Jarvis Briseis - Death City, Hallowed Grounds Coffee Shop
Jarvis set the half-finished cup of coffee aside and slumped on the table. It wasn’t doing much for him anyway…unless blood was mixed into it. Heck, he’d get more energy drinking from Zari than he did drinking a cup of coffee, but old human habits die hard. Can I get a quick morning sip of your blood didn’t seem to be the most appropriate thing to ask at the moment anyway. How many votes were they at? One for the doll one and…three for the cat? No, two. Emira hadn’t exactly voted.
Jarvis shrugged when Zari directed a question towards him, letting Midori speak and Adra interject her opinion before replying. “How can I be sure of anything?”
Frankly, like the former Monster Hunter, Jarvis didn’t want to skew the results either, especially since he didn’t care (too much) about which mission they took. He simply cast a vote instead of abstaining because they weren’t going to get anywhere if everyone abstained. Then again, perhaps just letting Zosar’s choice go through would’ve been quicker. “Adra’s got a point thought. Just pick whatever you like. The rest will settle itself.”
Somehow.
Despite what Midori said, he didn’t think their choice of a first mission made that much of an impact on the type of agents they would become. Well…perhaps it did…but then, it wasn’t as if Jarvis even knew what sort of agent he wanted to become. He was lazy and acted on instinct for the most part. Decision-making was a hassle. The responsibility of choice was a hassle. Frankly, if he could, he would’ve copied Adrian and Adra’s answers and deferred his decision to someone/something else…leave the fighting/difficult choices to meister…but it wasn’t as if the current choices he had to make were especially hard.
Cat.
Doll.
Scorpion.
“Cats are cute.” Jarvis yawned, his fangs visible since he was a little bit hungry and hadn't bothered to cover his mouth. That was pretty much the only reason that leaned him (slightly) towards a vote—not an especially good one either. Midori hinted that there was probably more to the mission than it appeared, since it wasn’t a request sent to the fire department, but that was about as informative as virtually nothing. “But I’d be willing to switch my vote if you give be good enough reason to do so.”
Essentially, if Zari thought there was more to be gained from them dealing with cursed dolls or fighting scorpions, Jarvis didn’t have a problem going along with it. As a weapon that had studied in DWMA, the well-being and development of the meister he worked with was of the utmost importance to him. It was a pride thing.
