry! Pikachu wondered if everyone in that world was like that, the thought quickly dismissed when Peach suddenly appeared!

The Pluton Flies, beaten and battered, turned their attention toward Peach as she called to them. Upon seeing her and the taunting gestures she made, hearts sprang to their eyes. Clearly, they adored a woman that could mock and taunt as well as they could! They beat, tripped, and stumbled on each other as they rushed to be the first one to reach the princess. There was a KA-BOOM, and the Pluton Flies were suddenly among the clouds, sent flying by raw explosive passion!

Or by a fully charged shot from Samus's cannon!

Pikachu sat on the ground, her eyes trailing the flight trajectory of the Underworld fiends until they vanished into the far distance, a tiny star briefly twinkling after. She sighed in relief then waved at Princess Peach. "Pika-piii!"

Taking some of the soup for herself, Pyra quietly watched as Toon Link swatted the cookie from Pit's hand. Following its trajectory, the aegis was surprised to see it hit a rock and instead of shattering, the rock split instead. Were they truly that hard? She could hardly believe it. She could not have even anticipated the cooking to be that much worse than Mythra's. At least her other half's cooking was edible, although edible was a strong word in regards to the blonde's food. It did more harm than good after all. Still, it was nowhere on this level of crazy. Maybe she should have stepped in and done something about it. Too late for that now.

Sighing softly to herself, Pyra focused her attention on the soup instead. Allowing herself to sip up the soup, she couldn't help but smile. While she hadn't known what to expect in terms of flavor, it was surprisingly quite nice. The smile on her lips confirmed as much. "This tastes absolutely wonderful! Thank you for sharing it with me," she chimed out before holding the soup container back to Toon Link.

Satisfied with her brief meal, she looked towards Pit as he stood up. The seagull's rejection of his food clearly had been enough to get him up and moving. He didn't even mention where he was going exactly, only uttering something about fruit that Pyra was lucky enough to pick up on. Gather fruit wasn't a bad idea. Even if it wasn't all eaten before they departed, they could still offer it to the other fighters once they were all united again. That thought alone was enough to get the aegis to climb to her feet, but the thought of leaving Toon Link on his own caused her to stop. Perhaps letting Pit gather his own food was best.

Coming to such a conclusion, Pyra brushed the sand from her legs and turned to face the sea that sat before them. Despite everything that had happened thus far, it was a peaceful sight to take in. Sucking in a deep breath, the blade let her shoulders drop before she turned to face her companion once again. "Do you think what we were told about the Hands is true?" she asked, wondering what the young Hylian's opinion on the matter might be. "It's hard to believe given how peaceful everything looks here, but it would explain why the portal from Alrest to here was messed up. Still, I thought was had taken care of the threats here. Is it really possible for another to be rising already?"

She knew her rambles would only receive minimal reactions in terms given Toon Link's usual muteness, but it would be more than enough for her. Any kind of answer was better than letting the thoughts remain in her head, unanswered.

Toon Link smiled brightly as Pyra complimented the soup. He had made it himself; he often watched his grandmother cook. It will never be as good as Grandma's, though. Toon Link eagerly accepted back the bottle of Elixir Soup. Grandma's recipe made two servings and one was still left for the young swordsman to enjoy. Toon Link downed the rest of the soup and let out a loud satisfied sigh. He slipped off the driftwood and rested his back against it, closing his eyes to take a nap before Pyra's words reached his long ears.

Toon Link got back onto his feet and joined Pyra in watching the sea. He lived his life on sea, yet he still appreciated the peaceful and beautiful view of the beach. In response to Pyra's question, he looked to her and shrugged. Who knew? The Smash Realm always had its troublemakers: Koopas, Kremlings, Moblins, and more. Maybe the Hands were on vacation, and the rascals have all decided to cause mischief while the bosses were away? Toon Link pondered what two giant hands with godly powers did for vacation. At Pyra's last question, he dismissed the thought and clapped his hands behind his head, grinning from ear to ear. Even if something happened to the Hands, Toon Link was certain it was nothing the Super Smash Brothers can't handle. Surely, whatever this new threat was is nowhere near as terrible as Galeem and Dharkon!

Pit followed the river delta northward. Usually such places were fertile, so finding some sort of edible plantlife shouldn't be too difficult a task, right? And if not, maybe he'll get lucky and find an item box with food in it. As he moved further inland, the feathers on his wings fluffed up slightly. Something was wrong: it was way too silent, way too empty. He couldn't hear any birdsong, the buzzing of insects, or the pitter-patter of a wandering Waddle Dee or Goomba. Grass crunched under his buskins as though it were made of plastic. As colorful as the Smash Realm was it felt... lifeless. It gave the angel an eerie, creepy feeling, like something was going to jump out at him at any moment! Perhaps the Hands really were gone...

He really wished the RPer would link some sort of music in this post just to break up the silence.

