Spoiled little Rich Boy

Her eyes were shut close when she was expecting to fall but then someone caught her in their arms safely, but then she didn't hear any sound of books falling down on the floor. When she opened her eyes, she saw Syrrus right in front of her. "S-Syrrus!" she said softly and looks around to see the books was safely on his hands and leg. She was amazed on how he caught it to smoothly. "W-wow, thanks Syrrus, if it weren't for you....." she said looking into his eyes then suddenly looking down to those books. "...the books would have been damaged." she said cheerfully and takes two books first from his leg and starts climbing up the ladder. She didn't care if she was the one who was injured, she somehow cared more about the books.

((sorry, this is short as well))

Syrrus watched her climb the ladder, wondering for a moment if she perhaps needed some help of some kind. He wasn't busy, far from it; he had all the time in the world. “Would you like some help with that, Risa?” He asked, oh, so gently as he leaned back, his violin safely resting in it's case over his back. He didn't wish to leave it anywhere, not even at home.

The young man found it quite endearing that Risa cared to much for books, especially since they were just that: books. He supposed that liking a book was more noble than any other object as it contained knowledge and pleasure. He peered over his shoulder at his violin. He was in fact certain he would die would something happen to his beloved. “Why isn't your friend helping you?” He had already forgotten the name of the boy. Males was hard for him to remember, he couldn't explain why, not even if his life depended on it.

"Oh it's fine, I can just do this on my own, no need." she said as she goes back from the ladder and puts the back at a more lower shelf. "You finished with the book yet? If not it's fine." she said and turned around. Risa adjusted her glasses and smiles "Thanks for saving the books Syrrus." she said, not minding about him actually saving her.

When he asked about a friend, she didn't know who he was talking about but then maybe he was talking about Alex. "My friend...? I wouldn't... really call him a friend though... Alex is more of a classmate rather than a friend." she said, suddenly her eyes looked like she was sad. "Alex is a nice guy, but I just happen to know him because he is a classmate of mine in other classes, right now he is at his next class but I don't have one right now, I'll be having my french class starting at 3 pm." she said, looking at her watch which says 1:50 pm.

"So I still have plenty of time to be here in the library, and anyway I need to work now." she said and turns away from him but then remembers something. "If you need any assistance just ask one of the librarians here, or me of course, well then, I'll excuse myself now." she said before walking away from him and goes over to the counter.

Syrrus blinked a few times. Boy, this girl new how to ramble on about something he had no clue about. French? Classmates but not friends? He almost wanted to make a joke about getting some popcorn but decided against it. He was just annoyed due to Tabatha. Not that there was anything wrong with Tabatha, not at all. She was a cheerleader, she was perfect. She just happened to have a brain the size of a walnut. It wasn't fun to date a girl who didn't understand what a super-nova was. Or someone who hadn't read a single book from the eighteen-hundreds. If there was something Syrrus hated it was gossip-girls with no sense of logic.

“Actually.” He said as he followed her to the counter, he fished the book out of the bag and placed it on the counter. “You can have it back now. Nice stuff, I enjoyed it.” He gave her a slight smile, nothing else he could do really. Risa was very difficult to talk to. She didn't seem social enough to just have a simple chat. He had to be at Tabatha's place before five anyway, so taking the book back o the library now was probably the better option. Better than taking it with him to her party.

“Are you coming to the party?” He asked, out of nowhere. He assumed she was, as everyone else was going. Tabatha had made sure to invite the whole school. He was certain it had something to do with him, maybe to show off to the entire town that they were dating: which they weren't. Syrrus probably would have dated the girl, would it mean that he could stay at her place every day of the week, but it didn't which meant that he wouldn't be dating her any time soon.

Risa smiled when he said the book was nice. It's like whenever she talks about books,s he just turns into this other person. "I know right? I mean, I also cried at some poems at the last page, it was so deep, I loved it." she said with a soft giggle. She checks the book and puts back the card and has her library card back. "Do you wanna borrow another book?" she asked, wondering if he was the type of person to actually like books. She looked at him with curious eyes.

