I'm going to base it on the way everyone socialized. The dynamic and compatability unless you have your eyes on one be my guest in asking them. If I still haven't decided by then, I'll probably have everyone decide on each other and choose

Im not sure. I only know the anime, but I hear Death dies and Death the kid becomes the new Grim Reaper. Does that mean he has to stay in the city?

I think the Shinigami's soul acts as like some kinda barrier.. I forget if it was explicitly stated in the anime or not. But you SHOULD read the manga. The two diverge and honestly I wish it got the FMA treatment ;;

I haven't read the manga, but I've studied the lore immensely and the shinigami's soul was a force to restrain the kishin under Death City. So the soul being there would depend on whether or not it was still needed to restrain a kishin or some other evil force under the city. I think.

I don't think that mold would be passed on to Death the Kid, though, when he took over. Again, I'm not entirely sure, but that's my understanding.

Hi, I've watched the show and read the manga (Yes, even Soul Eater NOT!) Basically there are a lot of ways a shinigami can tie themselves down to the city. They wouldn't necessarily have to, but Lord Death not only kept the kishin in, but also kept a lot of the evil out. So no, the current shinigami wouldn't have to be connected to the city, but it is entirely possible that they would have chosen to do so for one reason or another. It is also possible that they could have found some other way to do such things. So its pretty much up to you Pumpkid