Pit waited. Realizing that such a thing was not going to happen, he decided to create his own background music by humming the Overworld theme. His humming halted when he saw the familiar leafy stalks of an underground vegetable. With a triumphant laugh he grabbed the stalk and yanked, pulling out a turnip so rotten that its wrinkled face oozed as it moaned. Pit let out a horrified shout and chucked the vegetable away from him, immediately wiping his hands on his exomis afterwards. Ugh, so GROSS! He shuddered as if trying to shake the disgust off him, then took a deep breath to calm his nerves. That almost killed his appetite. Almost.

His scowl changed to concern as he gazed upward at the sky. Now he was really worried about Phos! Will the unicorn be able to find good vegetation, if he was even still alive-- NO! Pit shook his head, violently dismissing the thought. No, he will not think of the worst! Poor Lux would be alone! He wouldn't be able to face Dark Pit! He knew his twin loved the unicorns as much as he did; Dark Pit will never forgive him! Pit had promised the poor Chariot Master that he'd take good care of the Lightning Chariot. Phos is still alive, and Pit WILL find him!

Struck with inspiration, Pit took out a whistle. It was a small thing, golden and decorated with little angel wings. Once the whistle was used to call Centurions, but ever since he and Lady Palutena began working together on missions the Goddess was simply able to send troops by her will, so Pit repurposed it by training Phos and Lux to come at its call. Pit took a deep breath, then blew hard into the whistle, its shrill note echoing through the empty sky. The angel blew until he was forced to take a breath. His eyes searched the skies.

Nothing.

Samus would only faintly hear the distance cries of a certain damsel singing in the background, her adrenaline focused on the enemy at hand, as her aim struck true against the flies. A satisfying cackle and boom were enough to send the rattling band of misfits flying into the distant canopy and beyond! The armored warrior landed with with her arm placed on the ground; her cannon outstretched to the side in an elegant landing that seemed uncharacteristic with armor like her's. At last, the threat have been finally taken care of. While the ship seemed to be missing a few exterior panels, Samus was confident that they didn't breach into the interior module. A stolen warp-drive or fuel cell would certainly complicate matters for her mode of transport. A deep inspection was certainly in order before she'd depart.

Raising back to her feet, the bounty hunter immediately scanned the area for where Pikachu happened to be. Thankfully, she wouldn't have to look far, quickly finding her nearby... waving to someone. So Samus wasn't the only one to have briefly heard a voice during the fight. Her visor followed the Pokemon's point of view, leading her to the visage of yet another familiar face waiting for them from the sidelines.

And what it face to encounter in these neck of the woods.

Samus' eyes widened as she bore witness to the arrival of none other than the blonde majesty of Princess Peach; ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and the organizer of this year's entire reunion! Quite the surprise to find her here of all places; let alone on her lonesome. But given how she found the entire realm to be in total disarray when she warped into this realm, who knew what someone would encounter? From vicious monsters to malevolent entities, it was always a welcome sight to see a familiar face within a sea of chaos. The bounty hunter lowered her arm cannon and proceeded to approach the pink damsel with haste. Samus easily stood a head taller than the Princess once standing right in front of her, but she never allowed herself to be imposing down upon the gentle soul before her. She even gave a light bow to her out of respect.

"Your highness." Samus greeted with a vague hint of playful jest amiss her otherwise professional tone, "Quite the unexpected arrival, but your presence is always a welcomed one."

Inkling

Though Agent Three gave a confident smile towards the group as they questioned the dangers of their plan, in all actuality they were quite surprised at how quickly they accepted the plan without protest considering how barebones it was. Perhaps with the limited time and how long it took to draw their idea nobody else had been able to think of anything else. Or, maybe they trusted her and her status as an agent well enough for her to be able to make things work out, which as confidence boosting as it was, still didn’t exactly solve the issue. Not that there was much anyone could do about it considering their time was officially up. Guess now they had no choice but to go with the flow.

Agent Three tagged along behind Joker as he walked towards the imposing Koopa, their expression relatively blank compared to the thief’s own cocky grin. Bowser seemed absolutely delighted at her willingness to accept the deal as Agent Three took in the toothy smile that stretched across the turtle’s jaws. Yet, as Joker relayed the new conditions of their trade, Agent Three watched as that smile melted back into a frown of disappointment.

They’d try and imagine what the turtle might be thinking in those moments, anticipating the worst yet still hoping luck would be in their favor. There couldn’t be any way that Bowser would find stopping the forest fire to be any steeper than his prior demands, right? If anything, maybe the group had been far too meager in their demands, causing the Koopa to suspect their real intentions. After all, Agent Three could imagine someone as heartless as him not caring the slightest about the jungle and all of the life within it burning to ash. Well King Koopa, some people happened to care about their impact on the environment. The Great Zapfish knows just how much humans had absolutely destroyed the Earth that Agent Three came from. But they were getting way off track.