When he mentioned party, she tilted her head "Party? What party?" she asked and looks back down at the book "I don't think I've ever been invited to a party before... is it someone's birthday?" she added. She has been to a birthday party when she was a kid but that was all, she stopped coming when she was in high school. Risa wasn't much of a person who likes to party either. "But if I were to really go to a party, I think I would just be a wallflower there, I mean...." she stopped talking for a moment and somehow she looked sad.

Risa shakes her head and just smiles "I-I mean... I think I would just spoil the fun for the people at the party..." she said smiling but behind her smile was just deep sadness. "Anyway..." she lightly taps his shoulder "...make sure to have fun, and don't drink too much or you might get drunk, it's bad for your health you know." she said and sounded like a mother which was a bit cute.

Syrrus had to think about it for a moment. He didn't read much, at the same time he had read a lot. It was a strange mix. He knew all the classics and all the great authors. Unfortunately he had little interests in modern literature. He would rather have thrown himself off a bridge than hold one of the Potter books. “They were classics. Though I am not so sure I believe that Napoleon wrote some of them. Seems a bit far fetch, don't you think?” He chuckled and pulled one hand down his pocket. “And about other books...” He looked around, pondering. He supposed he could revisit the world of Sherlock Holmes, or perhaps Huckleberry Fin. At the same time he didn't want anyone to find any books on his person, especially not Tabatha. “I dunno, maybe next time.” He said, smiling at her. After all, he didn't even have a library card, he couldn't afford the fee.

It surprised him tat she didn't know about the party, the whole town seemed to be going. Who didn't want to spend their time in a top class mansion with a open bar AND a giant pool? Not that Syrrus was very good at swimming, water suited him ill. “I'm sure you are invited, it's a mouth to mouth invitation, so seeing as I told you about it you're welcome to join.” He smiled again, leaning against the counter while watching the empty library, no one came here during this time of day. “And don't be silly. People at parties are shallow, you can't destroy the fun for them because they're there on a mission.” He smirked slightly. It was true,no one cared what other people were doing as long as they were doing what they wanted.

The comment about drinking made him raise a tin and dark eyebrow. “You realize that I am an adult right?” He chuckled again. He was no silly teenager anymore, he didn't drink for the sake of getting pissed and end up in trouble, or to be noticed by the popular chicks. He drank because he was miserable and depressed, there was a big difference there. Though he never allowed himself to get drunk beyond reason, his reputation could crumble by one wrong comment and he didn't want that. Without his reputation he could just as well move.

Risa didn't want to but since he said that she was invited then, it couldn't be helped. It was like she was pressured to come to the party. "O-okay then... I guess I'll try... but what do I wear for the party then? Is normal clothes fine there or do I need to be formal?" she wasn't really that familiar with the modern parties these days so she was thinking if there was some rule about the clothes that has to be worn for the party. "I-I'll try to talk to other people as well..." she said with a fake smile.

"Don't you have classes this time of day? If you don't feel free to stay here and read some books with me." she said it without any hidden meaning to it and grabs a book from the borrowed books section and picks out some very old fairy tale books. The book had all sorts of tales written on it and it was quite intriguing as well. She opened the book and it had some pictures in it but only a little. When she started to read it, she looked like she was in peace.

She was reading about the little mermaid's tragedy and even three little bears. It was story after another, she just loved reading books. The library was like her sanctuary and she was thankful that it was a quiet place for her, not like other libraries where some people don't follow the rules and kept on talking inside and even damaging some books. The library she works for is a peaceful one.

Syrrus snapped his fingers. The idea came to him like lightning during a sunny day. Tabatha wouldn't mind if he decided this, she never minded anything Syrrus did. A the young man watched Risa grab a book she clearly loved, and ignoring the question if he had any classes to attend. Of course he did, but he had no interest in going. Syrrus sat down in front of her, smiling proudly and tapped a finger over the page where she was currently reading. “About the dress code...” He sad, thinking hard on it, trying to word it as classy as he possibly could, but failing that he decided to simply continue. “It's a masquerade party. We'll all wear masks and no one will know it is you.”

