[Sulfurix and Gilmore] Ranch loss

Harrison smile at her as he hopped onto Zoey's back, shifting the reins in his hands carefully. As they rode back, he let himself get lost in thought a few times, pondering the recent events that had snuck up on them almost. A breath filtered through his nose as he rode the mare back to the stables. Once there, he took the saddle off of the lightly colored mare, and led her into her stall before he removed the reins and placed them where they belonged. He patted her snout, then went and retrieved the brushes to groom her out before he'd leave the stall.

Harrison looked over to where Vixi had taken the fawn, walking over and putting a foot onto the railing, leaning his arms on it, watching the fawn wobble its way towards the bottle. "Like any boy, he'd do anything for some food, huh?" He joked, watching the fawn before hisnbrows creased to the echoing shot. He turned his head in the direction it had come from, pondering what fool would be shooting on someone else's land.

Vixi had smiled at his comment and agreed. It was a typical male thing to do. She locked the stall and sighed. She went to the edge of the forest and looked through it. Vixi started walking through the forest. She moved vines and branches, she kept walking. She finally stopped and looked around. She sighed and ducked as a bullet passed her."woah shit."She muttered as she hit the ground. Vixi groaned and rolled over, she was in pain still. She got up."Hey dont shoot I am human not game."She shouted. A man walked over. "Oh sorry Hi I am Jace I just moved in. "He said and held out his hand. Vixi took it."well welcome, I do ask you to refrain from hunting here this is my land and you almost hit me."She said and pulled her hand back. He nods. "Sorry Miss, didn't know."She nodded and leaned on the tree. Trying to catch her breath."see you around she said and limped back.

Irish Ice Queen

He frowned as she headed towards the forest, "want me to come?" He called after, but got no response from her. He sighed, assuming she'd be alright, and going to tend to all the horses like he was taught so they wouldn't get behind. By the time he finished, she was heading back, her limp making him frown. "What happened?" He asked, worry in his tone as he went to meet her halfway.

Vixi nods and leaned into him. "I can't breathe I think I broke a rib. Or something."She wheeze and sat down. She had hit the ground pretty hard. She sat up straight and sighed. "I got shot at by some new guy had to drop to the ground and hit pretty hard."She said and held her side."that was stupid. I will be fine.just let me catch my breath. "She said and layed back on the ground with a groan.

Irish Ice Queen

He bent down to where she laid, a worried frown on his face. "Someone /shot/ at you?" He asked quickly, sending a small glare up to the direction she came from. Dammit, Harrison, you should have gone with her, you idiot! A gun shot was a sure sign something was wrong. Why one earth wouldn't you go check it out too? He mentally scolded himself. He looked her over quickly to make sure she wasn't visibly injured before sighing, "do you want me to get you some water?" Harry pondered, tilting his head, hat shifting slightly on his head.

She waved off the water comment. She breathed and wheezed.she sat up slowly and groaned. "For shit sake. I feel like a horse kicked me."She said she coughed and closed her eye's. She looked up at him."please help a girl up."She said. When he helped her up,she let out a squeak n she held on to him."okay I am good, lets get back to work. "She said. She was trying to be a tough girl. She didn't want him to worry.

Irish Ice Queen

He gently helped her up, and gave her a sturdy form to hold onto once she was up. No matter how tough she was trying to be, he didn't want her to hurt herself. She may not wish for him to worry, but that's exactly what he was doing. He kept an arm firmly around her so she couldn't slip away to try and force herself to do work. "No, Vixi, you need to take it easy for a while," he stated firmly, the concern shining in his eyes.

Not going to take no for an answer, he already started to lead her back to the house, careful of not going too fast in order to let her sore body move along. "Tell me what else needs to be done, and, I promise, it'll be done just like you showed me the other day." He looked her over for a moment, clearly not going to let this rest, and going to make her rest.

Vixi groaned at his protective nature. She leaned into him and sighed. "I am.... I'm fine really. "She said she faltered at a twinge in her breathing. She tryed to slip from his grip to work, but his grip was gentle, but firm. Vixi tryed to breathe normally.

She just let him walk her to the house." I have to make dinner and feed, bathe, water, and get the horses back in. Get rhe cows back from the field ans turn Diablo out for the night. Then a few side jobs."vixi said. She leaned on him feeling weak. She felt her legs about to give out."stop I can't keep walking."She said. She felt a bit shaky

Irish Ice Queen

She said she was fine, but the way she was leaning into him for support for walking was saying different. He made sure to slow his pace a bit for good measure before nodding to all she said. "I'll handle everything," he assured her before stopping dead in his tracks to her words. "Here...get on my back."