The sigh that came from Bowser’s mouth caused the inkling to stiffen, dreading what next words could possibly come out of the Koopa, only to breathe out in relief as he took Joker’s hand into his big meaty claw, setting the deal in stone.

“Woom-ACK!!”

Any further joy to be had would be quickly halted by a set of arms immediately restraining Agent Three’s movement. Her basic instincts telling the inkling to fight back, she’d immediately try to shove the two away, only to remember that yes, this was a part of the deal, and reluctantly stop resisting.

Glancing back at the others, Three tried their best to form a peace sign with their hand, though with the two minions holding their arms down they doubted they’d actually be able to see it. Save for that, Agent Three remained still as they watched something pierce through the trees and fly down to greet the party. Some kind of wizard by the looks of it. He and the King would share a few words before forming their own team huddle. Thankfully from where they were standing the Inkling could make out some of the conversation.

They were pleasantly surprised at how willing Bowser was to keep his end of the bargain, as despite the honestly justifiable suspicion that the wizard held, Bowser seemed to stand his ground on the matter, insisting that the deal was perfectly legitimate. Gosh, it would’ve made her feel bad for tricking the guy if he weren’t such a terrible guy in every other respect.

Agent Three quickly looked away as the two soon split apart, the wizard seemingly haven lost the argument. With visible reluctance, Agent Three watched in awe as the wizard soared back into the air, the tip of their scepter glowing with a soft rainbow hue. Soon glitter of the same color began raining down over the forest, calming the fire into a simmer and then to nothing but smoke and ash. Seeing the glitter fall from the sky reminding Agent Three of snowflakes as they’d stick out their tongue to try and catch some, only to recoil in disgust as a hunk of ash fell down on it instead.

“Bleh!”

Spitting the awful taste out from their mouth, they wouldn’t have any time to notice Bowser hoist her up away from the Hammer Bros and into his own grip, holding her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes as he told the others to scram. Giving the others a final salute, Agent Three swallowed down the lump in their throat. Guess this was it. Now it was time for stage two of the plan. Or more accurately, figuring out what stage two even was going to be.

With Bowser forgoing the use of any cages or rope, Agent Three figured it’d likely be pretty easy to slip out of his hands by transforming into a, as he’d so rudely called them, a ‘slimy squid’. In the panic Three would use their splattershot to splat any nearby minions, paint the ground, and then hide in the ink. Swimming away, all that would be left to do is Super Jump out of there!

Except there was one tiny little problem…

They still can’t Super Jump!

Agent Three loudly face-palmed at their own stupidity. If they could have super jumped out of here then they would’ve done so the moment they’d landed in this Jungle. But nope, apparently they’d forgotten that detail despite the face it was quite literally the most important part of their plan and the reason they were stuck here to begin with.

Where were the Hands when you needed them! Sure Agent Three had heard the stories of Master Hand and Crazy Hand having their ups and downs when it came to dealing with the Smashers but she would’ve figured setting up the connection to the stadium would’ve been as easy as splatting an Octotrooper. How the heck could they mess up that badly? But as much as the Agent would love to bemoan their circumstances, they weren’t just going to give up and let Bowser make her the new Princess Peach (No offense intended). No! There had to be a way out of this. They just needed to be creative.

Even if they couldn’t Super Jump out of the forest, there might still be a way of jumping away from Bowser. If someone managed to set up a Squid Beaken then Three might be able to pick on the signal and jump over to it. Question was, how the heck would any of the others know how to make a Beaken, or better yet, even know that was an option in the first place. Agent Three groaned out of frustration. Looks like things weren’t going to be as clean cut as they had hoped.

What then? Agent Three glanced back at the Koopa carrying her. She wondered, had Bowser encountered anyone else yet? Were all the others back at the stadium or were there tons of other smashers scattered about the realm like herself? After a moment’s hesitation they would decide to try and ask the Koopa himself. Though her English skills were none, maybe he’d understand if she used names. Practically fighting her own vocal chords, Agent Three tried to pronounce some familiar names, though sounding more like a cat drowning in molasses than anything actually intelligible.

“Maw-ree-oh? Luh-geegee? Weech?…Ha-an-duhs?

F-Zero_-_Captain_Falcon_as_seen_in_F-Zero_GX_and_F-Zero_AX (1).pngMeanwhile in the confines of space, The Falcon Flier soared through the colorful void of space. Inside flying the vessel was the titular F-Zero pilot, Captain Falcon, smiling proudly of his most recent accomplishment "Falcon's log 223! Just returned from my latest bounty of the month! Expect a major thank you package from Commander Ricks! Today's target was the notorious Skyfisher pirate gang from the planet Skyfisher (who would've guessed) in the early days of the League of Planets! They put up some resistance. Some pretty good resistance if I'm being honest. It was like I was fighting an army! Not that I haven't done that before. You really wouldn't expect me to have enemies all the time after all. Well, besides The Chameleon, of course. He really makes my life difficult... I need to install Infared in my helmet sometime soon...Never been a fan of hide and seek."

