Fantasy "Super" Powers

Echo stood in front of her dad, she was not sure how to tell him that she could control fire. "Uh, dad?" She said to him, "Yes sweety?" Echo took a deep breath, terrified. What if he yelled at her? Or worse, kicked her out. Echo took another deep breath and spoke fast, "IthinkIcancontrolfirepleasedon'tbemadIloveyou."

Her dad stared at her for a second, "Well, that's nonsense! There's no such thing as powers!"

Echo swallowed hard and held out her hand, soon enough a flame came out, it didn't hurt her at all but she flinched. Her dad gasped, "I'm sorry Echo," He started, "But you're going to have to leave. I will not tolerate this!" He screamed on, pointing to the flame in Echo's hand.

Soon, Echo was terrified, the 19-year old girl ran out of the house crying, she had no money to buy a house and she knew her dad would never let her back in. She would have to live on the streets. And it was all because of this stupid power.

Emma was walking down the street, she didn't want to though. Her parents forced to go outside and try to make some friends.

I don't need friends
she thought to herself. She would constantly try to tell her parents about her wild power but as soon as she brought it up, they'd throw her out and make her try to make friends. Great...she was stuck with the one family in the neighborhood that didn't listen to her no matter what she said.

All she ever got from her entire family was. "Those cloths are so dark don't you think?!", "All the other kids would love you, go make some friends!", "Powers again, Emma?! You need to get that nonsense out of your head."

Ashlyn was curled up into a ball, staring into space. She was alone, settled upon a old, creaky bed with a worn, filthy mattress, down in the basement. Her father had found out about her shifting only a week before, and had shoved her down there. Since then, he had given her little water, and no food and, in his words, 'treating her like the animal she was'. She was in no way happy about this, and it took all her concentration to not allow her wolf to take over, to escape and likely kill her family upstairs. Instead she waited, waited for the correct moment to run.

Her time came when her father eventually walked in when she was curled behind the door. He was walking over to the bed, which had the blankets arranged to look like she was sleeping, and he had left the door open. Bolting for it, she darted through the house and outside, not stopping her running until she was far away, panting harshly. She smiled slightly to herself, proud that she had got herself out of that, but saddened that her family hadn't wanted her after they had found out about her wolf form.

Elizabeth walked down the street with a baseball bat in her hands and swearing as loud as possible. When she realized she could control water she had tried to deny it and continue living her normal life but denying it became so hard that she had finally accepted that she had powers and she hated it. I could've gotten super speed or teletransportation or unlimited money but I had to get water. Why do I have to get water powers? She thought to herself as she walked towards an alley close to a bar. She needed a way to get rid of her anger before going to work since her boss would probably get mad at her if she flooded the place.

Gathering glass bottles and placing them in a line was easy and she was finished preparing everything in five minutes. She was lucky the drunk costumers left the empty bottles of alcohol outside when they left the bar, she didn't want to waste more time so she raised the baseball bat and began breaking some of the bottles. Dealing with her problems would've been easier if she had someone to tell but her parents were dead, she lived alone and the only humans she talked to were some of her co - workers who probably hated her and her neighbor who always forgot her name. She was pleaced with the amount of noice she was making when she broke the bottles and the possitive effect destroying objects had on her.

Emma sighed. She took one of the hidden smokes in her pocket along with a hidden lighter and lit it up. She didn't care what anyone had to say about it. If they wanted to say some smart ass remark, they have another thing coming. She continued to walk down the street. she saw all kinds of stray animals, little kids playing, and even some kids around her age.

She never bothered to say anything. She'd just think to herself, There was no point in talking to anyone, no one would like her anyway!

Eve drew her duvet around herself more tightly, wincing at how loud her music was. She had no visual way to prove to her grandmother that she wasn't crazy, and when she had offered to prove her ability, her grandmother had brushed it off as a coincidence. Still, in her grandmother's defence, complaining about the 'voices in my head' did sound a little off.

Sighing, Eve watched the flickering of one of the many scented candles that illuminated the otherwise dark room (the curtains were shut out of personal preference) and let her mind wander as the music drowned out any thoughts yhat might otherwise be audible.

In a cheap class studio apartment, there was a formless blob of wet clay speed a cross a single bed. When the phone resting on the bed side table began to ring, the clay began to pulse and move, fusing together to a large limb of clay. The clay began to reform forming a featureless human shape, reaching out to grab the phone and turned it off. The clay shape then turned over to its back and rubbed it's forhead before sitting on the side of the bed while holding the side of its head as if it was heave. It looked on a picture on the side of the bed and features began to form on the clay, a nose, skin, eyes even hair began to form making the clay look like a proper man. Alex was awoke now and was having a terrible hangover from the night before. He groaned as he got up and went to the kitchen for aspirin. This was the second night in a row he was hangover but he didnt care, it stoped him from thinking about who he was. At the kitchen, he noted he needed a few things from the store and got dressed and left. Changing his appearance for a moment as he passed his landlords flat as he passed, having nto paid rent in a couple of days. He knew that soon he would have to find another place to live.

The distant blare of a car horn woke a young man from a paranoid sleep. Groggily, he looked around his surroundings through the thick film of the night's darkness. It hadn't been long before the last time he awoke, about thirty or so minutes ago, he supposed. In his dream, Greg watched himself dying, as if spectating a film. It was magical to him, as it allowed Greg to experience vicariously that which he was far too afraid to do for himself. If he was dead, well, then he'd at least be able to get some sleep. But suicide proved much harder an action than the movies and newspaper articles made it out to be.

