Fandom Super Smash Bros. (OOC)

Main
Here
I already have a project with KH forms, and now I want to draw Smash Bros. bending elements. XD

So on the Avatar talk, since we have a general idea of which element our chosen characters would excel at, which bending style do you think they'd have the most difficulty mastering if they were Avatars?

Toon Link's would probably be Earthbending, which is Airbending's opposite. T'ink's a tricky little guy who often has to approach problems and battles in different ways. Mastering Earthbending requires the bender to be able to be patient, stand their ground, and face the obstacle head-on.

As I said before, Pit would struggle with Airbending. He'd have no problem with the technical aspects of it, but have difficulty mastering the spiritual aspects of it. He'd have a hard time letting go of his own earthly attachments and concerns, struggling to understand that "letting go" doesn't mean to discard something completely and forget about it, but instead to not hold on so tightly and not let such attachments distract him. Said attachments can be as simple as his frustration over being flightless, or something greater such as an over-reliance on Palutena.

Pyra would probably struggle with water or air. I feel like she’d have a harder time changing and than not holding on to things so tightly. Still I’d say it’s a toss up between the two. Mythra on the other hand is a bit different. I feel she’d have an easier time with air but instead struggle with earth. She lacks patience most of all which would be a big problem. Because of everything that happened to her, she doesn’t necessarily endure things well either and often forces Pyra out when things aren’t to her own liking so I feel those would cause her to struggle with something like earth

Joker by default likely struggles with earth since the other three all seem very fitting for him in some manner. His whole thief mentally doesn’t align well with the earth bender way. While he is capable of standing his ground and being patient, he is much more free flowing and nimble so it would likely feel unnatural for him. He doesn’t face things head in unless he has no other options since he rather use stealth than force

Sora probably struggles with earth too. He’s not exactly the most patient person around (at least in terms of combat). He rather dive head first into a fight and not wait. I feel like in the same manner Roxas struggles as well. His temper often gets the best of him which doesn’t feel very fitting of an earth bender. While he thinks things through more than Sora would, I do think they ultimately struggle in the same areas

Yoshi likely struggles with water or fire. Him being a bit more free spirited, I feel fire would be something that feels uncomfortable for him. Yoshi probably doesn’t have the unflinching will/desire that is associated with fire bending. He probably also doesn’t keep up well with its rapid movements since he is rather lax. Water on the other hand is a little less so for him, but adapting and changing probably don’t come extremely natural for him yet it’d be more natural than the fire bending would

Inkling would definitely struggle with air bending since basically entirety of their culture is built around all around consumerism and worldly distractions. Gndifndv like, even one of the main villains entire goal was to eliminate all Inkling society because it was so sick of their vapid obsession with fashion. So getting the squid kid to not worry about being fresh all the time would be quite an issue.

To keep consistent with Pichu’s character he’d probably struggle with fire bending despite it being the bending style he should be most inclined towards. Instead of shocking himself poor bud would probably have a bad habit of accidentally setting himself on fire 🔥

Isabelle would probably also struggle the most with fire bending as she’s really not all that confrontational or have any of that kind of strong will associated with fire bending.

I established all my characters I forgot that I see Pokey as another fire bender because of simply his aggressive and jealousy.

Korra was mid as hell imo. Alot of retconning, very few decent characters, villains aren't really all that subtle, etc.
I saw the first season when it came out and was quickly annoyed by the focus on the stupid love triangle. They only had 13 episodes (at the time only one season was planned) and they chose to focus on that.

AtLA had romance, but it was downplayed and didn’t grind the overall story to a halt.

Yeah when I heard about the whole focus on the love triangle stuff I didn't bother with it. Like I don't mind romance, but that's not what I watched AtLA for

Completely off topic with the AtLA stuff, this clip from Persona 5's anime decided to pop up for me and I just wanna remind everyone this is your local Phantom Thief

👀 good thing I didn’t watch Korra honestly nothing can beat the og Atla

dufixjfks I tried watching it while it was coming out but I was a dumb 8 year old kid so I could never keep up with when episodes came out. I did not get at all that into it though so I don’t have any opinion on the show. Fjdofnd but I absolutely hated the romance stuff in the original series too (but tbh I tend to not be a fan of most romance in shows so I really can’t blame it for that)

I hate romance luckily one of my favorite anime doesn’t focus on it.

Bowser would certainly struggle at waterbending - given the fact he's a fire-breather. Ice he can manage no problem; I think that's already established quite well - but the moment liquid H2O is coming at him, he'll certainly struggle.

Samus would probably struggle at earthbending, considering she typically is the one BREAKING earth and stone to get to them secrets. That or air bending, considering she lacks the ability to fly with her suit.

And for the Doom Slayer, he'd also be weak at earthbending. He too would rather be on the offensive, ripping and tearing with brutal fury. He's surprisingly capable in the air (see Doom Eternal's parkour sections in Main and AGs PT 1 and PT2), he's quite verstile and very adaptive to his situation for waterbending, and by default he deals with fire.

I cannot say I dislike romance I love me some soft ships and I am a weak soul but I feel like it needs to either serve a purpose (like motivation for a character to move a plot forward, like Shulk's whole drive for revenge on Fiora's behalf and later his drive to save her when he finds out she's actually alive) or a side thing that isn't super important to the stories plot (kinda like Fire Emblem supports or Persona confidants are). Romance for the sake of romance is a bit meh though

Y’all are my people lol

I actually do not mind romance. I occasionally indulge in romance novels, but with those I know what I’m getting. Romance that adds nothing to the overall story, or worse, drags it down, annoys me. Especially when the couple have absolutely no chemistry or reason to be a couple. I think the worst is when an awesome story of friendship is ruined by the characters becoming a couple. I adore strong friendships.

I don’t do romance in RP because it always ended badly for me. I will absolutely not do Canon x OC for Fandom RPs.

Samus becomes a master Airbender because Airbending involves making ROUND shapes with air!

Meanwhile, here's another example of why Japanese Pit is better than English Pit.

English Pit: Cells of Hades, hear my words! And see my actions... I forgot the rest!

Japanese Pit: Demons nesting inside Hades, hear my words-- Know what, screw it! Fuck you, Hades!

I feel this though I'm a bit more okay with friendships becoming couples if it makes sense. Like I'm all for strong friendships and keeping them as is, but if it goes romantic and makes sense then I'm usually fine with it. But generally I like there being reasons for romance to be there

And completely understandable. Romance can be very hit or miss in rps. I'm usually open to it only if my partner is comfortable with it as well and even then I like a slow burn kind of romance which some people can't deal with. And canon x oc is well something. I struggle a lot with them. My favorite thing to do is make dumb crackships with friends cuz that is the most comfortable and fun thing to do in rp romance with canons. Like it was funny to see PersonaWatch joked about cuz a friend and I did a crackship with Joker and D.Va which we dubbed Pistol Pals and it actually sparked me to design Joker as an OW hero

I don't mind romances at all, but I prefer slow-burn romances. That way, it gives both parties time to develop as individuals, rather than being defined by the relationship itself. The downside to most romances in roleplays is that development is rushed, or the characters are too incompatible (or too cringe)

I can dabble in a little romance, but more so of a natural "makes sense" kind of way. A bit of play flirting doesn't hurt but nothing being forced into on something unless both players are fine with it.

It can also be hella cringe if not properly played