Syrrus was looking forward to it. He didn't quite know what he would dress up like, not yet anyway. He had a small idea, something classic, something... Victorian. In fact, he had just come up with the perfect thing and a way to allow his beautiful violin to attend the party. “In fact, I bet you will look fantastic. Do you know where Tabatha lives? The girl who's studying science?” He asked, humbly. He could of course pick Risa up, if there would be a problem, but at the same time he had a lot to do and had to make sure Tabatha wouldn't mind helping him out with his brilliant idea, he had to smootch her terribly as payment. "I'm sure your friend Alice knows." Alice... No, that was a girls name. Damn his memory and the strange black spot he had for males.

Risa stopped reading and was a but pleased that nobody will know who she is but then at the same time, she doesn't have anything to wear for the party. "I don't really have a fancy dress.... maybe I'll ask my mom if we have one... it's been awhile since I can dress up..." she said, a bit worried about the upcoming party. She didn't know anyone who will go there, it might be someone she is afraid of or someone really scary. "And for a Masquerade ball, everyone definitely needs a mask.... I guess I can buy one at some shop later..." she added.

"Maybe you could pick me up from my house? Here, I'll give you my address." she said, writing it down on a piece of paper and gives it to Syrrus. "This is where I live, are you sure it's alright with you?" she asked him, worried he might think that it's a burden. "It's not too far from the theater and train station." she added and somehow just imagining herself in a dress made her cheeks flush red. Which looked cute and she covered her cheeks. "Ohh, I'm getting nervous just thinking about it." she said softly and lays her head on top of the book's pages.

It has been awhile for Risa to actually go and dress up for a party, but this time it seemed like it was a popular party and everyone in school is invited as well. Thinking about meeting the same people but with fancy clothes, it might be a new experience for her.

It hadn't taken him any energy at all to make Tabatha do the things he had asked, she had just happily agreed on everything and paid even more out of her pocket. This was why he now stood beside a old fashion carriage pulled by two black horses. He himself was dressed in a old fashion suit, with frills and what not, it was all black and red, even the long cape with the high collar. He wore a mask of course, that was the standard of any masquerade ball. A beautiful silver mask covering half is face and been traditionally accurate but giving him a long beak. He carried a cane too, of course and was leaning against it with such grace it was impossible to tell that Syrrus actually didn't belong to any nobility. The boots he was wearing and the fake sword on his hip, together with the big hat with the even bigger feather made him look like a very fancy musketeer, something he'd wanted to be for his entire childhood.

The man lit the lanterns hanging from the back of the beautiful carriage before he walked up the path toward the house. It was getting dark and the lanterns really made it all look Victorian, something he very much fancied.

The young man proceed to the door, leaned the can against one arm and knocked on the door with one white gloved dressed hand. He then waited calmly by the door. He had to admit, as he watched himself in the window he thought he had made a brilliant job. Perhaps this evening could turn into something different than a boring young-people's party. Something romantic, he had built if up for it, after all.

By the time Risa got home, she asked her mother if she has a dress, unfortunately, she doesn't have one. But then her mother was so surprised that the fact that, her daughter is actually going to a party, not just any party, but a masquerade party. She cried for a bit and hugged her daughter which made Risa confused at first but then she hugs her mother back. Her little sister May wondered what was going on and then asked her where she was going. She told May that she will be going to a party. Little May wanted to come but it only allowed people from her school.

Her mother got an idea and decided to make a dress for her, of course May volunteered in helping as well, her mother had some spare masks and some spare dresses that she could use up to make one full dress. It took her about 2 hours to make it but it was worth it. Risa was amazed on how it fits so perfectly on her and it looked cute as well. Risa thanked her mother and her mother said that she used to do cosplay when she was a teenager so she was used to all the cramming work of making costumes. No wonder their were all kinds of costumes at their storage room.

Risa then hears someone knocking and she said it might be Syrrus who was outside waiting for her. "Oh, do I look alright?" she asked "Haha, you don't need your glasses you know, you do know you have perfect eyesight, my little girl is all grown up into a beautiful lady." she said as she fixed her hair and then puts the mask on her face. "Beautiful..." her mother said in awe. "Big sis looks beautiful!" May said and giggled as Risa opened the door and saw a man who was wearing quite the outfit, thinking it was Syrrus. "Hey there, sorry for the wait, we had to rush on me preparing the dress, do I look weird?" she asked, all embarrassed.

