Realistic or Modern Stranger Falls Academy

Emily

♥ Fabulous Person ♥
Students,

Welcome, first and foremost, to Stranger Falls Academy. You will be spending the next few years of your lives here, so best make them good. Here at Stranger Falls we encourage academic excellence and full participation in the school community. The school grounds are at your disposal to socialise and make these years enjoyable and memorable. You will find coffee shops, libraries and lakes, all of which you may use whenever you wish, as well as your glamorous accommodation in the dorm rooms. I, for one, am very pleased to offer you such excellent facilities.

But this is not all here at Stranger Falls, for it is all about experience and memories. You will, without a doubt, witness gossip and drama behind your imagination, but amongst these scandals, you will find that the most unexpected friendships and romances will begin to form.

Until later, I wish you luck with your time here at Stranger Falls,

Mrs DuVont, Headmistress.

I walk into the empty hallway of Stranger Falls with a sinking feeling. I didn't want to be the first one here. Early, on the first day? Everyone would think I was such a nerd. Crap.

I walk over to the reception to sign in and am greeted by two snooty receptionists. A quick glance at my information pack tells me they are called Ms Miles and Mrs Maynett. They point me to the waiting room where I take a seat on a plush bench. I sit and wait to be shown to my dorms, or for someone else to arrive..

#Parker#

His morning, like always, had gone pleasantly well. Parker was a morning person, so rising up with the sun was no problem for this early bird. Today was his first day of his third year in Stranger Falls Academy and he did not want to be late. Parker's alarm clock rang at 6 A.M. sharp. He was out of bed, showered and dressed in under an hour. His light brown hair was slightly messy complemented his relaxed dressing style. After one last look in the mirror Parker opened the door to be greeted by the only girl in his heart, Marcy. "Hey girl! How are you this morning? Good? You want some food? Yeah? Oh yummy food!"

Marcy barked happily as she followed Parker down the stairs and into the kitchen. She was an old dog. Parker had gotten her when he was just a kid, so they grew up together. Marcy ran around Parker's feet as he grabbed her dish and filled it with dry dog food. "Now Marcy, sit." The dog barked before following Parker's command. She watched anxiously as Parker lowered the dish to the ground. "Alright you may eat now girl." Marcy barked once more before standing up, walking over to her plate, and beginning to chow down. Parker let out a chuckle and proceeded to cook himself some breakfast.

Two sunny-side-up eggs and a piece of toast later, Parker headed back into his room grabbing all of his stuff before heading out to the academy. Ever since he started going to Stranger Falls he had wanted to spend a year at the dorms, but the dorms didn't allow pets and he couldn't leave Marcy. He settled for finding a small apartment near the academy that allowed for Marcy to live with him. The Apartment Complex was only a five minute walk away from the academy, so Parker enjoyed the exercise.

As he made his way down the side walk Parker waved at several people he was acquainted to. "Morning Maurice, Hannah...Top of the day Mr. Fredrickson!..Have a good day Ms. Torres...Sup Chad! See yah first hour" It was as if he knew the whole school, but of course that was impossible. Parker made his way through the front doors of the academy breathing in the first day of school smell. He smiled at the new faces reassuring them there was nothing to worry about and continued greeting familiar faces.

Parker walked into the office. "Ms. Miles, Mrs. Maynett, you both ladies look splendid this morning." Parker complimented the receptionists outfits noticing that they put more effort on dressing today than they had any other day of the years past. Both women giggled their bitter moods forgotten for a second. "Oh Mr. Delton charming as ever. Please take a seat in the waiting room. We'll be with you momentarily." It was Ms. Miles who spoke. Parker flashed them a smile glad to see the frown off of their faces. "Thank you Ms. Miles, Mrs. Maynett. Have a great day ladies!"

Parker exited the office and walked over to the waiting room spotting a small blonde girl who appeared to be rather bored and annoyed by waiting. Parker walked over to her with a friendly smile on his face. "Good morning ma'am. Mind if I take a seat?" Parker pointed at the chair next to hers hoping she would allow him to sit next to her.

Lawson Dennison

Lawson trudged his way up from the dock, finally reaching the island by ferry after what seemed an eternity from leaving home. Neither of his parents accompanied him to his new school which left him sheepishly asking for directions. The man he asked simply pointed to the cliff where the majestic school sat and a small sigh escaped the young boy's lips at the long trek, uphill, ahead of him with his two suitcases in hand.

