Realistic or Modern Stranded (Interest Check)

@Darth Revenant

Of course it'll bring interest, especially when there are weird minds like us who enjoy the crazy idea of needing to survive with over imaginations thinking evil, devil-worshipping, cannibal demigod-sorceror-human-sacrifice-wait-is-that-a-giant-centipede-coming-out-of-the-mountain-AHHHH!!!

Anyways, with great minds comes crazy thoughts, right? Ehheh.

1) I like you're basis to keep a min to two characters a person, because A) sometimes micromanaging too many characters can become overwhelming and B) it can give a chance to balance against all the characters.

With @The Doorman 's example some characters take the light and ignore their own, would mean more I think on having a set up for each person in the play, so instead of character a, b and c posting a,a,b,a,c, it should be a,b,c,a,b,c etc to give proper share. (Unless of course say character b got sick and didn't post for a week without notice well than some alteration would be acceptable) I guess what I'm trying to say if this becomes a thing, which it totally should, the line of respect should be made clear everyone needs to be able to post equally.

Right? Or did I ramble too much? Both?

2) character development, character relationships, character health and progression is survival, everything you mentioned. Awesome. Adding in a few secrets/caves/castle (maybe ruins instead or like a pyramid sorta style?) Awesome.

Possible concerns or ideas I have to add:

Shipwreck. How big is the boat? Cruise ship would be too large... How did everyone meet on said boat, if at all? Perhaps it was a fisherman boat? Small supply boat? Maybe people missed their ferry and the captain was nice enough to let them aboard going the same place? Was the captain the cause of the desertion? A shipwreck is kindve difficult.

Personally I suggest a plane crash. Or give players options of an unfortunate event that can lead to their becoming stranded?

Second, if it's a secret, what's going to be the clues that lead to it?

Is there people that will be protecting this secret? (Indiginous people? not necessarily cannibals :P )

What would be the reason, cause and effect for if this secret is discovered? A curse? Someone dies? Plague? Government conspiracy? Sacrifice? (To just throw in others ideas already mentioned) Nothing at all?

2.5) otherwise I really like the idea of this all together, and can't wait to see it through :) and I agree. A lot can be created through the actual experience. Hazaa!

I agree with the plane crash idea -- it'd kinda give a reason for the diversity of our characters. I'm so excited for this RP, it really seems like it's coming together. [: And yes! The whole giving proper share with posts idea is a pretty good one. Get everyone involved, and give everyone a chance to have a say in things. I just really hope it works out well. Maybe they don't necessarily have to post in order?

Why don't we have a post order just to kick it off, or maybe on the off chance that everyone's on, but do a non-specific?

I would, personally, get very tired of a posting order, as I like to just GO and if the flow gets a little bit jagged, so be it as long as the road ahead is still worth it.

I don't care for wading, darlin', I'm captain of the swim team, I prefer to soar! LOOSE THE ANCHORS, this man's a hurricane a'brewin' in the hundreds!!!

I suppose the part where I made it look like a specific post order was a bit much... I agree with both you, @TheDoorman and @LuckLacked , a specific order may getting boring quick. I merely meant, really. Just not one of us go posting overboard making it difficult for everyone involved to be apart. You know?

I get that, just try to keep it a group rp, I have responsibilities so I'll let ya know when I'm gone and we should keep from having posts between two-three people, none of the 1x1 one liner crap that leaves us with pages when the group should be together.

One other problem I tend to see would be god-modding, careless grammar (Which makes it hard to read), and if peeps have big posts, at least get the idea of what's happening.

I have a lot of RP nitpicks that are from low-skill learners, I get you aren't the best, but please try.

I like to make big posts and I hate being ignored because of it, I'd like to see consistency as I can't actually tell what you are doing when you put quotes everywhere, one liners, and glaring errors, I can't tell what you are saying and if you can't understand someone like myself I would be willing to give clarification, I just can't make it clear enough that it's hard to RP with people who don't care, though I know there are people with reasons.

Well. Say hello to the me of explanations, he will be here while we discuss.

Um, okay, so... Yeah.

I'm trying to come up with a decent set-up. Everyone says a plane crash is more plausible, so a plane crash it will be. Other than that, nothing else to report. I want there to be a sense of mystery and intrigue to the island, but I wouldn't go as far as cannibals. Of course, we don't have to have everything pre-planned before the RP starts. We could just as easily add to the world/RP when things begin to get stale or when they suit the plot.

As far as a posting order goes, I think that it's necessary with the number of people who are interested. Quite a few of you want to do this, so there has to be some sort of system in place to make sure everyone's character(s) get a chance to act without being swept by two or three more active RPers. I might just step out of the RP and observe it. I still don't know yet for sure. What I do know is that we have basic set-up; a plane crash. If and when the RP starts, I'm going to fast-forward it past the plane crash. So our characters will start off having survived the crash. Is everyone cool with that?

Cool with me, I'm just wondering, will there be NPCs? Basically I am wondering if this will be a survivor colony where we are trying to keep a large group alive instead of a small group? I'd definitely prefer having a large group so that we could deal with problems and issues without relying on people to reply all the time. If you'd like I could make NPCs, I have no problem making fifteen or so NPC characters for the RPers use to flesh out the world.

Sure. Go ahead and do that if that's what you want to do. I'll sure as hell appreciate it and it is a sound plan.

[QUOTE="Darth Revenant]As soon as I get more consensus on what we're doing.

Lead us to victory good sir!

Or if you aren't confident perhaps choose someone else to GM/DM it?

Up to you! ^^ Seems like you have plenty of interest though =D

It would be nice to have a co-mod/GM. I'm not power-hungry. If anyone else wants to pitch in and help run things let me know. Believe me. Help will be appreciated.

@Masks of Ayn -> The next step is to see who wants to help run things (GM/DM) and the thread should be coming shortly after that.

I'll co GM.

Hell I'll write the thread up if you want, I could do it tis evening and have it ready tomorrow morning.

I'm a strong writer, if you need someone to help you set up the threads, lmk, if you'd like I could give you some samples of my writing.

I'll gladly help right/dish it out. I enjoy create settings, moods, etc, anything that may need a second pair of hands on.

However currently, as I am about to lose main Internet source in an unpredictable time of january, actually helping run it as Co GM/DM I just don't think will be fair. (Not that it'd impede ability to reply as a player )
