Welcome celestialbody celestialbody to our little unit in the fight against the all powerful machine! I play a combination skill monkey, sniper ,and Medical Doctor of the party, a Roughneck named Jin.

Okay, I just started looking at the pdf, but if there's a specific class (Don't know if that's what it'd be called in this game but wither way) anywhere that I can fill to even out/ smooth out the team lmk!

I’m getting some dinner with the fam, but I’ll be online again soon.

Thank you. Dinner was good. Chicken Gnocchi soup. Nummy and delish.

celestialbody celestialbody There are several different character classes, but there are a few that are off limits, and others I would advise you to steer away from as a first time player of the system. The character classes that I'd advise you to look at the most are:
Archangel - flying fighter, master of the sky
Dreadguard - Heavy-hitting brick. Lots of points to customize their armor.
Outrider - operates a War Mount, but it is effectively playing two characters for paperwork needs
Packmaster - controls a pack of Gorehounds, but has the same drawback as the Outrider for having paperwork on all the Hounds
Roughneck - lighter weight combatant than the Dreadguard, but still a hearty fighter
Swarm Lord - controls swarms of bio-engineered killer bugs. Full description of the Swarm Lord is in the Lore tab in Spoilers.

Personally, I would lean more to the Dreadguard or the Roughneck. The Swarm Lord is an interesting option, though, if you want to go in that direction.

Just to let you know, our party makeup so far, we have me playing a Dreadguard that has upgraded to a Dreadnought as the team damage magnet, Purr is a Deliveryman/scout kinda guy, and Eonivar is a Roughneck. Our one NPC is also a Roughneck.

Another thing to share with you is that there is the option to either use the dice bot to make your rolls or I can use my own dice to roll for you. My friend Purr doesn't like the dice bot, so I use my own dice for his rolls.

I don't know how to use the dice bot on here so if you don't mind I trust you to make my rolls!
I'll read through as much of the material as I can tonight and look at the classes you suggested but tbh the swarm lord sounds really cool. I'll look it up in the pdf and check out the mechanics though and if it seems too complex I'll do something else lol.

The Swarm Lord was an extra class provided in an issue of a magazine called the Rifter and is not in the core PDF. I did post all the stuff about the Swarm Lord in the Lore tab, though. You can check it all out there. Once you have your class idea locked in, I can start rolling some dice.

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome, Celeste! celestialbody celestialbody

Real Life has been unusually busy and taxing in my neck of the woods. Hope all of you are staying safe and healthy out there.

Honor and fun,
Purr =)

Sherwood Sherwood
Toni tries to picture the general layout of the city in her head. “Ok. With this mess in the streets, I want war hawks up in the air providing a lookout for the Machine, and what we’ll do is stick to moving through the buildings, making doors by smashing through walls when we need to. With any luck, we can avoid the most of the fighting and get our Worm to the launch point. Let’s go.”
Is Chaska correct in thinking that Toni's new Host Armor cannot fit in normal doorways and therefore will require more smashing through walls than using portals meant for human use?

Because if that's the case, I am guessing Cerberus will likely be kicking up more noise, dust, debris, and every other sign out there that Legion might pick up on. Not to mention the Machine.

I wasn’t trying to say that, but instead of traveling in the open in the streets we stick to going through the buildings, making holes in the walls between each one where they meet but there is no doorway connecting one to another. Am I explaining myself better?

Psychie Psychie Both of your statements equate to the same meaning (at least in my funny head): "Bust through walls if necessary." Not "Hulk Smash And Make New Doors Everywhare!" =)

I don't have a strong image in my mind of Toni's new Host Armor. If Sherwood says, "Hey, it can fit through most doorways!" Then , using cover, I'm guessing we're not likely to be compromised by our own travel.

On the other hand, if he says, "Toni's new Host Armor is too large to fit through most doorways intended for human use," then I'm thinking we may as well send up flares to announce our presence (no thanks!). =)

Ultimately, as the PC Deliveryman of our squad, I would like Cerberus to be in a position where we surprise Legion (like Chaska has always done) - but how reasonable of a thing is that here? That's what I'm trying to get at. =)

I think I get what you both are trying to say. First, I will point out that Toni’s new armor can barely fit through most typical doors, but it is a tight squeeze.

But what I think Psy is saying is, and correct me if I’m wrong, if you are at a strip mall (for example), she suggests moving through the buildings by making your own doors if there is no connecting ones, letting you stay off of the street and hopefully less likely to draw attention. Is that right?

It’s not a bad idea but wouldn’t the act of making the “doors” create a lot of noise?

Pretty much. It may not be feasible for every block, but when a set of buildings are connected by a single wall, we can make our own entrance by pushing through the wall, assuming it is not all made of MDC materials. Simple drywall we can just bust our cut through in no time.

It will depend on how you make the hole. Using bone blades or mantis blades will make less noise than simply shooting it out punching a hole. Also, there is a lot of combat going on outside, so your noise might get lost in the mix.

I will also let you know that most of the buildings are going to be made of high strength SDC material and not MDC stuff. There are some exceptions to this, but in general there is no need to get stronger materials in building construction.
