Hey All,


So as you may have noticed by now, the site layout changed again. While the style was previous updated, it wasn't a complete change since it was just an update of an existing framework. We had hoped that updating it would fix most issues users were having since it was extremely out dated by several years but that wasn't the case. A lot of things were still breaking and so I went ahead and powered for the past few days to dig up this old project which was something that previous staff members were working on to help us get away from the broken nonsense of RpN 2.0 and 1.0.


This update has made it a bit easier to release new functionality for the site as well as code visual things like bbcodes. A lot of the code/javascript that was loading before is now gone with 3.0 and your site should be much faster on any device.


If you have any questions or concerns please post below. If something is missing and appearing strange, go ahead and post about that as well.


I would like to thank all the users in the @Development Advisor group for helping me finish faster. Seriously you guys rule.
 
Is it possible to have the ad styler back to change some colors? I mean..theres so much blue and not many people love blue...

The Ad styler isn't coming back, sadly.

The Ad styler was a part of the previous framework, not something that a lot of things do.


I can't promise a color changer in the forseeable future, but I'll see what I can do.


The existence of that thing was the reason why we had so many problems in the first place.
 
The color scheme deserves some tweaking (don't ask me to what exactly), even if the end result comes back to this. There has to be a better combination.


And if it would be possible to have the default font in posts set to what it was previously (Tahoma? Trebuchet? Not sure) that would be great.

Seriously though, I was glad to be of help and the new look is pretty awesome. I haven't noticed any problems yet. If so, I'll make sure I tell you.
 
Will we have the option to change back to the old style? I really liked how simple and clean the old one's looked and 2.0 was my favorite, but this one is just kinda hard to look at...
 
Any way to shrink the header? The Notifs are now at the bottom of the page - invisible if I have another site open - like Google Docs - when someone sends a PM with a question about my RP's.

Can't say it doesn't sadden me, but I suppose practicality wins over graphic appeal when there are so many roleplay games held on a site, possibly needing different functions to excel their potential.


(Still, makes me sad I can't personalise my own RpNation page now.)

Glad you think so. With out all the crap that 2.0 was loading, which we hoped the update to said 2.0 would have fixed but didn't. With out all that garbage in the way 3.0 is truly a superior mobile experience and just an over all superior experience on tablets, pcs, etc.
 
Question about the messages icon in the main page header/bar thing, what is with the dot at the top right of the icon?

You honestly did a great job with sorting out the whole layout of the website since there were some struggles but overall the website is looking amazing.


So, awesome job ;D