Slowly, Greg pushed his hand against the bricks of the small bridge's underneath and it felt warm, reminding him of his life. Glancing behind him, he could see the frost lay waste to the small area around where he'd leaned against for a chance at rest. Such a sight told him that there'd be no more sleep tonight. He didn't want his carelessness to cause the entire bridge to freeze over. Picking himself up, he took a moment to ensure that he wasn't becoming too frigid before waltzing out from underneath the park's decorative stone and brick bridge that he'd called home for a few hours this night. As Greg's eyes began to adjust to the tenebrosity of the night, he could see the frozen air emanating from his breath. Perhaps he'd walk the streets a bit tonight, maybe even be lucky enough to satisfy the gnawing emptiness in his gut.

Wandering aimlessly, cold and defiantly alone, Ash for once wished she could shift into her wolf form, only for the reason that it was warmer. She refrained from doing so however, and continued to wander the streets, looking for somewhere warm to huddle. She was only wearing her jeans and a thin shirt, barefooted. It hurt slightly to walk on the ground, and she looked where she trod carefully, not wanting to harm her feet by stepping on something sharp. Continuing on, and avoiding anyone, and everyone she met along the way, she shivered, gradually becoming colder

After breaking every single bottle in the alley, Elizabeth threw the baseball bat away since she wouldn't need it anymore and entered the bar where she worked and walked behind the counter and waited for costumers to arrive. She was a few minutes late but her boss didn't care, the bar was completely empty anyways and she hoped it would stay that way but the bar was one of the few places that were open in the area and it was cold outside so she wouldn't be surprised if everyone started to show up. She took one of the glasses and began cleaning it to pass the time.

(If anyone wants to talk to her come to the bar)

Emma took out her fake ID and headed to the bar after putting her cigarette out. She walked into the bar looking depreseed and angry. She sat down and cracked her knuckles, staying quiet when it came to talking.

After what seemed like an eternity of boredom waiting for a costumer or a tsunami that Elizabeth was very tempted to create to deal with the boredom a girl finally arrived and sat down with an angry look. The girl could have a rocket launcher with her and Elizabeth wouldn't care as long as she could talk to another human being for more than three seconds. She approached her and placed a hand on the table. "Do you want a drink?" She asked raising an eyebrow. The girl didn't look 21 but she couldn't care less, she was under 21 and was working there so if the girl wanted alcohol she wouldn't give her any trouble.

"Just a beer please..." She asked softly.

There...I talked to a human being! Happy now, mom?! She thought. She was sick of life, at this point.

Zane yawned loudly and stretched his arms wide as he looked up at the bright sky. The park was filled with trees, squirrels, and the assortment of people running around but they didn't bother Zane's daily hour and half he spent in the park. Standing up from the park bench he walked toward a bar and walked through the door, nothing like the smell of shitty beer he thought to himself. With a low yawn he walked to the bartender and handed her the fake ID he always used for everything. "Give me something light I don't care what it is," he said with a sly smile. Handing the bartender a five he slipped away from the bar and to the closest table. Looking over the room he saw a table half way open and walked over with a wide enveloping smile. Pulling out a chair from another table he looked at both girls and he asked,"Mind if I sit here, its fine if you don't want me to."

"No, it's fine, go ahead." She said not even bothering to look at him.

Why would he want to sit here out of a the tables in here?! She asked herself. Emma decided to cancel out the thought and continue on with her daily life.

Elizabeth nodded at the girl and shrugged when the boy asked them if he could sit there. "I work here, one beer coming up". She said with the smile she was supposed to give costumers and walked towards the bartender. " Give me a beer" she said looking at her nails and waited for the bartender to finish pouring the beer into the mug and walked towards the table with the costumers and gave the girl the beer. "I've never seen you in this shithole before and you don't look like the idiots who come here so why are you here? And don't say because this place is pretty because I might throw you out for that"

Zane smiled to the girl sitting down,"Thanks." After the girl serving beers came back and made her statement he yawned and smiled toward her with out a word leaving his mouth, he looked down at his beer and took a few sips.

Emma shrugged. "It's somewhere to go..." She said awkwardly before sipping her beer. She just wanted to stay quiet and out of conversation.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes knowing she would have a better chance talking to a goat than starting a conversation with those two. So she sat down on one of the booths and smiled at the bartender. "Be nice and pass me the flask." The bartender quickly looked around to see if their boss could see them and gave her a flask with some whiskey inside. Elizabeth took a sip and gave it back to him and tried to forget about everything that was happening to her with the power trouble.

Emma sighed and smiled. She drank her beer little at a time. Her head filled with thoughts of all kind.

She started to see the bar going out of business in two years from this exact day. It was a shame.

She clenched her fist trying to resist the vision from going through her head.

With a slow and lazy smile Zane looked across to the girl at the table and asked,"Is everything alright you seem, stressed." Zane took another drink of his beer and started playing with his bracelet like a child.

Emma paused before waking back up to the present. "Yeah, I am stressed." She said.

Emma didn't make eye contact with Zane. She took a gulp of her beer.

[~] RP PAUSED FOR THE NIGHT [~]

[~] Unpaused, sorry for the delay [~]

Echo pulled herself together and walked to the bar, she luckily had her ID and money on her. She knew she was too young to drink, good thing though, fire doesn't go well with alcohol.

She noticed people chatting ay the bar, she tried her best to stay away from then and sat at a booth alone, trying to figure out where she could go.

Elizabeth was about to ask the bartender to give her the flask again but he left the bar with a worried expression, leaving Elizabeth to take care of the costumers alone. Lucky for her, there were only three costumers and the regulars were probably recovering from a massive hangover so the possibility of them coming to the bar was not so big. Elizabeth stood behind the counter and looked at the girl who had just arrived. "Do you want a drink?" She asked not caring that the girl looked under 21.
