Spider Over the Breaker Box

DarkledMind

*lo-fi noises*
Tony sighed heavily and placed his Louis Vuitton clad shoes onto his desk. Boredom clouded over his dark brown eyes as he glanced lazily around the large office. Paper work was littered everywhere and it looked like a mad house that was halfway cleaned up. He lit a giant cigar and took a deep drag off of it. The cloves and honey flavor through the tobacco was relaxing in his lungs and he let out the thick, flavored smoke slowly.

It was a lazy day at Stark Industries, and he was ready to take it easy.

Natasha entered the big building of Stark industries. Looking around in the entry hall she made her way to the elevators. She knew Hill had hacked into the database of the company to add her as a regular employer and get her security ID. She still felt a bit nervous each time she had to use her ID card. It wasn't like she didn't trust Hill with things like that but she had a feeling it must be harder hacking into a database which was created by THE Tony Stark than one of a regular company. She used the ID card to call for the elevator and breathed a bit relieved out as the green light lit up. The elevator doors swung open and she entered it with some other employers and pressed the number to the floor her office was in. Feeling a bit impatient because she knew she had to be in Stark's office soon to get a signature from him for some random paper work. She walked to her small office as soon as the elevator had stopped on her floor grabbing the folder smiling satisfied with herself. She had spent days trying to persuade the boss of the team, she was working in, to allow her to go to Stark. "What an idiot" she thought to herself while walking to the direction Stark's office was "a bit flirting and he allows everyone to do what they want"

The afternoon light streamed through the large bay windows of his office, looking over the large sprawling city of Santa Monica. The way the light shattered against all of the glass buildings of down town, and how the honey colored light was filtered through the smoke was delicious. A stray finger tapped on his collar bone in thought as he let his mind wander. Stark chewed on the end of his cigar as thoughts of electricity buzzed through his mind, coalescing into bigger and grander projects.

He could feel a field of energy that was a nearby elevator strolling upwards towards his lazy office. He rolled his eyes. So much for a lazy afternoon.

She cleared her throat and straightened her pencil skirt knowing she had to leave a good first impression if she wanted things to play out her way. Watching the numbers of the floor slowly but steadily going upward she waited for the elevator doors to swing open once again. As soon as the elevator had stopped and walked up to his secretary and smiled sweetly at her "Hi, I'm Natalie Rushman from the legal apartment. My boss told me to get Mr. Stark's signature for an important project we have going on at the moment... Could you ask him if it's alright to shortly sign these papers, please?" The secretary nodded lazily at Natasha already looking like it was too much to ask her to do. Natasha kept her sweet smile but felt like just walking in as the secretary announced her and the issue through a speaker to the office of Tony and walked slowly walked towards the glass door to Tony's office. "The infamous Anthony Edward Stark..." she mumbled quietly to herself as she spotted Tony knowing he has seen her as well.

Tony nodded towards her and took his feet off of the mahogany desk. He gestured her into the room while taking a deep drag off of the cigar. "Come here, come here." His facade slipped into place and he was all smiles and lewd looks. This woman was fairly attractive with the long red hair and the nice curve in her hip. A smirk spread across his thin lips.

Natasha walked in swaying her hips as she was wearing her high heels, taking in the scent of his cigar. "I am sorry to interrupt your..." she tried to think of the right word "creativity break, mister Stark..." She acted nervous and smiled shyly at him. "My boss,..." she cleared her throat as approaching his desk but leaving a respectful distance "Mr. Palmer asked me to get a signature from you for those papers" she showed him the folder she had been holding all the time. She couldn't help than notice that he wasn't bad looking himself. "It's about the negotiations with Hammer Industries, if I'm not mistaken..." she told him and gave him one of her more attractive smile.

Stark rolled his eyes and took the papers from her. "Dear Lord I hope these end soon." He chewed on the butt of his cigar and looked at the paper work, eying the paper work suspiciously. He waved over to a seat across from his desk. "Take a seat, this might take a while." He spun his seat around once before placing his feet back up on the desk lazily.

Sighing a bit she removed the papers from the seat and sat down, on which he had pointed at, and looked around in his office. Natasha tried to memorize every bit of the office in case it would come in handy sooner or later. She tried to look for hints of the suits or the man 'Tony Stark' himself as she didn't know much about him other than what was written about him by all the gossip magazines and news paper. As her gaze slowly continues its way to the view outside the window she couldn't help but mutter "wow..." under her breath. She adoringly watched the ocean and the bay in general forgetting for a moment why she was here and just enjoyed the view.

Tony looks up from the paperwork to gaze out of the window. A smile crept onto his face, taking in the 'view,' both of them. "Yeah, it's a great view. I chose this spot for a reason. Secluded and a great view." He snorted light and turned back to the paper work, his foot tapping out lightly. "So how long have you worked here? Never seen you around before, and I keep in close contact with Palmer." He flipped the page and furrowed his brow.

"This is really a nice place and you've probably chosen the best view from the whole place, Mister Stark..." she complemented him. Natasha needed a moment before she was able to break her gaze from the view and looked back at Tony focusing on her actual work again. "I've started working for Stark Industries about two weeks ago, sir.." Natasha answered him truthfully. Crossing her legs, she added "your legal department has head hunted me from a small local company. Apparently, mister Palmer must have thought I'm good enough to work here and for you..." A small but amused smile crept onto her face because she knew how everyone had been really surprised seeing her on her first day including that Palmer idiot. Based on the fact that she was never meant to work here unless it wasn't for Hill.