"Is there a quick way up?" He asked the man hopefully, his heart sinking as the snowy haired head shook. "You could run, but other than that, no. The buses are all at harbour on the north side of the island to transport all the students to the school. I'm surprised anybody is coming in on this side." The man explained and Lawson's heart sunk even further. First his parents force him to come this boarding school in the middle of nowhere without a say in the matter, then they buy him a ferry ticket to the wrong part of the island, true it wasn't that big of an island, but he expected they would have at least put more thought into everything.

He bought a bottle of water from the small shop next to the dock before beginning his walk to the school. At least there was only one road towards the school from this end so he couldn't get lost but it still took him almost an hour and a half to reach the school grounds. By the time he did Lawson was exhausted, his shirt clinging to his body from sweat and his arms sore from dragging both of his large suitcases behind him. He knew he probably looked like a complete mess - he felt like one.

Lauren looked up as a mysterious and taller boy approached her. Finally some company, she thought.

The boy looked older than Lauren, and definitely seemed to know his way around the place. Lauren had taken three wrong turns before even reaching the foyer, but the boy had just glided in swiftly as though this was just a part of his daily routine. He must be in one of the older years, Lauren decided. He asked her if he could take a seat.

"Oh sure! I could do with some company while I wait here for my room assignment." Lauren replied. "Oh, and please, call me Lauren!"

Lawson made his way through the halls, pushing past other students who had already arrived, following directions to the office and happily dumped his bags as soon as he reached his destination. "Ah, finally! Hi... I- Am I late?" He asked taking a deep breath as he leant against the reception counter, looking at the two middle aged ladies behind the counter.

"No. Only a few buses have arrived so far. Name?" One replied bluntly and Lawson quickly answered, taking an information pack the lady handed him before being told to wait in the next room.

He did as he was told, offering a small smile to the other people already waiting.

Lauren returned a smile to the other boy that just walked through the door. He was presumably a newbie to Stranger Falls just like her, judging from the information pack he held in his hands.

A cab.

A plane.

And now a stinking bus.

Nat's leg jittered, bouncing on the ground as her brow creased, showing her agitation. She wasn't uncomfortable or anything, she just really hates it when it takes this long to get somewhere and she can't even move. When the bus finally stops, she grabs her two duffle bags and swings them over her shoulder, off balance for a couple of seconds but managing to regain it. The flow of teenagers is slow to get off the bus and she rocks from one foot to the other. When she finally gets off, Nat walks quickly into the school.

She reaches reception and sings in, smiling slightly at the receptionists who pretty much just ignore her. So, she ignores them. After a minute or so of holding out the packet, the receptionist holding it just sets it down in front of her. Nat snatches it up and goes to sit with the rest of the people that seem to be waiting, figuring that it should be what she's supposed to do.

#Parker#

"Nice to meet you Lauren." Parker dropped his bags on the floor next to seat he was going to take "You have very pretty eyes by the way." Parker took the seat next to the blonde girl and shifted his weight to look her way. "My name's Parker. Parker Delton. Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before?" Parker waited for the girl to answer when another person walked in. Also a person he had never seen before. Parker's gaze moved towards the guy with very peculiar colored hair and Parker shot him a smile and motioned his hand in a short wave. Now he's definitely new. I'd remember someone with hair as cool as his. "Good Morning" Parker's eyes lingered at the guys hair for a moment, admiring his confidence and the way he expressed himself with his hair. The most Parker ever did to express himself was...well nothing. Kudos to him!

Parker's gaze returned to Lauren still waiting for her response, when once again another person walked in, a girl. By the looks of if she had had a rough morning. Parker toned down his cheerful morning self knowing that it could be a bit annoying to someone who was having a bad day. Yet he still smiled at the girl and offered her a friendly, "Good Morning." The girl was really pretty. Her long brown hair framed her delicate features perfectly. Parker stared at the girl for a second longer than he should have. With a blink or two he returned back to Lauren waiting, once more, for her response.

Roll giggled, adjusting the backpack on her shoulders. she calls it a backpack. it was originally for hockey equipment, and was more like a duffle bag, but that didn't stop her from wearing it like she did. Her actual, normal sized backpack was attached tightly to the suitcase she pulled behind her. she had finally made it to the school. smiling around at the front hall, she took in the sights around her. students passed by, some seeming to know their way around, others looking unsure. a few even turned around, looking for wall signs. Roll had been smart enough to print out a map of the school before her trip, and pulled it out now, looking for the highlighted route she needed to take. it took her little time to find the desk she was looking for.

