A thought I suddenly had:

I've said before that I can see Dark Pit having a soft spot for SSBU Zelda. What if this is because SSBB/SSB4/TP Zelda was kind to him? I'm of the impression that Dark Pit likely wasn't welcomed with open arms when he joined the roster (Ex. Simon Belmont has a special victory line ("To darkness!"/"Turn to Darkness" in Japanese) when he wins against a dark-aligned character such as Dark Pit). Twilight Princess Zelda did sacrifice herself to save Midna, so perhaps she saw immediately that he is no wicked spirit and treated him kindly?

I'm sorry. I absolutely love the idea of SSBU Zelda and Dark Pit being close friends. There's just so much potential there for adorableness, humor, and heartbreak with them. Add Roxas to the mix and that potential really goes up!

Weddldlf aww that’s so cute! And it got me thinking about Ulimate Zelda’s thoughts on the other Zeldas from the prior tournaments. I could imagine her going around asking all the other fighters what tp Zelda and oot Zelda were like, as well as having plenty of conversations with Sheik about the topic. I like to think SSBU Sheik is either OoT or TP Zelda. TP Zelda having a Sheik form is the reason I pointed out in the Rules section that lore doesn't have to be strictly followed as this breaks lore on its own. In past SSB RPs, people have strained themselves trying to make TP Zelda having a Sheik form lore-friendly. Meanwhile, I'm thinking it's not THAT much of a big deal. It doesn't change the story of TP so much that it's an issue. Maybe she always had a Sheik form but couldn't utilize it in TP due to circumstances? Not worth getting a headache over IMO.

All the SSB Zeldas interacting would have been neat. I pictured both Melee/OoT and Brawl/TP Zeldas being reserved and a bit melancholy (they've been though some shit), and then there's Ultimate Zelda who is more energetic and playful.

I pictured SSBU Zelda asking Dark Pit to promise that they'll always be friends no matter what form she takes, and it's one of the few times he does. He seems like the type to hate being forced into making promises, so that's a big deal.

And then Tetra joins the roster next tournament! XD

It does get me thinking though: Dark Pit has Pit's memories, so he knows about the events of Subspace Emissary. He was there! It must be very lonely to have the people you saw as friends suddenly shun you as an evil spirit and a forgery.

I’ll hopefully work on a Roxas post soon, maybe even today if my focus wants to work with me. I definitely am pretty motivated to write him out! It helps that his whole scene and fight in KH3 sparked even more motivation in me too

The motivation in question I also did the same as this person in this fight cuz I heard Roxas just obliterates the boss himself LMAO

I’m with you here. they’re riding on the final fantasy 7 train like milking it. I want the other games to shine I’m salty over FF6 getting a shitty pixel remaster. I love FF9 it was my favorite next to 6

iirc Squall's name was changed because he was ashamed he couldn't protect his home from the Heartless so he takes on an alias. I could be misremembering but I believe that is the reason
