Kat's face said she didn't give a damn he was hissing at her as she crossed her arms infront of her. She raised an elegant eyebrow for a moment before pure tiredness showed on her face. The fact she was extremly tired caused her accent to thicken when she finally spoke. "I'm fucking tired and hungry. I also need some peace...so please come with me." She never asked anyone for this kind of stuff so she felt awkard. It was the only thing she could think to stop the nagging even for an hour. Though she knew he would probably deny her that simple request but she couldnt take the tiredness any longer.

Her green eyes were casted down at her feet as she rubbed her wrist. The bond burned but she cound't take it anymore. The thing about her soul bond was that it wore her down quicker than anything else in her life. She couldn't take the constant nag for long so she had no choice. "I need a break..." She said as she moved to pull her brigh red hair back into a pony tail as she tired her hardest to hold her head high. She was never taught how to ask for help from anyone because her father always saw that as a weakness. "Just for one hour.'

He shook his head, as he looked at the change from when he first met her to now. He sort sort of bad, knowing that she wasn’t the only one bothered, but also the reasons of why she is. “Just lay down and sleep,” he had muttered knowing that if he most likely could, she could most likely do the same as-well. He shook his head for a moment before shrugging as he leaned against his doorframe. “Fine, but only because you look so miserable,” he had said to her in a slight sarcastic way. He knew that she was struggling because it was noticeable.

“And were would we have even be going?” He had asked her as he closed his door to his room, after checking his pocket to make sure that he had his phone on him. He didn’t have much else to say, so he stood there with his arms crossed and a slight frown on his face. He wasn’t even bothered at this point.

Kat wondered what deity she pissed off in her past lives to get these kind of men. She managed to attract dickheads like a magnet. She punched the bridge of her nose for a second when he told her to just sleep. Oh silly fool if only it was that simple for her. “I told you I was hungry…there’s this dinner on the edge of campus. I want actual food.” She was normally on a highly regimented diet but this moment called for the greasiest shit she could ingest.

She turned on her heels and started to walk with a relaxed expression. For once the bond wasn’t screaming at her and she reviled in the peace. “Finally it’s quiet.” She said with a chuckle.

“Okay, okay,” he had said as he put his hands up like he was surrendering. He followed close behind her as they walked to get food. He had been calm and relaxed, now knowing that the mark on his wrist was no longer bothering him. He didn’t bother to say anything either; he knew it wasn’t the best idea to possibly get her more frustrated with him than she already was.

He let out a slightly silent chuckle, shaking his head due to the fact that she actually found him.

Kat turned to look at him for a moment as she walked along the road to the dinner. She managed to find him though honestly she didn’t know what she was going to do with him. She couldn’t live like she had been for the last week. “We are going to have to do something Vince…we can’t keep this as it is.” She said as she walked to the busy dinner.

she had only been to this place once but it was always busy. It was a small hole in the wall where the food was good but cheap. She figured her father would never find out if she was at a busy place. She motioned towards a table available in the back of the dinner.

Vincent had looked over to her. “Tell me about it. My situation is fine, I don’t really have anyone to tell me what to do. Although, your life, I’m clueless of what you should do.” He had mumbled to her, as he pulled his phone out of his pocket to check his notifications. He kept silent once again as he walked close to her, feeling a bit awkward.

Putting his phone away once they entered the diner, he had looked to her. Before she signaled to go to a table in the back corner and he had nodded heading in that direction. He had sat down, and leaned back/slouched into the seat as he gazed to her. “If you have any ideas, feel free to say so,” he said, as a joke.

Kat reminded herself that she could not strangle the man across from her. That would be murder and murder was frowned upon in polite society. She sat down with a hum as she stared at him. She wondered how he could ignore it or how it didnt bother him. Maybe it was her because her life was so already worn thin that she couldn't take on anymore stress. "We could be friends...for the moment until we figure something else out. I am busy and I need my focus. I have big things coming up this month." She explained as she looked down at the menu. She didn't care to tell him about how scheduled out her life because to a normal person it would seem insane. Plus she couldnt trust her father not paying him off in the end.

She smiled at the kind waitress when she asked for a water. She kept her gaze down at the menu as she tried her hardest to figure out what to do. She was just grateful that the bond had settled for a little bit to allow her some mental peace.

Vincent had hummed to himself, as he chuckled to her. “Friends, yeah, because that would work out great,” he had said sarcastically as he looked to the other people that had been in the diner with them. “What exactly are you even studying for,” he had asked to her as he re-positioned himself in the seat as he leaned on the table, putting his elbows up.