"Seeds, Emillie." she stated, leaning against the edge. one of the two ladies went to a box of folders, searching for her packet. while she waited, Roll leaned her elbow on the desk, her chin in her hand.

"so how do I go about becoming a receptionist?" she asked, smiling. the ladies glanced at her, the one smiling smugly.

"Honey, you don't. there is nothing about this job you'd like."

"Eh, I don't know about that." Roll grinned wider, standing up straight. "I get to sit around all day, typing things in, maybe have a radio playing in the background. meet new people, see regulars. sounds fun, to me."

"Follow that path then. see what you think when you're forty." she was handed her information packet, so she saluted, picking up her suitcase.

"I'm sure I'll be loving my life." she walked into the waiting room, surveying the faces. two seemed to be chatting, the others just getting settled in. so she silently moved into a chair into the corner. pulling out her headphones and putting them on, she turned up the music until she was curious if the others in the room could hear it.

'eh, if they can, they'll be hearing the good stuff.' she thought, smiling down at her mp3 player.

Lawson happily sat on the first chair he saw, leaving his suitcases against the wall near the door. The prospect of sitting was incredible and let out a soft sigh as he finally sat, leaning back in the chair and closing his eyes. 'Boarding school and I missed the bus. Just my luck.' He thought to himself, taking a moment before he opened his eyes again and looked around at the other people in the room, waiting for their room allocations like himself.

"I'm Lawson, nice to meet you." He turned to the boy who had greeted him before as he flashed him, and the girl he was sitting next to, a small smile. He ran a hand through his hair which was damp and fixed his fringe over his forehead. Hopefully somebody would come and lead them to their rooms soon so he could take a shower to clean the sweat and dirt off him and change his clothes.

"Morning." Nat replied, smiling slightly. He doesn't seem at all bad. Not like a brat or anything, anyways. She watched him out of the corner of her eye and held in a small smile, shooting her brain a reminder. No matter how nice or sweet someone might seem, they can always be an entirely different person. Even if they have eyes that make you want to stare at him. She looked away, chiding her brain and instead looking around the room at pretty much anyone else. No one looked bad or anything, at least not at her immediate judgement. Since it was entirely new to her, though, setting and all, she just kept to herself and listened in on the blue haired girls music, curious.

"Awww you're too kind!" Lauren replied, "Nice to meet you! Yeah, I'm new, you seem like you know the place, though!?"

Lauren nodded at the new people who were walking in, and offered a small smile in greeting.

An elderly man- presumably a teacher- walked in, and when he noticed all of the people sat in the lobby, he let out a small laugh. "What are you lot waiting for?" He asked.

Lauren replied warily. "Urrrm. I think we were waiting to be shown to our rooms or something?"

The man laughed once more and replied; "You'll find the room keys outside your doors, and your door numbers in your information pack! You can all go and get unpacked, take your time." And with that, the man left and entered a door to his right marked 'Staff Room', proving Lauren's earlier assumptions. that he was in fact a teacher.

Lauren looked inside her information pack to check for her dorm number. "214".

"I could have already been showering?" Lawson groaned quietly, more to himself than anybody in particular, honestly hoping nobody heard him but the look on the teacher's face before he walked out told him at least he did and a light blush crept onto Lawson's cheeks.

He excitedly rummaged through the pack of notes and general information about the island and school to find the sheet that told him what room. "292... Palindrome." He mumbled and looked up at the girl who had already found her number as well. "Want to find our dorms together?" He suggested knowing that with his sense of direction he would get lost on his own.

"Sure!" Lauren replied. She stood up, eager to see what her room looked like. She couldn't wait to get settled in here.

Lauren waved goodbye to Parker, "Sorry, I'm gonna go see my room, but it was great talking to you! See you around!"

He gratefully smiled and waved a little to everybody else left in the waiting room before wheeling his suitcases out behind himself and the girl. "You seemed to have packed reasonably light... I don't believe I properly caught your name." He looked at her luggage and then at her with a small smile still gracing his lips as they went wandering the halls together in search of the dorm rooms.

Nat's face burned fire red for a second but she covered it up as best she could by leaning over the packet, searching for her own room. "Ok then, 220." She muttered to herself, before grabbing her bags and slinging them over one shoulder. She started out of the room after catching her balance, packet in one hand and bags in the other and starting down the hall, more than slightly confused but covering it up to save her pride. She flipped through the packet, looking for a map while she walked.

((I'm probably going to be out for the rest of the day... I might be on tonight though so I'll post then!))

