I was thinking back on the prompt about Lunaris’s resurrection and some joking around in Discord, and I had an idea of Sora believing firmly that he can be reformed, so the doubtful Smash Brothers make it Sora’s responsibility to watch him.

Initially, Lunaris, now Stefan, is a big pain in the butt to Sora, and openly defies his attempts at befriending him and reforming. As time passes, he begins to put some real effort in, struggles a lot with reformation, and comes to the somber realization that he’s always acted in self-interest and that, not once ever, has his existence ever made things better. Maybe he is better off returning to his grave. The realms can heal and Lunaris may eventually be forgotten.

Maybe Sora is very motivated by his interactions with the Beast and Stitch, and he is very determined to help Stefan find his place in the world. Sora is able to call the Beast and Simba out on their crap, so I won’t put it past him to be the same towards Stefan.

I can see it being somewhat similar to Discord's reformation from MLP. Lunaris is defiant and goes out of his way to make things as difficult for Sora as possible, then he eventually comes to the realization that this goofy kid is the only friend he has. His allies are defeated and gone, he has no family, depending on RP events Shiri may or may not be around anymore, and the other Smash Bros. are looking for any reason to take him down again.

Lunaris makes a real effort to change afterwards, but his scars are too deep and he'll never be able to truly escape the darkness within his heart. He outright refuses the idea of having Joker change his heart; if he is going to change, it will be through his own will-power. Maybe he goes off on his own journey to find himself. His first selfless act is to order Sora to never tell Shiri he is alive. She should be free to live her own life and make real friends, and not be tied down by him.

Lol the collective anger and disbelief when Sora cheerfully tells the other Smash Brothers that he let Lunaris go! XD

I'd hate to be like this Swallow, but is there anything that are you're perhaps looking to do with Pauline and anyone else who may be interacting with her? I don't want to absolutely sound too annoying, but it has been a little while and if she hasn't been able to do much, then it's probably for the best that we plan something out for her sake.

It would be best if we did discuss it together as I'm drawing a complete blank on what to do with Pauline. I had a lot of plans for the RP overall, but with a lot of players either ghosting or going on hiatus, a lot of those plans have fallen apart, and it's been a struggle for me to figure things out without resorting to plot ass-pulls or just going, "Oh well, pretend a lot of this stuff didn't happen!"

I’m considering making a post dissolving the Lake Group so I can push things along, and I want to discuss dissolving small, inactive groups or at least merging them with other parties.

Pauline needs other PCs to interact with, so that would be the place to start.

A thought I’ve been having is possibly starting a new RP thread after the holidays, and after some plot threads are resolved (The Lake Group dissolved, the Pillar of Sorrow obtained). We will not be starting over, more of a Book Ends deal. With a new thread, maybe new players will be more encouraged to join, and we’d have a fresh start.

Of course, folks already involved in this RP will not need to redo character sheets.

Nothing is set in stone, and I definitely appreciate thoughts and opinions.

Apologies that I’ve been kinda quiet of late, especially since my characters were mentioned and I never said anything in regards to the silly thoughts. My brain very empty, no thoughts so I kinda avoided it

In regards to possibly a new thread, I have one idea to go with it. If that is the route, maybe having a new interest check would help as well? It might help bring in new people

Free to share if you wish! I didn’t want to make too many Lunaris prompts. Honestly, I’m concerned about folks getting character fatigue. I have been sharing a lot of FF14 Stefan shenanigans.

It'd be interesting if Zelda was the one most doubtful of Stefan's ability to reform, and is very vocally against giving him a chance. This may be a shock to the other fighters as this would seem very out of character for her. However, she has had to deal with villains that will not stay dead, and she may have unconsciously made Lunaris a symbol of her own doubts and failures.

I'll have to think on it, but I will definitely make a new interest check if that is what I decide to do. If I don't have the inactive groups merged, then at least a fresh start will rid us the burdens of inactive characters and dragging scenes, and PCs can be in new areas via time skip. When I get around to the Lake Group, I will either make one large post, or just divide it into parts, as I think wrapping up everything there will take a lot.

I want to post for Layton and Luke. I may play GM and control the Krookodile so the scene can be moved along.

Cia was somebody she was interacting with as we both know, and that can be worked upon if need be, or another character can approach and interact with Pauline in some way before she gets the chance to return back to her office. Any potential villians who she would essentially be working alongside, even if they're not directly working together could be a potential consideration.

The second idea would be her returning, but dealing with Console City's likely influx of problems that had happened even in her short leave. A lot can be as the result of this, whether it's the appearance of one of the Smash Brothers, the duty of the recently appeared Alloys, maybe even some protest against her actions. I don't have the biggest idea on potential characters, but leaving Pauline cooped up and forced to witness all of this instead of taking action doesn't feel like the right option.

Pauline could have witnessed the massive stained glass window over the castle entrance being shattered by a magical bolt. Like the stained glass window, the main hall was magically restored to how it was almost immediately. Shiri could possibly explain the legend of the Night Dragon to Pauline. I don't know if she's a studious type, but maybe she picks up on a connection between this legend at Lunaris, and tries to discover more?

Isabelle also still has the disk drive with some information from the Military Base. I belive that was one of the primary reasons why they're heading to Console City to see its conents.

oh gosh I haven’t been getting notifs-

But to let y’all know starting next week (since that’s when winter break starts for me lol) I think I’m probably going to begin the transition out of break and start going about how to write the next posts for my characters. It might take me a bit to see what’s happened so far and I definitely wanna see what the plans will be in regards to the roleplay’s future as a whole, but I think my break has helped me get at least a little bit of that spark back

And as always, no rush. The holidays is a great time for folks to take a break. I don't plan to do much RP-wise until after (I have a bunch of Christmas parties to attend to, plus I'm going out of state for Christmas @_@), and for now I'm mostly tossing ideas.