Harry let go, but kept a hand on her arm to steady her before crouching down in front of her so she could climb onto his back for a 'piggy back ride' to the house.

Vixi gave him a yeah right look. She finally wrapped around him dor a piggy back ride. She let out an annoyed sigh. She leaned her head on his shoulder."careful with Diablo. If you need help, please tell me."Vixi says.

"Please let me help you. "She said. Vixi felt drained, her eye's closed and she kissed his neck to thank him.

Irish Ice Queen

He hooked his arms around her legs to keep her up as he started back towards the house again. He looked to her head on his shoulder from the corner of his eyes, nodding. "I'll be careful." He confirmed the words, finally coming up to the house more.

"No," he denied her of wanting to help him, "you need to rest. You've been through a lot, Vixi," he said gently before feeling her lips against his neck, unsure of what to do, he just offered her a small smile--not noticing how easily he had started to smile at the woman.

Vixi clung to him.She sighed."Fine, if you are okay. With it."She says. She hated resting even hurt.Vixi didn't rest much, she sighed and just relaxed into his grip. She watched as the house got closer. Vixi wanted to help him. Her body said no and was screaming at her every movement. Though Vixi's mind, was saying work the pain will go away.

"I have to make dinner for you and my father."She says. She hated being sore and in pain. She normally worked through it better then this. She bit her bottom and and hid into him.

Irish Ice Queen

"I am," he assured her, sliding his arms under her legs more so she was secure against his back. Harrison walked up the steps, pausing to look at her, "if you don't want to cook, I can go grab something from town," he offered, going to the door. He shifted forward to where his fingers brushed the handle, pushing it open.

He went in and to the living room, walking over to the couch. Harry bent down, one knee hitting the floor gently before he let go of her legs to let her slide onto the couch. "Do you want anything before I go?" He asked, tilting his head.

Vixi shook her head and relaxed into the couch. "No I am good thank you."She says

Vixi sighed and grabbed a book from the table. "I will have dinner ready when you get done."She said. "Just need to find a way to get odd the couch."She said. She smiled up at him"Thank you. You are so awesome."She says. She moved the pillows behind her head."are you sure I can't help you?"She asks him.

Irish Ice Queen

"Please don't push yourself too much," he said, seeing as she still wished to make dinner and do things. He returned the small smile, but worry could be seen in his eyes as he looked her over for a quick second. "No, you stay here to rest. I can handle it all," he gave her a reassuring grin before he turned to leave the house. He'd take care of the horses first... Then the cows, then the bull--Diablo.

Harrison jogged back to the barn, taking one horse at a time from the outside pen in order to brush and bathe them before putting the amount of food Vixi told him to the day earlier. He didn't rush, so he wouldn't screw up. Harry hauled hay where it needed to be, grabbilg pales of water to give to the horse's, cleaning hooves and brushing their coats, and then safely putting them into their stalls for the night.

Vixi lay on the couch. She read for a bit and when bored. She pushed herself up and let out a squeak of pain. She groaned and stood. She limped slowly to the kitchen. She started to make leftovers from the night before.

Vixi made her way upstairs slowly and went to feed her father. Once he was asleep she limped down to the kitchen. She was washing dishes and stopped when she felt a sharp pain. She held the sink and made a face. She sighed aa the pain passed and finished rhw dishes. She finally limped her way back to the couch. She layed on it and closed her eye's groaning. She got comfy and waited for Harrison to return.

Finishing with the horses, he started to head to the fields where the cows were with Zoey. Once there, he tied the mare up to a post, going and pushing the gate open that would lead the cows back into their night time area. Harry went back to Zoey, taking her reins in his hands and leading her into the area and shutting that gate before hopping on and going to find where the cows were.

He found in quite easy to lead them all towards the area, and figured this was a routine thing for them. Harrison dozed off for a moment, getting lost in thought as the cattle herded themselves into the designated area, a sigh soon leaving him. Zoey shook her head to get his attention, Harrison shaking his own before patting her neck arm concentrating the rest of the way back.

After locking the gate up and getting Zoey outside of the large field, Harrison headed to where Diablo was. "Alright, big guy..." He breathed out as he went to the gate that'd let the large beast into this area. "Let's just...get along," he unlocked the gate, the bull looking up from what he was eating to glare at Harrison. He gave the bull a smile, but it faltered into a frown when the beast stamped his hoof. "Just do it, Harry," he thought.