Tony flipped another page and stared at it intently. "Yeah? what firm did we hire you from?" He took a long deep breath from his cigar and blew it out away from Natasha, taking the butt out of his mouth to tap the ashes off the smouldering end. If she was as good as she said, then maybe he could absorb the firm entirely. By all means having a larger legal department was a necessity, especially during these negotiations with Hammer. Stark raised his upper lip in a light snarl as he was reading the documents. Damn man.

Natasha tried not to sigh knowing what he was probably up to. She made a mental note to call SHIELD later to make sure the company would say 'no' and confirm she had actually worked their. She told him the firm she had worked for and added "it's one of those good will chambers. Still having a dream" Hoping it would startle him enough to keep his hands off the chamber. "Are you satisfied, Mr. Stark?" she asked with a charming smile referring to the papers in his hand.

He snorted and grabbed a pen from his breast pocket, signing with elaborate strokes. "Mildly so, but I hope Palmer works harder on these things. It seemed almost lazy." Stark let out a great sigh and held out the paper work for her. "Thank you very much, miss...?" He raised his brows and looked over his nose curiously. Maybe, just maybe, he would ask her for a drink later. But just maybe.

"Miss Rushman. Natalie Rushman." she answered while standing up and grabbing the papers. "If you wish so, I can also look over the file and change a few things?" she suggested hoping to get a 'yes'. Therefore a reason for her to actually get nearer to Tony and maybe seak for information. She knew it was risky but it might be her last chance of seeing Stark and maybe later get information directly from the source.

He nodded curtly. "Yes, please. Take your time, though." He sighed and stretched lazily, putting his cigar out into the crystal ash tray. "Thanks, Nat." Tony flashed her a bright smile and crossed his arms over the desk, leaning onto the mahogany. Okay, the maybe was looking more and more likely now.

Natasha smiled sweetly back thinking that this man was indeed as charming as the media made him looking like. Yet she knew that she needed not to let his charms get to her. "You're welcome, Tony." she replied. referring to his first name feeling boldy because of him referring to her by her nick name. "Will that be all?" she asked him smiling.

"Unless you want to go and have a drink and get off of work early, no, that'll be all." He smirked a little and spun his large chair around again, playfully. Honestly, he could easily turn it into a business discussion. But he was so damned bored that a drink sounded rather nice. And he had decided not to drink in the office because he did tend to over do it.

She looked surprised at him but smiled while laughing a bit over his playfulness "that sounds lovely to me." It had been easier to get in contact with Tony when she had thought. Regardless the fact that he had the reputation of being a womanizer. He was nicer than she thought so it might actually be entertaining to go out for a drink and seeing where things would lead. Maybe even her mission would be over sooner than Natasha and Fury had thought, if they were lucky of course, she thought to herself. "What place did you have in mind?" she asked him

Tony made a slight humming noise and leaned into the tall backed seat. A canine bit down onto his lip and he rolled his eyes up in thought. He steeped his fingers under his chin and tapped them playfully. "Well. Are you a beer, wine, cocktail or hard liquor person?" A small tilt of his head and a barely perceivable smile flattered his features perfectly, dark eyes shining at 'Natalie.' He raised a thick brow and broadened his smile.

Natasha considered going for something lighter than her usual vodka. Slightly knowing that she shouldn't go with her favorite drink and settled for beer and cocktail to at least stay more or less sober and keep a straight thinking mind. Not sure how to act around Tony yet and what kind of relationship she needed and wanted yet. "I'm mostly into beer or cocktails." she answered smiling back at him. She sat back down on the chair, thinking if they already got into casual talking she could also become comfy. Looking at him "Lemme guess you're more of hard liquor person, aren't you?" she asked.

Tony waggled his eyebrows a little and smirked. "I tend to be more of a sipping liquor guy, yeah. But if you like cocktails then we need to go to The Misfit. Great little chic bar in the old 1920's clock tower." He tapped his fingers on the desk in a small rhythm before continuing, "They have great food, too. Organic, drug free, the whole hippie shebang." He quirked his brow slightly and gave a pleasant smile. "Sound good?"

Running her hand through her hair while laughing lightly "Sounds good to me as long as it tastes good." She tilted her head a bit to the side with a charming smile. "I wouldn't have guessed that you're into that kind of lifestyle." she told him as watching his fingers tapping on his desk the sound reminded her a bit of shot guns. She kept her charming smile and looked normal at him. "What time did you think of?" she asked.

"I can afford it." He gave a small snort and stood up, loosening his tie a bit to appear more casual. "And how about you go drop those papers off as I escort you to my car?" A charismatic smile spread over Tony's lips and he held out the crook of his arm. There was a gleam in his dark eyes.

"Well, I guess sounds like a plan" she stoop up thinking to herself. "Or it might be better, if we met downstairs?" she replied not needing to come off as a cheese balland easily to get to be with during the first month of work. Especially in case she eneded some favors from Palmer in the future. She smiled at him hoping not offend him with her request. But she linked her arm with him still showing the interest from before.

He gave a small shrug and placed his hand over hers. His hands were rough and calloused, but not to the point of being unpleasant. "I'll meet you out front, or do you want this to be a masquerading affair?" Tony smirked widely, his eyes turning up at the corners slightly. But this wasn't even fun for him anymore, the chase and bedding a girl. It was just routine now. He hadn't even intended to go out and get some.