It wasn't often Captain Falcon would talk about but despite Captain Falcon seemed truly impressed by his latest heroic feat but was a bit empty. For the past several months, Falcon had been feeling unfulfilled in his life. But before he could dwell on that thought further, a bright light shined before him and before he knows it, it's disappeared. When Falcon looks again, he sees that he was no longer in space any more but some island-like landscape of the Icon Sector before the Rickenbacker Nebula. Something was wrong, and Captain Falcon knew it. It was way too familiar for his liking. "Oh come on, I better not have gone through a wormhole again! Recalibrating my destination is going to be a hassle...And I can't afford to get myself in trouble with the locals again...! Last time they tried feeding me to some carnivorous plant god. Good thing I had FIRE on my side! Hahaha~!" Captain Falcon lands the Falcon Flier carefully on cliff and surveys the landscape before him.

At the foot of a large cliff was a deep crevice leading to the water below. "Okay, by the looks of this, I'm on a breathable, oxygenated planet. No doubt the trees were a dead giveaway to that and I didn't just hop out of my ship before testing the air first. No one is around to confirm my stupidity on that front, so that's good for me. Let me set myself back on track though. My galactic radar map doesn't identify the planet I'm on or where home is. Doesn't pick up any planet in the system. I might've gone out of pounds of the radar's reach. Or the wormhole messed it up and that's gonna be a load of money I obviously have to fix that! Gah! Well...It's not like I'm in a rush. I could take a nice stroll through these deck of the woods and take in nature for a change. I don't embrace Mother Nature enough and I'm getting sick of running simulated races. So good ol' 'Falcon Stroll' should do me some good!" With that, the pilot to take a walk through the woods.

One thing led to another. Jeff found himself in this strange world. Unfortunately for him, he had the misfortune to have a run in with Pokey who began goading him to fighting him. Jeff would have ignored the latter if Pokey hadn’t gone below the belt calling him nerd and four eyes. It’s juvenile insults but Jeff was put off. He got into it with that jerk. However, the other wasn't expecting Pokey to know psychic powers; he didn’t have a PSI shield to counter it like Paula and Poo.

Jeff relied on his weapons but that seemed like a fruitless battle against Pokey, quickly overwhelmed by his PSI fire and Freeze. He had big plans on helping his dad finish the Phase Distorter III project among others. It’s a big project which took his dad’s attention and energy. Jeff dedicated six months of his life to finishing it; they only managed completing partially of the project.

If Pokey is here then maybe Ness and others are here too it would be nice to see them again after being off the radar for six months. Jeff didn’t know how long he was walking. It seemed like hours at least he collapsed. He wanted to see his friends, Tony, his father again. Jeff can fix his heavy bazooka with no problem. Luckily Pokey only stole his food and not his tools. It’s strange he didn’t take his multi bottle rockets or his bazooka, perhaps it’s a good thing or Pokey is an idiot.

Pichu

With that brief distraction over with, Pichu held on as Sora started back up his sprint, giving the stranger one last side eye of judgement. He could worry about him later, as there were more important matters at hand. Namely, getting his electricity back. Closing his eyes, Pichu felt static one more dance along his cheeks but now far more abundantly.

Suddenly he’d feel the static shock himself, causing the Pichu to wince. Yet still, a smile formed on his face. Pichu could tell, they were finally back in action!

“Pi! Pi! Pichu!” He’d cheer at the small victory, rearing to face whatever may come at the group next. Sure, he still wasn’t in the best shape and could really use a long nap and a warm meal but at the very least the Pokémon wouldn’t be defenseless in the case of combat, and that’s all Pichu needed to hear. Well that and, much to his joy, the fact that Sora had located the exit.

The Pokémon’s ear perked up in the excitement as he too noticed the gentle rays of sunlight peaking throughout the door. To think in less than a few feet he’d finally be free! He couldn’t wait to roll around in the grass, smell the flowers, and climbs all the trees he could ever want! No more ugly grey rooms, no more painful generators, no more research facility! All of that, just one room away.

Pichu was tempted to lunge off of Sora’s shoulder and make his own mad dash towards the exit, only to be stopped by the sudden outage. With the alarms no longer blasting into their ears the room became deathly quiet, only the sounds of his staggered breathing breaking the silence. He could feel it, something was very, very, very wrong. The fur on his body rose as he went into an offensive position, scanning the big space for an sign of danger. Yet, there wasn’t anything around them. Rather, it came from above.

“P-pichu!”

Pichu stumbled as Sora dodged out of the falling Primid’s path, scrambling around the boy’s body in the panic. However it wouldn’t take long for his fight or flight response to kick in as the Pokémon growled, bearing it’s teeth in a show of intimidation before launching himself off of Sora and towards the Primid.

