Soul Eater (Celtic Hero and Katt)

"We better be in the EAT class if that's what you're asking. If we aren't, we're going to have to change that. I think we have a class with Sid soon though. It's on the basics of resonance I think. I don't think we'll have a problem with that," responded Mac with a smile.

Jamie smiled back. "I like your thinking. I just hope we aren't suck with Stein" She had a slight whine. She'd never been one to see animals be hurt. Jamie used to cry as a child when ever her pet fish died.

Mac frowned and tossed a concerned look to Jamie, "Why is that? I know he does some really weird thing, but I've heard he's one of the best meisters at the DWMA. I don't think we'll have much choice in the matter anyway. We might be able to get out of his classes if you had a good reason though.

"Would puking be a good enough reason?" Jamie questioned. She could handle murdering things. But animals. They brought her to her knees.

"That's a little harsh don't you think? Is there something you know that I don't?" Mac asked. Before Jamie could answer, his eyes widened as his brain came to a conclusion. "Uh… he didn't do anything bad to you did he?"

Jamie instantly shook her head no, waving her hands. "No! No..just I heard he dissects animals...a lot" she whimpered.

Mac gave a sigh of relief. He wouldn't have known how to handle that situation. Then he put his arm around his partner's shoulder, hoping she wouldn't freak out about it. "That's something we can work on. I'm sure there are some things we could do to get him to stop that stuff. At least during a class. Besides, you can learn just as much from bad people as from good people. It's just that you learn what not to do. You get what I'm saying?"

Jamie gave him a lopsided grin. "Alright." She didn't mind him putting his arm around her. She would have minded if it were anyone else though. She doesn't trust many, but she was going to be protecting this guy with her life. So what the hell? We seem to get along great anyways. Aren't partners supposed to get along? Most of the time at least? She continued to question herself.

Mac laughed with a grin. He hoped his partner liked him. There were so many things that he could do wrong. First, he could just simply mess up on something and look stupid. Secondly, he could overdue his friendliness and seem like a creep, or he could not be friendly enough and seem uninterested. At that time they reached the classroom that Mac thought was theirs. "I think we're a little early, but it doesn't hurt to make a good impression, come on."

"That's true..let's roll" Jamie chuckled as she started to open the door thinking that it was there class as well. She didn't mind the fact that his arm was still on her shoulders. Her cheeks were actually staring to turn a slight red from it.

(sorry..I've been feeling kinda ill)

Mac lead Jamie into the room, noticing it was mostly empty except for the teacher. His skin seemed a little strange, but Mac didn't question it. He found a set of seats at the front of the room and took a seat. "So, you ready for this class?" he asked with a smile.

"Yeah..I suppose" Jamie answered as she sat to the left of him. The emptiness of the room made her uneasy. Soon more students filled though none of them were the important ones.

Mac looked around as the other students entering. So this is going to be my… our competition? He looked over to Jamie and gave a halfhearted smile, trying to show confidence even though he didn't feel it in himself. Seeing the sheer amount of students in their class was starting to daunt him.

Jamie barely managed to smile back. All the people in the room started to freak her out. She never knew just how many weapons and meisters there were in this world. She could feel the shivers of anticipation course through her body.

Mac shook his head, forcing himself back to reality. The only way he'd cease being inferior is if he stopped thinking about it. He looked over to Jamie. He had to be there for her. She was his partner and his ability stemmed directly from his relationship with her. "Hey, you feeling okay Jamie?"

"Y..yeah. I'm fine." She clearly lied. Jamie couldn't believe it at all. She shook her head. Its okay...I'll be fine. We'll make tip of the class and prove to those know it alls that we can do it.. she tried to encourage herself.

