Fandom Star Wars - Rogue 2 - A Fantastic Distraction

When the idea for this RP came to me whilst me and Funk were debating what our next RP should be - the discussion being solely about Star Wars of course - I wanted it to be something that could plausibly be canon, even if only kinda. Funk really wanted us to do Rogue 1, and I agree that Rogue 1 would be kinda cool, but any of the glamour that might've come from quietly thinking we took part in Star Wars lore just a little bit would inevitably be gone by the time Rogue 1 the movie actually came out. For example, our characters would never have existed, and the things we did could have been completely out of whack with what Rogue 1 actually did in all but the broadest brush strokes.

But as Rogue 2, the unsung heroes, well...

There's no proof we didn't is there?

Like, as a good example of how awesome this can be, I also do some Star Wars: Clone Wars RP on a GMod server I've come to like a lot, and I'm a Clone Engineer sergeant.

Recently, me and my engineer buddies had to keep the Venator alive whilst a bunch of terrifying shit happened to it, such as the AI core going rogue, the power generators being sabotages etc etc, and between these staff-made events, we would keep running tests and doing research on the bombs being planted, and the viruses being uploaded etc.

Eventually, it culminated in some final research on some explosives found in the medbay showing that 1. They had the same chemical composition as EVERY OTHER CHARGE EVER PLANTED ON THE SHIP and 2. These ones had never even been intended to blow up.

Instead, the had symbols in them.

OOC, we'd agreed that it was the Symbol of the Galactic Empire. IC, we ran it through a Galactic Database and it came up with nothing.

But that made us more suspicious, because it should have given us false positive results, but it actually got nooooothing.

I suggested that it had been deliberately erased from the database, and my officer said it was impossible because there was only one person in the galaxy who could do that.

Palpatine.

We glanced at eachother for a moment, and then formed a plan.

We had to access Palpatine's computer - his personal one - on Naboo, his home planet. To do this from out ship we would have to alter the angles of the communications dishes very subtly, so we snuck onto the fucking bridge under the guise of routine maintenance, and made an uplink to it.

We hacked it and found nothing - so our officer kept scanning it, expanding the search from just 'that symbol' to other shit, and he eventually found a very well hidden backdoor passage to a remote space station in...

Separatist Space.

We found the symbol on that station's network, as well as a bunch of other stuff. And just when our officer started to panic and order us to shut everything down, delete the data, and forget everything... I found Order 66.

Now, my character was in love with a Jedi, and so he began vehemently denying that he would ever obey, and everything was so unbelievably dramatic and it was fucking awesome.

In the end we agreed to never speak of it again until the day that Palpatine started making his moves - and I kept on muttering that I would never turn on the Jedi under my breath, like a bit of a madman.

And for just a moment, we were the three most important characters in the Star Wars universe.

But I guess we were all killed in action before we could do anything.

And that was Role Playing.

@Bazmund Thats epic man.

Ive no doubt in the potential of this rp. I was hooked from the moment I read the intro.

I really hope that the movie is like, 95% air/space combat. There is plenty of bad ass lore about what the rogues did that can be drawn from.

There's gonna be a lightsaber duel of course. I mean, that's part of the basic formula for every Star Wars film.

Would this still be open, by chance? I just watched TFA and now I need to do a Star Wars RP or else I'll thermally detonate

Well damn. If this is still open I want in as well. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good Star Wars RP these days (that stays alive for more than two pages). Is it only me?

Either way I had a little question. I was in a RP kiiind of like this one, honestly, and it was detailed, so the CS is, in my opinion, one of the finest ones I've ever done. Miiind if I do a little copy paste of it? It is mine, and the character fits in perfectly to the canon.

Yeah sure, go ahead. I'm just gonna mention again that for the most part - and in particular, everything in the future, from where we stand now in the timeline - we're following the New Canon. I still headcanon Revan and stuff for the past, but the new canon dominates the future.

There, I posted. It took me FOREVER to figure out his loadout, but I figured it out in the end. I need to fix one wee thing with the image thats not showing up, but that shouldn't be a big problem. Is it good?

And I can't stress it enough: This CS was made for an extremely detailed RP and it was accepted, so I hope its good enough.

Looks good to me.

Btw, if Organa gave Helios the assignment also, maybe he mentioned to keep an eye out for Rhiannon?