He looked to the waitress, but simply didn’t want anything, so he shook his head as he looked back to her.

Kat turned her gaze down at the table when he laughed at the friendship idea. She didn't understand what she was supposed to do in this situation. She knew everything about business and how to make the cuthroat of deals. But she had no idea how to handle other humans in a personal way. "Well you need to come up with an idea then because no offense but ignoring it wont do." She huffed as she ordered her a large order of fries and a burger. She knew she would eat all of it so it didnt worry her.

Once the waitress left she leaned back in her seat. "Business." She said as she crossed her arms. "I am trying to graduate early." Which in her warped mind signled her freedom from the pressure of her father but little did she know her future would be worse. "I am in a competitive feild and I need to focus despite what this bond thinks."

Vincent, had shook his head. He only had been joking around considering that he didn’t have much of a choice at the moment. He also knew that it’d only cause her more stress. Stress was something he didn’t need to worry about considering that he never involved himself in anything. “I was only joking, calm down. Ignoring it is a good option, but not for you. So, we’ll have to come up with something together where it works out for both of us,” he had told her.

“And considering that business isn’t something to mess around with. You’ll have a lot of competition,” he nodded to her as he moved back, leaning back in his seat once again.

Kat blinked as she tilted her head to the side like a curious cat. She didn’t understand when others joked because people never joked with her before. “Oh…” she said feeling silly as she leaned back in her seat. She smiled when her water came. She thanked the waitress before she turned back to him. “I always have competition that doesn’t matter to me. I just need to succeed.” She said as though that mentality made sense to anyone who wasn’t conditioned to be a top business woman.

“How shall we make this benefit us both? Our lives are totally different.” She said as she assumed he had a freer life. One where no one forced him to work. If she didn’t already know she was different t from him.

Vincent had turned silent, not knowing what to say as he looked a wide window, that had been close to him as he gazed off. He was slightly tired, knowing that he had stayed up later than usual for the past couple of days, and it was rather late at the current moment. He had turned back to her for a couple of moments, before he scoffed, “Just wait till your father takes profit, and you’ll go..” He said, as he made a hand motion that went down and exploded. Mainly, in a sarcastic way.

“Well. Thinking if I had a father; well, as strict of yours, I’d simply just come clean,” he had shrugged. Normally if his father were ever in his presence, he never had a problem with arguing. “I mean, business people have to be independent and make choices for themselves right?” He had mocked to her, as she heaved a little sigh.

Kat stared at him for a long moment before her food was placed in front of her. She politely thanked the waitress again before she started on her fries. “Vince…the moment he finds out I’ve met you it won’t be an argument either of us would win. He will most likely demand me to go back home and I’d be married off quicker.” She had been doing her best to not think of that piece of depressing news. She wasn’t stupid soulmates didn’t benefit the business.

“I know he won’t approve of you…” she said as she took a bite from his food. Hell she didn’t understand if she herself approved of Vince. The annoying bind never really allowed her to think of him as anything else but an asshole.

He had heaved a sigh. “Well, to be fair. You can make your own choices because your above eighteen. And secondly, I could care less of who approves of me. But I can’t change the fact that we both literally can’t stay away unless we both want to go insane.” Vincent had nodded to her, which he didn’t think much of what he said was wrong. The engraving on each of their wrists would drive them crazy. He didn’t care about what anybody thought of him, it was always a natural thing. “I know, that if my dad ever chose to say anything; he’d be just like your dad. But, I could care less of what he says,” he had scoffed to her.

Kat leaned back as she popped a hot fry into her mouth. Her soulmate was the opposite of her he was loud and uncaring where she was quiet and obedient. For the first time since their meeting a small smile appeared on her lips. “What do you care about then?” She asked in pure curiosity as she seemed to relax a bit.

The idea of her making her own choices was just that an idea. She knew Vince has no idea what kind of home life she had. It’s easy to say fuck it if there was no risks involved but she knew what happened when people crossed her father.

“Never had the chance to even find something or someone to care about.” He had nodded to her sarcastically. “I’d say, if a person can’t care for themselves, then they can’t care about anything else.” Vincent had said to her, as he pulled put his phone to check his notifications once again. They we’re all from some of his dads shitty friends, which caused his to shake his head. He found it amazing, that only they try keeping contacting him, but he liked to push people always. Yes, he was stubborn and many more negative words to describe him, but that didn’t come close to anything if he had stayed with his father.