As small as his mouth was, Pichu’s bite was by no means useless as the Pokémon tore into the Primid’s arm as let off a powerful crackle of electricity, shocking both it and himself in the process. Fighting through the pain, he’d continue letting off electricity before finally releasing his bite. Pushing himself off of the Primid to create distance. He would stay on the ground for long as Pichu would quickly deal the finishing blow, a Volt Jolt right into the Primid’s face, sending the enemy flying off.

As soon as the one foe was dealt with Pichu hurriedly returned to Sora’s side, panting. However there wouldn’t be any time to catch his breath as more Primid’s fell down from the ceiling. The battle wasn’t over yet! Before one of the Primid’s could even land Pichu climbed up Sora’s body for extra height and jumped into the air, striking the Primid moments before it could hit the ground.

“Pichu!!”

The Pokémon landed back onto the floor, faltering for just a moment before quickly returning to an offensive position. He wasn’t going to let anything get in the groups way, and if that meant fighting all of the Primid’s at once then so be it!

Taken aback by Bowser's firm handshake, Joker felt himself shaken up, even though he tried to keep himself composed. Despite his moment of temporary shock, he quickly straightened himself out and watched as the minions went to collect Inkling. A pang of guilt overcame the thief, forcing his gaze away. This plan still didn't settle well with him, but it was too late to back out now. Closing his eyes, he kept himself quiet, almost missing the little pow-wow the went on between Kamek and Bowser.

Upon hearing Kamek's voice, Joker's attention was quickly drawn towards it. Brows instantly arching, he was unsure who this newcomer was, but it was clear they were associated to the king, and from how they seemed to speak to him, they were high ranking. Seeing the two discussing whatever it was, he couldn't help wondering what it was about. It took him a moment to realize that they were discussing the previous agreed upon plan. Was Bowser's decision about to change? Ren could only hope that wasn't the case. After a moment, the two seemed to break from their huddle and much to the thief's relief, it seemed Bowser's way had reigned supreme. The mage seemed unhappy with the result, but seemed to follow orders anyways. Thi was a good thing for the group, though it did raise concerns moving forward.

Soon enough Bowser's end of the deal was upheld, and thanks to Kamek the fire was put out only leaving behind the damage that had been caused by it. Surely magic could have fixed that as well, though Joker didn't dare speak up on that matter. It was best not to make any unnecessary quips as things played out. If he did, things might drastically change for the worse. He didn't need that, and he figured the others would appreciate if he kept himself in check as well. Overall, it was better for their group. As their own end of the bargain was held as well, Ren watched as Bowser slung Agent Three over his shoulder and began to lead his troops out. His eyes followed behind them, taking in the direction which they had gone. Even if he had agreed to this plan, he was already mentally preparing a backup plan just in case, one he had no plans of sharing with the others. Besides, he hardly knew what any of them were capable of, thus his plan only involved himself and his persona.

As a few minutes passed, he couldn't help feeling worse about the Inkling's plan. If it had been easy to pull off, he figured she would have done it already by now, yet she hadn't returned. That made the thief fear the worse. Frowning, he turned to face Arsene and quietly gestured to his face. Seeming to understand the small gesture, the persona burst into blue flames until it once again created a mask upon Joker's face. Moving forward it was best to have his companion hidden away. It would allow him to sneak about undetected far better than he could if he were to stay summoned. With that out of the way, he turned to face the trio that still remained.

"I'm going to take chase after them," he stated, making no mention of wanting help. "While I want to trust Inkling, I know things don't always go to plan." He understood that all too well. There had been plenty of times while infiltrating palace's when things didn't go to plan and he had to act on the fly. This felt like one of those times. Even if he was overthinking it all, Ren still needed to see things for himself. If Inkling was taking her sweet time, he would have no reason to reveal himself, but if his gut feeling was right, then would find some way to take action. Turning from the three, he lifted a hand into the air and waved. "Don't feel the need to follow me. I'm only going to sneak about and don't need others giving away my position."

There it was. Joker's brutal honesty. While he had no intention of being rude, he felt it was fair to point out. He was a thief after all, and had learned the way of stealth, whereas the others might lack in that regard. Sure, they could learn much like he and his fellow phantom thieves had, but now wasn't the time to teach such things. He needed to assure his presence wentt entirely undetected as he assessed the situation. It was as simple as that. "I suppose you're free to do whatever though," he mused after a moment before he turned his head and narrowed his eyes in their direction. "I'll warn you, if for whatever reason you follow me, and blow my cover, I may not take too kindly to that." Threats like this weren't much of his style, but the situation made it feel necessary.

Leaving it at that, his hand dropped back to his side and Ren took off in the direction Bowser and his troops had gone. Veering to the left of the clear cut path, the thief moved among the shadows of the jungle's underbrush. While such terrain wasn't what he was used to working in, he was quick to adapt. He had no other choice. Still, his footsteps were light and hardly made a sound despite how quickly he moved. He ducked gracefully from tree to tree until he could see the figures of the Koopa King's troops through the thick underbrush he had hidden among. It was then he slowed himself, taking his steps even more carefully, yet still moving with elegance. Quick blurs of gray and black could be seen ducking among the trees, but beyond that it was hard to tell that something was there. If anything, one might mistake him as an animal rather than a person.