Her dress and mask:

Syrrus smiled at the young lady standing before him. She looked adorable and he had to admit he did like the look of her without her glasses. Standing with his back straight, almost as if he was about to salute her like a man from the army he then bowed before her and pulled on his long cape, gesturing towards their ride. “My lady, I am here to escort you to the prince's castle.” He smirked, and stood back straight, poking the frame of his hat with one long finger so he could see her better and so she could see his sapphire eyes underneath.

“And if I may say so, milady, you look wonderful this evening. Like the first star upon the heavens.” He winked at her. He actually had a gift for her, hiding underneath his other arms. Something he had completely forgotten. He removed his hat and knelt down before her and bought forth a beautiful box and as he opened the lid a pair of beautiful glass shoes could be spotted, glimmering like the most precious diamonds in the night. “If I may be so bold, milady... May I?” He asked, looking up at her through his mask before carefully lifting her foot up and carefully placing the shoe on it, it fit perfectly. Just as he had thought.

When Syrrus was done, he put his hat back on his head and stood. He gestured with his arm, the one holding his cane towards her. It was meant for her to place her hand on top his biceps. The only way to escort a true lady. "I will escort you back to your mansion, not a moment after midnight." The young man stood there with his back straight and his feet tight together, looking awfully formal. It was almost as if Syrrus was a decorated soldier. If only he had looked more muscly it could just as well have been through.

Risa wasn't used to hearing these kind of sentences but played along, it was like they were in a fairy tale story right now. Her mother was actually watching across the hallway of their house and so was May. She was fascinated on how good he was in acting like a prince. She was the princess and Syrrus was her prince charming. But then she thought, they should be in love but she doesn't feel anything like that towards Syrrus. Or maybe she does.

When he knelt down in front of her, Risa felt nervous but at the same time happy that he was doing this for her, and she wasn't really expecting something from him. Let alone him giving her beautiful glass slippers. She looked down at her new shoes and her eyes sparkled with interest with the shoes and smiled at Syrrus. "You really didn't have to, are these really for me?" she asked and giggled. She placed her hand on his arm like a princess would do and walked over to the carriage and rides in it.

Risa somehow began to be nervous as she was thinking about what others would say to her when they see her at the party later. "Ohh... what should I do if I mess up..." she worried and looked over to Syrrus.

“Of course you may keep them, your highness. Syrrus held the carriage door open for his little princess and watched her step inside. He enjoyed playing the servant of a king, it was far more romantic that being the actual royal. The idea of being able to lure the princess away from the man who she was suppose to marry certainly tickled his fancy. The young man bowed his head and stepped in just after her and closed the door, the curtains over the window was lightly parented and when the light from the lanterns throw itself inside the red silk made the inside of the carriage to glow with a beautiful red light.

The young man removed his hat and sat down opposite her, smiling gently as the driver made the carriage move forward, the noise of the horses hooves against the asphalt made the entire moment seem even more romantic, at least in Syrrus eyes. Why was he doing all of this? It was hard for him to tell. Perhaps the idea of lightly flirting with a woman who actually could count past twenty made him feel better about himself. He didn't like tricking women, far from it, but they were so easily tricked. He never wanted to do such things to Risa though, she was his little princess and he would protect her like he protected his violin, with care and kindness. Perhaps He liked her, perhaps not, but he sure enjoyed her company.

“Don't worry yourself, milady. You are the princess at this party. No one will know your true name, it's all an act. A beautiful little fairy-tale just for you. So please, my dear princess calm your thoughts.” He placed a hand over his heart, like a promise. “I might not be able to tend to your side at every waking moment but I promise to watch over you and make sure you are smiling that pretty little smile of yours, all night long.”

Risa sighed in relief and nodded, wanted to believe Syrrus' words and said "You're right..." she said and giggles and thanks him again. Somehow this was the first time that she was this thankful for a guy. "I'm sure everything will be alright till the end." she said and tries to relax herself inside the carriage. The feeling of having someone saying they would protect you, it made her feel safe and she liked that. She wondered if she was starting to like Syrrus, but then again, she denied it almost immediately.

When they finally arrived at the ball, she stepped out of the carriage and sees people in beautiful and majestic clothes. "Fairy tale..." she said softly and looked around, some guys were acting like real princes and some girls were acting like princesses. Of course, some were just excited about the party that was going to start. When she turned around, she saw a big mansion, it was her first time seeing one this big and there were even butlers and maids who were waiting and guiding the guests.