He had examined her before clearing his throat. “And what would your dad do, if I just waltz in and told him,” he said as he had a stern face.

Kat wondered about the messages he was checking but she knew not to ask since it wasn’t any of her business. “Do you need to respond?” She asked as she assumed it was his friends or family. “Don’t let me keep you.” She said as she sipped her water.

She finished her food with a sigh when he asked about her father. “To you? Nothing but to me…he’d make me as miserable has he can.” She spent her life tip toeing around her father. She was the product of gas lighting and bullying. Even if she was free in the eyes of the law the mentality was hard to break. “So please don’t add to my stress. He already has people watching me.”

He had laughed slightly, “no thanks, I usually never respond.” Looking to her, before he looked around the diner, seeing what other people we’re going. Coming, and going and a lot of chit chat.

Nodding with a sigh, “fine, I won’t do anything but I’d assume nobody is watching you now so why can’t you just run away?” He had asked to her considering that he basically had done the same thing.

Kat tilted her head to the side as she raised an eyebrow at him. She was a one who always thought things through even attempts to break free. “And where exactly will I run to? I have no one to run to except to you.” She pointed out as she tapped his wrist right where the words were. “This means you can’t be bought. Others however have been bought a while ago so I cut ties.” She never really had friends since she realized her father was paying them.

“so tell me Vince where will we run to? How will we escape? What skills do we have to even survive in the world?” She asked the questions as she knew if she left he would be forced to follow her.

“I’m actually a pretty good ‘escapist’.” He had chuckled to her, as he looked down to his wrist and shook his head. “Damn right, nobody is able too,” he had scoffed to her. He had raised an eyebrow before looking out the window, as he pondered before he had looked back to her. “Run far enough where anyone can catch us, do what you want to so instead of listening to others, we’re old enough to know how life works, and maybe I can even pick up on something.” He meant, as taking up options on a job, one that he could probably win over his father’s jealousy although he didn’t want to get involved with other people. “I have two friends, maybe you should make some friends,” he had shrugged to her.

Kat let out a beautiful laugh when he suggested that they run far away. She tilted her head to the side as she gave him a smirk. Oh god the thought was tempting but she knew it was just that a thought. “Oh yes we can run away and have a cottage in the middle of nowhere…or we can take everything from my father and ruin him.” She said as though she thought about the second one.

“Friends…I used to have them but he bought them all. So I don’t need people who arnt loyal to me.” She said as she paid for her food before she stood. “Come lover boy.” She teased as she offered him her hand.

Vincent had smiled a little as he shook his head, sarcastically. “Maybe it’s called a fairy tale, but maybe the second option isn’t bad. Think about it, working together, I’ll deal with my half, and help you. You father won’t be able to do anything.” He had insisted to her as he watched her stand up, and he stood up with her.

This moment, it felt odd. He was usually a dick to everyone around him, well, he still was but he noticed a slight change which forced him to sigh slightly. He seemed shocked by the wording in a teasing way as he took her hand. “We’re not calling me that,” he had scoffed.

Kat actually laughed freely when he scoffed at her. She couldn’t deny it felt good she hadn’t laughed like that since she was little. “Alright I’ll bite. The fairy tale life…what exactly do you have in mind?” She teased as she walked out of the dinner.

She knew hoping even if it was just for one moment wasn’t a bad thing. “Don’t you want to finish your schooling?” She realized she never asked him what exactly he wanted to do in life. “Don’t you have a dream?” She was curious since he didn’t tell her much about him. He knew more about her then she knew about him. It didn’t seem right to her.

“However a fairy tale goes,” he had shrugged as he followed her as he thought to himself. He was glad that she was more open with him, than the first time they met, definitely.

“I don’t do much in school; I skip most of the time,” he had mumbled to her as he crossed one of his arms to him as he yawned. “I have experience and ‘friends’ that can help me plan a career. Or at least, start one.” He had looked to her as they walked. He knew he’d already have a career if he answered anyone that contacted him, always in close reach.

Kat hummed as she nodded her head as he spoke. “Well what do you want to do?” She asked as she walked with him towards the dorms. She knew very few people in college actually knew the answer. She knew business wasn’t what she wanted but she already dedicated so much time to it. There was no turning back at this point she had to finish it.

“Why not do what you want?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. He always seemed to her like someone who would do only the things he wanted to do. “Is it a career that you want? Only one of us needs to be miserable.”