Using his cover to his advantage, he inched his way forward until Bowser was in sight. Much like how it had been when they left, Inkling was dangling over his shoulder, clearing dissatisfied with her current situation. Upon observing it, he couldn't help wondering why she hadn't made her escape. Surely it would have been easy. Maybe things weren't as simple as he was thinking them to be though. Shaking his head, all he could do for now was follow along in the shadows and figure out what the best course of action to take would be.

Seeing the Hylian's reaction to her questions, Pyra gave a small nod of her head. While she didn't expect him to have all the answers she was looking for, she knew he could at least make her feel at ease in their given situation. Sure, she was no stranger to crazy happenings and the like, but given how different the Smash World was from her own, she couldn't help feeling some uncertainty towards everything around her. Even after assisting in the last fight, she hadn't gotten the full experience like the others, given she had showed up relatively late to the fight. That was why she found Toon Link's thoughts important. He had partaken in both the major happenings in this world, unlike her.

Allowing her thoughts to settle for a moment, Pyra's eyes moved back to the sea before her. Maybe worrying about things now wasn't a good thing. If something was completely off, they'd know in due time and then they could deal with it properly. The disappearance of the Hands could be because of many things after all, and given her past experience it wouldn't surprise her if they simply did whatever they pleased. At times they tried to stop the fighters, while other times they were the source of the conflict. There was never any in-between for them.

Shaking her head, the aegis took in a deep breath as she tried to let herself push past the possibilities of what could be going on. Finding a sense of calm, Pyra rolled her shoulders back and finally turned away from the sea. "Thank you," she finally said, though she figured she hardly needed to thank him for reacting to her questions. Still, she was grateful for the small bit of comfort it provided. "You can go back to relaxing if you'd like."

Turning herself to face the way Pit had walked off in, the blade found herself staring off into the distance, wondering if the angel was alright. Had gathering fruit proven to be a harder task than anticipated? It seemed like a silly concern to have, yet given he hadn't returned and she could no longer see him, she couldn't help thinking something wasn't going as planned. If he didn't return soon, maybe she should go searching for him and make sure something bad hadn't occurred. Surely if something had, Pit could handle himself. Besides, it was entirely possible fruit had been hard to come across in this place, despite it seemingly like an easy find.

For once things had been peaceful at Yoshi's Island. No random attacks attacks from unknown enemies, no panicking over the Super Happy Tree, and most importantly, no Bowser. It made the life of the yoshis easy, and even more so of that of one particular green one. Always the first to jump into action when things went wrong, T. Yoshisaur Muchakoopas was the one who always acted first, though hardly anyone called him by that name. As the main representative of his kind, he was more fondly known as Yoshi. Certainly not confusing at all. He surely didn't mind, and the others of his kind never complained either. They respected him as a leader of sorts among them, after all. It was only fitting for the best friend of the Mushroom Kingdom's hero take on the name of their species. Even so, being the most relied on yoshi on the island was hard work. He wanted to laze around much like his brethren, yet duty always called for him.

Adventure's outside the island had become a norm for someone like him, and Yoshi was grateful that his allies in the Mushroom Kingdom relied on him so often. He was always more than willing to help after all, taking great pride in helping the Mario Brothers on whatever adventure they found themselves on. However, even adventures had become less for the likes of this dino. The only things keeping him busy were the worries of his own kind, which mostly were simplistic needs, like gathering fruit or helping fix something. Nothing too over the top. Still, it kept Yoshi busy enough to be unable to enjoy the peace the island was experiencing.

Having found himself harvesting the Super Happy Tree's newly grown fruit, Yoshi hummed to himself, or as close to a hum as he could make. The sound was more reminiscent of a horse's whiney than any kind of hum. Still, the happy-go-lucky dinosaur continued his offbeat song while placing fruits into the basket beside him. Amidst his work, he hadn't noticed a yellow toad had walked into his presence, a scroll in hand.

"Excuse me? You're Yoshi, correct?" the toad spoke, his high pitched voice easily catching the green dinosaur's attention. With his gaze now on the new comer, Yoshi bobbed his head in confirmation, wondering what all of this was about. Was the Mushroom Kingdom in need of his help? That was his initial thought, but given how calm the mushroom before him was, he doubted such was the reason. Maybe the princess was inviting him to some kind of party then. The thought of the princess's cake immediately came to mind, and he nearly found himself drooling. Her sweets had always been the best. No wonder Mario liked them so much. Admittedly, Yoshi was jealous he got them so often. That clearly came with as a perk of being the kingdom's main hero. Maybe he should try and snag the role sometime just to get a cake for himself. Wait, no. What was he thinking? Such a selfish thought wasn't worth the issues that might arise if he were to try and take on Mario's usual heroics. He had always been more of the sidekick type anyways. His thoughts of cake and adventure quickly dissipated as the toad unraveled the scroll in his hands and began speaking once more.