"Oh wow..." her eyes sparkled as she looks in awe at the scenery right in front of her. When they were escorted by some of the butlers and maids, she sees some couples already dancing to the graceful and classical song. "This is one big ballroom..." she said and wanted to take a picture of it but too bad, she didn't bring her phone with her. While she was looking around, some guys were already eyeing on her.

Syrrus stepped inside the mansion, still with Risa's hand on his arm, because that was how it was suppose to be. The ballroom, was very large indeed and by the end of it sat two very tall backed chairs, and upon one sat Tabatha, dressed like a evil queen with a tall and sharp looking crown. It was going to be a fun night.

Tables with snacks and drink had already been placed against the walls and the music which was playing from the speakers hanging from the ceiling, concealed by curtains were pumping out instrumental music. Every single track picked by Syrrus himself. He was good with music after all.

People was surrounding the room, talking to each other and waiting for someone to tell them the party had finally begun. It wasn't until Tabatha stood up that everyone went silent as she begun to speak. It was strange how committed everyone was to the idea, it surprised Syrrus quite a bit.

Tabatha hit the floor twice with her long black staff and Syrrus noticed his violin, resting on a table behind the throne. Good, she had promised to be gentle with it, which she had been. “Ladies and Gentlemen. I want to thank you all for coming and a hope everyone is prepared for the most fabulous party ever!” Tabatha was clearly not as good as playing the part of a noble as Syrrus was, but then again, perhaps he wasn't good at it at all; she was a proper rich girl after all.

Syrrus watched as people began to shuffle about the ballroom and began to dance, obviously not very good at the whole 'classic dancing', he assumed he had to show them and therefor turned toward Risa. “My princess. I know I am not your prince in question, but may I be so bold and ask you for your hand in this first dance?” He bowed before her, took her hand and kissed the back of it, all too gently. He'd show everyone how to dance a proper, romantic and Victorian Waltz. If it so had to be the death of him.

"So that girl is Tabatha... right?" she asked softly and was looking carefully at her dress, it looks evil but it has a certain elegance to it as well. 'Is she supposed to be an evil character or something? Maybe a queen, well she looks the part, she is so pretty too.' she thought as she looked at her outfit. Risa compared her outfit to hers and sighed. 'She looks more beautiful, I wonder why Syrrus keeps on spending his time with me rather spending time with this lovely girl.' she wondered.

Risa giggled and curtsied to Syrrus "Why of course." she answered with a smile as she held his hand and the other on his shoulder. Risa actually didn't know how to dance with a real partner but she sometimes danced the waltz alone when she was a child and a student in high school. So she wasn't quite ready about having a real one, she just thought it wouldn't come true since she didn't have any friends back then. "S-sorry, this would be my first time dancing...." she said quietly to him.

((sorry it's short))

Syrrus began to move from side to side, blowing the big feather out of his face. “Don't you worry, princess.” He winked at her below his mask and spun around, spinning her in a circle before pulling her back in against his rather strong chest.

The other students had stopped their dancing and was now watching the two of them in awe. The women in the room itched to get to dance with Syrrus and the young man was going to make sure the boys wanted as much attention from Risa as possible. He spun her around again and pulled her up close once more. “See... you dance beautifully.” He whispered into her ear.

When the dance stopped he would stand still, feet together and back straight like a soldier about to salute. He smiled at her, holding her hand gently and kissed the back of it again. “Thank you, milady.” Syrrus looked around and noticed that friend of hers, Alice or Alex or whatever it was. “My lord!” Syrrus said and bowed before him. “I didn't notice you, are you here for the queen?” Syrrus gestured towards Tabatha by the throne. “Or are you here for our beloved Princess?”

Risa smiled and curtsied to Syrrus after dancing, she blushed a bit when he whispered to her that she danced beautifully. After the dance, she saw Alex and was watching them, she was glad that he was there. At least someone she knows, he was a good... classmate? Risa still doesn't consider anyone her friend, even though they are nice to each other. "H-hi there Alex." she said as Alex was just staring at her when he Syrrus talked to him. "O-oh yeah, Tabatha invited me any my friends last time and here I am, she said she invited everyone, but then Risa, I thought you said you weren't really the party person?" he asked as he walked over to her. "Oh y-yeah, well Syrrus here persuaded me to come." she answered "I-is that so?" he said and smiled at her. He was enchanted with her beauty as Risa stared back, clueless of what Alex was thinking.

