It's kind of funny that SheepKing's post mentions a Chao, because a couple days back while I was bored at work, I was thinking about the Super Smash Bros. hanging around in a Chao garden. It was entertaining to think of how each Smasher would raise their Chao. I really wish Sega would bring Chao Gardens back. I don't know why they're so resistant to it!

I had a sad thought of one of the other Smashers seeing Dark Pit with an angel Chao. The Smasher assumes he's babysitting Pit's Chao, in which Dark Pit states it's actually his. The Smasher then gets upset, accusing Dark Pit of abusing the Chao to get it to become an angel Chao instead of a devil Chao. Of course, this really pisses off Pittoo!

I don't know much about Chao/Chao Garden's. That was a Sonic Adventure 1/2 thing, right? What's the deal there?
 
Yeah, Chao Gardens were a thing in SA 1 and 2. They were pretty much virtual pets. You get to raise them, feed them, give them animals, and raise their stats so you can race them or have them fight. Their appearances are affected by what stats you focus on, which character interacts with the Chao, how you treat the Chao, and what animals you give to them.

There's something hilariously wrong about letting newborn Chao fight!
 
Haha, yeah, catching wild animals from their natural habitats and keeping them captive so you can train to solely to fight and make you famous is so bad and morally wrong, haha, can't believe anyone would do that

Anyway, I wonder where are the Pokemon trainers are right now

Now that I've brought it up, part of me wants to try my hand at playing a Pokemon trainer. Yet another Nintendo franchise I know very little about! I'll put the idea on a sehlf for right now. Right up there with the Monster Hunter character playing World made me want to claim.

i was legit thinking of adding Monsters from Mosnter Hunter myself! Mainly scrapped/unused monsters
 
You raise the Chao from eggs. When you give an animal to a Chao, it takes on the attributes of that animal. For example, giving a Chao a bird will increase its Fly stat, and give it bird features such as wings or feathers. What makes newborn Chao fighting so funny/terrible is that they're crawling and babbling like human babies, and when they lose they cry.

oh lord, it CAN get worse
 
It actually CAN get worse! If a Hero character such as Sonic raises a Chao, it may grow into a Hero Chao, and if certain requirements are met it will turn into an Angel Chao. If a Dark character such as Shadow raises a Chao, it may grow into a Dark Chao, and if certain requirements are met it will turn into a Devil Chao.

However, if you're playing a Hero character but want a Dark Chao, or a Hero Chao from a Dark character, you have to abuse that Chao! Abusing a Chao as a Hero character will turn it into a Dark Chao, for example.

It gets EVEN WORSE!

When a Chao is abused, it shows signs of it such as crying, being confused, or shivering. If you beat them up long enough with a character, they will scream and run from that character!



If you take really good care of your Chao, when it dies of old age it will become an egg and reincarnate. If you're terrible to your Chao, it doesn't reincarnate. You can abuse your Chao so badly that it prefers a permanent death to a second chance at life!
 
Lunaris is pretty bad ass with the art I’m getting sons of the harpy feel to it from game of thrones.
 
I really need to make art of my baddies and future NPCs. It's finding time to do it, and without a cockatiel wanting to chew on the cords.