"Good, I've come to the right place then!" he squeaked out. His words only caused Yoshi to tilt his head in confusion, unsure of what he was trying to get at. By now toads hardly ever got lost when coming to visit him and bring him news from the mainland. Maybe this one was simply new at his job. "I come here today on request of her royal highness, to remind you of of the promise all Smash Brother's made to meet again on this day."

The words hardly registered with Yoshi as he stared blankly at the toad, trying to recall the promise himself. If it was important enough for the princess to send a toad to remind him, then he must have made such a promises, even if it had long escaped his mind. Noticing concern growing on the messenger's face, Yoshi gave a few quick blinks of his eyes before he bobbed his head. "Yoshi understand! Yoshi go to World of Smash to meet with friends!"

Smiling at the dinosaur's clear excitement, the toad gave a nod of his own. Rolling the scroll back up, the mushroom turned and gestured off towards the west. "A warp pipe has been prepared for your departure, Yoshi sir! If you would follow me."

Following the toad as requested, Yoshi left behind his work. Surely when he left the toad would inform the others for him. He had no time to think about it anyways. He was far too excited. The thought of seeing his friends from other universes caused his tail to wag ever so slightly, indicating his excitement went well beyond that of what he verbally expressed. Upon arriving at the pipe, the toad stopped and turned to face Yoshi with a beaming smile on his face. "Here we are! This pipe should lead you right to the stadium! Safe travels!"

Nodding a thanks towards the messenger, Yoshi showed no hesitation and rushed for the pipe. Hopping into it, he quickly disappeared and prepared for his departure from Yoshi's Island to Smash Stadium. His real destination though came as a complete surprise.

Tumbling from the pipe as it opened on the other side, the dino face planted into the grass that awaited him. A snort erupted from his nostrils, as he groaned softly in pain. "That hurt!" The pain was a temporary distraction from the scenery around him though and he was only drawn away from it as the scents of the jungle and nearby swamp caught his nostrils. Perking up, Yoshi instantly cocked his head. "Yoshi no smell stadium. Yoshi smell plants," he mumbled. That was exactly what he was surrounded by- trees and various other kinds of jungle plant life.

Huffing softly, Yoshi couldn't help but feel as if he had been scammed by the toad that sent him here. He'd go back and give him a piece of his mind, or at least that had been the plan, until Yoshi turned around and noticed the pipe was no longer there. Gasping, he scrambled over to where he had last seen it and began sniffing around, trying to find any traces of it. It was to no avail though. "Yoshi stuck! This not fair!"

In his brief outburst, a new scent had drifted to catch the dino's attention- one of familiarity. Perking up again, Yoshi lifted his round nose into the air to catch another whiff. There wa no mistaking it, the scent was one he had smelled before, but who it belonged too had long escaped him. It wasn't one of any of the Mushroom Kingdom residents, he knew theirs all too well. This was someone else. He'd have to explore to find out. Wasting no time, Yoshi pushed himself forward in the scent's direction, his excitement once again becoming his guiding light.

Running along, the dino nearly ran directly past Captain Falcon without a second thought. His mind was racing so much, and his attention was all over the place, he had momentarily overlooked the other. However, when the direction of the scent shifted to be behind him, Yoshi skidded to an abrupt halt, and quickly whipped himself around. Almost immediately his eyes landed upon his fellow Smash Brother. "Oh! Yoshi not alone anymore!" he cheered, as he approached the other. He was clearly too excited upon seeing Falcon that Shadow's scent had escaped him.

As Joker follows Bowser's force from the cover of the canopy, the minions continued to trudge back to their base at a considerably slow but steady pace. At this point, they were about half way back to the airships. Both the Koopa King and the majority of his foot soldiers would be corralled in by the wigglers' long bodies carrying Fire Bros who stood guard against any considerable threats. Kamek would also be seen flying around the perimeter of the protective circle, also eying for any enemies nearby. So far, none of them would detect anything suspicious. The only sounds and movements they heard were the jungle ambience, from distant chirping of tropical birds, chattering insects, and the distant howl of animals of unknown kind.

Conversation was considerably minimal up to this portion of the journey. Most of the minions remained silent with only a few quiet conversations between a select few, ranging from speculation regarding the realms or complaining about the hot humid air characteristic of these biomes. Even Bowser was relatively quiet, only being loud within his thoughts regarding their next course of action. Indeed, there were many things he wanted to do now that he was at peace; enough to fill an entire laundry list.

For instance, he wanted to figure out what was going on with the realms. That's obvious. He also wanted to know where Princess Peach was, considering she was behind this entire reunion from the start. Perhaps she had an idea what was happening? Though if Mario and Luigi were with her, it would make it obviously much harder to abduct her. It was a pretty good chance the Super Stupid Bros were with her, but then again... there was a chance that they weren't. Hopefully they were absent from the picture.