"O-oh, you wanna dance?" he asked her out as Risa looked at Syrrus, somehow she was confident now, well a little only. She took his hand and excused herself from Syrrus "Thanks for dancing with me Syrrus... I enjoyed it very much." she said and and goes over to the dance floor with Alex and starts dancing. This was actually his first time dancing something so formal and now, it was Risa's turn to teach him how to dance. He stepped on her a few times but then she forgave him so easily. "It's fine, just relax haha." she whispered to him as Alex did relax and starts dancing in sync with her. They really looked like they were having a great time together.

Finally finishing the dance, Alex and Risa were talking in one corner but then his friends excused him and starts pulling him for some kind of funny business. "Sorry, I'll talk to you later Risa!" he said before leaving with his friends. Risa then over to drink some water, since she was a bit tired from dancing.

Syrrus had decided to leave her to it, she was doing fine after all. He was going to spend some time with the host who was still sitting upon her beautiful throne. He bowed before her and kissed the back of her hand, causing her to look awfully proud. "Evening, your highness. I do hope you are enjoying yourself this evening?" He winked up at her and she smiled back. "Of course I am, Syrrus! Oh and your violin is right here, incase you want to play a song or two for me..."

Syrrus did indeed feel like playing his violin, but not for her or anyone else, but for himself which was why he approached it and took it off the table where it had been resting. His beautiful instrument lay like silk in his hand and he placed it over his shoulder, to tune it. This was when Tabatha turned off the music and pushed him towards the middle of the dance floor.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let me present my human consort who is going to be playing some music for us!" She sounded awfully excited, something that Syrrus had difficulty understanding. Why would anyone get excited by him playing such a silly little instrument, especially since he wasn't serenading them, or even considering to do so. He did however act his part and bowed before the crowed which had surrounded him before he put the bow over the strings of his beautiful lover of a instrument.

"You all have to excuse me if this sounds a bit out of tune..." He said, mainly for pleasantries than anything else and as he started playing it was greatly showing that it had just been a fake line of politeness for the melody coming from the strings was beautiful enough to thug on everyone's heart. It casused himself to feel awfully flustered and he had to close his eyes not to stain them with tears. His beautiful violin was playing music that was suited for heaven and it made him so glad, almost glad enough to make him fall in love with it, which was very strange indeed.

His upper body moved with the tone and his finger danced quickly over the strings, causing them to shiver by his touch.

Risa listened to Tabatha's introduction to someone, and she sees Syrrus with his violin again. "Oh, Syrrus is going to play his violin again." she said and puts down her glass and leans on the wall while she listens to him play a sweet melody from the violin. It was like a lovely serenade for someone and it made her heart race just listening to his performance. She closed her eyes and continued to listen to Syrrus playing. It seemed like almost everybody was listening to him play and most of the girls were entranced by his good looks and his talent for playing the violin.

She smiled and opened her eyes again and decided to go somewhere alone for now. She still wasn't used to the huge crowds around her and some boys tried to ask her out to dance with them on the way but then she refused them. Risa sat down on the sofa and sighed in relief, it was rather tiring for her today since she noticed that some people was staring at her. Saying that she already danced with some handsome gentlemen and some about asking her out again to dance.

"This is too much for me..." she said, looking down at her hands and then back at the ground. "I wonder... do rich people often like these type of parties, or maybe it's just for today, I also wonder if they always like to party." she softly mumbled to herself.

"It pains my heart to hear you say that, Princess." Syrrus said as he walked up to her. He had stopped playing the violin shortly after she had left the room and decided to go and find where she had gone off to. He smiled kindly at her and sat down on the armrest to the sofa. He couldn't say that he knew if what she said was correct or not, after all: he wasn't rich. He figured it was true though, that rich people did party often, it was mainly because he knew they enjoyed showing off their wealth.

