1: Yeah, essentially, the only difference between ranks and titles is the roles. If you're a scientist/researcher, you'd use scientific role titles, if you're part of the investigation teams, it's things like Detective or Agent. But you've got the gist of it down.

2: Yes, they can, as vampires in this world are not necessarily undead, just defy all known science. You can be born or turned in this world, but the naturally born are far stronger than turned.

Honestly, all I ask is a semi-advance to advanced writing style, and as long as your active enough where the flow doesn't get too cluttered, you'll get no complaints from me!! That's sadly what happened with Lockheed, and I wanna be sure a thread I run/am part of doesn't fall into that cycle again. If anything comes up where you know you won't be super active, just gimme a heads up a day an advance or if it's an emergency, that way we all at least know you're okay.

i can promise a couple of entries a week. i most definitely fall into advanced writing by what most people consider that to be. I can supply you with some writing ssamples in a PM if you'd like. But my concern is the RP requiring constant daily attention. That, I simply wont be able to keep up with.

Oh, no, it doesn't have to be daily, just as long as the flow is smooth and consistent, I'm all good with a couple of entries a throughout the week. People have lives after all, I gotta be ready as I have a child on the way, so my time is preoccupied with my lady myself.

Back then, Rping online consisted of dropping into a chat group and proclaiming that you were a wizard walking down a forest path. very "IM" styled and very hard to keep track of familiar people. My personal "golden age" was when forums were THE place to RP. kinda been dying out in recent years.

But I digress...

I've never seen Helsing, and not overly familiar with SCP. But the Hellboy inspo is what really caught my attention. A nice fresh bloom in a field of otherwise stale isekai, GoT, and Academy RP monotony. lol

I'd definitely look into SCP, I've always loved it, especially the writing style the stories tend to use.

i see places like Discord being a big migration, tbh. And other "App" places that are beyond my scope. But (and this is just my personal opinion) a lot of the public servers on Discord are quite lack-luster and poorly organized, and very often their creators dont give the effort needed to keep the ball rolling.

I figure thats why places like RPN and some other Forums I'm on now have outlets to Discord. They didn used to. but they are trying to reach out to the meandering crowd

Funny thing is... Discord used to be browser-only. They went mobile like a year or two after I joined

my biggest irk over Discord, is that everyone is so "immediate" about their responses, and its very hard to find servers that appreciate multi-para "novella" writing-style. I figure its because most people now access it via phone.

Well, I'm not very accustomed to the novella writing style myself, probably mostly because I have trouble with detailed descriptions.

ive been on plenty that allow multiple. But i personally, dont normally RP as more than a singular figure. So thats never been an issue.

anyhow... i think im gonna get to work on conceptualizing a character. I know there isnt a CS template out yet, but i can bang out the usual statistics and background and such until one is made.

Even when playing one character, I still have a hard time finding enough stuff to fill up multiple paragraphs. In fact, I think having multiple characters helps with that, because it allows for more banter and interactions between them.