And as he pondered the thought of his old rivals, the inkling in his clutches decided to open her mouth and attempt to "speak". If that's what her unintelligible gurgling really was supposed to mean anyways. As soon as the first syllable was uttered, Bowser visibly frowned as he prepared himself for an onslaught of terrible noise to drown his ears. Yet what he did hear... struck VERY loosely with what he had just been thinking about.

"Maw-ree-oh..."

"Luh-geegee... "

"Weech?"

He swore he heard Agent Three attempt to say their names in a way vaguely understandable to him. Though his face contorted sourly at the thought. Bowser growled as he glared into the inkling's eyes with a moderately annoyed glare. "Yeah? What about them?" he muttered as his grip tightened just a bit at the thought, "If you wanna know where they are, yer askin' the wrong guy. Though I sure hope I don't see those meddling plumbers trying to ruin my plans, as the sooooo love to do!" His stressed face would then soften upon thinking of the beautiful Princess, though only slightly, "Ohh, if only Peach just happened to be standing right in front of me. Would make my life WAY easier, I tell ya. I got plans; grand star-leved plans. I need to~"

His voice trails off as another train of thought entered his mind, causing him to stare blankly momentarily with a surprised poker face. "Oh!" he exclaimed in a concerned manner, "That reminds me of sumthin..." He cups his open hand and calls out to Kamek. "Oi! Kamek! Conjure up a call spell! I wanna speak to my boy~"

"Of course, your fatherliness."
Kamek nodded with an affirming cackle as he descended to Bowser's level, leaving the surrounding area to be watched by the minions alone. Using his sceptor, a magic aura would form right in front of the walking Koopa King and begin to flash rapidly. In a few moments, the spell would solidify and conjure up a live vision of the king's favorite son; Bowser Jr! The vision saw the kid in his room back in the Castle, playing with a rectangular device and cackling happily at whatever was happening on screen. He was totally oblivious to the fact he was being watched... that was until Bowser spoke up.

"Hiya, Junior!"

Junior's expression froze for a split-second before finding himself jump a good foot into the air in surprise with a screech. Frantically looking around, he would quickly notice the image of his father within his room. "O-Oh, hey dad!" he stammered with a startled expression as he quickly turned off the device and pushed it to the side, "What's up?"

"Ohh, nothing much. Just wanted to see how my favorite son was doing!"
Bowser replied in a drastically cheerful manner, fit for a proper fatherly figure.

"I'm... doing fine, I guess?" his son said hesitantly with a hint of visible confusion.

"Did ya finish your homework for this week?" Bowser asked hopefully.

Junior seemed to hesitate a bit on the matter. "Uhh, um, y-yeah! Yeah I got most of it done."

His father rose a crimson bushy eyebrow at that response. "MOST of it? Waddya mean by MOST of it, son?"

There was another anxious pause. "I-I mean, it's done! Yup! All done." Junior nervously chattered, trying to cover up his previous statement

Bowser's expression was fairly stern, giving his son a concerned glare. "Are you sure?" he asked Junior slowly, "Tell me the truuuuuth."

Once more, Junior's expression began to crumple under the mounting pressure of his father's inquiry. After a few seconds of trying to compose himself, the young master relented with an ashamed sigh. "I'm... not done yet. I did half of it already, but I still need to do the rest. I'm... sorry dad."

Bowser's expression held still for a moment, projecting a glare that seemed ready to dig into him. Yet instead of scolding his kid, Bowser instead said, "Ahh, see? That wasn't so hard to admit to yer old man, was it? You uh... takin' a break?"

Junior looked up from his miserable expression with a relieving nod. "Yeah..."

"Hey hey, there's nothin' wrong in takin' a break,"
dad replied in an encouraging tone, "I get it, son. Feel free to get back to it whenever you're ready. Just... don't take too long, ya know? I know you can do it!"

Junior shrugged before giving a light smile. "Thanks dad." he nodded, "How's the tournament comin' along?"

"It's uh... not great I'm afraid.."
Bowser admitted with brief hesitance, while scratching his head, "The entire realm has gone completely outta whack. It aint much of a tournament as it's rather a big oooole' free for all. And I thought the real calamity was comin' after the fact, and not right outta the gate."

"That... actually sounds kinda awesome!"
Junior replied with a more excited tone, before his tone shifted back to a concerned one "I-I mean, are you OK? Is Kamek also OK?"

"We're fine, junior."
his father reassured him with a nod, "Been in a bit of a scuffle earlier, but we crushed the competition~ Oh! I also got one of their members that I think you oughta meet." He rose Agent Three up into view and showed her off to his son, still clutched in his hand, "Say hello to this gal! I think ya'll need to get together for a playdate one day, don'tcha think, son?"