He then decided to serenade her, just for the sake of it. He walked back and forth before her, thinking about what words to use. "I have a dream and you are there, high in the clouds somewhere, rain is falling from the sky but it never touches you, you are way up high." He looked up into the ceiling, blushing slightly. Perhaps this was a stupid idea, he was a good singer sure, but still. "No more worries, no more fears, you have made them disappear, sadness has tried to steal the show but now it feels like many years ago." Syrrus walked up to her and gave her a smile as he kneeled down and placed his hands over hers." And I, I will be with you during your every step, tonight I have found a friend in you and I will keep you close forever." He got back up and with strong arms pulled her up with him and began to spin, holding her hand and causing his cape and her dress to flourish in the air. "Come fly with me, into a fantasy, where you can be whoever you want to be, come fly with me!"

He smiled at her, noticing how is mask was slipping up towards his forehead and ending up like goggles on top of his head, seeing as the hat had already flown away. "We can fly all day long, show me the world and I will sing you a song. I will believe your every word, cause I, I have friend in you and we will always stay together."

Surprised by the sudden serenade, she listen to Syrrus patiently and she was somehow smiling while watching him. He had a nice voice as he did all those things while singing. When he finally finished, she giggled at the thought of him actually doing this kind of thing. Usually, this modern time, no one would do that. But since the party has this kind of themed party, she wondered maybe he just went with the flow or maybe he doing it because he was in character.

Risa looked at him "Well that was unexpected..." is the first words she said after the whole serenade thing. "I think that was very nice, you have a nice singing voice as well." she added and leans on the sofa more and looks down at her hands. "Why are you here? You should be with your friends, and I can even here Tabatha looking for you, listen." she said, hearing Tabatha actually looking around for him. "Don't make the 'queen' wait Syrrus, haha." she teased him and stood up. "I'm going to get something to eat for now, I'm fine alone, so go on." she said and stood up and leaves Syrrus and goes over to the buffet.

She got some fruits and some fish for her to eat, some guys ended up talking to her again and was even trying to impress her. 'I never actually talked to guys like these... if they only knew who they were talking to, they would really flip out that it's really just the boring and plain librarian.' she thought and softly giggled. And it made the guys think they were the ones that were being laughed at. "What's funny" one of the guys asked as Risa shakes her head "Nothing really..." she said and smiled at them and continues to giggle at the thought she was thinking.

Syrrus could of course hear Tabatha from miles away, he wasn't so certain that he enjoyed the thought of her finding him. However, as soon as Risa left him alone by the sofa he was attacked by two other girls, who apparently knew exactly who he was but then... they were the sort of people to start a fan club for him, so he wasn't too surprised.

The girls instantly decided to leech onto each of Syrrus arms, making it plain and obvious for everyone else that Syrrus was the dark dressed violinist and he got a lot of comments from some boys who threw around homophobic insults towards him, something Syrrus ignored completely. The boys could think whatever they wanted, they could call him whatever they wanted too, because he was the man with every woman they desired wrapped around his little finger and it was indeed thanks to his boyish looks, manly charm and quick fingers. Unfortunately knowing this would hardly take him close to a proper relationships.

He walked back out on the dance floor where Tabatha found him and started to shout with the girls wrapped around him to leave him alone. Syrrus was rather thankful he was wearing his mask for that meant they couldn't see how very frustrated he looked. He could end all of this, he could shout from the top of his lunges that he was indeed the poorest guy in school, that he didn't have a cent to his name and the only reason he could afford going to college was indeed because of his personality as a Casanova and his skill with the violin.

However, Syrrus did none of it. He instead smiled towards Tabatha as she finally managed to get the girls off of him and watched as she pulled him along for a slow dance in the middle of the dance floor. He didn't much mind it, to please women was one of his few joys and he could do it in his sleep. What frustrated him slightly that night was how false everything felt. As he danced with Tabatha he looked around the room, the entire school was there, almost the entire town and now when they were wearing masks and outfits that wasn't their style Syrrus realized that it was the most obvious symbol of everyone in this room not knowing jack about anyone else and that they didn't wish to do so. Some boys was talking to Risa, he knew very well their type but they didn't seem to know it at all.

In here everyone were a blank slate, the image of what they either thought of themselves or wished to be and at the same time they all stood there looking just like Syrrus had always seen them, like strangers.