Mac slipped on a smile to reassure Jamie. I can tell there's something wrong. Why won't she tell me? Did I mess up already? At that moment, Sid looked up from his desk and started to speak, "Welcome to Introductory Resonance class. Here we expect you to learn how to resonate with your partner. If you do not pass this course, you will be put into the NOT class. If I find out you're cheating, you will be put into the NOT class or possibly expelled. If you don't want to take this course, you will be put into the NOT class, but be aware that NOT class students still must pass this course eventually. If you happen to put in the correct amount of effort without any shenanigans, you just may pass this course and take your first steps into the EAT class world. That said, I have reason to believe one of the students in this classroom is an enemy of the DWMA. Someone next to you is most likely planning to destroy this school. So, to whoever you are, we will find you. In fact, if anyone in this class finds you and confronts you, they will automatically pass."

Mac pulled his vest on a little tighter and looked around at the others. A bunch of students had been staring at him because of the way he dressed. Now they had continued to stare and Mac didn't like it.

Jamie sat wide eyed. Someones trying to destroy the DWMA!?!, she thought with immense worry. She couldn't help but notice all the stares and sideways flames that Mac was getting. Jamie wasn't liking that they just assume it was him because of what he wears. Looking around at one of the people glaring at him, she stared at them till they noticed her, locking eyes. Jamie's were narrowed threateningly, if they were gonna mess with her partner they were messing with her as well.

Under normal circumstances, Mac would have accepted the challenge and made it a goal of his own. However, now he didn't because he figured Sid was referring to him. The DWMA had been on his tail for a few years, yet so far they hadn't gotten facial recognition. He looked to his desk and whispered, "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea."

Jamie heard his whisper and instantly snapped her head towards him. "What, wasn't a good idea?" She had leaned in whispering into his ear like she were telling him a secret, or trying to not disrupt the class.

Mac jumped and leaned away from Jamie. An eerie feeling came over him as he realized his idiocy. Now his partner knew something was up. Mac had no wish for death, especially by the hand of Jamie. However, the mistake had already been made. Mac had drawn quite a lot of attention to himself. A long moment passed before he said, "Stop it Jamie. This is a serious matter. Stop joking around. Do you want to get me in trouble?"

Mac's heart sank as he threw his partner under the bus, yet he had no other choice. He was a rat backed into a corner. The vibration of hope welled up inside Mac as he wondered if Jamie would ever forgive him. Heck, he was willing to explain the entire situation to her after class. That is, if she would ever talk to him again.

Only hurt filled her eyes as he threw her under the bus. Sid snapped at her for making jokes and said to stay after class. Jamie couldn't help but feel utterly hurt, she thought that she was supposed to trust her partner, not betrayed by him!

Jamie grumbled and grabbed her things moving a couple seats away from him now. She couldn't explain how bad she felt just for caring about him. 'Stupid jackass...who needs him..I can find a new partner. We'll never be able to soul resonate if he can't even trust me. What a jerk!' Jamie talked to herself as Sid continued on with class. She could only feel betrayal and broken trust towards her partner now.

Mac threw up a finger in objection, "Uh… that's not necessary Sid-Sensei. I'm sure she didn't mean any harm." However, Sid had already begun the class and Jamie had scooted a few desks down. Mac looked down to his desk and rubbed his arms. A cold creeped beneath his skin. The same cold that he joined the DWMA to escape. It was true, he really was inferior. Not only had he almost blown his cover, he had also made his only friend sad already. The class slipped by as Mac moped. However, near the end, Mac remembered his goal. He had to prove he wasn't inferior, and while there was life, he could find hope. Lifting his head up, he knew what he was going to do.

As class was racing it we'd most students were allowed to begin packing up to leave. Where as Jamie was told to remain her her head on her desk. Which is what she did to avoid any more trouble trouble she didn't cause.

Mac shot out of his desk and in front of Jamie's, glaring at anybody looking like they wanted to make fun. This confused the other students somewhat, but diffused any potential name-calling. Once the room was cleared, Sid stepped forward and asked Mac to leave. However, Mac stood his ground, "I'm the one who got her into this mess Sid-sensei. Any punishment is distributed equally among us. Accepting her as a partner, I have agreed this. Besides, it was me who made the scene."