"Oh, I'm Lauren!" she replied to the boy who had offered to accompany her to find their dorm rooms, offering a beaming smile. "Yeah, I'm a pretty light packer, I don't believe in over-packing. And you are?" { @Blondiemon }

Lauren waved goodbye to Parker as she went off down the corridor, "Sorry! I gotta go find my room but I'd love to find you later and talk more! It was great meeting you, maybe you can show me around sometime?" Lauren suggested. { @NessieAlways }

Camryn and Johnathan swerved into a parking spot right next to each other, they let the other people take the bags as they added their tags which had their name and grade on it. Camryn and Johnathan smiled as they walked in it was they're last years so they basically knew where the rooms were, as they got they're forms, they went straight to their separate rooms seeing the bags already there. After putting everything up they walked around, Camryn smiled as she talked to some cute guys, Johnathan had a headphone in as he winked at some ex girlfriend

Roll was having a blast in her own world, tapping her toes and hands to the beat. When everyone started to move, she perked up, leaving her headphones around her neck. The music was clearly audible now. Glancing around, she noticed people digging into their information packets, so she copied. Her room number was on a little card with her name on it.

"Two- nintey three! 2-9-3!" She said in time to the music. She jogged down the hall, passing people to get to her room. She liked organising things into place. She propped her door open, rumaging through her backpack until she found tape, and returned to the door. She taped the little card onto it, just under the room number, and scrawled "just call me Roll" in a blue sharpie onto it. Stepping back, she admired it.

"Looking good!" She huffed happiliy, pulling her headphones back over her ears. "Next task, speakers."

Leaving the door open, she unzipped the duffel bag, pulling out the picture on top. In it was her and three boys, the boys having guitars in their hands while Roll just had a pair of drum sticks. Setting it on her desk she Roll continued to empty out the duffel bag, moving clothes into drawers.

"Let's meet up for lunch!" Parker waved away Lauren as she and the cool hair guy made their way to the dorms. Parker felt a bit depressed that he couldn't live in the dorms. He would miss out on the late night parties, the gossip, but most importantly, he would miss out on the Dorm Family. The Dorm Family was a bond that people living in the same dormitory built over time. Friendships, hardships, relationships, the dorms offered everything...well almost everything, they didn't offer a home for Marcy and where Marcy wasn't welcomed neither was Parker.

Parker watched as the first year students made their way out the room and into the academy. He however was still waiting to meet the adviser in regards to his schedule. Parker wanted to take specific classes so he could apply to university that offered a veterinary program. The adviser said he would help him out before his first class, but the clock was ticking and the adviser was nowhere to be seen.

"Oh I'm Lawson." He replied happily and walked a couple steps behind Lauren, letting her lead the way while he tried desperately to orientate himself amongst the hoards of people moving through the hallways and corridors. "I personally don't believe in packing light... Don't know when I'll next get to go home, so..." He shrugged his shoulders softly and nodded his head towards a hall with a sign labelled '200 - 250' He was sure his wouldn't be far off and would be fine on his own from here. "I guess I'll see you later then Lauren. It was nice meeting you." He smiled widely at her and waved with one hand before walking further down the main hall, finding the corridor that led to his dorm room.

He smiled at the girl obviously just moving into her dorm room next door as well and made his way into his room which was unlocked and pushed his suitcases next to the wardrobe to unpack later before flopping backwards onto the bed in the corner of the room.

Lauren smiled goodbye to Lawson and went into her new room and catapulted her stuff onto the bed. She propped up a photo frame of her smiling family on the window sill and looked inside her light suitcase, preparing to unpack and sort through her belongings. She had to get ready for the Stranger Falls party later, and so she began to unpack her clothes to find what she should wear. Lauren held up a sparkly dress and looked at it through the long mirror which hung from the wall. Too dressy. Jeans and a t-shirt? Too casual. As Lauren sorted through a pile of tightly-packed clothes, she knew it would take a long while.. Not to mention re-doing her hair and makeup. She would be here until the party started, but at least that would give her a while to figure her way around the room.

It didn't take Roll long to unpack, it was just throwing her clothes into drawers and books on the shelves. The longest time was put into making her bed, complete with the homemade stuffed toy she made as a kid. Gripping the information pack, Roll flopped onto the bed, flipping through the pages. She pulled out an orange one, reminding her about the party. Upon seeing that she tossed it aside, letting it float to he floor.

"Alright. Be there or be square. I'll see how I feel then."