Pulling the gate open, the bull charged for it, Harrison turning and booking it from the gate. Diablo ran into the now open area, snorting before turning and charging after Harrison. Having a head start, and being a fast runner, he managed to throw himself over the bordering fence before the bull managed to get him. Diablo skidded to a halt at the gate, snorting before walking away. Staring at the bull walk away, he couldn't help but flop down into the grass and start to laugh. "That went smoothly," he joked to himself, laughing still as he picked himself off and dusted off the grass chunks.

Harry took Zoey back to the stables, washing her off and taking care of her before checking on the fawn. He smiled, seeing it asleep, and started to walk back to the house, ruffling some grass from his hair, holding his hat in one hand.

Vixi had fallen asleep on the couch while she waited on him.

In her dream Vixi was walking the forest. She was happy and life was good. Out of no where a hand came and grabbed her. She was slammed to the ground. She let out a squeak and tryed to turn around. She finally did and was met by a man with a blurry face. She thought maybe, she hit her head to hard. The figure started choking the life out of her. Vixi gripped around the ground for a rock. She got it and knocked the man on the head. Vixi got up and started running, shots were being fired past her head. She just kept running, and she screamed for help. She looked behind her as she ran. She tripped and fell rolling over rocks and crevices. She rolled hitting a rock and coughed out. The man had caught up to her and smiles. "Goodnight miss vixi."He said covered her nose and mouth. Vixi's eye's flew open and she rolled to her side. She coughed and held on to the side of the couch. She groaned and layed back on the couch. She looked around and pushed herself to sitting position. She had a splitting headache, she made a face and rubs her temples.

Irish Ice Queen

He finally made it back to the house after a bit, strolling to the stairs to place his foot onto the wooden step. Harrison pushed his foot against the wood to bring himself up the stairs, letting a small breath leave him. For the few seconds of going up the stairs, he briefly pondered how his mother and sister were doing alright on their own without him there. He'd visit them on the weekend if he could, maybe sooner. He wasn't sure.

Pushing the door open, he let his eyes fall onto Vixi, a worried frown seeping onto his features. "Headache?" He asked gently as to not hurt her head, quietly shutting the door and walking over to sit by her on the couch.

Vixi looked up as he walked in she nods."you could say a headache of sorts. How was Diablo ? You don't look like you been skewered by his horns"she said. When he say next to her . Vixi leaned into him and breathed him in.Vixi clung to him, her dream was so real she was almost murdered in it. She hid her face into his chest.

Irish Ice Queen

"I was too fast for him," he joked lightly. As she leaned into him, he let himself sit back a bit so she could bury her face into his head. Harrison lifted a hand to gently rub her back, "what's wrong?" He asked with genuine concern, tilting his head down to gaze at her.

Vixi nodded at his comment. He was comfy and made her feel better. "Nothing just a bad dream." She said. Vixi leans into him, she sighed and looked up.She looked at him, "you don't need to worry about me I am a tough girl."She said. She ran a hand through her hair, and groaned."this pain does suck."She said

Irish Ice Queen

He kept his eyes trained on her to make sure he didn't miss any details about anything. Maybe he was some kind of bad luck charm; the poor girl got beat up by some bastard, and then shot at by some other man. Harrison felt bad about it all, and despite her telling him not to worry, how could he not? "That's exactly why I'm worried," he uttered to her, "because I know you'll push yourself." He watched her push a hand through her hair, a soft breath filtering through his nose. "Yeah... I've had my fair share of pain. Are you sure you don't want anything? Advil?" He offered, raising a brow to her.

"Seriously I will be fine. You know how many times a horse has kicked me in the chest. Yeah it's definitely not fun but happens hazard if working on a farm even Diablo has nicked mea few times.though it was my fault wasn't paying him attention."She said"looks like he gave you a work out. Yeah Lucifer tired of him in hell and dumped him hear."She says joking. "So stop worrying I get myself banged up, bruised up and hurt almost weekly here."She says. She gave him a small smile and kisses his cheek."but thanks for worrying" she said and wwnt to stand with some effort" okay so dinner?" she said. It was hurting her to breathe as she stood. She covered it up as she looked at him.

Irish Ice Queen

He listened to her carefully as She spoke about all the occupational hazards that she'd go through. If this was a weekly thing for her, he was surprised that him and his inexperienced self hadn't gotten hurt yet. He gave her a small smile as her soft lips pushed against his cheek, quickly lifting a hand to hover behind her as she stood just in case she took a fall. "Sure," he replied, getting up himself.
